If I could give these apartments 0 stars I would. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!…read moreThis has been a long-awaited review unfortunately. Me and my BF moved in, and it felt like we were living in a hell hole. This was a year ago we moved in but moved out a couple months before out lease was up in September. "John" the front desk guy-horrible service and doesn't understand how to do his job at all. He also seems like he thinks he's above everyone and racist. We had an issue with our air conditioning where it stopped working. Mind you it was 105-115 outside and we had no air conditioning. and the heater kept turning on. We had gone to go clean the air conditioning filter and there was Black, White, Green and blue mold in the air vents and there was so much hair stuck in there as well. The screws came out of the ceiling and were rusty, the whole thing almost took out my bf. We took pictures and showed john, and he didn't care at all-he told us to duct tape it back up and that they couldn't do anything about it. We showed him the mold, and he just looked away. I have an autoimmune disease (MS), So that is very deadly to me, and I ended up getting very sick from it. We told John again and nothing. The Maintenace tried to come up to our apartment without us knowing and tried to enter without our permission, It seemed like they might have, and our stuff was moved around like they were looking for something. I went back down telling john that we can't stay here cause of the mold and i gave him (handed him directly)-Photos of the mold and broken screws and how the huge vent was hanging down from the ceiling and gave him our notice and gave him a summary on my disability and why I can't stay here or I will end up in the hospital again. He took the papers and set them to the side and didn't care to look. We broke the lease and moved out and he continued to add more money onto our stuff and then threaten us that we would have to pay 2000+ more dollars to get out and shit. "John" doesn't care about the people he only cares about the "Property image" and his "Precious BMW" He's a coward and he is horrible. Last but not least, the homeless people...Like talk about being a gated community but the gate is always unlocked, and I had older men follow me to my apartment and watch me go in and then walk up the stairs and knock on my door...Not safe at all. There was homeless doing drugs in the trash cans and passed out behind them. Very Very unsafe place.

Unfortunately my lease is not up until October so I am stuck until then…read more Summary: Rent: Rent stated online will not be the rent you end up paying (add $100) Leasing: At the end the first year I asked if I could switch units early because I did not like my unit, they said sure. Cost $1,700 to move into a completely empty apartment in the same complex 2 months early. Package deliveries: You are on your own there. They have parcel pending but lockers are always full and deliveries will be strewn across the floor. In the past 2 years I have had 5 packages stolen either from my front door or the parcel pending room. This is a complex that you need a fob to get into so basically your community is stealing your items. When I asked the office to email the community about the stealing or asked what can be done here was my answer, "I cannot help that there are horrible people out there." Broken knee: Cleaning company did not put wet floor signs out, slipped on the wet floor, broke my patella. As a result, I was fired from my job because I had to have surgery the same week I was supposed to be at a conference. I was without a job for 4 months and almost became homeless. Responsibility goes to the cleaning company not the complex but here is what the insurance company offered me after all that I went through, $25,000. My medical bills alone were $16,000. So what a great insurance/cleaning company is working here. WARNING; DON'T FALL ON UNMARKED WET FLOORS AT ROOSEVELT ROW APARTMENTS. Homeless, crazy people outside my window: I know it comes with the territory however, the first floor is not where you want to be here. Most recent: Some man on drugs screaming right in front of my window for 2 hours. I work from home and was trying to wait it out in hopes he would move on but he stayed there. At one point he realized that I was in my apartment and started hiding behind a tree and peeking in my window over and over and over again. I had to call 911. (And this is only 1 of at least 5 different times this has happened. Someone is outside my window for hours screaming and not one person managing the complex has a clue. Fitness room: Whoever purchases the treadmills has no idea what they are doing and it seems they are buying consumer treadmills meant for in home, not gym use. The problem is that when they break, they are left broken for months. Here is the danger. When the up and down button for speed is broken and you you push to go up 1mph, it goes up by 5 or 6 mph. I almost fell off the treadmill when that happened and again DON'T GET HURT ON THE PREMISES OR YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK. Garage: I pay $25 a month for the garage. I got in an accident and while waiting for the insurance check, I had it parked in the garage on the 2nd floor in a spot that I pay for every month. Get a text one day that my car cannot be in the garage taking up a space if it is not functional. I have to move it or be towed. The ordeal of moving it was a lot and I got my insurance check 2 weeks later. BikeS: I have a bike that I bought for $50 to get around downtown so I am not driving everywhere. I asked if they had a bike storage and yes, they do for $10 month which makes absolutely no sense. So within 5 months I have paid for the bike again. I called around and checked other apartments in this neighborhood and all of them offered bike storage for free. So if you intend on having a bike here, know that it's $10/mo to store which, for a college students, and I am not one, that sucks. Garbage: Unfortunately I live right next to the garbage room, One Monday the city did not pick up the garbage. I told the office they said they would handle it. Wednesday, the city did not pick up the garbage. I told the office a 2nd time, they said they would take care of it. The following Monday, and mind you this is a 4 story apartment complex, no garbage pick up. So essentially 1 week of garbage was falling from the 3 floors above me and it blocked the entrance to the garbage door on the first floor. (btw, the blocking of the 1st floor door happened on the Wednesday of that first week) 3rd time to the office. In the meantime people on the first floor are throwing their garbage all over the garbage room with no where else to put it. As a result stuff was oozing all over the floor in the garbage room, the stench in my unit became unbearable and I ended up with gnats that even after pest control still to this day live in my unit. The pool is the only redeeming quality about this place however, it is closed off and on all the time and don't try going out there on a holiday weekend unless you want the twerk party in the pool. WHEN I MOVE. DONT LIVE UNDER 651 10/01 - it's 10pm and they…read moreare stomping on the ground randomly. This has been going on the whole time they moved in. Before my google reviews started. It's coming up on a year of this. It sucks I have to move again. But this is affecting my mental health BAD. Not getting quality sleep. If I'm lucky I'll get a day or two a week 10/1 - it's honestly crazy to hear someone run across the floor with heavy feet before 7am And just dropping things on the ground that early in the morning. Even the day before trying to take a nap after a long day of work, and being woken up multiple times to loud thumps. Not just the heavy foot steps. But everyday they drop multiple things on the ground at the most random times. 9/28 - the loud thumping continues. What's crazy is most people that live here are adults and seem professional. It's like angry steps and a lot of bangs randomly. And furniture moving. Not sure what's causing them to create such loud noises. And today it's just continuing. Loud thumps. For the last few hours. Like someone is catapulting off furniture. Like grow up fr. That apartment is giving untrained adults with no respect for people around them. These apartments are too nice for this ratchet ghetto behavior 9/23: we love getting woken up in the morning at 4am on a work night to a loud drop. Shoot. I thought I missed my 9am meeting for a brief moment. Nope. It's just them. 9/24 continuing to drop heavy things on the floor late into the night. It's a daily occurrence. Just loud thumping and dropping of items on the ground that shake ceiling. I can't get more than 24 hours of peace. It's absolutely crazy. Mind you, I have my white noise on. And I still hear them. It's really just the constant walking back and forth with heavy feet too. They are pacing, up and down, up and down. Not going to another room doing something. But just back and forth, back and forth, back and fucking forth. It's driving me nuts. I am loosing my mind The week of September 13th through the 20th. Unit 651 wakes up at 5:45 am and heavy stomps and drops things on the ground all week. It's like they start their day working out and doing jumping jacks. They do this for hours. I don't get much sleep living below them. All 5 work days I've been woken up at 6am with stomping and heavy objects dropping on the floor. They pace back and forth starting from 6am on. My favorite part was on Sunday, when they started their pacing at 5:45am. I really hate living here. I am only getting 4 or 5 hours sleep a night and it's really starting to affect my mental health. Living under someone that is really loud is taking a toll on me. Feels like there is nothing I can do about it. I do like the office staff as people and the maintenance people do their job well. But the quality of life you can have living here seems really dependent on if you live on the top floor, or live below someone with common sense and curtesy for others. I hate living below apartment 651 I think they are horrible people. They are the loudest between 11pm and 9am. Getting up around 6am to walk back and forth for hours. Drop heavy things on the ground. They slam doors upon leaving or coming back. They seem like they like to go out late night so they come back home and are extremely heavy footed. They have random late nights where they are just dropping things between the hours of 2 and 5am. I can't get quality sleep here. I honestly cannot wait to move. I just feel like 651 are really inconsiderate people. I don't wish them the best.

Location: It is a bit ghetto but still centrally located…read more Apartments: The normal 1 bedroom and multi-bedroom units are pretty standard however, the upgraded one bedroom is quite nice with a unique floor plan that I liked very much. The bedroom is tucked nicely away down a hallway from the main living area. The patio is accessible from both the bedroom and main living area. The kitchen is centrally located. The in unit washer and dryer are located right next to the spacious closet. I cannot comment on the other units but the one bedroom upgraded apartment is great. Neighbors: Neither great nor terrible in the nicer part of the apartments. It is my opinion that single people with good incomes are placed in one part of the apartments and people with children or bad incomes are placed in another but I cant say for sure it just seemed that way to me. So if you were in the nicer part the neighbors were ok. If you were in the not so nice part then the neighbors were a bit much. Parking: One reserved spot but the not reserved spots are tiny and there are not enough. Have to buy your own clicker for the gate that encloses the community and it is usually in disrepair. Amenities: Pool, hot tub, free gym (Pool is in ok shape) Management: This is where these apartments fail. The management is very friendly when you sign up but once you are in they treat you like just another apartment number. I was referred when I moved in and then they tried not to pay the referral. I fought with them for a couple weeks and they eventually paid it. My cousin lived here for years and was well aware when monthly rent was greatly reduced for new residents but they would not give him the same deal when his lease was up. All in all it is ok because of the bad management, good single upgrade apartment layout, central location but bad neighborhood.
