Update 7/19/2026. I got a note from Richard F via Yelp about this review (see attached new image). They claim that "We have explained to him a few times be he still unhappy". That is not true. This is the first time I'm hearing about that. At the time I contacted them multiple times and they never explained there was any unusal delays with shipping. They also never attributed the delays to COVID. The fact that they continue to lie about this 5 years after the fact is one more reason to stick to my 1-star review and suggest everyone to avoid this place. Note that this is the second time they lie on yelp about this case. The first one was them claiming the purchase never happened and bringing down my original review (which is why this is a repost) and now claiming that they had given me explanations about the delay which is just not true. read more

We've bought 3 different deliveries from Patio World (table, chairs/sofa, fire table) and I don't agree with the 1 star reviews on here. A lot of the reviews complain about delivery time but in my experience, Richard has always been clear about what's in stock and we've always taken delivery in the same week or so. Other patio furniture places have delivery timeframes for out-of-stock pieces just as long or longer. If anything my opinion is that Patio World is way underrated compared to other stores in the South Bay. They have the best selection of contemporary furniture for a clean look. They often have very good discounts and great prices overall for mid-level stuff. Their manufacturers generally seem reputable (unlike all the ultra-cheap big box store suppliers with shoddy powder coating). Other stores around this area seem stuck in the 90s with overly traditional styles. My advice is, visit the store and take a look around, you'll be impressed compared to their current Yelp rating. Ignore the low reviews with generic stock and quality complaints, and just set your expectations against the purchase contract and manufacturers. This place is underrated and deserves more attention. read more

Last Spring I purchased new deck furniture for a mountain cabin at your Sunnyvale store. Richard Han Feng was my salesperson, and he was fabulous. So, this week when I needed new outdoor furniture for my Palo Alto patio, I went back to visit Richard. At both visits to the Sunnyvale store Richard carefully listened to me, and showed me all options. His knowledge of your inventory is 100%. I always felt that he was working for me, to get me the furniture that was best for my needs and considerate of costs. He was never pushy or tried to sell me more than I needed. I find that strategy exhausting and I don't go back to stores where that happens. One great example of RIchard putting me first: I bought 2 beautiful chaise lounges. Richard informed me that custom covers are available. When I said that I would buy those, he recommended purchasing the covers after the chaise lounges were delivered and I was certain that they were right for my patio. He told me that while I could return the chaise lounges, I could not return the custom covers. That made perfect sense, and I followed his recommendation. read more

We've had such a good experience with Patio World in Sunnyvale! We are so happy with all the pieces of furniture we found only at this store! We get so many compliments on the items and we're so pleased with the quality of the pavilion (tent), teak extendable dining table and umbrellas! We smile every time we step out to our backyard! Richard, the manager, guided us through all our selections and with his superb knowledge of great products the store carries, it turned out to be both exciting and easy to decide which of the wonderful items in the store we wanted to purchase! Many trips to the store later, Richard never wavered from being on top of his game and giving great service with such a winning smile! Another superstar is Christian at the Hayward warehouse who always gave his best effort to help over the phone! He made the delivery scheduling go without a hitch despite the number of times I had to reschedule! And the delivery crew was so professional and efficient, the long-awaited delivery and setup of a pavilion and cantilever umbrellas went ever so smoothly! Not worth 1 star but wouldn't let me post without one. Horrible customer service when warranting 2 expensive tropatone lounge slings I had custom made to replace my old ones. They were just under 2 years old. They basically disinegrated. I was first told they would replace the fabric. What good is that to me. I still have to have them made. Then I was told they wouldn't even replace the fabric. The original fabric had been discontinued. Most likely because it was cheap and didn't last. I have no children or pets to destroy it. I always put them out of the weather. My previous ones lasted 15 years. Needles to say I will not be doing business with Patioworld. read more

It's a lovely store with lots of quality outdoor furniture. We only went in to just look but in the end we purchased an outdoor dining set and umbrella. Richard, the manager, was so helpful. He and answered all our questions and educated us on all the new styles. We were told since our items were in stock we would probably have them in two weeks. We recently visited the Patioworld store in Sunnyvale. The store is large, well stocked, and laid out nicely with lots of varieties and styles of outdoor furniture. It is clean, spacious and well lit. The store manager, Richard Feng, was very professional, courteous and well-informed. He had all the positives of a seasoned salesman; he knew when to appear with information and assistance, and he knew when to leave us to explore on our own. Richard made us a very fair deal on a patio seating set, and it was a true pleasure to work with a man of integrity who has a sincere desire to maintain a positive relationship with what will end up to be a repeat customer. Everyone in the customer service realm could take a Master Class from this man. After the purchase, I was promptly contacted by the warehouse to schedule a convenient delivery. The delivery driver also called me in advance to confirm his ETA. The delivery was prompt, professional and well managed by the gentlemen who carefully delivered and placed our new furniture. We had a great experience, bought quality, comfortable, attractive furniture, and were particularly refreshed by the stellar customer service. A true rarity today. read more

We purchased 6 patio armchairs last week to use with our existing patio table. Good showroom with choices. Les Jardin design very nice, and quality looks excellent. Richard, the store manager, was very helpful in showing us available style and color options. Also, he kindly let us take one showroom chair home to see how it fit with our table. We brought it back that afternoon, even though he had said we could keep it overnight if necessary. This trial allowed to feel very comfortable with this purchase. We ordered O.W. Lee patio furniture from Richard Feng at the Sunnyvale location of Patio World in February of last year. Our timing was unfortunate, because O.W. Lee was relocating their factory to Texas, and Covid was snarling supply chains all over the world. Richard warned us of likely delays due to O.W. Lee's move when we placed the order, but we liked the style so much we ordered anyway. To make a long story short, the furniture was delayed as predicted, but Richard was unfailingly apologetic, courteous, and prompt in getting us updated ETAs from the factory, and we have finally received the furniture and are extremely happy with the quality. We've since been back several times to order additional furniture from him. read more

The chair that I purchased from Patio World had a NAIL sticking out from it. Obviously very dangerous. The worst part is that the waranty department after a lot of going back and forth and requesting pictures etc claimed that we never purchased the chairs there. This is obviously untrue. We spent around $9k for outdoor furniture. We were told everything we ordered was in stock and would take a month for delivery. Two months later I call to find out the status. It was delivered a week later. We ordered a cocktail table that had a light underneath but it came with no battery! When I called about it Richard said the battery wasn't included. Made no sense but he offered to give me the stores battery. I had to drive down and get it. Secondly I wanted to return two swivel chairs that were too big for our space. A nightmare. Their policy is to return within 24 hours. Store is closed 3 days and I didn't make the cut. After being so angry and discussed with senior manager, they finally agreed to take them back. (They were still wrapped in plastic.). The restock fee and delivery return cost almost $1,000 so buyer beware. Will never use this vendor again. read more

We needed a patio rug to create the impression of an "outdoor room" when staging our home for an appraisal. Nothing defines a space like an area rug. So we ventured into this store while getting the car washed at Lozano's -- way convenient! The store is set up with lots of very cool outdoor living displays. The one employee was very friendly and greeted us immediately. She seemed to know exactly what we were looking for, and directed us to it in the back room. She was willing to open up rug rolls so we could see exactly what we were getting, even though they were not on display. We spotted one and were happy with the price, too! Usually I'd order that sort of thing online, but this was fantastic in a pinch. I'm glad they had a black print, for drama. This made the backyard patio much more special. Rugs are also a great way of hiding cement cracks, small holes, or stubborn lil' weeds, or anything else you think shows the age of the house or deferred maintenance. They also can visually enhance the appearance of cheaper outdoor furniture by giving the table and chairs a fancy platform. (Our patio furniture cost us all of $20.) We leave the rug out year-round. We'll definitely go back to Patioworld the next time we get the car washed; never know what great ideas we'll get! read more

Very unhappy with my purchase even though it came with a life time warranty. I went just before my warranty expired to replace two ripped seats and to my surprise I was charged $60 for the new material (for 4 chairs) as shipping cost. I told them I can pick it up from their store and they should order it but I was told I still had to pay the shipping cost (!?!)PLUS hire someone to change the seats. Labor costs can run high, so how is this covered under warranty! They should have fixed the chairs for free! Ridiculous. I had spent over $5K for this backyard furniture and now will have tomore money to replace the ripped seats. Never again. Save yourself some money - go to Target. Update: PatioWorld, Thank you for taking the time to address this. Ok so to make it clear, I had a certificate given to me at the time of purchase that said "Lifetime Warranty" which was for 10 years from date of purchase. It was supposed to cover the replacements of all chair fabrics once during the 10 years but it really did not. The result is the fabric was only given to me for 4 chairs and I had to pay the shipping cost of $60. I was not given fabric for all the pieces. I still need to get this replacement done. I was told when I bought it that it will be replaced by the company free of any costs. It's just not right to mislead a customer this way - when they invested a lot of money in patio furniture. The warranty and promise to replace all seats within 10 years was the reason I finally decided to buy that furniture at that time. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a patio set with extra chairs from Richard Han Feng at Patioworld in Sunnyvale. The experience and service from Richard was wonderful. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about all the choices. He was never pushy and very informative about the choices. I walked into Patioworld ready to buy two chase lounge cushions today. I asked for the price and the lady there told me the price and then proceeded to be totally rude because I didn't know the exact dimension of my chase lounge. I pointed to a few on the floor and I said oh about that long and she said oh I don't know how long that is. Totally rude and unhelpful. Oh well I will just buy online from Lowe's or Home Depot. I didn't even mind the higher price because I wanted to get it right away, but no totally rude and unhelpful... obviously did not want to sell. My husband and I are thrilled with our new patio furniture. We purchased a love seat, two swivel chairs and a beautiful Kona 42" firepit PLUS 4 new 11' umbrellas with great stands on wheels for easy placement. We also purchased covers for each piece. We enjoyed working with Richard at the Sunnyvale store, he has worked there for about 12 years and really knew his products. Our purchases are of the best quality and already we are enjoying the luxury and comfort the pieces bring to our backyard. A few years ago, we bought some outdoor furniture from Patioworld and love them. But our latest experience with them has been terrible. We ordered a dining set and were told the side chairs were back ordered BUT that it was not going to be a long wait - 3 weeks max. Because we've had COVID-related delays with other furniture, I expressly asked: is this going to be one of those long delays? And I was assured that it was not. I've lost count of how many times I've called to follow up in the last two months, but they keep saying someone from the warehouse will follow up with me - and no one ever does. After my insistence, they agreed to deliver the pieces that were not backordered, but said that we have to go pick up the chair when they arrive (if they ever do). And we have been charged for these chairs and there is no telling if we'll get them before the summer is over. Avoid them if you can. read more

I walked in here thinking wow what a great place but I can't give this place more than three stars because they are so darn expensive. I am surprised they are not in a wealthier area. They sell all kinds of nice patio furniture, but as soon as I saw a few of the price tags I walked out. This place is near my home and I never see any cars in the parking lot. We spent just under $5000 on a beautiful patio set for our backyard at Patioworld Sunnyvale. The quality of the furniture seems to be great. Extremely disappointed in the customer service and follow up. We were promised that our purchase was in stock, when we requested delivery, we received only half of our couch and told that the rest of the furniture would be delivered at a later date (months later). At the time of order, we also ordered fitted furniture covers to protect our new purchase. When the furniture was all finally delivered, no covers were included. We worked with Richard and after multiple calls to the distribution center and finally going back down to the store, we were told that our covers were never ordered, though we paid for them, and that the covers that we purchased were no longer available. Instead, we were given an ill-fitting cover for a portion of our couch and Richard was unwilling to compensate us for the inconvenience and sold us something that he couldn't deliver on. The quality of the furniture in the store seems good. However, I would not return to buy anything else here because the customer service is so terrible and so unaccommodating! read more

There are a lot of places that you can find high end patio furniture. Patio World is one of them. They have been in business for 35 years and have stores all over California. They have a good selection of furniture at competitive (but still expensive) prices. IF (and I say IF)nothing goes wrong, I suppose it would be a decent place to find patio furniture. But be forewarned, if you need any after sales service, you will have a miserable experience. We had one of the chairs break while still under warranty and have spent six months (yes, 6 MONTHS) without resolution. Even though all their staff is polite, they have not replaced the chair. Two and a half months ago, they told me that I needed to pay the shipping (over $80) to have the replacement shipped from the manufacturer. They wanted the $$ then because the replacement was ready to ship. After the early delays in this process, I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could resolve it with them directly. I reached a sympathetic regional distribution manufacturer's representative who told me that agreement that the manufacturer had with Patio World was to handle the warranty process. Throughout this fiasco, I have been told repeatedly that the replacement was ready to ship. As a final tip, look very carefully at the construction of the furniture you select. This stuff is very expensive and a cursory inspection makes one think that it is pretty well made. But much of it has weld spots that will be under large stress and subject to breakage. If ever there was a case of "caveat emptor" this class of furniture (and Patio World) is it. Addendum: Shortly after writing this initial review, a second chair broke in exactly the same way. Instead of going through this horror story again, I dropped it off at a local welding shop in the morning and got it back fixed up good as new that same afternoon....for $75. read more

Terrible. Buyer beware. We ordered an $8000 sectional last year. The salesperson came to our house with fabrics. Three weeks later we were told that it was not available. We got it from Flegels and it was delivered within the normal special order window. Fast forward 9 months to May 5. We purchased $9000 worth of patio furniture and needed one more piece. It was supposed to take 7 weeks. We have received the cushions but not the frame. It is now August 5 and the summer is almost over and they have no idea if we will ever receive the frame. Keep in mind that we have already paid $2k for it. Time to cancel the order and call Flegels again. When you call the store, they always refer you to the warehouse and tell you that it is closed. Therefore, no customer service. Glad I am writing this review; my next call is to AMEX to dispute my charges! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I will never shop here again which is a shame because they have nice furniture. I ordered a dining table and chairs from this Patio World location. It was a beautiful set but once it arrived I realized it just didn't work in our back yard. It's too much money to keep something that just doesn't work. Long story short - I called the same day I received it inquiring about how to return. Was assured that I could sleep on it and initiate the return in the morning. I confirmed in the a.m. I wanted to return and spent the next 3 hours trying to confirm when they could pick it up and/or where I needed to drop it off - they didn't seem to know how to do returns. Then at 1pm I get a call saying they can not pick it up that day and I needed to have it back in Sunnyvale by 6pm to avoid a 20% restocking fee. WHAT?! When I told them this is going to be impossible since I'm at work but can bring it the following day, he said, just rent a UHaul. It needs to be here today. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! He was. I ended up having to leave work with an emergency furniture situation, rent a UHaul, have someone leave work too to help me load it and get it back to the store by 6. Have never been so irate in my life. Sadly, there was another set were were interested in but I will never shop here again. I've bought tons of furniture at Room and Board and their customer service is amazing. If something doesn't work they pick it up no questions asked. I expected the same from this store since it's pretty high end furniture but that definitely wasn't the case. Very disappointing. read more

We had a mixed experience here. Our experience in the showroom was positive, the staff were friendly and helpful, they helped us find the furniture that we wanted and we made an order of reasonable size. However, we have had a very poor experience with delivery. We were required to reschedule our original delivery date (which was already about ~2 weeks after the target referenced at ordering) and told that someone would call us the next day to determine a new time. Day 2: No one has called us back, so we call the store again. Told they will look into it. Day 3: Still, no one has called us back, we call again. At this point we're given a number to call for the warehouse instead. But, no resolution will be had this day -- they apparently close at 3pm. Day 4: We call the warehouse, it is claimed there was a miscommunication on their end, they had us down as needing to call (no apologies for this were made, and how this could be the case with us calling 3 days in a row I'm not really sure). We now have another delivery date that's at this point almost 2 weeks out, we're looking to receive our furniture ~1 month after the estimated arrival. Reasonably disappointed overall. The showroom selection was good but the delays and interaction with the warehouse side have been poor. read more

Did i mentioned good customer service, Of course their staff are well knowledgeable about their products. i went here to just browse and the staff are well aware greeted me and gave me a good experience for the first time coming in the store, their staff helped me and gave me full details on their products, made my experience so top notch. i will always recommend this store to all my friends and family.
