I went to the West Loop location and had such a great experience! My tan technician Kylie was lovely, discussed what type of tan I was looking for and completed the spray super efficiently (probably the quickest tan experience I have had!). The tan itself looks GREAT -- so natural, not orange at all and is holding up really well (I am about 6 days post tan and it isn't patchy or coming off anywhere!). The rapid tan was quick and easy to remove and the smell was super minimal (we all know the fake tan smell lol). I will definitely be back for another one once this one finally fades. Finally, I felt like the pricing was super fair for the quality of work that was done/tan that was given and how easy the whole process was. I've been getting airbrush tans for years and this is hands down my favorite place. Jenn, the owner, is so fantastic. During my first appt, I realized I really f*cked up and used a body wash beforehand that messed with the tan as she was applying it. When I say she went above and beyond to make it work - wow. She somehow made it work and it turned out perfectly - zero streaks. The color was so natural and beautiful, and the exact shade I'd hoped for. Well.... I have two problems with this salon. I had to reschedule my appointment day of (yes I know about the cancelation policy - but I figured since I had to reschedule say day & they had the time, it wouldn't be an issue) and I got charged for both appointments. The bigger issue is the quality of the spray tan. 1. I asked for my face to be tanned and she barely touched my face. The color difference between my face and neck is crazy. 2. I didn't wear my watch for 4 days after the tan and after an hour of wear, I have a circle mark on my skin. I followed all instructions given. I did not even rinse off my body for 24 hours and then showered and washed off after about 48 hours. Horrible service and policy. Will not go back. read more

I hadn't had an airbursh tan in probably 7-8 years, so when I was trying to make an appointment to get one done for my wedding, I was a little nervous! I did a ton of research on the best spray tan salons in the city and came across Glowout. They were close to home, had pretty good reviews and prices were decent, so I went for it. So happy I did! My spray tan turned out perfect for my big day :) the color was exactly what I wanted.. dark but not too dark or orange. No blotches or unevenness. Samantha did my airbrush tan and she was super sweet and made me feel very comfortable and understood exactly what I wanted. The ONLY critique I have for this salon is that the rooms are very very small, making it easy to bump into the walls and potentially smudge your tan. Overall though, wonderful experience! I went here because my usual place was booked. The actual salon was super cute. But this is the WORST airbrush tan I've ever had. The salon is huge yet they have a spray booth so small that you're constantly rubbing up against the wall and getting dark brown spray from pervious appointments all over you. I asked for a natural color and they made me look like a Texas pageant girl. On top of it, they missed so many spots on me (I attached a photo) Worst 50 dollars spent and worst airbrush spray tan. I did a lot of research ahead of time and recommend you follow the instructions. I got an express spray tan yesterday and so far I'm very pleased. After exfoliation the night before, not wearing deodorant and perfume I was ready to go. I'd recommend bringing your own thong since I wore full coverage underwear and my butt is quite white haha. The staff is super friendly and this was my first spray tan experience. I got it done prior to my bridal make-up and hair trial so I could make sure it was the right fit. Brittany was my stylist and she was very funny and meticulous. I'm excited to see how it looks on Saturday but I'm very pleased so far. I got my spray tan at Glowout a handful of times. Let me tell you that I usually don't tan and almost never spray tan because of the fear of looking like Oompa Loompa. But sometimes I require to look tan so I don't scare people away with my Dracula like pale skin. The tan comes out very natural looking, never streaky, I am usually completely satisfied with my experience. The tan lasts at least 10 days on my skin, long enough to last through a whole vacation or until you can tan a bit in the sun. The girls are always nice, friendly and make me feel welcomed. Best spray tan I've ever had! It was super even (not blotchy at all), looked natural, and lasted a full week+ even after a weekend of swimming in the lake. I wanted to like this place. I had a decent experience going in, and the tan turned out pretty even the next day when fully developed. I was excited to have a head start on my summer tan...but it did not stay. It became patchy starting on the second day on my abdomen, knees and a few other places. This is what my knees and a spot on my chest looked like on Tuesday. I moisturized a ton and hadn't even exfoliated. I took short showers, not super hot - pretty precautionary in general. Mind you, I got the tan mid day on Saturday so it was developed fully by Sunday. Don't waste your money here. read more

What a fun little place! Came here with a group of girls to get our hair done before adult prom. The place is a bit hard to find, it's behind Au Cheval in a tiny little hole-in-the-wall entry, then you buzz in, then go up some stairs, behind a door, etc. Not too bad, but a little hard to find. Once I found it, it was great. The decor inside is great, they greeted me right away and asked if I needed anything while I waited for the rest of the group. We brought stuff to make mimosas, and they took everything into the kitchen to keep it chilled, etc. There's also a cute little chihuahua that belongs to one of the owners (I think?) that just kind of roams around. My stylist did awesome too, although I don't remember her name. I had some basic guidelines of what I wanted but told her to just play around, and she did great. All of us in the group ended up with great styles! It was $40 for the updo, which I thought was pretty reasonable. The ambiance overall was fun, too, and they were super nice. They even made up the mimosas for us (I was expecting that we'd do that, which was fine by me), and they made sure to keep the glasses full. I come up the stairs to this magical land called Glowout. The women at the desk couldn't be any nicer. They tell me not to worry, they will just throw my clothes in the dryer. I think I might move in here. So decor wise...this place is basically my dream. Crazy, sexy, cool. I can't even deal with its fabulousness. So as I wait, I sit on the most romantic plush couch while sipping spa water....can this get any better? Well the answer is YES. I got my spray tan done by Becky who was so sweet and personable. Seeing as this was my first time getting a custom tan, I did not know how I'd feel about standing stark nekked in front of a stranger. Well, turns out Becky made that process as smooth and comfortable as ever. We chatted, we laughed, we cried...not really but you get it. It was seriously the most pleasant experience. Becky did a great job of informing me about spray tan care and also let me know there is this amazing gift from God called an express tan. What is that you ask? Well, you can get a spray tan and shower 3 hours later and you're out the door! No more dreaded 6-8 hour wait. 100% I would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone. I just found my happy place!!! As a new resident to Chicago, I am so stoked to find this fun space. So far, every time I've been in, I've left in a better mood. Can't hate that. My first visit was for eyelash extensions with Steph- which, ladies ( and a handful of fabulous gentlemen out there), if you haven't tried eyelash extensions yet, DO IT!!! Steph was fairly quick, super gentle and my lashes have stayed put for weeks. I had some friends coming in for a visit about a week later, so Steph suggested I bring them in for blowouts and makeup at Glowout. We had such a FUN girl's day!! Everyone's hair and makeup looked great and we were all laughing and giggling like old friends. The girls who work at this salon are all so damn sweet and you really feel cared for. ( I can't remember the sweet babe who did my makeup's name- It was something kinda unique like Yvonne or Yalani ) Last, but certainly not least I treated myself to a spray tan. ( I know I sound super bougee right now with all these treats to myself, but I swear- I'm not!! ... Just a gal trying to survive winter! ) My spray tan was booked with Katie and it turned out amazing. In all the years I lived in California, I've never had a tan this seamless. It's pretty nuts how much a little spray tan can put some pep in a gal's step. Katie even emailed me the following day to check up. Katie's my girl for tans, but after reading some of the reviews, it's looking like I'm gunna have to book myself something with Brittany as well... I noticed another reviewer on here remarked "Brittany for President" and I'm going to have to agree as she did both my tans and she's fantastic. Great personality and just does a really really great job. Both of my tans came out amazingly well; the perfect glow. The first time, I was super nervous because she didn't even ask how dark I wanted to go. When I asked about that she said "We just base it on what your shade is now and go from there", so I trusted her--which was the right decision. She did an incredible job, and I also just enjoy talking to her (totally forget I'm standing there naked). The owner is wonderful too as I spoke to her on the phone about their newly added services for eyelash extensions. I found Jenn 2 years ago when I first moved to Chicago and was looking for someone to do airbrush tanning on me. Finding a new spray tan girl was harder for me than finding a new hair stylist. But after reading all of her fabulous reviews AND finding out she would come to me, in my home, to spray me.....it was a no brainer! She has been flawlessly tanning me regularly for 2 years, sometimes at home and sometimes in the salon (which is so chic). She recently tanned me before my wedding and it came out perfect (no surprise to me though). Even wearing my heavy dress on a hot June Chicago summer day, the tan did not fade or wear off on my dress. The photos came out perfect too, which is a true test! After much deliberation, I made a last-minute decision to get a spray tan before my wedding. I had never had a spray tan before, and with it being only one week out, I did not have time for a trial. (Oops!) Based on all of the five star reviews, I felt confident making an appointment here. When I called, they were extremely helpful. They were able to answer all of my questions and sent me an informational video prior to arriving. When I came in for my spray tan, I couldn't believe the beautiful space and welcoming staff. (No wonder people love it here!) For my spray tan, I worked with Missy. She made me feel incredibly comfortable, and that's not an easy task when you are standing there mostly naked and (very) pale. I told her I was nervous about being too dark and she reassured me that the tan would be exactly how I imagined it. She was very thorough during the application, and after it was complete, gave me all of the information as far as when I could shower, what lotion to use, etc. A couple of days later, let me tell you...the tan was absolutely spot on. Absolutely the greatest tan I have ever had. I've gone twice and the tan I got both times was just FLAWLESS. I have recommended this place to so many of my coworkers, who also love it. I am planning on taking my sister here when she visits Chicago at the end of the month. That's how much I love it! Both times my tan has looked amazing and lasted a long time. It doesn't smell! I've gotten both the regular and the express. I prefer express, but mostly because I am impatient.The ladies who work there are so friendly and personable and VERY good at what they do. My hair held its curl and style for so long - usually my hair goes limp after a few hours!! I'm a huge fan of Amika products - I use them at home, so it was nice to see that they also use the brand. Plus its always a fun time when you're there. They make you feel very comfortable, like you're just hanging out with your friends. I've also had a spray tan by Jen -- wow!!! I went in 2 days before I left my sister's wedding in Lake Geneva and was worried that the tan wouldn't last. Having been a tanaholic for the last 15 years (only sprays as of the last 5 years), I would say that she gave me the best color to date! It was natural all the same while giving me that perfect bronzed look. On top of that, our dresses for the wedding were a really pale mint color, (which would contrast an orange tan horribly -- and the color turned out perfect, not orange at all) and I was so impressed that the tan did not come off onto the dress, despite sweating for 12 hours that day! lol.
