Skate shops are rare. Maybe because my family's skate boarding passion has just begun, but when I…read moreYelped skate shops near me there weren't many options. Luckily, we are blessed to have Boards 'N More to visit for all our needs. The shop itself is located downtown Brentwood so you may have a little walk after finding parking. What you'll be met with when you enter is an avalanche of inventory. There's so much to look at and browse that it's best to just ask the nice lady behind the counter what you're looking for. There's apparel, scooters, skateboards, accessories, shoes, stickers, and so so so much more. Luckily, I came prepared with exactly what I had in mind to buy and was able to secure the goods at a decent price. The service here is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. All the wonderful things you'd expect from supporting a small, local business.

A neighboring store was hosting a car meet. Apparently I was told that the owner has a history of…read moreharassing attendees who park in front of his store as he claims parking spots. He proceeds to move items from the host's event and tells us to move our cars (which personally I don't mind cuz I wanted to move my car closer to the store the meet was hosting) But honestly there's a better way he can handle this situation but apparently he decided to be confrontational.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed…read more From the moment we walked in, the owner made a comment to my boyfriend about being on his phone and then generalized it to "your generation," which immediately felt judgmental and unnecessary. We were shopping for a jacket for my younger brother. When we asked about Pro Club, we were told he only had Pro 5. My brother said his size was a Large, and the owner questioned it in a way that felt awkward. He brought out a jacket that was still in the bag, and when my brother asked to see it before buying (which is normal when shopping), the jacket was taken out without any issue being mentioned. Once my brother decided not to purchase it and we politely let the owner know, his demeanor noticeably changed. He became frustrated and said that customers are "picky" and that once an item is taken out of the bag it's harder for him to sell. He then told us not to come in unless we already know what we want to buy. This felt unfair and uncomfortable, especially since none of these expectations were explained beforehand. If items aren't meant to be opened, that should be clearly communicated or display items should be available. As we were leaving, he made a comment under his breath, which added to the uncomfortable feeling. Overall, the experience made us feel unwelcome simply for browsing. Customer service should not make customers feel bad for wanting to see an item before purchasing. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark.
