    One of the themed games.

Get ready to get your game on! This is one of the most thought-out, well designed games I've ever seen. Truly remarkable and we can't wait to go back. You're faced with a hallway of doors. Behind the "marked" doors is the beginning of a game. You are told how physical and mental the game is, along with the minimum number of players (either two or three) and then you go in. Each game is different, has multiple levels, and if you fail, you have to start over. They are challenging , but not impossible. Complete each level for the opportunity to play the final level and beat the entire game. We did not make it that far.... but we will be back. A few points of guidance: 1) this is not a place for young kids. They say 8 and over. I'd say closer to 10+ 2) wear comfortable clothes; you're gonna get a work out. 3) leave loose items in the car. It's a pain to lug around a purse. 4) look for the attendant in the hall for clues or to fix the occasional game mishap. 5) plan on at least two hours. You can do a social media post to extend your time by 30 minutes per person. Do it! 6) save your cards from winning games. You don't have to do them all in one day-so come back! 7) the ideal group size is three. You need at least two players for all games, but more than three gets difficult.

Get the ring to the top without touching the pole!

Came here with some friends this weekend and had an absolute blast! The basic premise is that there are several themed rooms that have different levels you can make your way through. Some rooms are physical challenges, some are mental challenges, and some are a mixture of the two. For example, one of the rooms is called "Volcano." It's basically an epic game of "the floor is lava" and you have to make your way through balancing on poles and swinging from ropes. Fun, right??? The rooms are super creative! We found ourselves laughing almost the entire way through! This is a super fun place to come with your friends, family, or a group date. Only complaint is that some of the rooms are starting to look a little run down and sad. There were also a few rooms that we lost because of a technicality. It was super frustrating to have to start all the way over. Overall though, I definitely recommend this place! You'll have a blast.

Enter at your own risk. This place is addictive!! The games here are so fun and creative, we've come back multiple times with friends and so far everyone has loved it! You'll definitely want to ask if any of the rooms are broken before you go in. The first time we went, a lot of the rooms we went into were broken and we wasted a lot of time trying to figure them out. I would recommend bringing a group of 3-4 people. Some rooms require 3 people and a lot of the rooms are so small that 4 people felt crowded.

Where did they even find balls this big??

I went on a group date to Labyrinth last night and our whole group had a blast!! If you've never been there before it is like a bunch of small escape rooms, you have to solve a puzzle and/or do a physical challenge to make it into the next room. Most of the rooms have three separate rooms to complete each challenge and if you successfully complete that challenge there is a box that pops out a paper. You collect all the papers and then you get to enter the Labyrinth room. Our group of six was there for 2 1/2 hours and only got one ticket! Ha ha We really struggled in the physical challenges and some of them are REALLY hard, especially if you don't have long legs or if you are overweight. Even though we only finished one room successfully we still had a blast and all agreed that we would go back again!

Pleasant Grove. Many of their rooms are designed for two people in mind, and the themes all looked so good, it was hard for us to decide on which game we wanted our first to be. Eventually, we settled for The Sweet Escape, and it proved to be a great choice. The Escape Date is located within different clusters of shopping malls - it is itself set up like many of the escape rooms in Orange County - not really good for showroom shopping, but easy parking, easy to find (go down the stairs!), and great for letting your imagination run wild when designing a quest! There is no café right next door, but plenty of nourishment establishments are located a short drive away. We stopped off at Beans and Brews right before our game, so we were properly caffeinated and ready when we met up with Elizabeth, our game host, in the small but nicely-decorated parlour. Elizabeth could have walked right off the set of The Good Shop Lollipop or Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. As it turned out, we were not trying to escape from anything. In fact, we were competing for a chance of a lifetime: to take over sweet magnate Louis VonSweet candy empire! Happily, we did not have to sit through an entire pre-filmed game rules video, and after a short introduction delivered by VonSweet himself, we were left to get started on our task. The video also served as a timer during our game, but clues were slipped to us under the door. Like other what we have come to call "First Generation" games, this fun hour had us solving riddles and linear puzzles, adding up numbers and being not just hands-on, but nose, eyes, ears and tastebuds on as well. The conventional locks and magnets all worked, and we did not think twice about it being a single room because we were fully engaged the entire time we were there. We loved how strictly they kept to the theme, and, even though I was a little reluctant to try one of the puzzles, that puzzle turned out to be my favourite challenge in the game. The maze, challenging our hand-eye coordination, was another memorable obstacle to our inheritance ... The Sweet Escape is the perfect date adventure, with a most delicious (ha!) price-point. It is also a full 60-minute game, and because we had just completed a 20-minute game, we outpaced ourselves and managed to become candy millionaires in 43:44! We loved the very flattering victory photos Matthew (also dressed in deference to theme) took of us on our phone, and when we used the restroom after our game, we found ourselves kept busy there, too! The Escape Date was a marvellous find, and we're thrilled to find even more games available that are built for a 2-person team. We can't wait to check them out again - it won't be long!

Other escape rooms where saying we had to pay for 4 people minimum even if we didn't have that many people. The staff was very enthusiastic and nice. As it was happening, the clues seemed hard but then after the fact, it really wasn't that bad. Make sure you are completely doing each lock because I had team members who tried locks and it wouldn't work but when I tried the same thing, it worked for me. The only great thing about the place was the lobby and the customer service from the game master. The lobby is well maintained and it made me excited for the room. However, the room had multiple issues. The largest issue was that the AC did not work at all. This ruined the experience because we had to have the main entry door open the entire time so that way some fresh air would come in. Even with this solution, one of us were completely disengaged due to the heat, and everyone else was highly uncomfortable. Not having AC in the summer when it is 106 degrees outside is just no acceptable. Beyond the AC issues, the escape room itself was middle of the road at best. There was no flow and the puzzles were incoherent. One of the locks was left unlocked so we did not solve one of the puzzles. The room was overall cheaply made. For example, they use wall paper on a standard door to make it look like a submarine door, whereas other escape room company's would design a door that looks and feels like a submarine door. There were also 2 other cheap locks on one cabinet that one person easily guessed the combination to. Overall, I would not bring my team back to this escape room company.
