Non stop laughs on a Tuesday date night. Stopped in here for dinner with my lovely fiancé for an after work date night. We were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The entire restaurant was filled with vibrant laughter and smiles. The food was equally as good as the service and guests. I had a grilled chicken bowl. The chicken tasted flavorful and the bowl was filled with vegetables and noodles. It was really good. Check them out for sure!!!

I had graduated from Texas State back in 2022. Before there were no good Vietnamese restaurants until PhoTran88 opened. That restaurant is good, but it wasn't the best. I recently visited San Marcos again and saw that PhoTran88 was closed on Sunday's. I kept looking through Yelp and Lab C Kitchen popped up. My friend and I both share the vermicelli noodle lunch combo and the pho lunch combo. I would like to say that both of these dishes were pretty spot on. I would like to say it's better than PhoTran 88 due to its quality of broth being more rich and flavorful as well as having more options especially since I saw they had Bún bò Huế too! AS WELL AS SEAFOOD BOIL which I find so interesting. I 100% recommend this place as it provides better quality and a more variety of options to choose from.

I decided to try Lab C Kitchen for the first time after hitting the gym for my post workout meal LOL. The restaurant itself was pretty empty when I went, but I was also surprised that it wasn't busier given the quality of the food. I ordered the steak and brisket pho. I usually go to Pho Tran 88 for pho, but I wanted to switch it up, and I'm glad I did because this place didn't disappoint! Steak and Brisket Pho - The broth was rich, flavorful, and comforting--the kind that warms you up instantly. The portion was filling, and I upgraded to the bigger bowl, but I did feel like there could have been more noodles and meat overall. Overall, the pho was delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

This is our second visit to Lab C. This time we brought friends because the food was so good. The owners greeted us immediately and they were able to accommodate our friend with a food allergy. We started with vegan egg rolls, and fried pork dumplings. I ordered the chicken stir fry. All of the food was delicious and cooked to order. Service is amazing and friendly. We'll definitely make this one of our regular spots.

Decided to try Lab C based on reviews. Looks to be newer and very clean and crisp inside. I picked a chicken stir fry that includes broccoli and fried rice and other small vegetables. The waiter asked me for how spicy I wanted it on a 1-5 scale. When I picked "3" he cautioned me based on his own experience so I lowered it to "2". I also ordered a jasmine tea. The tea was authentic and in a large metal pot with a lot of hot water. The bag of tea leaves was a cloth bag and huge. Kudos on this as I love a lot of hot tea. When the meal arrived it was huge. There were some chilled crisp greens, carrots and cucumbers for a salad with a serving of a sweet Thai dressing (delicious) and then a copious amount of fried rice under the chicken and vegetable mixture. The food was piping hot and presented nicely. The chicken was full of flavor but very very very spicy. I would have rated it closer to a "5". I like heat so it was delicious but a little painful. The broccoli was nicely done as well. The rice was also flavorful but drenched in either oil or a syrup or both... as the meal went on, it felt very heavy based on this. I expect a fried rice to be fluffy and dry with very little residual oil or moisture ... this wasn't. I took 2/3 of the meal home it was so filling... probably will eat the rest of the chicken and broccoli but not the rice. Overall, a good place and I'll give 4 stars for flavor, quantity, cleanliness and service but would probably like 3.5 based on the oiliness.

Loved this place. Food was fresh and all so delicious! The fried dumplings, steamed dumplings and cheese puffs were so good especially with their accompanying sauce. Egg rolls were just as amazing. When you order a plate, they ask you what spice level you would like. I can't do spicy but I chose level 2 and it was perfect for me. I may have noticed the spiciness with the first bite but that was it. I had the combo fried rice which included shrimp, chicken and pork. The shrimp were the spiciest. My husband got the Chicken Stir Fry Noodle Bowl at Level 3 for spiciness. I tasted his and there is no way I could do it that spicy. I have to say I prefer to just order shrimp in a restaurant of this type. I loved the chicken in my dish because it was grilled. Same with the pork. So fresh!! One of our friends loved the milk tea!! I think I can safely say that this is the best Asian/Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Way better than PF Chang's. This is a Vietnamese restaurant but has some similarities to other Asian restaurants. I think this was the first time for me to try a Vietnamese restaurant and I love it. The service was excellent. I took home a bottled Vietnamese Coffee but have not tried it yet. Can't wait to go back!

My husband, son and I were so excited to try Lab C. The decor is so fun and everyone working there was smiling, pleasant and helpful. This review is painful to write because we wanted to love this experience. I ordered the crispy vegan egg rolls. My husband and son both ordered the shrimp and pork egg rolls to start. We all ordered hot Jasmine tea. Our server brought us one teapot and three cups. The egg rolls came out and we placed our orders. I wanted to try the fried rice. My husband ordered the pork vermicelli bowl with 3 spice and our son ordered the traditional noodle soup 4 spice with chicken. My husband and son didn't like their egg rolls. They had a rubbery consistency and the ground pork inside the roll looked very unappetizing. I was happy with my crispy egg rolls. Our food came out quickly. There isn't soy sauce on the table so I put a small dash of hoisin sauce on my rice, which was full of peas and carrots and gave it a taste. My rice crunched and tasted exactly like Trader Joe's frozen fried rice. I had my son take a bite to confirm as he's eaten countless bags of Trader Joe's rice. He agreed it tasted the same and the rice was indeed crunchy. I put my plate of rice to the side and concentrated on my egg rolls. The server came and asked me about my rice. I advised her that it was hard and I just could not eat it. My husband's pork was unseasoned and looked like it was seared and dumped over the vermicelli. Our son's noodle soup with chicken had zero spice and looked (and tasted) exactly like boiled chicken water with a few greens thrown in. This guy will pretty much eat anything so after three bites he's done. I believe one of the owners came to apologize about my rice. She told me she had a fresh pan of rice and offered to remake my plate. I asked if I could have it without the peas . She said no, they buy it that way. I thanked her and passed. When our bill came we noticed that the charge for my rice had been removed, which was very nice. The spice level 3 for husband and 4 for son's meals were not ordered correctly as the receipt shows level 1 which accounts for the lack of flavor. We were confused that our one pot of tea, which was very good, cost almost 9 dollars. All in all it was an expensive, disappointing venture.

Great bowl it was my first time trying pho, service was great, I received a free bowl for my birthday, and my best friend received a college discount!

Their lunch special is half a serving of appetizer, entree, and drink. I got a spring roll, pho, and sweet tea. My bro got the bahn mi and rangoons. Good deal, friendly service, clean environment, the food was ok. Asian/American cuisine. For me it was bland. I think it needs some authenticity and maybe I'll try something else next time? They got a lot of food options.

Barely any meat in the pho when taken to-go. the soup is not your typical pho, it was a weird variant and maybe i am unfamiliar with this style of pho, but it was truly disappointing. The serving size was so small for $20 per pho and it was $8 for 2 crummy spring rolls that had one shrimp cut in half for each spring roll. The other reviewer that said the peanut sauce was wack, was correct. it was not the normal sauce, it was some weird oil with peanut butter bits floating in it. The crab rangoons were not bad. I just really would not recommend this to someone who really loves pho." - I said this a month ago and took it down because the owner called to harass me questioning why I left a bad review. She called me 2-3 times at 9-10pm at night trying to get ahold of me. She left a voicemail saying she wanted to talk in person and explain to me the purpose of "tax" and "having to pay for bills." At this point I was scared and removed my review but let me just say, if I could leave 0 stars, I would.

What was meant to be a quick lunch stop in Bastrop turned into an ordeal my kids had to witness. When the surprise charge appeared, I asked our waitress where the policy was disclosed. She didn't know. Neither did her colleagues. When I asked to see it posted, a staff member threatened to call the police on us for asking. We finally reached the owner by phone, who pointed to fine print on the menu cover that his own staff didn't know existed. The highlight for this food place are their fresh, flavorful Pho with tender meats, excellent egg rolls, good Banh Mi, and attentive service. Some may find it slightly pricey but I feel the value is fair. I love the homemade broth and generous portions, making it a very good spot for authentic Vietnamese food. Meat portions are generous, especially the tender brisket and rare steak in Pho. Good portions, often enough for two meals, making it feel worth the price. Huge, well-filled egg rolls are a big hit. Decent, fresh, classic ingredients, especially Pho and sandwich. I easily noticed their quick, attentive, and polite staff. The restaurant exudes a bright, modern, and clean atmosphere. A point for consideration: when ordering, use the number/letter code instead of the food name to prevent any mistakes. My son who happens to be a vegan ordered a vegan Banh Mi (Banh Mi Chay) which has almost the same food name as a pork Bahn Mi (Banh Mi Cha Lau). They served a pork Bahn Mi, it took some time for my son to realize that he was eating a pork sandwich. It was partly a mistake from both sides, we did not blame the restaurant. The restaurant manager/owner was kind enough to give my son a complimentary fresh vegan Banh Mi upon everybody realizing the mistake. I was glad that my son never had a stomach upset that night. Despite the mishap, I am still giving this restaurant a high rating. One of the best Pho I have ever tasted.
