The service felt rushed. The file machine was used pretty recklessly and my nails were filed super thin. I pulled my hand away in pain yelping ow multiple times. Also walked away with both me and the nail tech bleeding. The nail tech was super apologetic but still not ideal. Now I will say the end product was good which is where the 3rd star comes from. La vie has been here for years and when I was young, I e came here. The service was always sub par but now, it is just plain awful. The women are very pushy for services even if you say no, they ask many more times, nails being put on are crooked and not aligned correctly, I swear they talk trash and laugh and when you ask you they pretend like the conversation never happened. I think the only service I ever got that I loved here was the eye brow waxing. Done quick and perfect. When I was given a pedicure, the nail tech barely scrubbed my feet and was rough. I forgot her name.. but she was rough and made my big toe bleed. I stopped going there and found a better spot for nails with people who are friendly, can do an amazing pedicure and manicure and put on nails correctly! I found myself at a beauty conference in Napa and didn't have any time to get my nails done in advance, and they were in badddd shape. During one of the breaks I was able to sneak away and get my nails done here. I believe the person who helped me was named Julie, I asked for a hard gel manicure and she did not disappoint. I also got a pedicure and I found that to be really nice as well. Should I find myself in Napa again I will definitely be coming back here. DO NOT GO HERE! Service was absolutely horrible, I had to ask the guy to fix my nails about 5 times. When I tried asking for someone else nobody helped me. I was tempted to leave but had acrylic on my nails already. I asked for long nails and I got short stubby nails. I got cut multiple times. He was very aggressive when squeezing my hand and even hit my hand at one moment. He was screaming at me in front of customers when I asked him to fix it. What is with the electric nail filer these nail salons are using? I told the manicurist not to use this on my nails because they file too close and the nail hurts when in the gel lamp. I walked in to get acrylic soak off and he did a really great job removing my nails. My nails grew out a lot under the acrylic and he managed to save my natural nails. He took his time and soaked them off the right way. Other salons I've been to in town just pried them off with a nail tip to save time (ruining my natural nails because they literally ripped a layer of nail off.) Manicures I receive are adequate but not "good.". Used to get quality work here years ago but speed & tips is all that seems to matters to them So I never expect much from their manicures and pedicures. I saw two credit card transactions occur while I was waiting for my appointment. When they completed my service, I gave her my credit card. she said "you have cash?". Then she put card back in my hand. I replied, "No I don't think so". I tried to giver her my card. "You accept credit cards". "No, you look see if you have cash. You look and pay with cash". I quelled my anger and paid cash. Thought about reporting them for refusing my credit card. If there's a next time, I'm going in with just a credit card and my phone. No CASH. Thought about calling the DA's Consumer Affairs office. They've been helpful in the past. I probably will do so because I saw them do two card transactions before refusing to allow me to pay with my card. read more

I am very disappointed with this place!! I usually come here to get my nails done, but my experience was different this time. I asked for coffin shape but my nail tech said it was too hard .. Ummmm okay???? So we stuck with square shape! Every time I would ask her to shorten my nails a little more she would give me dirty looks (which by the way is very unprofessional). Let's start with, "I am a $20 tipper for a wonderful foot massage, and I've been known to drop $50 on a massager who sent me to La La Land." Today I ask for the polish on the toes to be changed and I am told it will cost $15.00. Okay. Then, I say I would also like a foot massage. In response, I am told I cannot have a foot massage unless I get a pedicure! Okay! I really want the polish changed, so I agree. The lady takes polish remover and removes the polish, leaving residual from the polish that has just been removed on the sides of the toe nails and on the cuticles. She then proceeds to apply a base coat to the toe nails that still have polish remover on the nails and residual polish remover around the sides of the toes and the cuticles. WHAT!?!? IN THE 55 YEARS I HAVE BEEN GETTING PEDICURES, POLISH CHANGES AND MASSAGES ... THAT WAS A FIRST ... A BASE COAT ON TOP OF NAIL POLISH REMOVER ... NO! NO! AND, NO! The woman did not understand simple English. "I want the polish changed and a foot massage." One would imagine given all of the services being offered in this establishment that there would be a service called "Polish change and foot massage" that a "fee" could be applied to. There was actually a time where I could come into La Vie and get exactly what I wanted and the people were kind. Those days are gone! read more

Did not love this salon. First time here and I felt like everything they did for me was an inconvenience. My tech was very unfriendly and rough with my hands and feet. I asked for a 10min massage and she said ok with a sigh. She never showed me a timer like every other salon always does, pretty sure I got a 5min massage at best. The massage was terrible too. My gel mani was done in under 10mins... it was like she was trying to get me out of there ASAP. She used her nails to clean off excess polish which hurt like hell. Why not use a brush with acetone to clean up lines?? In the end my nails look passable from far but the gel is definitely too tick and the lines aren't clean at all. I will say that my tech ended with a little neck massage, which was probably the best part of this experience. After $70 and a $15 tip, it was definitely not worth it. Drove one hour to napa walked in and was told I had no reservation and they had no availability. The manner in which this situation was handled for a previous customer was rude and unprofessional. I went here in hopes of finding a new nail salon closer to my house, and was sadly mislead by the nice decor and wonderful location. I gave 2 stars because the man who I spoke to on the phone got me right in and was really polite and friendly, but other than him, I would have given 1 star. I got dip, which I've been doing for quite some time now. It took the woman 2 hours to do my nails, as she had to file and buff multiple nails 3 or 4 times because she wasn't doing a step right. My nails are uneven, bumpy and I had to file them significantly myself when I got home. Let alone that this cost me $50 and 2+ hours of my time. Will not be returning here. I don't pay that much money for a mediocre job. Wouldn't recommend based on the experience I personally had. I had a very nice experience at La Vie Nail Spa, while I was there on a Monday running errands. My godmother recommended this place to me since it is her go to salon in the Napa Valley. This was my first visit and I would definitely go back if I'm in the area next time. Very spacious salon with many chairs for pedicures, as well as tables to get a manicure. $35 for a gel manicure. I always select OPI colors because I believe they last longer and they do not irritate my skin. The color I am wearing on my nails in the photo is "Brisbane Bronze". Nice people working here. Been twice, giving a chance, both pedicures. Bad both times. Low quality work. It seems the employees are well-trained to do the wrong thing. Three times I caught them trying to cut or break the corner of my big toenail. Even after i said NO Clipping. (i clip my own) Finally, she snuck it in while i was relaxing. Now this toenail has become ingrown and painful. I could go back every few weeks to have it cut out again and again, but that's why they do it, isn't it? Not just a rip-off, but dangerous, too! Secondly, the pedicurist and i discussed No Massage, please. None. Although there is the language barrier, i know she understood. And, you guessed it, she massaged. i gave her the evil eye. I've been going to nail salons since I was 16 and this was not a great experience from the beginning, the owner/manager is very condescending and grabbed my hands in such a way I almost thought it was my fault, not pleasant at all. And then to ask me if I was nervous, no um I'm in shock with how you grabbed someone's hands to wrap their nails, I was also sitting in the massage chair so not easy to move to your liking. I was also asked to pick out my color prior to wrapping and I had only had the samples for 2 minutes! I came here after a stressful week, hoping to have some relaxation, but I decided to leave even without getting color on my nails because this place has terrible vibes all around!
