Erika was absolutely amazing! From the moment I reached out to inquire about her services, I could tell she was extremely professional and detail oriented. She was very responsive and answered all my questions very promptly. I had to postpone my wedding twice due to COVID and she was so accommodating and was able to help reschedule with ease. When I had my hair trial, she helped me so much. Her studio is beautiful and she was so welcoming. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do for a style, and she helped me decide the PERFECT style for my wedding. It matched my whole look and venue perfectly. I received so many complements. I wanted to wear my hair down, but wanted to make sure it was still elegant and fancy enough for a bridal look. It came out exactly how I wanted it. She also was able to get me hair extensions that matched my hair color perfectly. (She even rushed it for me so it would arrive in time for my bachelorette weekend). When I left the trial I felt so great about my choice and I knew I was in the best hands for my wedding day! On my wedding day, Erika arrived promptly and completely transformed the getting ready area in the hotel into what looked like a hair studio. She had all her tools, chair, lighting etc. I had six bridesmaids and they all weren't really sure what hair style they wanted. Erika talked to each one of them to get an idea of what they wanted, and was able to nail the perfect hair styles for all of them. Erika at Lady Luxe Beauty was one of my few vendors I found through The Knot, not a referral. She was by far one of the best vendors I had. Seriously could not have been happier with her services. I am not sure where to start. I was super excited to work with Erika for my original wedding date of 10.10.2020. Her work and reviews were seemingly excellent. As a Covid bride, I reached out to Erika explaining that our wedding could no longer happen months prior to our wedding date. After lots of back and forth, she made it clear that she would not return our deposit and if I wanted to work with her in the new year (2021) I would lose my original deposit and could not transfer it to a new date. She stated I would have to forfeit my original deposit and have to give a new one to secure a 2021 date. She also shared with me that none of her July and August Brides had canceled/postponed yet. She explained that she had so many brides and the only ones that canceled were due to loss of job or pregnancy. She stated: "I am in a group chat with close to 30 New England Beauty vendors who are retaining 50% deposits. 10% at the very least covers my admin work, which I have also articulated in several emails. Your wedding isn't until October and I was trying to be accommodating by letting you cancel when it's possible services could be in fact rendered then." She was not understanding or fair. I asked if I could use my deposit towards her services and she said no. I would understand if Erika had done prep work for my wedding or had a consultation with me but none of that had happened. She also stated, that if I postponed the October date that it meant it was a day where she would be turning away other brides/clients. That was not the case, as we all no the pandemic and restrictions went far beyond October 2020. Her unwillingness to work with me to transfer the money to another service or new date was incredibly disheartening and frustrating. It was not a lot of money... but for me it was the principal. Erika was the only vendor I had worked with that refused to come up with a fair resolution. She even went as far as to say that I was lucky she was waiving the cancelation fee. She claimed that my emails back and forth regarding coming to a resolution was an example of why she was keeping the deposit. Erika claimed that it was administrator fee. She also claimed she worked with me at length which was not true as I only had one brief conversation with her prior to booking her services. It has taken me so long to write this review because every time I think about this interaction, I become very upset and feel taken advantage of. I wish there were more than 5 stars because Erika deserves that and then some! I truly cannot begin to recommend Erika enough! Not only is she professional, responsive, and rolls with the punches of a pandemic postponement and venue changes - she's also EXTREMELY talented! During my trial she really thought outside the box and experimented with different accessories. On the day of, she was nothing short of amazing. She arrived early, finished my bridesmaids hair on time and beautifully, and did an amazing job on my hair. It lasted ALL night, into the next morning after a long night of dancing, and held up in 95 degree heat. She is just as talented as she is kind and I would run, not walk to book her as soon as you're looking for hair and makeup! read more

Loved Erika's Instagram photos and first booked her at Marc Harris salon in January 2016 - did balyage, cut, and keratin. She has great taste, is funny, and seemed nice, so when she Instagram messaged me about re-booking and gave me her number I texted to re-book, with the appointment scheduled out of her apartment. (I'll add that when we re-booked she didn't mention that she no longer worked at Marc Harris). FB friending and Instagram followed. I was excited to have a stylist that I thought cared based on her pursuit and follow-up. For context, I wasn't skimping. I spent over $1K on hair services by her in 6 months. Unfortunately, the last keratin treatment I had with her did not work and after bringing it up nicely, I expected something along the lines of: why don't you come in, I'll take a look, and we can figure out how to fix it. Instead, she dismissed it as bizarre and suggested it may not have worked due to my after care or over processed hair - she did my color! She just started using a stronger version of the keratin product the salon used and said she followed the instructions and tried it on several other clients who were ecstatic with the results. I asked if she could re-touch it. She said you can't re-touch keratin but could re-do in 4 months. but she did not consider this a re-do so I would need to pay the full price of the service again ($300 cash). She apologized the results aren't as I envisioned and said she can't give free services based on what she explained. She even said it's similar to two people buying the same shirt, which is going to look different on each person (?!) Hair services are not similar to the fit of a shirt. For that matter, if the shirt fell apart on your walk home, you'd get a refund for the shirt or a replacement. I've had keratin before and this treatment did not take and she was the one performing the treatment and the only one to color and touch my hair prior to the treatment. I am upset that the hair treatment did not work, and I'm more upset about her lack of professionalism after raising the issue. Needless to say, that is not what you want to hear from a stylist that pursued your business, that you trusted and gave that much money and time to! I guess this is the risk of using a stylist that no longer works at a salon. I regret booking with her after she left Marc Harris because a salon doesn't handle a failed keratin treatment this way - you get a replacement shirt or a refund. read more

I love Erika! She did a copper balayage for me which came out so well blended, and she finished it with a blowout that gave me beautiful, beachy/Hollywood waves. That was months ago, and the pictures she took are still my boyfriend's phone wallpaper! My hair is thick, coarse, and unruly, but it has never been styled so well. read more

I was lucky enough to find Erika several years ago when I moved to Boston. She happened to be the stylist available when I tried a salon near my house. I have since followed her to a new salon and now to her own endeavor. I have thick, straight long hair and she understands how to cut it to give it body, movement and fit my face shape. She asks questions about how I wear my hair, daily effort level desired and what I'm looking for. And, I trust her judgement and advice! I've haven't had her do an updo, but when I need one, I'm definitely booking her...the pics are gorgeous. read more

Wow, Erika is beyond talented! I was just married in October and Erika was my stylist. I first met with her in September for a trial (which I highly recommend) and I had no idea what I wanted. I showed her some photos of my dress and some hair styles I had found on Pinterest. I had sent her photos of my dress ahead of time and she actually put together a board of styles she thought would look really pretty, too! She was incredibly easy work with and was honest if she thought some styles would look and work better (depending on hair texture, length, and thickness) than others. The style we ended up doing was beautiful, but after a while, I decided I wanted to do something different. This is why the trial was so helpful. The style you do at your trial doesn't necessary have to be your wedding day look. It gives Erika a chance to understand your hair and you the opportunity to really figure out what you want! The day of my wedding Erika was right on time (way more punctual than my actual bridal party lol) and ready to go! She styled all of my maids and then myself. My maids looked gorgeous! She gave all of them the look they wanted - some went with up-dos and some went with their hair down. As a side note, no one looked like they were going to prom - all of the girls had a very elegant, sophisticated look, which is what they wanted. Erika and I had talked about the changes I wanted to make since my trial and she said it was no problem! I went with an up-do and my hair was sooo beautiful! Even my husband commented how much he loved it - and he never notices that stuff. It stayed in place all night through the dancing, hugging, and the Nor'Easter I sadly had to get married in. Erika is extremely perceptive and knows what is going to look best! I couldn't be happier with my experience and I highly recommend her to every bride and bridal party!
