The staff at LA Tan is always very friendly and helpful. What I think is disappointing is that about a month ago I bought a package for 5 level 3 tans and it was around $60. The other day I bought the exact same thing and it was now $80. The worker said that sometimes the prices just "change." Wouldn't you honor the price previously? I really like this LA Tan location! I've been to a couple others in the city and this is my favorite thus far. Friendly front desk staff, big parking lot, huge location with tons of machines, really clean facility. What more could you ask for?! I only do the spray tanning and am happy with their VersaSpa. The room is well stocked with everything you'd need....even a robe which is a funny little touch I haven't seen at other facilities. I'll definitely be back to this LA Tan! read more

I think this salon is great in terms of the gals working there- they are always super friendly! I have never had to wait to get in and out; I feel like all the beds are constantly cleaned and have not ever worried they weren't being cleaned. Overall an excellent experience and would recommend and would come back if needed! The loss of a star is due to the lack of information available on what the different beds (levels 1-6) and what they achieve. I am new to tanning and did not realize that the higher levels aren't just a scale of intensity, but different types of bulbs (uv-a versus uv-b) that achieve different results (tanning versus bronzing). This information would've been super helpful and I'd highly recommend some kind of chart in the lobby explaining the different levels. I did ask the ladies working when I started but never really for a satisfactory answer on what the different levels meant and had to do some googling to find out. read more

Great experience here. I stopped in an hour before closing and Becky was at the front desk. She was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and got me set up with the perfect bed for my skin type. I got a great tan at a great price and I couldn't be happier! Facility was incredibly clean and Covid-19 precautions were taken seriously. I felt at ease coming to this location and can't wait to return. Monthly package prices are insanely low compared to other competing salons in the area. I went with a Level 2 lay-down bed and it was a great experience - lightbulbs were nice and strong but I didn't burn. Fan/music worked well and the room was very, very clean. This is a very clean, well kept spot. There's parking and I don't usually have to wait for a bed. I used to really love this location- the girls were all so nice, Avalon especially- she always remembered my name (mask or no mask) and knew what I was going to do without question. Seems like they've had some turnover recently. She's gone now and the vibe just isn't the same. The girls are not really friendly or attentive - you can tell it's just a job to them. I chose this location over the one down the street from me because of the level of quality service- it's a bummer that its now just like any of the other locations. read more

Came here to tan for an event that I was flying out for. Not only were the employees kind and attentive, but they seemed to really care. They took the time to explain multiple aspects of the tanning beds to me and took care to help me exercise proper tanning precautions (not tanning again until after the 24 hour mark had passed, recommending lotions suited to my needs, explaining the science behind the beds). I have really enjoyed my package there at the Fullerton location and have been able to maximize my tan and minimize my burn susceptibility with their help. Still coming to this location and I don't see what the complaint is about! I think it must be a hit or miss when it comes to who is working and when people go there. I've Been a LA Tan customer for several years and usually go to the one on Damen because it's 20 minutes from my house and the hours used to be great until 9pm before COVID now the new hours are not long enough! Some days they're open until eight but the last appointment is 745 unfortunately I work until seven in Oak Park and can make it by eight. A few times in the past I wasn't able to make it to this location and went to the next closest which is on Fullerton and Sheffield and have always had convenient hours Even now with the Covid Hours I can make it there at 7:55 and they will let me tan I think that shows that they care for their customers and actually the machines are way better! The place is always clean and the staff are great especially Emily she was genuinely happy that I was happy. I don't mind driving the extra 10 minutes any longer and I don't have to feel so rushed! read more

Staff is immature and has an attitude that is uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Rooms are filthy. Not to mention weird spaces in ceiling tiles that are "questionable". Gaps in walls give zero privacy.dust and dirt all over. I definitely will not return and will stick to tanning at my gym. read more

DO NOT TAN HERE, and if you do, DO NOT give them your card info. Cancelled my membership a YEAR ago and found out they have continued charging me every month. I don't even live in the state anymore. Called last week and was promised a prompt phone call from the manager. Nothing. Have since called four more times and they have not answered. The phone rings for a minute and the call lasts for three seconds before the call automatically drops--and their voicemail message + option to leave a voicemail has suspiciously disappeared since the first time I called last week. I need to note that the employee who DID answer last week seemed genuinely concerned considering she does not have the authority to resolve the issue + this issue is not her fault. She answered right away and agreed that this isn't okay but that her manager wasn't in the store and that they would call me the next day. read more

Yesterday night I purchased the for spray tans for $59 at the 1335 W Fullerton Ave location. My first experience at LA Tan in the loop late December was wonderful. This location was bad. Here's why: -Two girls working were unhelpful to say the least. -When the one "showed" me the mystic booth, she essentially said "push the button when you get in." -I was given no instruction to use the barrier cream at all, or turn around after the first spray. -Once I was in the booth, only the middle and far left of the 3 nozzles sprayed the tanning solution. -The room had no shower cap and no towel. Today my hands dark orange and this tan turned out the opposite of how it was after my first visit to the other location (which was lovely and natural looking). This is my first time writing a poor review to a business...but I spent my money and committed to re-visit LA Tan 3 more times which is the worst part. read more

I have always chosen LA Tan for tanning since their beds are strong and I have been to several locations over the years and they all been clean and consistent. I've been going to the Fullerton location for about two years and overall it's been a great experience especially since they have good deals. I knocked off a couple stars due to the customer service because it is inconsistent at this location. Most of the employees are excellent and always friendly and attentive. However, a few act as if you are interrupting them and are too busy eating, joking with friends, etc to process the transaction quickly or help you. Today one of the employees forgot to even turn on the time on my bed and had an attitude the entire time. It's not enough to switch to a different company, but if the inconsistently in service continues it might be down the line. read more

I tanned for the first time EVER yesterday and I feel so bad I don't know her name but she is blond and works nights but she is so helpful. She was there again tonight and is just so sweet! I'm a pale light eyed girl and she gave me good advice to make sure I don't burn. They also aren't super pushy about selling lotions. Tuesdays tend to get pretty busy and they had maybe 2 or 3 hallways of beds here, needless to say there was no wait! I read many yelp reviews on LA tan because I wanted a clean place with good bulbs. I'm happy I did my research because this place is amazing! I went in and registered and had a very friendly girl take care of me early in the morning. The next day I went back, a rather snotty girl who looked like she had her boyfriend sitting there wth her waited on me. She knew it was my second time in and told me to go to room 24, when I asked where that was she was extremely rude and acting like I bothered her to show me where. I would have given this place 5 stars if the customer service would have been better. But the cleanliness and the beds were very impressive. *GREAT DEAL ALERT* If you go to the LA Tan web site, they are offering $50 of free tanning with no strings attached. IF you buy a bottle of lotion (they are all roughly $40) they will give you 30% off the lotion AND double your tanning dollars to $100. So I basically walked in there today and got a bottle of lotion and $100 tanning dollars for $40. Pretty darn good deal. The girl who worked there was really young but friendly. This place isn't nearly as nice as Ultimate Exposure down the street. I am surprised at how high off the ground the tanning bed was, and I'm 5'8". Not a graceful entry and exit (I hope there aren't hidden cameras...) Tuesdays are $5 tan days. Love that. Regarding the previous post on not getting any color from these tanning beds...these beds aren't as strong as the beds at Ultimate Exposure. I can go 15 minutes in a Level 3 bed (room 2) and not burn. At UE, I go 9 minutes in one of their beds and I burn. At first I was bothered that I didn't seem to get any color at LA Tan, but I am getting color just more gradually and without burning. That's cool by me. read more
