Came here with my husband and his family for some pre-Thanksgiving axe throwing! This really is a good activity for all age ranges. We had 17-60+ and everyone had a good time and got a chance to throw. I even saw staff offer a smaller throwing axe to the younger children in a different group. Reserving our spot online the night before was super easy, and we got there right as doors opened. Since the staff was still setting up (and spray painting fresh targets) our start time was delayed a bit but we were all given extra time to throw at the end. After a quick briefing on how to throw the axes, the safety rules, and an overview of the game style suggestions on the wall we got to throw. I'm glad we had a large enough group to get two lanes because it made it more fun to go head-to-head against someone and have more people involved. The chalkboard in between each group was a perfect way to keep score. We only did one hour, or "the half beard", and all agreed that was ample time to get enough throwing in. But I can see with an even larger group you may want the full beard/two hour slot. There was an option to get unlimited soda in a fun stein for $2 per person but we skipped on that. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and even took a group picture for us at the end of our time. It seems like a burger place is opening in the back soon which I think will definitely add another layer of fun. I would definitely recommend coming here! read more

Great location for a date, night out with friends or even for the kids! The staff is so polite and great at teaching you the techniques. There are fun party games that you can play once you get the hang of throwing. They even have $2 unlimited soda in these super cute mugs! They also have a weekly throwing league that only costs $5!! We came on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 6 and had a great time! I love the vibe and the atmosphere. The workers were kind, fun, and helpful. They have a lot ideas for different games you can play and you have access to a chalk board to keep score. Some concerns people may have would be that it is difficult and unsafe. They teach you exactly how to do it so that anyone that comes can have fun and stick their axe! They also have rules and policies in place to keep everyone safe. My experience was 5 stars! The problem is that I'd give the value for your money about 3 stars. It just seems like a lot to pay. And the biggest problem that bothered me is that you don't actually get to throw axes for the amount of time you pay for. We paid to throw from 1-2, but didn't actually get the start throwing until 1:15 because they had to organize and check in everyone else that came and go through the safety spiel. And they made us stop right at 2:00. So even through we paid to throw for an hour, we only got 45 minutes. I give that aspect 2 or 3 stars. I'll go ahead and round up to 4 stars. If they can fix those couple of things they are well on their way to 5! read more

This was a great date for my wife and I. It is much easier Han I expected and even more fun. Both of us enjoyed our experience and want to bring a group with us next time. If you have a group of four or more you have to make a reservation in advance. The whole shop is really well done. The staff is great. The only thing that wasn't very good was their home made soda bar, out of about ten flavors I only found about two that were very good. This is a fun and safe activity guaranteed. This place is great for an adventurous night with your friends, team building or even date night! You start off with a safety briefing/video and then you pair up to practice, before the competition begins. The staff does an excellent job with safety and teaching you how to throw. Some throws you're hitting your mark every time and others the ax is bouncing off the wall and hitting the ground with an embarrassing loud clang. I recommend arriving 10 minutes early to allow time to check in, sign the waiver and get a brief safety tutorial. We thoroughly enjoyed this unique activity, staff was also very friendly and helpful. It was really fun! I am not an "ax throwing type" but it was unique and different and fun! It is one of those activities that makes a great date because there is an adrenaline rush but you can still easily talk. It wasn't the most immaculately designed building but it doesn't need to be. We had a great time! However, there were a few things about this place that could be improved upon: * It was extremely hot inside, so be ready to sweat if you go on a hot day like we did. * The handle on the axe we used was pretty torn up, so it wasn't very comfortable to hold. * The floor of the cages were made up of a bunch of wood pieces, which is not comfortable to walk on at all. * The targets were EXTREMELY beat up which made it hard to tell which section you got it in, or if you even were in the center circle. All that being said, however, we did have a really fun time and best of all, the employees were awesome! They were professional, kind, helpful, and made us feel welcome! A super fun date night idea!! I've got to say that I was pretty nervous that I wasn't going to be able to do it, but it was actually super fun! The service was great and the place wasn't too busy. I could see how it could get busy on the weekends though. For groups with 4 or more you have to book online in advance. But me and my husband were able to walk right in. My husband got a mug so he could have as much of their special sodas as he wanted- he did say that most of them weren't very good, but the idea is pretty good. While the location was mostly empty throughout our hour there, the staff was great in helping us improve our hatchet-throwing technique, picking out a game for relatively large group of 8 people, and making sure we had what we needed. The free pop & metal steins were a nice added bonus to a pretty low-cost and highly-entertaining idea for groups. We've had 3 really fun date nights here, it's a unique experience and lots of fun, but I'm only giving it three stars because we pay for a full hour and only get 40 mins. After they take time to explain all the rules and techniques to the group (on your paid clock) then do any board changes and spray downs, they then rush you out before your hours up..."to get ready for the next group" (10 whole mins before the hour), it just feels like a rip off. Especially since they didn't rush the group out that was ahead of us, so that ate 5 mins into OUR hour right off the bat. If they change the training to be BEFORE the hour started, that would help a lot. read more

I haven't actually tried the axe throwing, but you walk past the hatchet throwing to get to Backdoor Burger. Everyone looked like they were having lot of fun, though. I want to try it some time. So if you go to Heber Hatchets you're going to wonder how Backdoor Burgers is upstairs. Love, love, love their burgers! Don't be shy about trying the more unusual burgers (the bottom 2 on the menu)--they're delicious. Who knew that ingredients not normally found on a burger could be so amazing? I didn't have fries, but I noticed that everyone else's fries were gone by the end of the meal, so they must be great! This visit we had a large group of 10. The owner (or manager) personally came out and helped explain everything and made sure we were taken care of. Heber Hatchets and Backdoor Burger is a perfect combo for a great night! read more

I purchased 6 gift cards for Bosses Day and was only emailed codes for 2 of the cards. After REPEATED phone calls and emails the problem is still not resolved. No refund, no codes, no communication. It's now been 3 weeks. We thought it would be a fun gift, but we haven't even been able to give our bosses the gift. Customer service and communication is terrible. The quality of the targets and hatchets are exceptionally poor. They charge enough they ought to be able to keep things updated. The hatchets are actually dangerous to throw because the metal on the handle is exposed and hurts the hand. The boards were so worn down it was very hard to consistently stick the hatchet. I love axe throwing, but I won't give any more of my money to this company. read more
