I'm an out of town local who attended a birthday gathering for my husband's uncle this past Saturday and now I will be coming back again and again! The atmosphere was very nice, great lighting and very beautiful Victorian style artwork and structural pieces. We were a bit of a larger group, but the service was still absolutely amazing. They opened our bottles and served them, complete with ice buckets for the champagne (maybe this is typical and I just had a little culture shock, I'm not a frequent flyer of fancy stuff). We brought cakes for the birthday man and forgot candles, but no worries, they were accommodating enough to provide a few, bring the cakes out lit, and slice and serve both cakes for everyone there. The food was excellent, I had fresh tomato bruschetta, delicious Caesar salad, and delightful chicken Parmesan with polenta. We were here for 4 and a half hours and not once did I feel rushed or like we were burdening the staff. 5 stars for hospitality, ambiance, and food. We will definitely be back! read more

Martin came through for us! My husband's birthday party got larger than expected and he was able to accommodate us last minute. The food was incredible and even with all 25 of us, we didn't have a set menu which was great since we had people who needed special accommodations. The bartender was quick and friendly and she took care of us with all of our orders. We had the back of the restaurant and the ambiance was wonderful. I do like this restaurant and if you go here, you can order some good pasta, but they also have carpaccio. If you get a drink from the bar, you are gonna like it because they make good cocktails. Came in with coworkers for a nice outside of work get together. It was very crowded on this Friday night. Luckily we had reservations. The restaurant is quite large. And it also has a private banquet area downstairs for parties. They have great food. I had the Cioppino and it was excellent. The food came to the table piping hot with lots of different shellfish and a delicious broth. Other people told me that they loved the veal, the lamb chops, and the steak. The service was great. A classic Italian restaurant in San Pablo. Parking is easy since it is located in a small mall off of San Pablo Avenue. We were seated immediately. It was a Wednesday, so there were few other people there. The server came and asked if we wanted drinks. Water and bread came immediately. The focaccia was very tasty. We ordered the fried calamari for the appetizer. I had the veal cannelloni in a red sauce and my cousin ordered linguine with clams. The calamari was fine, crispy enough, but I thought a bit bland. The catsup and tartar sauce were bland, too. My cannelloni was fine. A touch too sweet for me but otherwise nicely prepared. My cousin thought his linguine was good. Service was very attentive. I went there ordered chicken Marsala and mashed potatoes. What I got was something nasty, bland, and tasteless floating in a liquid diarrhea type sauce. The chicken had no flavor. It reminded me of geriatric food that is served in a skilled nursing facility.The mashed potatoes were literally grits. I hate grits. After visiting my sister Joyce she decided to take us here for lunch because she had eaten there before. Friendly atmosphere Carlos our waiter was very helpful with us making a choice for lunch. He suggested the half chicken with wine sauce and mushrooms with mashed potatoes and spinach . Delicious choice. The decor is very elegant and so are the table settings. I go here every few years. It's a fancy place for the San Pablo area. It's a nice Italian restaurant. Kyle the bartender is amazing. He is so funny and always keeps me n professional. It's a pleasure to sit at the bar when he is working. I got the veal cannelloni and it was amazing. There's shredded veal inside of f crepes with a yummy sauce and spinach inside. For desert I did the bread pudding. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was yummy also and very filling. For a drink I got some sort of mixed drink, I forget the name but it was very satisfying and strong. I was very pleased. Everything was great as far as service and food. The place was packed on a Friday night. People really like this place. It's nice but it's casual, the way most Bay Area places are. My only complaint was the ladies room. It smelled bad the way places that are old and beat up smell. It really needs a remodel to get rid of that bad smell. The older gentleman who greets customers at the front door is awesome, it's always nice to see him. I give La Strada five stars. It's a good place to eat. Staff is awesome. read more

I went here with my family for my mom's birthday, and we had been wanting to come here since it was popular amongst our friends and neighbors, so we had high hopes for this restaurant. I had looked at the menu online beforehand and was excited to try some of the items. Some notes about what I tried: -bread for the bruschetta wasn't toasted -I ordered the rib eye. On the menu, the rib eye comes with peppercorn sauce or herb butter, potatoes, and spinach; sounds great! Our server didn't ask if I wanted sauce or butter. The steak was alright, and my spinach was cold. I'd honestly spend $40 for a better steak elsewhere... -I also ordered a side of pesto pasta, which is $10, and that wasn't a big deal. BUT, when my food came, they had replaced the mashed potatoes with my rib eye with the side of pasta I had ordered. I was a bit confused and thought it was a bit odd to pay an extra $10 for a side of pasta, even though I didn't receive 1/2 of the sides that were supposed to come with my $40 steak. Other things to mention: -Our server was nonexistent for our whole dinner. No one checked on us to see if everything was okay, if we needed anything, etc. With that service, it seemed a little unfair that they added an 18% gratuity for our party of 6 but also didn't really provide much service? -At the end of our dinner, a staff member was helping clear the table, and as he picked up a small dish of olive oil for the bread, the spoon from the oil had fallen from midair to the floor. He apologized for dropping the spoon but didn't apologize for the large splatter of olive oil on my mom's blouse. It's unfortunate because it was 1. Her birthday and 2. I went to the Rotary meeting one time and La Strada served the food because the meeting was held at their restaurant, downstairs, in a dark dining room. The Rotarians normally don't know quality and they have settled for this place where the food tastes really bad and very unhealthy. If you mention anything, they seem to get very defensive. Father's Day dinner at La Strada, and unfortunately I got sick from it (skip the dessert). My Dad has been craving Italian food and after our afternoon together, he wanted to come here to celebrate. I'd say he enjoyed his meal but my experience was so-so. The restaurant describes itself as Italian comfort food. They serve appetizers, sandwiches, pasta, and other protein entrees for brunch, lunch, and dinner. They provide complementary bread and olive oil which was nice. I wasn't in the mood for pasta and ended up getting their Petto di Pollo. Entrees come with polenta and vegetables but I asked for all vegetables. The presentation was a little sloppy and I felt my food was on the more basic and bland side. The chicken was moist and light, the vegetables were steamed with a slight crunch, but the dish didn't impress me and didn't come out hot. It was filling and I took the other half home. My Dad was very satisfied with his Linguini Cozze o Vongole. The pasta dishes did look good and I'd recommend going for those. We got a Creme Brûlée to share for dessert and it was terribly undercooked. The sugar on top was overly hard and parts of it more burnt than others. Instead of it being creamy and custard like it was pure liquid! It was also cold and underbaked--I ended up with food poisoning! Throughout the duration our service was okay. We weren't checked on at all aside from ordering and paying. Our food did come out fast which was good. I think the biggest draw is the interior which is rustic, beautiful, and romantic. The restaurant is fairly big with plenty of space for large parties as well as families, friends, or dates. Since I live further away, I don't plan to come back to La Strada but if you're in the Richmond area and wanting Italian food it's an option. service was good the people are nice but the food just really doesn't taste good, I went there last night and ordered a steak because I don't like anything else they have to offer how do you mess up a steak right? i ordered medium rare, I got raw. that meat was completely raw in the middle but I just thought it was rare because of the dim lighting, I got home to feed the rest of that steak to my cats and the middle was just absolutely raw. 2 hours later I got terrible food poisonin. Hello out there. My wife and I have ordered from this place a few times, delivery. Every single time has been an excellent eating experience. The quality of deliveries today are very poor, in general. Don't even get me started on how incorrect every burrito order we place comes incorrect and cold. That is definitely not the case with La Strada! We usually get the spaghetti and meatballs and the tortellini. Our most recent order also included the fettuccine Alfredo. Everything is always hot and Perfectly cooked. I have never had a mushy noodle from here. They know the correct way to cook pasta. Additionally, every order comes with a couple of different types of bread and butter. It's always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend La Strada!!! read more

Me and my girlfriends came here after a lovely day of wine tasting and I must say, they exceeded my expectations. We found them on Yelp as a restaurant option not too far away and decided to give them a try. Well, I'm glad we did because the food here was absolutely delicious!!! The drinks were just as good, we originally didn't plan on drinking anything alcoholic after the wine tasting BUT their drink options were so Fire we HAD to! We opted for the Moscato Sangria and boy was that drink gooooooooood!! The only downside to the visit was that we brought in our own cake and asked for a knife and they charged us for the knife & plates..which is fine but at least let us know about it & not just add it to the bill. I haven't been here in quite a few years last night we decided to try it again. We started out with drinks. The Moscow mule and San Francisco sunset. The drinks were great. Good amount of alcohol. The bread was very good fresh baked and the oil was well seasoned. Side salad was basic but good. The meatballs were good and the garlic bread was amazing. The chicken Parmesan was very good.
