I assume this was done so the label could be removed later, but my concern is that if multiple specimens are handled this way, it could potentially lead to mix-ups or errors. Typically, results are available within a few days. It has now been a week, and I still have zero results. My doctor's orders are also no longer showing as pending, so I'm unsure what happened or where things stand. I'm hoping this was simply a delay and that my results will be available soon.

I don't know how we are going to solve our shortage in laboratories.

I had previously had appointments with 7 other psychiatrists who only took 15-30 min to talk with me, and I feel like they didn't actually care, and weren't putting in enough time to get my correct diagnosis. However, Tisha sat down with me for an hour (or more) and really took the time to listen to me, and ask thorough questions. She also took the time to explain (in basic language) what was happening in my brain (and didn't just refer me to online sources like so many others do). She's also not just trying to push pharmaceuticals, and she carefully lays out options and gives patients some autonomy in their own care. Tisha was very clear from the beginning that pharmaceuticals are great, but to really improve, I can't just pop a magic pill. I'd have to make some other lifestyle changes (which she also laid out clearly). I've never met a more THOUGHTFUL and CARING doctor ever. I truly believe she is the gold standard of psychiatric care. Recently the scheduling process has become even less customer friendly. Following is an example of how they operate: Yesterday mid day I received an email stating Mom's blood draw was scheduled for noon today. Then at 4:25 yesterday afternoon I received another email and text stating the appointment had been moved to 9 am. I immediately called and the phone was answered by an unprofessional sounding young woman who took over 10 minutes to locate the appointment. She then informed me it was too late to change it. I told her the 9 am time would not work and why. She said she'd send a message to someone (not sure who). Subsequently I texted, called, left a voicemail message, and sent an email requesting contact. No response. Fast forward to this morning. At 7:39 I received a text stating the technician was on his way. 30 seconds later I received a text stating work was finished. I immediately called and left another voicemail asking that someone contact me about scheduling. No one has. So to recap: this company scheduled an early appointment for the next day. I called within 15 minutes but they refused to change it, even though the time scheduled was their mistake. Then they showed up unannounced almost 90 minutes earlier than that! Wow. I've given this company 2 stars only because so far they haven't screwed up the actual blood draw. But as far as scheduling is concerned they seem to care more about their own convenience than that of my Mom. They literally just show up whenever they want.

When I arrived at SimonMed, the front desk and reception staff were absolutely wonderful. Kind, professional, and doing their best despite the facility running about 20 minutes behind schedule. Unfortunately, my experience took a sharp turn once I was taken back for imaging. The technician, Monica, informed me she was only going to perform a mammogram and stated there was "no need" for the ultrasound that my doctor had specifically ordered. While I do not have a medical background, I strongly believe a technician should not override or deny imaging ordered by a physician. When I explained that the ultrasound was likely ordered due to my medical history, she stated she would not complete it without prior pathology reports (something I was never informed ahead of time that I needed to bring). I asked if she could contact my primary care provider directly, and her response was that it was "too messy" and that I could call instead. I found the response to be shocking and incredibly unprofessional, and chose to contact my doctor to request the report. I also explained that I would be leaving the country for an extended period and needed to complete everything my doctor ordered during this visit. Only after I continued to advocate for myself did she finally complete both the mammogram and the ultrasound as originally prescribed. I want to be very clear: the ultrasound experience and the reception staff were phenomenal, compassionate, and professional. However, the mammogram portion, specifically the interaction with this technician, was stressful, dismissive, and completely avoidable. Because of this interaction, I do not feel comfortable returning to this facility, despite how outstanding the rest of the staff was. Patients should never have to fight for care that has already been deemed necessary by their physician... especially when dealing with something as serious and personal as breast health.
