To all customers that Steven and Robin Lagasse defrauded and promised one thing but installed another because in tiny letter they had written that instead of Travertine they could send brick, but charge for travertine. Again, get in touch with me. Why be anonymous? They crossed out the payments so that they do not have to do the bonding until the very end. The rusted rebar is coming through the concrete. The plumbing has one pipe 20 inches from the second twisted pipe which is 25 inches from the third one and 10 inches from the fourth one. It is not holding pressure. The six to 8 weeks has become almost one year and he wants me to give him the last payment and trust him that he will bring the equipment and bond the pool. DO NOT USE THEM!! Steve Lagassa will sell you everything and not stand by his word. He was nasty and very unprofessional when you ask about what he said he was going to do. They put the wrong color in my pool and will not even come look at finished pool to see it. By sides the actual pool not matching the sample I picked out I have proof from the men who put the surface in told me it's not the color I paid for. Steve Lagassa and Steve Zonakis don't even want to speak to us about it. They only send me emails requesting payment. The whole process dealing with them was terrible. They do not stand by their work and very nasty people!! read more

Pool took forever to build. Communication was awful. I ended up having a lien put on my house due to Lagasse using shady subcontractors. My irrigation system was completely destroyed. I would not recommend. read more

What is the measure of a company? Quality products? Excellent customer service? Timeliness? All of the above? When a company performs and meets these expectations, do they generally garner enthusiastic praise, or is that considered minimally acceptable? I think the measure of quality in a company is not merely found in how well they perform a service or provide a product. Rather, what happens when things don't go as planned. Integrity matters when things go awry. Absolutely, when a company provides quality materials and excellent service, it should be noteworthy, but when they take customer service seriously enough to mitigate issues of their own accord without any prompting, it alleviates pressure on the homeowner to know that the situation is manageable. Part of that important ongoing process is communication; a well-informed customer is certainly the bane of any mediocre company's existence, but you know you found a top-notch performer when they ensure updates are frequent and well-understood. Such is the case with LaGasse design and the saga that was my pool renovation. I do not trust easily, and from the onset I was comfortable with the representative's knowledge and willingness to recite said information so that I might grasp the finer points. The work ensued and each day I was provided detailed updates. Even with delays (through no fault of anyone, just the condition of the former fiberglass installation), the crews were always communicative and professional. The it happened; the unthinkable. Problems arose after the build completed and I feared I would be left to my own devices. Not the case at all. Steve assured me they would resolve my issues no matter how long it took. That's integrity, and that is why I would highly recommend them to anyone. Doing a good job is praiseworthy, standing behind your work shows integrity and pride. Robin states on their website that they don't have customers, they have relationships. I absolutely believe that to be true. Even though now, my problem is resolved, and despite the many trials to get to this point and Lagasse always resolute in their desire to make the customer content, I am dejected that I won't see Steve and Dexter in my backyard anymore. Wish i had something to prevent this poor review. I was raised on the philosophy "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" but if my truth could save one person from the incredible amount of aggravation that we have suffered at the hands of Steve and team, or prevent the extra $10,300 that we had to dish out in order to get it finished & move on, then I did something right. So, a then personal friend, we called Steve. We went over every detail of our remodel design and requested project to start via contract in November 2016. After a few calls seeking our startup, Steve came again in February 2017. He took our design & diagram with exact specifics then produced the actual contract which we immediately signed with required deposit in May 2017. BEWARE OF CONTRACT SCAM AND GET DATE TIMEFRAME because every precise detail discussed (materials, colors, shapes & sizes) listed for our original agreement of $37,600 remodel contract was later disputed & then we were upcharged (ie: "choice of color" actually written on contract - verbally expressed "darkest possible" at least 20x / upcharged; LED color light (Steve promoted as "we can put in the new LED color light" listed in orig contract as "light" with later additional upcharge for "color light" finagled more $$$ out of my husband; Steps sized and detailed in diagram with photo's sent to original office gal (4 since her) also were upcharged). All the while dragging everything out like we were the bottom barrel customers. every move DELAYED with excuses, demand for more $, paid without any delay, of course then blaming other subcontractors not kept in a "contractor loop" just all loose ended and sloppy... pool FINALLY COMPLETED in October 2018 but not without further issues. Also, our cage was supposed to be carefully detached in order to be re-used (Steve's suggestion). We, and our cage contractor kept letting Steve know we needed a 24-48 hour heads up up until a day before Lagasse came and tore it off, twisting all of the aluminum which then resulted in an extra $10,000 spent for a new cage. AND today we still have voids in the grout where the waterfall was added (see photo's in other Lagasse review) and ironically water flows inside of the cracks potentially damaging the underground wooden structure. We asked 4 different people and were promised 5 different times that they would do it "after the holidays", after the other pools with deadlines, he's no longer here because he never followed up on these things, even Steve saying (1.5 years later, "I'll have to do it myself" with no action resulting in loss of respect, integrity, any ability to ever refer. It is so sad. AND now we are certain that there will be a bogus retaliation review on our highly regarded local small business as well as the loss of a friendship. 2 years of HELL did produce a good looking pool but we have had nothing but headaches and more recently were told no grout fix & that we had no warranty for brand new installed and paid for Hayward Pump... When I contacted Hayward, their repair rep was all too familiar with the name Lagasse stating they were famous for "issues" and were not surprised by what little info I gave. Consider this a warning. If I had to do it over again I would RUN AWAY from this pool contractor and use one of the many other reputable contractors in the area. read more

I recently had some outdoor renovations done at my Sarasota home. I never thought I would be so excited about a driveway! It looks amazing. The pavers are now nice and level; no more water pooling when it rains. Jerry is a true professional. He finished on time and kept within budget. Joe Lagasse came out to do a bid on our pool and deck remodel. He was informative, extremely friendly, and not pushy at all. He answered all of our questions to satisfaction. He then showed up after work had begun to check the job status. Steve Lagasse also came out multiple times, and he too was friendly, answered all questions and addressed all concerns immediately whenever needed. Dexter and Anthony oversaw the entire job, putting in many hours, including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Whenever something wasn't to their standards, it was re-done. Whenever we had questions, they were ALL available. Resurfacing, re-tiled, new coping, travertine deck, screen and cage work, stucco repair, and painting - they did it ALL. We are rather picky people, and how it looks and functions is very important to us, to the point that we can be a bit of a pain. They handled all of it with extreme professionalism, and their workmanship was awesome. We were nervous with ANY company touching our pool. I'm glad we went with Lagasse, and I look forward to recommending them, without hesitation, to our family and friends. Thanks guys, our pool is exquisitely beautiful. read more
