Service was as bad as it could have been tonight. As I checked out w my to go order I told the worker I brought two small containers from home to get salsa from the salsa bar to make sure it was ok. She said nothing. The salsa bar has no containers w lids only small open paper cups. A different worker who refused to give me her name told my husband in front of a large crowd if you ever bring your own containers in future you will be charged! My husband says he will never ever return he was so embarrassed. If the salsa bar is for in-house dining only then put up a sign that says that! I ordered all items to be chicken. The Enchilada was slightly crispy on the bottom(which I love!), just the right amount of chicken. I liked their enchilada sauce!! What can't I say about La Tormenta? It was the perfect spot for me and my husband to try new Mexican food as college kids and an amazing date spot for us. This is the first place I had tried a chimichanga and I am forever hooked and convinced nowhere else can compare. The front staff/cooks are friendly and get your order right. The mural on the wall and smell of fresh food is very comforting and makes you feel at home. I miss it so much now that we're not in Logan anymore. Thank you for all the memories! read more

Authentic tacos are $1 each and are available with many choices of filling, all topped with a pile of cilantro and onions. My favorite are the carnitas (sweet shredded pork) and the chorizo (spicy pork sausage), while my husband goes for the asada (steak) and the lengua (beef tongue). Tortas, the carne asada plate, smothered burritos, and tamales are other good choices. A paleta (ice cream bar) from the freezer case - coconut and creamy strawberry are my favorites - completes the meal. Our most recent, filling meal was $18 for three adults and two children. Totally decent Mexican for Cache Valley (still nothing compared to Red Iguana, but what is?).. They are CHEAP! Lots to choose from! OPEN ON SUNDAYS! The lady at the counter assured me that the beans and rice were vegetarian. I got an enchiladas plate with white cheese and corn tortillas, and it was pretty good. Hubby got a vegetarian burrito and it was HUGE! I like the condiment tray they bring out, especially the pico de gallo, and the caramelized onions! I will return again for sure.. I wasn't the biggest fan of the tortilla, and the asada wasn't very flavorful. However, when you put that much cheese on something, it's hard to go wrong. I was quoted 15 min for takeout, but it was closer to half an hour--so that wasn't desirable. if I need some cheap food and a lot of it, I know where to go. Chicken had absolutely no flavor, tastes more like oil than anything. Beef was a solid 2. Ordered chips and salsa the chips were okay but the salsa was just plain gross. The girl who took our order was rude and seemed very annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted upon walking in. We then proceeded to wait for thirty minutes thinking it was getting ridiculous how long it was taking for a burrito and nachos to come out. Finally the girl at the counter noticed us and asked if we had been waiting a long time. Turns out they lost our order as we were informed when she finally brought us our waters. Then she comes right out with a burrito and just as I'm about to start cutting it she comes back and says she gave me the wrong thing and asked me if I'd touched it. She took it back to the kitchen and then walked out and gave it to a guy who had just come in and ordered. When the food finally came out we were less than impressed. The refried beans had good flavor but the carne asada was chopped so small it was practically the same texture as ground beef. Also, the rice is flavorless. This was the first time here . The people working here are super nice ! And the food OMG sooooo good . They did take a bit to give us our food but so worth it . My husband wanted something they didn't have on the menu and the girl was nice enough to go ask the chef if he can make it for us and he said yes . Three stars may be generous for this place. We went to La Tormenta in search of a good street taco. When we walked in, we thought it seemed authentic and like a good place to start. We started off with chips and salsa which is honestly the reason I gave three starts over two. The chips were delicious and the salsa was the perfect amount of spice. The food is just not very good here. Everything tastes old and reheated, nothing is fresh. Their al pastor is a mystery meat..ground into tiny unrecognizable pieces, with an ambiguous taste, fatty, with no sweetness..it made for a barely edible burrito. Tamale was soggy, pork wet and bland. Crispy taco, not much in it, meat underseasoned. Cheese enchiladas, surprisingly bland and bo-ring. Flautas were undercooked and unrolled on me, and hardly had any chicken inside. They even once served me avocado spotting black, ugh. Their salsa verde is tasty with a nice punch of heat, but that alone isn't enough to salvage cooking this poor. Service is interesting here..it can get a bit clueless and discombobulated at times. Check your takeout orders, do the math in your head at the register, and speak up if something is wrong because they're known to mess up orders. The lady managing the front can come off rude, but if you get her sarcastic nature, she really is a sweetheart. Honestly I'm surprised La Tormenta has survived so long. Lack of immediate competition has helped. I remember ordering chicken tacos here as a kid and being disappointed that their shredded, stewed chicken at the time was dry and flavorless. Overall good food for the price. This is a taqueria with ample seating and they sell a wide array of Mexican candies as well. I ordered a carne asada burrito grande. It comes with all the good items inside like cheese and avocado, rice and beans. The cheese is not your typical melty cheese but the crumbly kind. My favorite part about the burrito was the spice! There was definitely some good heat in the pico they put in. The salsa they give you on the side also was nice and spicy. Every once in a while there was a piece of gristley meat but I think that's to be expected for a burrito under $5. In general the meat was not overly fatty. Oh and it was HUGE.
