Too expensive. Long wait time. Very uncomfortable! This is my 3rd Lazy-Boy purchase and the quality has gone downhill.

I've spent thousands at this store over the years, but after this last experience, I'm done. I bought an "as-is" piece that was in great shape at the store. I told them specifically not to deliver on Tuesday, but they ignored me and showed up anyway. The delivery team dropped the furniture on its side, snapping the hardware, and then lied to the person at my house, telling them the damage was already there before it fell. They got the delivery signed off under false pretenses. I've been calling weekly for over a month now. They even wasted my time by making me come into the store for a refund, only to claim they couldn't process it via Apple Pay. It feels like they're just stalling and hoping I'll go away. After being told I could choose any of their leathers, I special ordered a $3200 leather recliner. I then chose my accent chairs, rug, pillows, room wall color, and artwork to work with the chair. Everything else has been delivered, and now, six weeks after ordering, I'm told La-Z-Boy has discontinued my leather! Their other leather choices are very blah and won't go with the things I bought. Six weeks to realize they have discontinued it...REALLY? I am soooo angry and no one will help. Avoid them at all costs. I bought two couches in here in the last six months great customer service and lots of choice Very prompt delivery.

I have no idea how this place has a good rating. In April of 2025, John Stagi sold me a custom made Tahoe sectional. I visited the store and fell in love with the Tahoe. Four months later, on or around Aug 2, 2025 the couch was delivered and it was NOTHING like the couch I sat on! That day I emailed and called several times complaining about both of the arms of the couch literally falling off and the middle of the couch not having any support which caused everyone to sort of fall over to the center. It reminded me of the Pixar movie with the birds on the phone line. I emailed and called multiple times to which I got no response. Before this complaint about the defects, they were incredibly responsive. But once I told them there was something wrong, they cut me off. After I FINALLY got ahold of store manager, Brian Hernandez, he refused to believe me when I told him about the guarantees John Stagi made. Brian refused to believe that anything was wrong with the couch because it was custom made for me. The couch was so uncomfortable and nothing like the model in the store that when I told Brian on the phone, he basically called me a liar, which upset me very, very much. On or around August 28th, a nice Lazy Boy repairman came and confirmed that the couch was INDEED defective! He confirmed that there was zero support in the center and the arms so poorly designed that there was no way to make it stay on. Five months after purchasing, one month after delivery, two weeks after multiple defects confirmation, I am still no closer to getting this fixed! My back hurts, I am further damaging the couch (which as you can see from the screenshots is nonrefundable or replaceable) which basically means I spent $4,142 on a pile of $*!# Thanks for nothing, John, Brian and Lazy Boy. Scammers and fraudsters. John Stagi and Brian, the store manager, will lie to you, sell you an item in the store, and then deliver something completely different to your home. When you call to complain, they will call you a liar and give you the runaround. This is a terrible place! My $2500 recliner broke after 6 months and it has now taken many unanswered phone calls to get someone out (2 weeks) tech had no parts to fix had to order parts (3 more weeks) and 10 unanswered phone calls to get tech back out finally get someone to put us on a list to call back (2 weeks) then finally getting tech scheduled (2 more weeks). Tech came out today oh the main board is out I need another part and have to order. How many more months do I have to wait to get my chair fixed from a manufacture defect! Avoid this location! Late February I was sold a power recliner by Brian Hernandez, the store manager. The chair is designed for a person no taller than 5'9". I am 6' tall and Mr. Hernandez did not mention this descrepancy. I bought it on clearance so it was not returnable. I just sold it for less than 50% the purchase price. As I am getting older, I am becoming more aware of tripping hazards and decided to get rid of my very well-loved but aging leather chair with it's matching hassock, because I was always having to inch my way around the hassock to go into another room. Sooner or later it was going to cause a fall. I also needed more seating room for when our sons visited. I decided to look at Laz-Y-Boy on Stevens Creek Blvd. in San Jose. Bryan Hernandez came to help me and he was great to work with. He's friendly and very knowledgeable. He wasn't at all pushy and showed me many options. I decided on the Trouper reclining loveseat with console. It has many options: charging plate for a phone, hidden electrical plugs and USB ports for charging iPads, Kindles, phones, etc. The reclining features are all electric and the model I chose, besides the usual reclining features also has head adjustments and lumbar support adjustments. There is an attachable tray to hold things one might want to have on hand, and a storage drawer that was a bonus, because I didn't know it was there until the delivery people showed it to me. It also has drink holders, which, for the time being, I am using to store my remotes. When the "kids" are here, they will hold glasses or bottles of their preferred beverages, so no wet glass marks on a table!! After my initial visit, I went back a few weeks later for a special one-day sale Bryan had told me about and ordered the loveseat of my choice in a nice brown leather. I was told it would take about 6-8 weeks and I'd definitely have it for the holidays. It took 5 weeks. I was happily surprised. Delivery people were very efficient and pleasant. Very thankful to her for being very professional, knowledgeable and open to supporting all of our questions. Went to the Blossom Hill store previously and was told by the salesperson that the fabric we liked was not only unavailable but that I would not be able to find it. Additionally, the salesperson contested online published dimensions. Thankful we persisted and went to a different store. Also, the Steven's Creek showroom feels different as soon as you walk in and showcases their items much better. It was worth the drive and worth the $$ to get the exact chair in the exact fabric we wanted! Same owners, but it's the salesperson who makes all the difference. I have never enjoyed shopping and buying furniture for a La-Z-Boy recliner and sofa as much as my experience here with Sunita. I finally got my husband to just take a look at getting a recliner to swap out his old dark colored recliner -- to finally get a lighter color lazyboy recliner to match my new colors at home. But he was very hesitant to replace his beloved recliner. Plus we dislike dealing with pressured sales environment but we luckily got Sunita and she was SO knowledgeable on providing all the information about different recliners, my husband and I actually enjoyed learning all the different features and functions of different types of recliners. And we ended up getting a higher model because it was objectively a better fit and support -- we are both desk workers and really love support at the end of the workday watching our favorite shows. So we appreciated Sunita who was not trying to sell, but truly provided the breadth of knowledge and experience -- that helped me nail down fabric, leather, and special options like liquid protection-treated leather and for fabric too - so I ended up purchasing a new sectional too because with my boys now growing up, with more teens hanging out at the house, I realized it was time to get a fabric I liked with the stain resistant and get to enjoy the laz-a-boy comfort. Sunita was super patient with all my gazillion questions and i tried several samples to take home and she was always so encouraging and informative about different options and helping me analyzing pros and cons , and totally could figure out what I wanted pressure free. Shopping for furniture is tiring..you really can get tired of sitting on sofa after sofa after sofa. But its an investment so do the work. Lazyboy has been around forever. And their recliners still look the same as they did 25 yrs ago. Except now you can probably get a powered version. But they also have sofas, loveseats and chairs without the grandpa vibes. We chose Lazyboy for the quality and the customization. Sales happen often so wait til they have a 30% off or clearance. Delivery is $150, haul away is $150. So maybe you'll get lucky and get a 30% off plus free delivery. Skip the Lazyboy website- prices are not the same and it gets overwhelming. Salespeople are friendly and helpful. And if u visit frequently like I did, remember who helped you-seems like they are commision based. Wait time for custom orders is 10 weeks. Delivery is a 3hr window, but our guys were 30mins early (7:30 am! yawn) Fast and tidy. Happy with our sofa and lazygirl chair. read more

Purchased a sofa at Laz Boy on 3529 Steven's Creek Blvd, San Jose, Ca, on 2/3/24 , less than 1 year later one of. the cushions started to bulging in the front. There is a 3 year warranty on the cushions,the store said we were sitting on them wrong and that's why they were bulging . They said that there was nothing they could do to correct that. A repair man came to repair it and he said that the cushion needed to be replaced. The store would not replace the cushion. Lazboy is not honoring their warranty. The repair man explained to us that the glue was not bonding the fabric to the foam cushion and the whole cushion needed to be replace. This sofa costs over 3500.00 dollars,you would think it outdated last more than over a year before it showed signs of wear. read more

It's time for a new chair or two. Our old Lazboy chairs are about 25 years old. We knew it was time as one didn't recline much at all. Mine did recline but made a grinding noise as it did. The first chairs I looked at were lift chairs as we knew one would be needed in maybe 5 years. The second one needed to match and be a wallhugger one. Evan helped me on day one and explained lift chairs. On day two both of us came in and Joey helped greatly just letting us sit, raise, and feel them out. We asked plenty of questions, and he took time to answer them. (color, fabric, fabric protection, delivery, and hauling away old ones.) Extra options like upgraded padding. Next came the price as the sale was 25% off everything in the store. They had to order them to get matching colors of the fabric and for fabric protection. We will enjoy them when they come in. One of the salesmen tried to tell me that an order would be six months out. I called another store and they said it would be one and a half months. When I went to the store, the guy finally told the truth, only because he knew I talked to another store. Later I asked to finance the furniture, but he said it would be a Big hit on my credit score, which was a lie. He later told me that I needed to put some money down because WF had a new policy so I did. Guy had a really hard time telling the truth. Don't recommend that store. read more

We bought a sectional fabric couch (6k) and a recliner (2k) and received them in 2022. They both look so terrible now and I regret this purchase so much! I even paid extra for custom fabric. $8000 down the drain! The stuffing in the couch looks like a mess. They came out to add stuffing one time and it's only gotten worse since then. The recliner is in awful condition after only a couple years of normal use. The fabric is piling and looks so worn. We've also had issues with the electrical components. The warranty has been super hard to deal with. I would never buy from lazy boy ever again! read more

**UPDATE** See below? The store responded in approx 30 minutes after I posted the first review-faster than they've ever gotten back to me (the customer!) about this issue. Also, a one liner about fabric piling. Guess what? Corporate is saying it's not piling. And no one told me when I purchased this massive sofa I'd need to shave the whole thing in the beginning to "maintain" it even if it was piling. And, did you see when I mentioned I tested it on a portion of the fabric and it made it worse?! Why even reply if you don't address the real issue here? Essentially the sofa is covered in little piles and loops of fabric. Looks bad, feels bad to sit on. And now I'm out 6k since the only thing the store can promptly do is reply to my google review. Consumer, do you see what I'm talking about? BUYER BEWARE! Purchased a sectional over 6k from here. Within 6 months tremendous amount of fabric piling. Sofa looks haggard and worn like it's a ten year old piece. Reached out to this store (where I made purchase) and was told to purchase fabric shaver as this was needed regular maintenance. Crazy in my opinion since the sectional is huge and the fabric piling is occurring all over the thing. Tested on small amount of fabric and shaving amplified problem so I stopped. Recontacted local store who had tech come out to see cushions. Pictures taken and sent to warranty/customer care. Denied. Apparently this to them looks like fabric "looping" not piling which is not under warranty. So yes, they admit to seeing the fabric looping all over the massive sectional-but claim that's caused by in home use. Despite having no pets or shoes inside, all our bodies do is sit on the sofa like normal people but La-Z-Boy's current position is that this is a problem I've caused. So basically zero customer service or standing by their product. This is literally the most expensive thing I've bough for my home and I'm so disappointed. Wish I had purchased a sofa from Costco or elsewhere as they at least have customer service. For 6k you think I'd get a better answer than shave the fabric and don't sit on the sofa. Would 1000% never recommend buying from here. While in store they constantly drop how great their product is and throw around their warranty to hook you in. But when there's actually a problem? Hah. Absolutely silly experience with this store and their policy. We purchased a recliner model and went to pick up the model from the warehouse. 1st: the model they gave us and put on our purchase order was incorrect. 2nd: we went into the store to show that it was incorrect and was ok with replacing with the floor model. We asked if instead of having us drive over to return the unit (which was their mistake), we requested to drop off the model at their store. They declined to do so and told us we need to return it to their warehouse on their own mistake. My wife is 38 weeks pregnant with two other toddlers so going again out of our way to correct their mistake, they have no middle ground. Instead of working out their customer service and realizing their business model is just going to annoy customers, they would rather turn away business. Whatever works for you I guess. read more
