Very inconsistent. Sometimes it's good but very variable. Used to better but definitely declined.

I went to the Rotary meeting one time and La Strada served the food because the meeting was held at their restaurant, downstairs, in a dark dining room. The Rotarians normally don't know quality and they have settled for this place where the food tastes really bad and very unhealthy. If you mention anything, they seem to get very defensive. I decided not to return. I prefer if Rotarians met in a church hall and had a potluck instead. read more

Me and my girlfriends came here after a lovely day of wine tasting and I must say, they exceeded my expectations. We found them on Yelp as a restaurant option not too far away and decided to give them a try. Well, I'm glad we did because the food here was absolutely delicious!!! The drinks were just as good, we originally didn't plan on drinking anything alcoholic after the wine tasting BUT their drink options were so Fire we HAD to! We opted for the Moscato Sangria and boy was that drink gooooooooood!! The only downside to the visit was that we brought in our own cake and asked for a knife and they charged us for the knife & plates..which is fine but at least let us know about it & not just add it to the bill. Overall it was nice and I'd come again Food- 5 Drinks- 5 Service- 4.5 Ambiance- 3.5 read more

My family was here, so I stopped by. I placed an order to go of Polenta. I used to like it years ago. The inside decor hasn't changed in many many years. It felt and smelled a little old, but friendly and familiar. La Strada has always had consistent food and service which will have me stop in whenever I'm in the area. Thanks for a taste of home read more

My first time here, we had a family lunch with 7 of us. Everyone loved the food and we all ordered something different. Delicious! Our waitress was great. I didn't get her name, but excellent service. Would definitely come back if I am in the area. read more

Love this resting. The ambiance is good, makes you feel as if you're in beautiful Italy. The food and service are also very nice. The servers have been there for years. I'm still not accustomed to post pandemic prices but because Everything is so nice, I will have to accept their prices. It's not cheap but the food is great. read more

Great food!!! We have ordered for pick up as well as gone in there to eat. The seafood pasta is delicious. The service was slow, it took a while to place our order even though it wasn't busy. Also, we had to ask for our check twice and still waited. read more

Hello out there. My wife and I have ordered from this place a few times, delivery. Every single time has been an excellent eating experience. The quality of deliveries today are very poor, in general. Don't even get me started on how incorrect every burrito order we place comes incorrect and cold. That is definitely not the case with La Strada! We usually get the spaghetti and meatballs and the tortellini. Our most recent order also included the fettuccine Alfredo. Everything is always hot and Perfectly cooked. I have never had a mushy noodle from here. They know the correct way to cook pasta. Additionally, every order comes with a couple of different types of bread and butter. It's always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend La Strada!!! read more

We're regular LaStrada customers but tonight was a real bummer. i had made reservations the day before. We get there and there's a mob scene. after waiting 1/2 hour past our reservation time we went to Cugini is Berkeley and had a great meal. This made me angty. I haven't been here in quite a few years last night we decided to try it again. We started out with drinks. The Moscow mule and San Francisco sunset. The drinks were great. Good amount of alcohol. The bread was very good fresh baked and the oil was well seasoned. Side salad was basic but good. The meatballs were good and the garlic bread was amazing. The chicken Parmesan was very good. The polenta was great very rich and creamy. The veggies were good also. The desserts looked good but I was too full to try this time. I will definitely be back. read more

Paid $34.47 on Uber east for spaghetti & meatballs (extra sauce) & garlic bread 1. the 3 meatballs were huge but lacked flavor and the texture was off - it reminded me of vegan / fake meat which is off putting 2. The spaghetti order was pretty large but lacked the extra sauce I requested so the majority of my plate was dry spaghetti with thin/weak sauce . 3. The order. Comes with mounds of French bread so ordering garlic bread for an extra $$ is a waste. Especially since there's nothing special about it. Same French bread as the free version just (messily) slathered with butter and that minced garlic -- save the money and do this at home with the free side order of bread All in all for an Italian restaurant the most basic dish was a let down read more

This place has been around almost longer than I have! A staple restaurant in San Pablo, for sure! You can tell the age of this place by the inside: dark wood, low lighting, etc. It's not bad, just outdated. They converted some of their parking lot into outdoor dining with nice bench tables. They had heaters too since it is getting colder. Opera music was blasting on the speakers that it became awkwardly quiet when it stopped. Staff wear masks and I saw them wipe down chairs and tables after a customer leaves. Our waiter, Joey, was charismatic and attentive. I ordered the linguine vongole with white wine sauce and a side of minestrone soup. Both dishes devoured! My dad ordered the cioppino which was flavorful but I'd prefer the sauce to be thicker like sticking onto the seafood in the bowl. The overall dining experience was easy and there are no complaints. Would I come here again? Probably if someone else wants it. But on my own, probably not, I really enjoy La Famiglia and it's closer. read more

We ordered pick up. The person who took our order over the phone was friendly and professional. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxing atmosphere. We ordered spaghetti & meatballs, eggplant Parmesan, minestrone soup, crostini, tiramisu, and triple chocolate cake. Extra bread was added and appreciated. The portions were significant, enough for at least 4 meals. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our meals! read more

Their piccata is absolute perfection (they will make chicken if you ask rather than veal, which is what I always get). Other entrees are amazing too - pork chop, lasagna, tortellini, alfredo, etc! The salads are yumyums - the crab louie, greek, and the caesar. Service is impeccable - always lovely staff and very attentive! Ambiance is perfect - works for a "nicer night out, but not too stuffy/formal" read more

La strada is a staple when I have to go anywhere near Richmond. Constantly great Italian food. Pro tip: the coffee shot is basically an espresso martini made with actual espresso. The muscles and clams are phenomenal. The focaccia is excellent. Service is top notch and the ambiance is a traditional Italian restaurant. I like the back bar area that's lesser traveled. Great place to host a small gathering. read more

OMG! If there was EVER a reason for me to visit Richmond/San Pablo, this place would be it! Fresh ingredients, good strong drinks, who can ask for more! I can't remember the bartenders name, because she got me tipsy but she was the highlight of my visit! We came during happy hour and stayed until close and she was an absolute blast! 10 out of 1,000!! She can absolutely make a delicious cocktail or five! And Everything I ate, delicious! When I say fresh fresh! Everything was well crafted! I started with the happy hour menu and had the butterflied shrimp and Ceasar salad (t comes with fries but I'm on a diet soooooo) the bread basket came with 2 types of fresh soft warm bread with a garlic oil that would make you slap somebody, I then had the fettuccini Alfredo with sautéed mushrooms. It was made to order and extremely creamy! M I also had a taste of the meatballs with red sauce that are Michelin star worthy, filler where!! It didn't stop there because I then ordered the Parmesan wings which were fresh hot and delicious as well. I also tasted the polenta with rosemary chicken and when I tell you!! Chefs kiss! Light and creamy and full of flavor! I will definitely make the drive again! I'm bout to be a regular read more

We tried LaStrada last night and we're really impressed! The service was exceptional and the food was a 5 out of 5. service was good the people are nice but the food just really doesn't taste good, I went there last night and ordered a steak because I don't like anything else they have to offer how do you mess up a steak right? i ordered medium rare, I got raw. that meat was completely raw in the middle but I just thought it was rare because of the dim lighting, I got home to feed the rest of that steak to my cats and the middle was just absolutely raw. 2 hours later I got terrible food poisonin. Just stopped by for an after work drink and appetizer. Not looking for anything fancy, just wanted a quick bite and a drink to finish out my commute in traffic. We pulled into the parking lot at 5:40pm, walked in and ordered cocktails, shots and appetizers all before 6pm in order to get the happy hour deal, thanks to Tony. She gave great, precise and attentive service. We received, very delicate complimentary bread, two margaritas, two tequila shots, chicken wings, calamari and a tiramisu to go. The tiramisu is the only thing that made it in the picture because Tony brought out everything so swiftly. Plenty of seating on a Thursday after work during happy hour, so I definitely suggest checking them out. read more

There's nothing better than celebrating an anniversary and at La Strada, which is an old school traditional Italian restaurant in San Pablo, they really knows how to celebrate their silver anniversary by bringing back the prices of certain dishes on their menu for the same price they sold them back when they opened in the Adobe Plaza back in 1996. It's a genius idea really, and something they have done before in other years celebrating their birthday and with them celebrating their 25th birthday, this year felt extra special. And I wasn't the only one with this feeling, as although I had reservations for our party of six people, the Wednesday evening in which we arrived at La Strada was packed with diners, of which we learned those who had reservations and those who did not. Things being done at La Strada can be considered old-school at best as they only take reservations over phone or in-person and on the day we went since they were so packed with customers, it was virtually impossible to even approach the host stand to check-in to see if our table was ready. It turns out because we had a reservation for such a large party that our table was ready on time. Sitting in the back of the restaurant in the enclosed bar area allowed us to watch the television that was in the bar while we conversed and ate within our large party. Although the menu at La Strada is filled with old school Italian favorites split up into sections from Antipastos and Pizzas, Soups and Salads, Paninis, Pastas, Entrees, Extras, not to mention Desserts. But since we were here for such a special occasion we knew we were here for their special menu in which the prices for seven selected menu items were brought back down to the prices they were sold back in 1996 when they first opened. With this in mind, we decided to go bold and order all seven dishes and split them among all six of us. These dishes included their Bruschetta ($3.95), Eggplant Parmigiana ($8.95), Salsiccia Peperonata ($9.95), Fettuccine La Strada ($8.95), Petto di Pollo ($10.95), Scallopini Marsala ($11.95), and Calamari Steak ($10.95). As we waited for our meal, the staff at La Strada was always nice enough to make sure that we were served with a bread basket filled with half focaccia bread and sourdough baguette bread served alongside with a small bowl of olive oil dipping sauce and chopped garlic. Since our party was so large, we actually requested an additional basket of bread while we waited and the second time we were served a basket of warm bread, which made our evening of dining go even better especially with that bowl of garlic. Once our meal was presented, we had a bevy of Italian dishes to choose from and our meal began with their Bruschetta La Strada, which was toasted bread topped with Roma tomatoes, basil, garlic, and shave Parmesan cheese was a perfectly fine starter. Of their entrees, two particularly stood out with one being a surprise and one not being a surprise. The surprise turned out to be their Fettuccine Alfredo, which was pasta topped with butter, cream and Parmesan cheese. The not so surprising signature dish that was offered at a special price was their Scallopini Marsala which was their veal marsala topped with a marsala wine sauce served with a side of mushrooms and squash and a dollop of creamy polenta. With this dish, you receive three medallions of tender veal covered in sauce, which made it well worth the price even if it weren't on discount this week. Of the other dishes the Eggplant Parmigiana had some highlights thanks to the niceness of the breaded eggplant mixed with tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil. While the Petto di Pollo, which was a white wine sautéed chicken breast topped with sun-dried tomatoes, spring onions and artichokes, was a nicely plated dish that contained a number of fresh ingredients. It's important to note that every entree was served with a side variety of steamed vegetables and creamy polenta, which certainly fills you up. Our experience at La Strada was so wonderful that members of my party made sure to grab reservations for later that week before the special anniversary menu went by the wayside. Now that we know this is an annual event, you better be sure we're planning to come back for multiple visits whenever they have special events such as these. Where else can you find dishes for less than 10 dollars in this day and age? Even when they are not celebrating their anniversary with a special menu the prices are pretty competitive with a majority of dishes averaging 20 dollars and only some of their protein dishes on their secondi section of their menu costing anywhere from 26 to 35 dollars. I do wish they would sign up with an online reservation system so diners do not have to call in to see if tables are available. They even have a manager walking around checking on patrons occasionally singing to them in Italian! Only at La Strada you can experience this merriment, which makes it a truly special experience. read more

A great meeting place for food or drinks. Service was wonderful. They were friendly attentive and not intrusive. We throughly enjoyed our meals and our company. We were promptly seated at a table with menus. Water came and a basket of bread and focaccia arrived with with olive oil based dipping sauce. Next they gave us ample time to look over the menu. Waiter also informed us of their daily special. We opted to order the calamari and the meatball appetizer. The calamari was nicely fried and not greasy at all. The meatball..... omg. It was so good with the cheese and the sauce!! The snapper special was presented like a work of art. It was too pretty to eat. My son got the cheese ravioli with the marinara sauce. He enjoyed it very much. For the kids size portion it was a decent sized order. I had the linguine with clams. Yum!! Lots of clams and the white wine garlic sauce. So good! We ended our meal with tiramisu. It was delicious not too sweet and it was light. Perfect ending to such a great meal and meet up with friends. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu. They also have party rooms and full bar. read more

This is a great little restaurant recommended to me by my hotel. It was located only about 1 mile away, so truly convenient. Most of the customers were couples or families as you would expect from an Italian restaurant, but they do have a few tables for 1 along the street side of the building. I wasn't very hungry the evening I visited but ordered the carpaccio and beef ravioli. The flavor combination on the carpaccio was really delicious with the capers, lemons, etc. The ravioli was good, just sorta 2-dimensional. Service was okay, it could have been better. I ended up having to wait a while to order because I got stuck behind a large party nearby that also had my same server. After I finally ordered, a couple came and sat next to me and I noticed they ended up in the same predicament, having to wait a little too long to order due to the server being busy. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, he just didn't seem to bounce around like he should have. He stayed on one table for too long, catering to their every need before going to the next. read more

Later we started going to the one located in American Canyon and kind of forgot about this one. I ordered the fettucine alfredo with chicken and the salmon with lemon dill light cream for pickup. When I called to place my order I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I'm thinking, "sweet! I'm super hungry". Well it was ready in 15 minutes, but it was not sweet, sure the food was edible but it was not flavorful. Is this supposed to be authentic Italian food? According to their website, yes this is supposed to be authentic. The fettucine alfredo tasted like Pasta Roni, I could have saved money had I known this would be the case, bought Pasta Roni and made this myself. The chicken was lightly charred, I've never had charred chicken on my fettucine alfredo - I'm still not sure how I feel about that, I'm leaning towards I don't like it. The salmon itself tasted fine, but the lemon dill sauce was watered down and lacked flavor. I've had similar sauces to this before and they are usually a thicker gravy-like consistency. The salmon came with vegetables and maybe mashed potatoes, although it didn't taste like mashed potatoes so I'm thinking it was polenta based on some of the other reviews. They don't tell you this on their online menu, nor was this disclosed to me when I called. The upside, you do get free bread and butter with your order, you should eat your bread the same day, otherwise if you try to eat it the next day, you'll probably lose a tooth or two. read more
