There was an immediate bum rush to the front, and somehow two separate lines were allowed to form with no explanation or enforcement. Security did nothing to control the crowd or restore order. People were openly cutting the line, and individuals who had already purchased shoes were allowed to get back in line and buy multiple pairs. During this chaos, I personally witnessed someone get robbed of the newly released shoes they had just purchased. The environment felt extremely unsafe. Several people appeared to be carrying weapons, which made it intimidating and dangerous to speak up when others were cutting the line. A shoe release should never put customers at risk or create a situation where theft can happen right in front of staff and security. This event was completely unorganized and poorly managed. If this business plans to host high-demand releases, they need clear rules, proper crowd control, and active security. I will not be attending another release like this unless major changes are made.

Very disappointing customer service experience at the Brentwood Sand Creek location. The process…read morefor retrieving the matching shoe was unnecessarily inefficient and frustrating. The sales associate had to search through a large number of shoes behind the register just to find the match. When I tried to provide feedback about how the process could be improved, the manager, Kyle, was dismissive and not receptive. His response was that the process came from corporate and was better than the previous process. While that may be true, there is still clearly room for improvement. Management should be more open to customer feedback, especially when it is intended to improve the customer experience.

Any questions I have they are prompt with answering. The staff and manager definitely need a raise because I have been to other boutique sneaker stores and the Shiekh's in Antioch has the best customer service. This time, I was just tagging along and didn't have anything on my shopping list, but my wife did. While she was looking for the shoes she wanted, or thought she wanted, I started browsing the men's section. I was impressed by the size of their selection. It's larger than at a couple of other DSW locations I've visited, with a good variety of dress and athletic shoes. Although tempted, I had already spent enough on shoes this month, so I passed! My wife found a nice-looking pair of brownish summer shoes that she loved, so that was it. At checkout, the young lady behind the counter was kind enough to check a couple of different accounts under our names to find and apply some rewards cash toward our purchase.

I was greeted, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the experience went downhill from there. I asked about a couple of specific shoes I was interested in, and they didn't have any in stock or even alternative color options. I tried asking about another style, and they offered me a much larger size to try--even though I had already given my correct size, which didn't make much sense. The staff didn't seem very engaged or knowledgeable about the products. Customer service felt lacking, and overall it didn't seem like there was much effort to help. This experience reminded me why I usually go elsewhere--other stores tend to be more knowledgeable and attentive. I'd recommend saving your time and checking out Road Runner Sports in Walnut Creek or Campbell (if you are ever in the area) who have better product knowledge and customer service.

Very disappointed with my experience at Nordstrom Rack…read more I purchased a shirt for my daughter just two days ago, and when she tried it on at home, it didn't fit and was also extremely see-through. I went back to the store hoping to either return it or at least exchange it for something that would work. The cashier was actually very nice and tried to be helpful. She asked her manager about the return, but unfortunately, the manager was very blunt and came across as rude when explaining that because it was Labor Day weekend, they were not accepting returns for red tags. I understand that stores have policies, but not allowing a return or even an exchange on an item purchased just two days earlier because of a holiday-weekend policy doesn't make much sense to me. I would have appreciated a little more understanding and better customer service from management. I have always associated the Nordstrom name with good customer service, so this experience was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this Nordstrom Rack.
