Yeah that's me. Well, this is exactly what you're gonna get at this location. And I love it. i was recommended this place by a friend. there were some off putting reviews, but i gave it a try. the space reminds me of caesar's palace in las vegas, with the cloud ceiling and pillars. i was told to see tina, upon arrival- the owner tiffany, who was excepting walked me over to the pedicure area they had ready. to speed things up- tina did my pedi and tiffany did my mani. they were both really nice- the perfect amount of engagement and attentiveness, but still gave me time to myself. tiffany was so sweet- she custom made a color for me with bubbly bath mixed with funny bunny to give me exactly what i wanted- without me having to ask. tina would check in, to make sure the color was right, to go back for cuticles, asked to check for ingrowns, etc. i normally get russian mani/pedis, but this was a great substitute- i got gel mani/pedis- they paid a lot of attention to my cuticles, listened to what shape i wanted, took their time and was v neat. I highly recommend you give this a place to try . read more

I called at 10:45 am to book an appt at 6:15 when they hours state they close at 7. When I got there at 5:45 (30 min early) the doors were locked. I had to call and that should have been my first red flag. Ended up getting in. Longgggg story short they took my gel polish off thinking it was acrylic...hurting me. After me telling them it's gel (3) times. Proceeded to put acrylic on my nail. Telling them I just was gel. The same I came in with. Then half way through I noticed she was doing builder gel. I asked again and they kept saying yes it's gel .....I ended up with two pretty bad cuts, every time I look at my nails I get mad and on top I had to pay for builder gel even tho that's not what I asked for. I tipped in cash (even tho the service they gave me was terrible) then the lady told me that she stayed open just for me and now they have to drive back to Oakland. I have to say I used to go to La vie all the time growing up adore the owners such sweet people; however today I went to Avalon I left before I even got my nails finished bc the guy cut me multiple times and sliced my finger he was not gentle at all & i pulled away multiple times i was in pain w this deep cut i almost cried actually. Left before finishing my french tips & was charged $65 even though i couldn't even enjoy the experience & a basic gel full set is listed at $55 on the website. Service was horrible I wanted regular black coffin French tip!!! The lady who did my pedicure didn't even use q clean set of nail clippers just sprayed with alcohol and my nails were horrible shape wise and tips so I requested to get them fixed the lady went off talking to her other colleagues and refused to fix them! I requested a refund the following day because I was NOT going to have them mess with "fixing" my nails didn't have the time not energy to deal with them and they refused to refund me ! It's ridiculous !!!!! Will NEVER EVER go or recommend this place ever !!!!!! Now my bank is trying to despute the charge and they aren't allowing it. I rarely take time to write bad reviews, but the pain I'm in definitely warrants it. I am a LOYALIST to Lavender nail spa, hieu has done my nails for years... but I went one time to Avalon, and their massage chairs got me good! So I've gone a few times recently for my pedicures. The visit before last, I paid extra for a neck massage which I only remembered hours after I got home I hadn't received. Oh well, my bad. I went this last visit with my boyfriend for a pedicure, mentioned it hoping to have them give me the massage this time - NOPE. Then we decided to do various face waxing as well, we both wanted our nose waxed. The woman takes me in the back and proceeds to pull the wax with what seemed like a c-fold paper towel. Odd, didn't think anything of it though. Until I walk out and see my boyfriend with the swabs up his nose (what I expected) done by who I think is the owner. I immediately started feeling a throbbing burning in my nose, told the owner and she gave me a soothing salve, which did not help. She apologized for the other woman when I explained her method... fine. Came home and immediately shoved ice cubes in my nostrils. Cut to two days later, my nostrils are both scabbed over, super painful and draining puss. Moral of the story- the man that did my pedicure was awesome, the massage chairs are DIVINE but under no circumstances should you get any kind of waxing from anyone but the owner. read more

Should've listened to the bad reviews, but I still gave this place a chance. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The nail shape was uneven, and the polish had visible patches. At first, the tech insisted they didn't have milky white, even though it's a super common shade. But when I didn't like the color she used, she suddenly "found" it, claiming it had just been delivered. Felt more like she didn't want to grab it in the first place. She also kept making comments about how bad my previous nails looked, which was unnecessary and untrue, they actually looked better than what I left with. Definitely learned my lesson, next time I'll trust the reviews. read more

I have gone here a few times and only had one negative experience. Today David did my set and he did a wonderful job. I got a full set with French tips and I got exactly what I had asked for. I did wish to get a darker color but that is no sweat. I usually like to choose more than one color and this French looks great, I'm happy with what how they turned out! read more

I was a little hesitant about getting a mani/pedi from this place because of the reviews but I decided to get the experience anyway because a friend treated me and some friends to the mani/pedi. The salon is very inviting and clean. The service on the other hand was the worse I've had for a mani/pedi. The lady was nice and made sure I was comfortable but did not provide good service. My pedicure soak was longer than the time it took the lady to clean my cuticles, trim down toenails, clean away dead skin and calluses. I felt bad that my girlfriend spent so much on the services we got. I always get a mani/gel pedicure and told the lady to just put plain, clear polish. What was spent on a classic pedicure and Avalon manicure was not worth it. I would never recommend this place to first timers or anybody at the matter. The 1-star reviews are valid. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! I had one good experience here a long time ago with an older woman, so when my gel polish started lifting while I was home for thanksgiving, I went here to have it removed/get a manicure. First red flag was that a dremel was used to remove the gel polish completely. Not to remove the top layer. No acetone was used at all. I thought well, at least that is over. THEN, a dremel came out again with an even rougher bit to INTENTIONALLY ROUGH UP the surface of my nails. I assume this was to "make the gel stick". Horribly damaging to the nails and unpleasant feeling. My nails were also filed with a very gritty file in every direction, including up and down. I left with nails that had rough edges and caught on everything and today (the next day) some have even had bits of the actual nail break off. The nails did look fine when I first left, so if you are okay with damaging your natural nails, it might be fine for you. read more

Do NOT come here & waste your money! This is my 3rd bad experience coming to this nail salon out of 3 times. Every experience has been terrible. I decided to give this place one last shot yesterday for convenience as it was in the same parking lot I was shopping in & I really regret it. I'm in so much pain (as you can see from the photos & video- my toes are all red, inflamed, & have dried blood/ crusted pus). The lady was trimming my nails & taking out ingrown toe nails on my big toes. She was hurting me as she was doing it & even noticed my discomfort. I clenched a few times as I was gripping my chair & said ahhh owww! I feel like she was exceptionally rough even though she could clearly see she was hurting me. My nails kept bleeding even after she painted them & now they look like this now a little more than 24 hours later. I came in about a month & ago half ago with my 8 month old son at the time. He's a very easy going , happy baby, but anyway, I paid for a gel pedicure & they so rudely rushed me out of there. I'm a busy mom of 3 under 2 & look forward to getting a pedicure (mostly getting my feet rubbed) & I kid you not the lady did one stroke on each foot & that was it. Then I didn't even get a warm towel on my legs, instead I got a cold one. I was highly disappointed! Please do yourself a favor & go elsewhere! I will never be going back here again. read more

My skin is peeling ( sorry no extra pictures) I have used a coconut oil 4 times to add moister my hand. ) I kept letting her know it smelled bad and she said don't worry don't worry. She cut my pinky twice once with the drill. And another with acrylic that landed on the cut and she used sissies to yank it off. I just wanted to get done and out. I feel so bad and uncomfortable because I suggested it hurt. She said No. I suggested to be gentle she said Ok Honey. Got a mani and pedi here last Wednesday... today (Tuesday) my index fingernail chipped so I stopped by around 5:30pm and the place was dead so all the ladies were asking to help me.. but after that, it all goes down hill. COME HERE!! Definitely one of the best nail spots I've ever been to. Came up to Napa for my besties bday weekend and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. We walked in and were seen within 5 mins. I got a dip mani and my friend got a deal mani/pedi. My experience with Vi was AMAZING. When she found out we were there for my besties bday, she gave us both glasses of champagne which was soooo sweet. I originally was going to get gel, but she convinced me to get dip to help the health of my nails (which I'm happy I got!!). We had great conversation, and she would include me into the conversation with the other nail techs. She made me feel extremely pampered and it was overall a great experience. What I love most is that she took her time with my nails and made sure I really liked what was happening at every step. Will definitely come back anytime I'm in Napa! (: So here's an update! It's been 9 days since and my nails or my friends nails are not holding up. I'm all about being honest, so people who come across my review know. The customer service was amazing, but her gel and my dip did not last. Her gel was cracked and chipping within a few days. The salon is beautiful, everyone is super sweet, and they took us as walk-ins. They also don't do the hard upsell which is great; last thing you want is pressure to buy when you're already spending $100+ trying to have a relaxing experience. My daughter's mani-pedi turned out great. Mine? Not so much...well, the pedi was ok, but the mani is a hot mess. Yes, my hands were a mess when I arrived, but I was there to make them look nice. They do not appear to be a fresh manicure. Pic is of that mani less than 25 hours later. Totally unacceptable and disappointing considering I am in a wedding this weekend and now I just have to go with it. I'm not saying the entire place is a waste of money. Just saying that you gotta watch what the nail tech is doing so that they don't eff up the job. The girl who started my pedicure has covid n was coughing n sneezing and no mask on. When I finally said something she got pissed n her manager FINALLY made her wear a mask. This has been my go-to spot for years, basically since they opened! Everyone is very friendly, I absolutely love the bomb.com pedicures, and they do great dip powder. Sometimes I bring in my own dips, sometimes I use theirs, but I never have any lifting and a set will easily last me 3 to 4 weeks with no chips. Really the only reason to go back and get a new set is for the change of color and because my nails have grown out! While lots of places offer dip, they're not necessarily good at it...V and David at Avalon are the best I have found in town and I'll never go anywhere else. For an amazing pedicure, Tina and Maya are incredible. Bonus: during the summer and on some weekends and busier days they may even have the margarita machine on! read more

My first mani pedi in over a year and a half (thank you Covid) and boy did I need it! I was able to get into Avalon in minutes and was greeted as soon as I entered the salon. It was brightly lit, clean and roomy with those nice massage chairs for your pedicure. Both the mani and pedi were fabulous, the ladies did a terrific job - especially the massage!
