Buy Lumber and Pay for Your Gas!!…read more This place is totally awesome. I've been buying big beams, finished wood, trim pieces and getting all my keys made here, for several years. The people who work here are friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. Last year I was in Home Depot in Manchester picking up some trim molding. It seemed a little expensive. I called White Mountain Lumber to compare prices. I got Evie(super cute!) on the phone and when she gave me the price, I almost fainted! Buying it at White Mountain lumber paid for my gas on one trip from Manchester to Berlin, a trip I was frequently making at the time. Then it dawned on me. With Berlin quickly becoming a tourist destination with the 1000 mile Ride the Wilds" trail system exploding in popularity, people are traveling there from all over New England with trailers behind their trucks and SUV's. You are also only minutes from the Appalachian Trail, great fishing, jaw dropping scenery, kayaking, snowmobiling - the Berlin area has it all! Why not get some lumber from the great north woods for your home - and help pay for your travel expenses with the savings? You will make the great north woods part of your home! I had a hard time getting keys made in the Berlin area - most of them didn;'t work. When I have keys made at White Mountain Lumber - they always work! I needed some 6x8 beams once for a project, and one of the owners, Barry, gave me an excellent deal on them. He was super down to earth and friendly. This is an excellent family owned New Hampshire company with awesome products for great prices - with terrific people helping you. WIN WIN WIN!

Great little country hardware store supporting the local community all year around. A little bit of…read moreeverything you would expect. I go there first hoping I can give them more support. I'd rather support this small store that is vital to the community. It's walking distance for many who do not drive. With downtown America in trouble, it seems civically responsible to help businesses such as this. We are fortunate to still have a small, local hardware store, regardless of who owns it.

Fantastic customer service from a locally owned small town business!…read more In 2013, my wife bought a mower from Lancaster Hardware, while I was living and working in another state. I joined my family here at the end of 2013, and when the Spring mowing season started for 2014, I realized there was no discharge chute (it's convertible between discharge and mulching). It was supposed to come with one, but didn't. I stopped by the store to ask if they could order a replacement. The owner said that he remembered seeing one kicking around the store, but if he couldn't find it he would bring one from his own mower at home. When I stopped back in, he said the part was on order but hadn't arrived yet, so he simply handed me the chute from a mower he had for sale. No questions, no charge!
