She selected this place for our lunch. What a great choice! The inside is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The service was exceptional. But the food was the star of the show. We were seated in a corner of the main dining room. We had a view of the ruins and the garden. The server brought us complimentary bread topped with fresh tomatoes and olive oil. Super fresh tomatoes. We shared two hearty appetizers: a lightly fried buratta and a plate of prosciutto. The coating on the fried buratta was so light and crispy. The cheese was mild and a nice contrast to the fresh tomato sauce it rested on. We loved the prosciutto. It was both slightly sweet and salty. The two appetizers were more than enough for the four of us. My sister and I each ordered the ravioli. It was stuffed with cheese and served with a light tomato sauce. The pasta was obviously made in house. It was cooked al dente...perfectly! Our friends each had a pasta dish. I can't remember which they ordered but I do remember that they tasted really good. We all shared and everything was great. We also shared a bottle of white wine from that region of Italy. I think it's the Lazio region. The wine was light and crisp. We had a lemon gelato sorbet for dessert. It was tart and tangy, just like it was supposed to be. They also brought complimentary biscotti...it was made in-house and I wish I could have stuffed some in my purse for the ride back to Rome. The owner, tall, good looking guy, was low key but still friendly. I doubt that I will ever return to Tivoli. If I did this place would be the only reason to return!

It had a dungeon feel to it, but a pretty cool one though. The service was great! Very attentive and very easy to communicate with. I thought the cut of meat with Parmesan cheese was excellent, but the steak was a tad chewy. The ravioli with ricotta with basil best I have ever tasted. The flavors are hard to describe, but an orgasmic experience comes to mind.

We had a group of 12, so the owner put us in the wine cellar, and what an experience! They also have seating upstairs and several tables outside when the weather is nice. Getting down to the cellar is an adventure in itself. You walk down several steep sets of stairs that turn at the bottom. At 6'1", I was definitely ducking my head to make it all the way down! Once you reach the bottom, you walk through a maze of literally thousands of wine bottles before arriving at the private dining room. If you get the chance to sneak down and take a look, it is absolutely worth it! Once we were seated, the wine and bread started flowing, and the service was amazing from beginning to end. Since we were a large party, we had a set menu. First came fried artichoke and fried zucchini flower with cheese. Then came the pasta course, including Cacio e Pepe and Rigatoni. After that, we had veal and potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, with incredible flavor. And then came dessert! Great food, amazing service, a unique atmosphere, and a wine cellar you won't forget. This is definitely a place to put on your list when visiting Rome! Ciao!

The wine list is to die for, and the waiter recommended a wonderful Wine, a nebbiolo that is not so known. I deducted two stars, however, for what I can only describe as racism by the management. They turned away a Chinese family when they were clearly multiple tables available outside. And then immediately afterwards, give them to White families who had no reservations. It was really unbelievable. And reading other reviews, I can see that this is a pattern. They need to fix this.

At the end of the tour, our guide dropped us off for lunch and provided this spot as a suggestion. (The one tip we heard repeatedly from locals while in Italy - avoid any restaurant that had pictures outside of their food or had alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs or chicken parmigiana on the menu.) So, she kindly dropped us off here - at this little spot just off the beaten path. We arrived at lunch time, but were lucky to secure a table outside (dining al fresco in Italy is just a must whenever possible). That said - we just had a light lunch as we had big dinner plans that evening. So, I had only a glass of rose wine and one dish - cacio e pepe. But, here's the thing - I am still thinking about that one bowl of pasta now - more than a month later. It was that good. It's such a simple dish - pasta, cheese, pepper. And yet - so much deliciousness. I've tried to recreate at home, but to no success. I will keep trying. But, the long story short, if you are in Rome, stray off the beaten path - go here and have the cacio e pepe. Honestly - I bet all their dishes are amazing. If I get back to Rome - I will seek this place out to test my theory!
