Too much cake to eat it all.
    Jules H.

This cafe doesn't look much from the outside ... and to be honest, it doesn't look that great from the inside either. But the food is soooooo yummy. We had smooth hummus to share in the beginning. My friend then had a lovely toasted ciabatta sandwich with roasted vegetables and I had a walnut and goats cheese salad (sooo much cheese and soooo many walnuts). I did not expect this cafe to come up with such nice food and was proven wrong. It was delicious and affordable. They also have cakes on display ... it was proper cake porn ... and I could not by the live of me resist the temptation of a small slice of heavenly dense chocolate brownie cake with cream. It nearly killed me (like the fat man in Monty Python), but it was worth it. One thing: No card payments. Only cash.

    Strawberry Tart

TL;DR 10/10 would recommend, the desserts are a must. An unassuming little cafe located directly across from Duke of York's theatre, the casual and simplistic atmosphere is more than made up for in the quality of their desserts and pastries. Plated with a detail towards artistry, the strawberry tart was light and the black forest gateau was extraordinary. It makes for a wonderful meal between matinee and evening performances with a generous pot of tea.

Good spot for quick meal in the West End

When you need a tasty and quick bite to eat in the West End, the Café at La Roche is a perfect pit stop. La Roche has a full-scale restaurant of the same name next door to the café but the café is quicker, more informal, and cheaper. There is a great array of pastries and Lebanese influenced dishes on offer at the café. I really like the Lebanese moussaka served with crispy pita bread. It's tasty, it's filling, and it's healthy. Keep the Café at La Roche in mind for lunch or a West End pre-theatre meal.

Service is reserved and slow. Food is mediocre. Location is good, that's where I got tricked. All in all - tourist trap.

The lamb kofta was verry tasty. Not too many vegetarian options but one of the few that they have was tasty too (moussaka).
