FILL YOUR TANK OF GAS! La Tormenta is one of the more authentic restaurants I've been to in Utah so far. We every much enjoyed the experience as well as the food. The biggest things I look for in an authentic restaurant is how they prepare their beans as Mexican/American restaurants have tampered with the authenticity of the food. La Tormenta passed the bean test as well as the rest of their food.

The birria was delicious and full of flavor! Great atmosphere too. Very homey type of vibe. Easy parking too.

Oil from burrito. This is after I blotted the tray with napkins too!

I came here a few times. First to get some tacos. The tacos were ok. Next time I came here I got a steak burrito and it was the most oiliest burrito I ever seen in my life. It was disgusting. I won't be back.

3 Combo but with grilled onions, radishes, and salsa on top. Sorry you can't see the Tamale, Enchilada, or Tostada underneath!!

MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! I had the 3 combo plate of: Tamale, Enchilada, and Tostada!!! I think is my favorite so far!!! The tamale had great seasoning in the masa, and the filling was delicious!! I ordered all items to be chicken. The Enchilada was slightly crispy on the bottom(which I love!), just the right amount of chicken. I liked their enchilada sauce!! And the chicken tostada was mmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Delicious!!! The quality of taste of these items was wonderful in my mouth!! It made my tummy so happy!!! The price was $5.99 for all of that!!! You can't beat this price!!! I wonder what I will try next time? Can't wait to return to try more of their delicious menu items!!!

Nachos The tomatoes are missing. Mediocre at best. Won't be back.

The tomatoes were missing. They don't offer guac, and when I asked she looked at me like I was crazy, so not great customer service. These are mediocre at best, I won't be back.

Good classic Mexican food. Can't go wrong with enchiladas. Chips and salsa were not my fav, but it was still decent overall.

La Tormenta is one of my favorite places in town, and I return to it again and again. A full review and the complete menu are available on my blog... Authentic tacos are $1 each and are available with many choices of filling, all topped with a pile of cilantro and onions. My favorite are the carnitas (sweet shredded pork) and the chorizo (spicy pork sausage), while my husband goes for the asada (steak) and the lengua (beef tongue). Tortas, the carne asada plate, smothered burritos, and tamales are other good choices. A paleta (ice cream bar) from the freezer case - coconut and creamy strawberry are my favorites - completes the meal. Our most recent, filling meal was $18 for three adults and two children. The menu is not available online, so I photographed it and put it on my blog. Follow the link from my Yelp profile.

Super cheap Mexican food, and it tastes like it to. Probably won't come here again. The staff kind of seemed annoyed that we were there.

I didn't think I would like the green one but it was my favorite. Chips were warm and just the right amount of salt. I always over order so I can have leftovers for lunch. I had a 3 item combo with a cheese enchilada no onion, ground beef taco, and a relleno. I always have to try a chile relleno when I go to a new state. I had to ask how they made it cause some places make it different than what I am used to. There was an option in the menu that read $2.99 for an authentic relleno. I had to ask. The server explained that what comes with the plate is like an omelette style with the chile cut up (that's what I understood). I was thinking, "Really! I have to pay $3 extra to get a traditional style item. That should be offered automatically if you are serving traditional food." I paid the extra cause I wasn't going to have the 'omelette' style. The taco was ok. The ground beef wasn't hitting me right but I ate it. The rice was good. The beans started out ok but then started to taste funny. I stopped eating them. The relleno started out really good. Nice flavor, easy to cut, lots of cheese. About a 1/3 way through I couldn't cut the chile with my fork and the flavor started to change. I couldn't eat anymore. I took the enchilada and rice with me and left the rest.
