    Temari Pop Up

The Study is in an odd place, but it was a cool vibe. We showed up for a temari pop up. Sat outside with friends and our puppy. The music was flowing and so was the natural wine. Most of my group enjoyed the red wine, but I was a fan of the strawberry sparkling white wine. Once the temari sampler came out, we were all happy. It came with 9 pieces per person. I didn't think I would get full, but it was very tasty. Every bite was well thought out with fresh ingredients. All in all I would come back to check out future pop ups.

Came here after some other wine tasting in the area. Hidden spot with a casual and easy going vibe to it. Comfy couches to sit in and try different wines from the cooperative. There's also some outdoor seating. Our host was friendly and fun. We tried 1-2 wines and settled on a sparkling and a red.

Natural wine bar and importer with great prices! Confession: I am not the biggest fan of natural wines. However, I was recommended this spot by my partner-in-wine and decided to go in with an open mind! Ended up purchasing three bottles of Purity Wine to compare- a Rhône blend (Strawberry Daze), and two Syrahs (Earth & Cherry, and Umé Bashi). The Umé Bashi tasted like earth and olives, but was slightly sharp- I paired it with truffle cheese to smooth out the sharpness. The Strawberry Daze was fruit forward and tasted like young red plums. The Earth & Cherry Syrah was my favorite - more earth and dark red cherry notes! While I'm still adjusting to slightly effervescent nature that the natural winemaking process brings forth, it was a fun to expand my wine palate! Affordable bottles and no corkage fees if you decide to imbibe on sight ;)

"Difficult choices, unlike red wine, rarely improve with age."--Richard N. Haass Cannot believe I haven't reviewed The Study yet. I've been here multiple times and it's a fun unpretentious wine bar featuring natural wine. It's owned by Noah of Purity Wine but you will run into many other wine makers here. Last weekend I tasted and bought a lovely Oregon Gamay. Easy choice: Visit The Study! They have light food items as well or go to Golden Gate Bistro and get a fab pulled pork sandwich. Highly recommended!

What a great find! We were randomly driving around and found this place. For now seating is outside and soon indoors will be available. The wines are organic and are from around the world. The wines here are like no other. Tyler was fantastic and introduced us to a number of unique wines. A great experience and we'll be returning soon!

Good wine, and low key spot! Both indoor and outdoor seating which was comfortable. We did their tasting, which was 4 wines for $10. We liked the wines, and ended up buying a bottle. The bottles were also reasonably priced. Especially if you enjoy natural wines, check this place out! The server said they change their tasting selection every week.

REVIEWER # 4 I first…read morediscovered Caria Wines during Taste of Richmond at Riggers Loft Winery and I'm so happy to have found this place! Relevantly new, this winery was founded in 2005 and made wine at the local winery in Alameda at Rock Wall Wine Company. As we all know, Rock Wall grew business really quickly and Caria Wines had to find another home. Caria Wines was discovered by two close friends: Charlie and Dick. Dick supplied the grapes and Charlie, with his amazing wine-making skills came together to create their first bottle of the 2005 Sauvignon Blanc (my personal favorite). Now they are nestled in Richmond with beautiful views overlooking the Bay Bridge and views of San Francisco, what more could you ask for? Carica Wine focuses on Red Rhone's, however, since I am not a big red wino I decided to try there tasty Sauvignon Blanc, which is really tasty and one of their popular whites on the white wine side of things. They offer Wine tastings and tours at their new location which is at the Riggers Loft, on the edge of San Francisco Bay in Richmond's Shipyard District. They also offer a Caria Wine Club which gives you: 20 % discount for wine purchases, Free tasting flight of Carica wines at the Tasting Room, 4 shipments per year( February, May, September, and November -- each with 4 bottles selected by the Winemaker) and best of all? Free to join! I will certainly be back to try more of their tasty wines!

I 'm looking forward to the Grenache on a picnic this summer. All the wines were low tannins and acid which is what I like. The fruit was bold and lush. So many to try. There are guided (takes you to the engine room) and self-guided tours; both are educational. The ship is managed by the Richmond Museum of History and the loving caretakers are volunteers. There is a small gift shop and theatre. Their existence is based on donations, pancake breakfasts, movie/hall rentals, and gift shop. The ship is not suited to persons with limited mobility. You have to walk up this steep, shaky steel ladder to get on board. Once on board, you have to walk up narrow stairs to go up and down floors. The engine room's ladder to go down was very steep. You couldn't see the rung of the next step. If you have a phobia, this is not for you. Just avoid the engine room. Aside from that, the ship was interesting and if you are a WWII history buff, this ship is worth seeing.

I'm glad I came on. It was a great start to 2025. Although the outside is rusting and really aging, the interior of the ship, the rooms are pretty much well kept. You can take your time to explore and read things on the self guided tour which me and my friend did. The inside of the ship is surprisingly very lively. There's a store, a dance room, and lots of the employees in their offices. It was a pleasant surprise. Apparently they have many things going on this ship like pancake days and other events. I would highly recommend keeping an eye constantly on your kids if they are crazy and like to run around a lot as this is not the place to be running around wildly. You can literally open any doors that's not locked and some leads to a dark area with pits that you can't see the bottom of. The railing on the higher levels have huge gaps that a kid can easily pass through if they rolled over and the fall (especially the last two upper deck levels) is guaranteed fatal. I focused more on exploring so didn't take much pictures. It is very likely I will be back on this ship again.

Tried a variety of great foods and wine along the way. They were prepared especially for us by the chefs at each restaurant. Had some delicious deviled eggs and hush puppies with honey butter at the tavern. It was served with a good glass of Chardonnay though I don't recall the name. At Sams had a delicious shrimp dish with crunchy toast. It was paired with a JCB Rose from Province that Renee brought She also gave us some lavender cheese which was a perfect complement to the wine. Went next door to Luma Blue and were served eggplant parmigiana paired with a bold Tuscan Red. Strolled to the cafe owned by the same family and got coffee with cannoli. To top it off we had Meyers port from Anderson Valley with a crunchy cookie (also from the cafe) at the top of Tiburon. It was a great unrushed tour through some of Tiburon's finest restaurants for delicious food and wine pairings. Great way to enjoy the town or to host out of town guests.

When I tasted the beef Philly I was ready to order one to go, but they had sold out. The rest of my friends had burgers, the vegetarian had fries, even the dog had a pup patty, and everyone enjoyed the food The music was almost too loud; however, because the stage is outside, it was not too uncomfortable. We heard two different bands. The loud music did make it hard to have a conversation. A word of warning that does not affect my rating: bees and yellow jackets are everywhere.
