RUN:RUN FROM THIS RESTAURANT! After a recommendation to eat here, we tried it. Not fancy, that is not that point: Service was 2 out of five stars, but the food is what I am writing about. I had the cheese enchiladas, and they were the most pitiful thing. What happened to a sauce on top of it? The salsa bar was not supplied, and we asked twice to have them do so. A bottle was brought to our table, and it was way too hot. My husband had a Chile relleno, and I believe the cook forgot to rinse out the chile. There were so many seeds, and it was so spicy! The green salad was good, however, I can make a nice chopped green salad at home. We will not return. read more

First visit was Saturday, 26Feb2017, around 2 p.m.. I will be heading back. Place was full. Families taking several tables. Couples. Mexicans. People buying and taking food ToGo. Quite a diverse mix of clientele. I was encouraged with the amount of foot traffic - always a good sign. I couldn't quite figure out the menu on the wall. Luckily there were photos near the cash register. I pointed at the Chile Rojo plate and asked for flour tortillas instead of corn. What showed up was fantastic. I was expecting the beef to be pretty low quality - but it was great! Normally beef chunks at these sorts of taquerias sometimes bite back and you have to spit it out. I was very pleasantly surprised with each and every chunk being tender and tasty with no gristle or stringy stuff. It was really good. The rojo sauce was flavorful but not over spicy nor over powerful. The beans and rice were above average. The flour tortillas were homemade and even a little flaky. I just ripped off pieces and used it as a sort of side scooper. I will be ordering this same plate next time in. Why not just stay with a sure thing? Wife ordered a bowl of shrimp soup. It was very hot upon arrival - she had to wait a little bit to begin eating it - always a good sign. The shrimp were still in the shell, so she peeled each one before eating. The broth was a vibrant red color. She ate nearly the whole thing. We were enticed to try La Tormenta due to a deal found on the Hooked app. It got us in the door with an offer of free chips and a drink. This was my favorite Mexican food at one point. Lately, it seems to miss the mark every time I visit. Most recently, I went in and placed and order for my family to go, while they waited in the car. After placing my order I stood next to the counter waiting for my food. Others came in and placed their orders, and got their orders and left. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and waited. After twenty, yes, 20 minutes, I finally made my way to ask where my food was when I heard someone come out from the back with a bag in hand asking who's that was. Someone else looked at me and said, "it's his." I was so upset I took it and left. The salsa isn't as great as it was a few years back, and the asada is great when you don't come across a bite of fat. My wife ordered something that was completely indedible, I would not recommend this restaurant, when they say authentic in other posts they aren't kidding, and that isn't really a good thing. There's no way this many people feel this way about this place. The people that review this place must eat cup'o noodles every night because it doesn't have much flavor it it all! It's tortillas rice beans meet salad etc with no seasoning. You if you think that's what authentic Mexican food taste like I feel bad for you. Maybe I've been too spoiled by California Mexican food. This place wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't my favorite either. Their salsa is ok, just not what I was expecting after all the good reviews and one of my professors saying this was the best Mexican in town. The cheese in the enchilada I had had a weird rubbery texture, and my boyfriend wasn't impressed with his burrito either. So lets start with this is an authentic Mexican Taqueria. Its not an Americanized, that alone in Logan is an accomplishment, which got them a 4th star. Its not fast food, you order and you sit and talk to your party/friends. The atmosphere is that of a hole in the wall with standard vivid Mexican colors; this is intentional. Those complaining about service, wait time and decor do not understand what the place is and are better off at Taco Bell. The food and the prices are quite reasonable. We placed a to go order on May 5 for 25 St. tacos rice and beans. We were told it was a 15 minute wait time two hours later we finally got our food. It was cold and the beans were slopped inside of a bag and a mess everywhere! I immediately called the restaurant and spoke to Adriana and was assured that everything would be made right. When I called two days later to place my order to replace everything that had been wrong to begin with I was told that I could have 10 tacos and nothing else. I asked to speak to the owner they refused to get on the phone this went back-and-forth for 15 minutes! I was finally told I could have 12 tacos and that was it... Extremely poor customer service, and shame on the owner for not getting on the phone to make things right! We will never eat at this restaurant again and I will make sure my friends and family do not eat there as well. I'm sorry but customers are always right and when you were in the food industry you do everything you can to make sure your customers are happy... This owner does not care! read more

We walked on thinking that we were at super burrito, finding out that they went out of business and la tormenta rook it over. First off. Food was cold and taste horrible, and we has to sit there and watch spanish tv, and my blood sugar was low so i was going to make a purchase from the rack of snacks they sell while i waited for my food. This is a welcome addition to the Logan foodie scene. The Mexican food is terrific, fresh, and very cheap. This place isn't long on atmosphere, but can easily be your favorite taqueria.
