This place use to be some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Menu has changed so much they should've changed the name along with it. Any Mexican restaurant that charges for chips and salsa is out in my book. Food was not good especially for the cost. Don't waste your time!! read more

Fantastic dinner spot. We're from TX and approve of the queso. Lobster quesadillas were great and Nia, our waitress was even better. Attentive and cheerful! Would happily come back during our trip. read more

Excellent food each time we've been. Only reason for the 4 out of 5 star rating is they forgot two entrees for our dinner party of 11. After all the other dishes came out, they had to cook the missing orders. They were quick to correct the issue but we found it odd that they completely missed entering the two dinners. We'll be back in the future regardless. read more

Having come to 30A for years now, this is one of the most underwhelming establishments I've visited yet. The food is alright but it certainly is not up to par enough for the inadequate and substandard service. After being seated a waiter did not come to the table for an extended period of time and when drinks were ordered they did not arrive out for almost 15 minutes. The servers were extremely negligent to the tables when the restaurant was hardly busy. Overall, 2 out of 5 stars based solely off unsatisfactory service. read more

I was in PCB for vacation and stayed in the community where la Cocina is. My mom and I was waiting outside because it opened at 11, so we were sitting outside for about 20 minutes prior. At 11 I tried opening the door and the hostess just watched me. It wasn't until about 11:06 when someone who was already in the restaurant for breakfast tried to get out is when the hostess opened up the door. That was weird. Other than that I had the chicken quesadilla, it honestly tastes like canned shredded chicken if you ask me and my guac was brown. The salsa and chips were good and my waiter Alex was nice. read more

I love Mexican/Latin food. I can probably eat it daily.. but we were hesitant going to eat at La Cocina because we had just got to Rosemary, wanted to check other places out rather than just going to the go-to Mexican place. But turns out we did and MANNN I'm glad we did. Everything was great. Everything.. from the food, drinks, service, our waitress, the atmosphere ...we couldn't have asked for a better experience. I also loved how diverse the business was. Our Ukrainian server was so sweet and knowledgeable of the menu..she knows what she's doing and deserves a raise. Keep up the great work La Cocina..y'all blow every Mexican restaurant in Louisiana out of the water. read more

Very crowded and loud. You can put your name on waiting list. They text when table ready. On a Saturday night it will be so loud you can't hear the waiter. The queso is $8. Ok. The quesadillas are a bit overpriced. Kids menu is good and reasonable. The food doesn't take too long to come out. Taste is average. read more

Best froze and sangria around. The nachos are excellent and the service was great. Rebecca is the best waitress I have ever had. She was super personable, accommodating, outgoing, and just downright sweet. If you go, be sure to ask for Rebecca and leave a good tip! read more

This was a great place to eat at our first night of vacation. We were able to get a table right away. The wait staff was slow. The chips and salsa were SO good! Be prepared to spend $$ as a beef quesadilla cost $15! read more

This place is absolutely awful. It is easy to find a table here for a reason. We ordered Laco Queso, salsa, chips, fish Tacos, lobster Tacos, beef taco, fajitas, and top shelf Margheritas. Absolutely none of it was edible. Complete garbage read more

Perfect margaritas, servers are attentive and overall spacing of the restaurant is amazing!' Great music too. The food was delicious! No complaints. Our server Sebastian was so kind! read more

As a local y'all suck, you can't even do the simplest task and you charge far too much for low quality stuff, your staff is careless and rude. I made an order online for 2 burritos, waited an hour before coming to pick up then waited inside for 2 whole hours, to then receive the wrong thing then being told the kitchen is closed and can not fix so was given soggy nachos for the inconvenience. As starving as I was I began to eat outside while they closed restaurant and waited for my boyfriend to pick me back up because he got tired of waiting. We only live 10 minutes away... thankfully. But then, food poisoning, never in my life have I felt so ill in the bathroom with a trash can in my lap on the toilet. As a local we all give restaurants second chances being we only have so many places to eat here in sowal but it's safe to say never again, I never wanna feel that sick again. read more

I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my husband got the steak fajitas. I have to say this was the best quesadilla I have ever had and he raved about his steak fajitas: The server Suzanne was amazing and overall everyone our party was extremely satisfied! Walked in and was immediately served by a welcoming party. The food was great the service was great! I have to give a hugee shout out to Rebecta she was absolutely magnificent. Stopped in here for lunch before checking into the beach house. Waitress was quick, helpful, and attentive. Top shelf margarita was really good and they have several liquors to choose from. Chips and salsa are no longer free but they were good, and came with 3 different heat levels of salsa. Pineapple habanero salsa is the hottest and had quite a kick on the first bite. After that it was really good. I got the chicken taco salad and it was plenty of food. Fresh corn, black beans, cheese, and salad greens under a bed of seasoned chicken in a deep Fred shell. Plus it had some sauce on the side that tied it all together. The decor has been upgraded since we last came and it was really modern inside. Overall the price matches the quality and we were very pleased with our experience. read more

Wow! Great Mexican place in Seacrest. Had the chicken quesadilla and it was not like a usual quesadilla. Topped with amazing Cojita cheese and Morita sauce. Its a deep chili. read more

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Food came out before drinks. Don't get the burrito, whatever sauce they put on it was a awful. This is a 30A trap only existing due to convenience. I would avoid this restaurant and the whole area to begin with. It's a zoo, worst vacation we've ever been on and we are never coming back. read more

The food was average at best. I ordered the fish tacos and they were a damn hard that I didn't even finish em. Then .. I was scratching my head wondering why there were no chips on the table. When I asked they said we have to pay for them. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stay classy and have a great day. read more

I never thought I'd find in North Florida the incredible symphony of flavors I'd been spoiled to in Peru, but this chef nails it! The chef and staff are sharp about accommodating food allergies (even for celiac). This is a GEM! Don't go expecting the typical Mexican or TexMex cuisine, this place explores Latin cuisine much more broadly. Servers are spot-on,, attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend! read more

(If you are a local, I'm sure you'll be able to relate to this review) This place used to be not only one of my favorite restaurants on 30a, but also one of my favorites in general. La Cocina used to be one of the only places I would have to go to while in Florida, but now I probably won't ever go again. A little bit of change isn't a problem, but it seems like it isn't even the same place anymore. While the food is still okay, it is nowhere close to what it used to be. I don't know if it was a change in chefs or a change in ownership, but whatever it was ruined the restaurant. I really hope the owner is reading this and if you are, you should be ashamed for ruining such a great restaurant. (and also for charging for chips and salsa) read more

Seriously one of the best meals we've had on 30a! I ordered the brisket empanadas and they were fantastic. My husband ordered the skirt steak and pork belly tacos, and he wouldn't even share they were so good. The portion sizes were good, the service was great, and atmosphere was good for large groups and even families with small children. We'll definitely go back again. read more

5 stars if they had better AC sorry I don't wanna boil while eating their hottest hot sauce....

Good mild queso. Good chicken quesadilla. Nothing to write home about but good eat for the price point.

Very convenient(if staying in or near the villages)and great customer service. The chips And salsa were good as well as cheese dip. I've ate a lot of Mexican food so it's going to be hard to get a 5 Star out of me. I did order a classic though, chicken quesadilla, so I can compare to others. This food wasn't terrible but wasn't anything to write home about by far. read more

The service here was incredible! I don't recommend the lobster taco but absolutely recommend the enchiladas!! Pretty basic style 'Mexican' food. Easy to get to, easy to access.. plenty of seating. Service was unnecessarily slow given that we were one of 3 tables, with 2 servers when we walked in. The food was good though.. it's just difficult to give a place like this a more than 3 star rating when it is so basic. It was nice that the chef or a chef ran the food to the table and was very nice and personable. It just all felt a bit lack-luster to me. Was the food good.. yea it was ok.. was it spectacular? No not so much. Would I go back.. maybe because I didn't see anything else like it when I was in the area.. but it's not the best Mexican food I have had. It wasn't too pricey though, for what we had anyway. 2 Ice teas, guacamole, and 3 lunch entrees was about $40. So there is that at least. Happy Eating! read more

This restaurant impressed me! The food is excellent and service is top notch. The place is spacious and has great decor. The drinks are expensive, but the food is a good value. Salsa is smoky and heavy on the cilantro - just how I like it. The menu features various shrimp and fish options (fish was mahi mahi on my visit), but my favorite item was the mole chicken enchilada. Amazing mole sauce! Location is in between Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach, west of Panama City Beach. read more

I can't say much was good about this restaurant we will not be back. The fish tacos were over cooked. The lobster taco is one tiny lobster claw piled with canned corn on top. The service was exceptionally slow, chips very greasy, and for four tacos and taco salad with margaritas was $189. I would skip this one! read more

I generally rate restaurants the way I rate movies. Are they good at what they are good for? La Cocina definitely is! We were here twice during a four-day stay in Rosemary Beach, and we would have returned if we'd been staying longer. We went the first time for dinner after a long day at the beach. La Cocina does NOT accept reservations, so we just arrived at 5 p.m. when they opened. We were famished from the sun and sand and waves, and I was pretty thirsty, so I went for the frozen house specialty margarita, the La CoRita, which is a margarita with a swirl of sangria. Divine! It was perfect after the hot, sunny day, completely refreshing! I ordered guacamole to go with the chips, as I do not like salsa, and they make some of the best guacamole I have ever had! Super fresh, flavorful and light and cool. Perfect! My husband started with the tortilla soup, which practically looks like a work of art when served and then he had the beef burrito. I got a high-five from the waiter when I chose the lobster quesadilla. He said it is one of the best things that the restaurant makes, and it was really good. It had huge chunks of lobster that tasted so fresh! My husband really enjoyed his meal, as well. Instead of dessert, I just ordered another La CoRita! We came back for lunch on a rainy day. I intended to just order guacamole and chips, but I tried the quesadilla (just cheese), and it was really the perfect snack. My husband was a little overwhelmed by his nachos. There was a mountain of them! But he really enjoyed what he had. Both times the service was attentive, personable and prompt, and we enjoyed our time there. Obviously, I would return, and I would tell anyone in the area not to miss this delicious restaurant! read more

We went to La Cocina against our better judgement. We're from Texas and it is hard to find Mexican food that compares to what we're used to eating at home. Our server was nice. We had two servers helping to keep our drinks filled and that was appreciated. We ordered the "cheese dip" (we call it queso) and the guacamole. While the guac was good, it was nothing more than the prepackaged stuff you buy at the store. Then they doctored it up with some cilantro. Definitely not worth the $8 they charge for it. The cheese dip was okay too. My kids all ate it. I got a ground beef taco and sour cream chicken enchilada. The ground beef taco looked like the same beef I get in a Taco Bell taco and the tortilla was just a store bought tortilla. The enchilada sour cream sauce was pretty good. My husband got fish tacos and the fish was very tender and juicy. My oldest got nachos and forgot that they make them differently in Florida so he didn't like them. The other kids enjoyed their kids meals. Our ticket was $108 for six people, $130 after tip. RIDICULOUSLY OVER PRICED for food we could have made at home. We would not go back here unless it were the last place on earth and our lives depended on it. read more

The first thing I look for in a restaurant is the ambience. A+ The second thing I look for is a welcoming staff. A+ Then...the cocktails. For me, this can make or break a place. I had a passion fruit mojito. A+ There were 9 different mojito flavors to choose from and a wide variety of other very delicious and inviting other cocktails. Ah, if I only had more time..... The food was good. We had shrimp fajitas that were tasty. The veggies were definitely fresh and the rice and beans were good. My husband had the shrimp diablo and it was even better (it is spicier and had much more flavor than the shrimp in the fajitas). I would definitely recommend this place for its food, ambience, and service. The bartender was as friendly as she could be. She is a local and gave us several tips about things to do around town. I would highly recommend this to anyone. read more

We first discovered La Cocina almost seven years ago when we bought our home in the wonderful community of Seacrest Beach. EVERY time we would come to the beach, a meal at La Cocina was an ABSOLUTE necessity! Now that we live here full time, we are elated to be able to walk and enjoy the BEST Mexican food on 30A! I wholeheartedly recommend that ANYONE with a taste for Mexican food who finds themselves anywhere along picturesque Scenic Highway 30A make a point of taking a meal at La Cocina! Everyone they have on staff is FANTASTIC; however, we are particularly fond of two: Hector and Jenny! read more

We ate here twice on our recent trip to Seacrest Beach and both times we had a great experience! The first visit was lunch and the waitress was clearly slammed but she did a terrific job of making sure she got to us and refilled our waters, brought more chips and chatted with our kids despite being so busy! Kudos to hiring professionals. We had the ceviche which was a bit tart but very good and fresh. The kids portions are huge and they loved their burritos. The cheese dip is good and what you are probably used to and the chips are plentiful. The best part were the cocktails, I recommend the Cool Hand Cuke which is Tito's vodka, muddles cucumbers and lime and Sprite. There may have been St.Germain in there as well, it was refreshing and delicious! The top shelf margarita was also fantastic. On our second visit we came with another family for dinner and it was packed so we sat in the bar and had the BEST service!!! Awesome waitresses here, thanks folks! We enjoyed guac and cheese dip and ceviche and fish tacos and everything was tasty. A little pricey for Mexican but it is what you would expect in a resort town. read more

Awesome Mexican on 30A. Family friendly. Lots of great choices. Wait staff was outstanding. We ordered 2 meals and both were awesome. Also had the queso appetizer which was also great. Fair prices too. Highly recommend! read more

The service was wonderful. We never had an empty glass and the restaurant was very clean! Great food and a great atmosphere!!

Went there with our family of 7. We were promptly seated and water, chips and salsa were delivered to the table. The chips were light and crisp. Salsa was not too spicy and tasted delicious. Our server got our drink order while we looking the menu over. Our drinks (tea and coke) were delivered promptly. I took the servers recommendation for lobster quesadilla. My wife and daughter ordered chicken fajitas for two. My son ordered a plain beef taco and a plain chicken taco and rice. My daughters friend ordered the chicken strip basket. And my mother-in-law and father-in-law ordered specials. All of the food was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering. Everything was tasty. No one had anything negative to say about their food. Our server was by our table several times to refill our tea and coke. All in all it was a very enjoyable dinner. We will go back again. Prices were nominal and did not strike me as out of line. Service was excellent. read more

4/14/19 - It's been two years since my last review and I'm sad to say this place was a disappointment. I understand there's been a change in management and it shows. To begin with, we had to pay for chips and salsa. This is a Mexican restaurant right? Paying for chips and salsa is an insult, especially when they're charging $10 per margarita - which are super small. The location is prime but the food is just okay. We got a variety of tacos which were alright. read more

Beware of tacos with descriptions that focus on the sauce. In retrospect, I should have known better. The fish tacos I received from La Cocina's fish tacos were swimming in the sauce, a standard white tartar, the restaurant glorifies in their menu. There was so much sauce that the tortilla on my second taco dissolved. Not that it matters much for the taste, but to me, these looked like little burritos not tacos. But hey, we pay for the presentation too right? By the way, draft beers are $3. Margs are $9-$12. read more
