We own a travel trailer and a 5th wheel, but our tow vehicle was out of commission. Despite this setback, we had a camping trip planned with a few other families. We reached out to JaeBug Trailer Rentals and received a response immediately. Booking was super easy; they were incredibly accommodating, especially since we had many moving parts and I can be a bit high-maintenance when coordinating these types of things with other families. We rented the 36' Genesis Supreme toy hauler, which was in pristine condition! Even though we brought everything from our travel trailer, they provided all the necessities and even had the beds made up. It literally came with everything you would need as a starting point. Where we were camping, it was HOT (high 90s to the 100s) during the day, and the A/C was amazing! The "master" bedroom had a REAL mattress; it was so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of bed. Not only was the trailer itself fantastic, but the customer service was also exceptional. The team at JaeBug Trailer Rentals was always available to answer any questions and went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect trip. They even provided thoughtful touches like extra blankets and kitchen supplies, making us feel right at home. The trailer was set up and in perfect working condition before we arrived. Sandy, who I spoke to on the phone to reserve the trailer actually came out while we were unloading and asked how everything was working and if we had any questions on how things worked. Super duper impressed by that! This is my 3rd go around with Star RV and I have never had an issue. The camper was in working condition and clean. The campers do not come with bedding, appliances, pots, pans and glassware. You must bring your own. There are a few RV rentals that accommodate Vail Lake. Star RV was by far the cheapest. The best thing about renting an RV is leaving it all behind when check out time comes. Just load the car and take off and Star RV will handle the rest. I'll be in touch Sandy!

The pool area is on the smaller side, but the loungers were nice and comfortable and there were plenty of umbrellas, which made it easy to find shade during the day. As an avid camping family with four kids, we were surprised that the clubhouse was completely empty. No games, no books, no TVs, no activities, just an empty locker room. Part of the fun of RV resorts is having spaces where families can gather, especially during downtime, so that was a bit disappointing. We booked one of the Chairman sites, which includes a fire pit and BBQ. The setup itself is a great idea, but when we arrived, the site was covered with busted water balloons and other debris. We spent time cleaning it up ourselves, figuring it was just an oversight. Unfortunately, while cleaning, we also found broken glass around the BBQ area. Despite our efforts, one of our children ended up stepping on a piece of glass. We immediately let the front desk know and asked if someone could come clean the area properly. Unfortunately, no one ever came. We had originally planned to extend our stay, but after that experience, we decided not to. I don't write reviews lightly, and this one is honestly disappointing to leave because the resort has a lot of potential. With better attention to cleanliness, safety, and a little more effort put into creating a family friendly atmosphere, this place could be a fantastic destination. I genuinely hope they make those improvements because we'd love to give it another chance someday.

One of my favorite perks was the free shuttle to the casino. They also offer premium spots with fireplaces and barbecues, which felt like a fun upgrade and perfect for cozy nights. If you're traveling with a dog, the dog park is really nice with turf, and the community bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Overall, it felt comfortable, easy, and well taken care of. Would 100% stay here again. Shoutout to the manager who walked out and measured the picnic table so I could order the right fitted table cloth.

Sandy Vans to the Rescue!…read more So... my original awning decided to pick a fight with the wind. The wind won. Turns out my Exclusive Outfitters-built Sprinter van had a VERY heavy electric Dometic awning supported by only TWO mounting brackets. And just to make things more interesting, those brackets were attached with riv-nuts drilled into the corner of my roof--which also happens to be a pop-top. I'm no engineer, but a giant heavy awning + two brackets + a pop-top roof apparently wasn't the winning combination we all hoped for. Enter Sandy Vans. I live in San Diego and needed a replacement awning ASAP because we're leaving for Utah in a couple of days. I contacted Sandy Vans and had an awesome experience from the very beginning. I spoke with Cindy two days in a row, and she was fantastic--super helpful, courteous, patient, and accommodating. When I came in to pick up the awning, if she didn't know the answer to one of my questions, she didn't just shrug and send me on my way. She immediately found someone who did. That kind of customer service goes a long way. Then came Braden. Also extremely helpful and accommodating. He handled my purchase and even gave me his cell number so I could text him if I decided to install the awning myself and needed some technical support. He did briefly mistake my Sprinter for a Ford Transit... I'll forgive him. My van has a pop-top, so it doesn't look like the 9-foot-tall Sprinter skyscrapers that make up about 90% of camper vans these days. Then Brian came out from the shop and actually took the time to look over my van and roof rack to figure out how I could mount the new awning. He gave me several ideas, explained different options, and made the whole project seem doable. Sandy Vans offered to install it, but apparently I enjoy making my life more difficult, so I decided to tackle the installation myself with a good friend. About 2.5 hours, some cutting, grinding, a few choice words directed at the old mounting brackets, and probably a questionable amount of confidence later... NEW AWNING INSTALLED! What impressed me most about Sandy Vans was that they were helpful even after realizing I might not be paying them to do the installation. They still took the time to answer questions, look at my setup, offer advice, and make themselves available if I ran into problems. That says a lot about a business. I highly recommend Sandy Vans for their customer service, knowledge, courtesy, availability, and willingness to actually help their customers. Cindy, Braden, and Brian were all great to deal with. Now hopefully this awning and the Utah wind can maintain a respectful relationship.

I finally got around to reaching out to Sandy Vans to see about getting a replacement and was told that "this item is outside of their return window" (which is 30 days) but they could offer me $50 off towards a new $200 bug screen.. which seems silly considering the first one fell apart. I'm not sure about their other products, but the bug screens are garbage! I declined their pitiful offer of $50 off a new one and told them I'd purchase from a company with a more durable product. I'd recommend anyone else thinking about buying this product do the same!

WOW where do I even begin.... I wish I had taken the previous reviewers' advice and steered clear…read moreof RVFunRental. I ended up being another victim of a ridiculous insurance claim that had completely no merit. $1,500(RVShare deductable) was charged 2 months after the trip. And on top of it all RVFunRental didn't even tell us there were any issues. Walked the RV upon return and noted everything looked great. In fact we were the ones who had issues with the RV during the trip. Details below.... First red flag, RVFunRental did a bait and swap with our RV a few weeks before the trip. They said the previous one had issues and gave us a different one. At departure, we met with Greg from RV Fun Rental in Mission Viejo. This is how they service OC clients, meet in Mission Viejo with the RV and a car towed behind and then use the car to return to their office. We walked the C20 Entegra Class C with Greg from RVFunRental and the RV was very dirty (2nd red flag). We took photos of the RV before, inside and outside, and decided to move forward with our trip. Once we arrived at our destination and tried to start the generator it would not work. We called RVFunRental directly and they tried to walk us through a fix. Nothing worked and a mechanic could not come to our location. We had to deal with no AC or power with the June heat. It was very frustrating! Basically, a glorified tent. We coordinated the return of the RV with Greg to meet in Mission Viejo. Greg walked the RV with us and we informed about the issues we had with the generator and AC during our trip. It was very hot and unfortunate that the generator would not start. He apologized for the inconvenience and noted they would do their best to make it 'right'. He then proceeded to hook up his car to the RV(tow his vehicle using the RV) and drive back to their office located at 1553 S. Coast Hwy Oceanside, CA. The drive from Mission Viejo to Oceanside is about 40 miles. I tried to coordinate with Miguel from their office about our trip issues and a refund but nothing prevailed. He ghosted me and said he couldn't do anything. So I paid $1,805 for the RV and had no power basically to the RV! No refund or partial refund was ever given to me. RVShare and RVFunRental ignored my claim issues. A few days later we received an email from RVShare stating that there was a claim against us. I replied saying they MUST have it wrong since we were the ones who had issues. A month or so later RVShare again reached out and said the claim from RVFunRental was still open and that it is regarding "..the ABS light and traction control light coming on. This could indicate overheated brake components from improper use, harsh braking, or incorrect driving practices." We had no issues with braking or driving during our trip. The actual RV drove just fine. My husband, who drove, has a class A license and literally drives large vehicles for work. We have also owned RV's before in the past. To say we 'improperly used the brakes' is insane! And on top of it, as noted before, Greg used the RV after we returned it in Mission Viejo to tow his car back to their office. If there really were issues after our reservation, why would he proceed to drive the RV 40 additional miles towing a vehicle! I have been battling with RVShare as well since they deemed the claim OK and charged me the $1,500 deductable. RVFunRental's claim for this repair was $4,290!!!!! Absolutely insane that they are claiming we caused this damage! We literally had no issues with the brakes. RVFunRental has done this before to other renters as well. I added the reviews/ complaints from the Better Business Bureau below. PLEASE PLEASE do you own research and understand the RVShare insurance. It's very easy for 'owners' to submit claims and note that it was caused by the renter. It's an easy way for them to get money to fix outstanding issues, maintenance, etc. on their RVs. Smells A LOT like insurance FRAUD. I would NOT recommend using RVShare and would definitely not recommend using RVFunRental. I feel completely taken advantage of. Don't WALK, RUN away from using either of these companies.
