This place is closed now. Unfortunately, they did have really good food. Sad another business is no longer open for business.

Waitress was great. Very friendly, attentive, made good recommendations etc. Food was about as I expected. Small town restaurant focused in providing inexpensive about dinner like food. At the waitresses recommended I ordered the nachos with pork. Not what I'd normally order for dinner but decided to give it a try. If your in the mood for cheese wiz type cheese with tomato's and Lettuce on nachos it's about what you might expect. She was correct the roasted pork on top was good. My friend ordered the hamburger special and was not very impressed with it. Because is his lower rating I thought about giving it a 3 star but for me, La Clare delivered the food and experience I expected from this local small town eatery. read more

Love small town restaurants! Not pretentious or flashy.... just good. I had a great olive burger and well-done fries, served Quickly by an outgoing and friendly waitress. I'm thinking some of the negative comments on yelp were from small town neighbors whom perhaps have a grudge. I'll stop back again! read more

What a great restaurant. If you want a home cooked meal this is the place to be. Our burgers were cooked perfectly and were juicy and delicious! The fries were oh so tasty and crispy (which I love). The prices were better than reasonable. Unfortunately if you are looking for breakfast on a Friday or Sunday, you must get there before 11:00 am. They did however have a few dinner specials running that sounds very appetizing. I am now disappointed from reading another review that we didn't order the Mushrooms. Edmore is not a very big or busy place so finding a restaurant with good quality food was not expected. I can tell you honestly that we will be regulars and that durning my next visit the mushrooms will be tried and evaluated. Truly looking forward to our next stop into Beardslee's. read more

My husband, my dad and myself ate at LaClear's on Sunday September 3, 2023 for breakfast when we got there, we realized all they were serving was a buffet. This was fine as we have eaten at this restaurant multiple times for breakfast and have always had a good meal, till this day. First the buffet was very small, food was cold and just was not good. The biscuits tasted like they were a little old and frozen, sausage gravy didn't have much sausage in it nor was the flavor good. Hashbrowns were not done and the pancakes were very thin and flavorless. We were very disappointed as we have always had good food here, I think the worst part was they charged $14 for the buffet. Definitely not worth it. We will probably go back in the future, just will make sure they are serving from the menu. read more

Took a visit to Edmore and found this tavern. I had a burger and onion rings. Onion rings were delicious. Burger was good too. Hubby went with breakfast and was very happy. Will definitely go back. read more

This place is now called LaClears. Don't waste your time or money! It took quite a while before they even knew I was there. Service was very slow and when my order came out it was cold, the Corned Beef was burnt and the toast was stale. My eggs were cooked perfectly but they were also cold! I left feeling I had been ripped off! Will not return! read more

I thought the food was decent enough. A bit bland, not seasoned though. My wife & I walked in, & stood in the entrance, where there might be a sign to seat ourselves. What we were met with was two ladies staring at us without so much as a "Hey". Finally, after it became uncomfortable, we greeted them and asked if we could sit down. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed. Before long we had a stack of empty dishes, empty drinks, & no wait staff, of three women, to even ask if our meals were okay. No refills. It was bizarre. There wasn't hardly anyone there. Like three tables. $80 we spent. We went to McDonald's to get ice cream afterwards, because we didn't feel like waiting for the second coming of the Lord to even ask for dessert. read more

Ma & Pa style diner. Food was good with service to match. As I'm not a huge breakfast fan we timed our stop so Sally could get breakfast sandwich and I had a fish basket. Both were good and served to hot to eat. We would go in again but not stray off our route to make the stop. read more

Unfortunately I have to drop the review after my most recent visit based in the staff. I went on Friday and the place was almost empty. We received are me u quickly but were asked what we wanted right away. We asked for time but the waitress gave us about one minute of time each time we asked. Finally we just selected quickly because she was being pushy on te matter. After this it took way too long to get our good to us and when asked if they did anything for birthdays they became irate. Once we did receive our good the waitress never came back to check on us. The kicker is that she over charged us in several things. First, when ordering I asked if I could substitute the French fries that come with the burger I ordered for hash browns and she said yes, but she charged us for the hash browns and didn't bring the fries or coleslaw that comes with the set either. So, she lied... Overcharged..... And shorted us an item based on her actions!! They need new staff. I do want to clarify that the guy from my first visit a few weeks ago was great! It was just this girl. If she was going to charge for the hash browns she should have at least given us the fries that wee supposed to come with the meal. The only upside is the burger was good. The hash browns were much worse. Seriously? Get your stuff together and get more employees like the guy you have. read more

My husband and I went on the recommendation of one of his friends, who raved about the mushrooms. Dude didn't lie. Those mushrooms. Ever since having them, they literally come to me in my dreams. These are no frozen-food-service crap mushrooms; they are absolutely to-die-for hot, crispy, tender flavorful morsels of heavenly fungi goodness. Even though they were busy with a very large group and several other tables, our server (I'm sorry I didn't get her name; I was clearly in an altered state of consciousness from those mushrooms... oh, those mushrooms!) was very attentive, kept our sodas refilled and the ticket times for both our starter and mains were impressive. Hubs had the open-faced hot beef sandwich and I had the smelt basket. We both thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal; even though we had to request to-go boxes for our leftovers I sheepishly admit that none of the leftovers made it to the following day. If you're looking for a down-to-earth family-friendly restaurant with YUM food, great prices and attentive servers, you definitely HAVE to try this place. And if you love mushrooms? You may never leave. Personally, I can't wait to go there again. read more

Decent atmosphere but dated. I had the cowboy burger. It was good... The fries left something to be desired and the coleslaw was bland.

It's not great. If you've ever been to Big Boy's, this is Big Boys without the statue in the checkered pants. The food is okay. Not BAD. Just not particularly good, either. The place is dated, but moreover, it's a bit dusty. The staff aren't particularly friendly. It's better than Leona's, down the road, but that's damning with faint praise. read more

Very good smelt dinner. Waitress was very kind. They brought our food out in a timely fashion.

Stopped here with my Father while I was visiting Michigan recently - and had been here a couple times before, I belive. It's a nice, calm, diner-like place. Food was good, and service was EXCELLENT! Our waiter (Zach?) was very attentive and made sure everything was timed right and was exactly what we wanted... I don't see this kind of attentive service much anymore, but Beardslee's should KEEP THIS GUY! Restaurant got pretty crowded (it was a Sunday and we arrived before church let out and the crowd came) - but Zach and the other staff handled the volume (and the attitudes) excellently. Hat's off to a new Michigan fav of mine! I'll try to visit the state (and Beardslee's) more! read more

My parents and I went there a few days ago, the waitress working there completely ignored us. Didn't even say hi or take our drink orders, she was more interested in the money then serving the guests. On previous expenses, the food was very greasy, not fresh and bland. Flies kept landing on our food. Will not being going back. read more
