The La Quinta Ely. I never thought that Ely would get anything better than a Holiday Inn(which is now the Prospector and where I usually stay). I`ve stayed at this hotel a few times with my family while in town and I decided to give them a try on my solo mission. I feel like I got the full La Quinta experience staying alone and I feel I am now worthy of writing this review since I paid and I stayed. First the pros: This IS the nicest hotel in town. It is newer, clean, and the staff is friendly. They offer free breakfast in the morning which is nice. It is your standard fare of bagels, juices, fruits, waffles, eggs, etc, etc. I didn`t go down for breakfast this last time but I`ve been down before and it isn`t bad at all. Good job, La Quinta! The rooms are spacious and for the most part clean and have a fridge and a microwave which is convenient. The hotel is centrally located but just off the main road so it is quiet. There are restaurants nearby and there is even a grocery store in the parking lot. Points, points. Now onto why this place only gets 3 of my very shiny stars: The price. This is a La Quinta, I get it, BUT this is also Ely, NV. Get with it people. I think around $100 would be pushing what is fair to stay here but I paid nearly $120 and to me that is a bit pricey for this town. Offer some specials, please. The next thing is that the room I stayed in smelled HEAVILY of cleaner. Like, it gave me a mild headache when I first got into the room. It dissipated, no big deal, but get that worked out WAY BEFORE your guest is to stay in a room. The t.v. is HD but they fail to get HD service so the picture quality is acceptable at best. The biggest reason this place only gets 3 stars is because the mattresses are awful and super uncomfortable. Each time I stay here it is the same. The mattresses are rock hard and I toss and turn all night. NOT very restful, La Quinta! I`m on the fence about actually footing the bill for another room here in the future. If they would update their cable services, change their mattresses, and not let the room smell like chemicals that would be cool. Give the people what they want! Please? read more

We've stayed at other la quintas in Cali and decided to book here since we've always had great experiences at their other locations. Stayed here over the weekend with my family. Reserved 2 rooms. Check was easy and staff was nice. Our rooms were right next to each other and were super clean. And my kids loved their breakfast buffet. They never disappoint! read more

After a long day of travel, we finally got to our 1st stop in Ely, NV before we to Brianhead, UT to check out the National Parks. I researched on-line on where we can stop along the road trip and of course I always check yelp to check out reviews and pictures. I have also researched the area for other hotels and there isn't much in Ely, NV. As for the price it is a very fair price for a two bedroom suite that we got just to stay for the night and have a good rest. So, as we got there we checked in and went to our two bedroom suite and it is more that we expected but it wasn't much more than their normal rooms...just separated bedrooms for more privacy instead of just two beds in a room like any other hotels. In short, it was a GREAT DECISION! Omg, this was the nicest and cleanest room we have ever stayed in a small town out of nowhere. My boyfriend, sister, brother-in-law and I still talk about the sheets and the bed, so comfortable! The continental breakfast was better than other hotels. It is a self-serve breakfast with various choices of cereal, yogurt, fruits, bacon, egg, sausage, biscuit, gravy, and make your own waffles. As for the drinks they have coffee, milk, hot chocolate and tea. Everything was so nice, it was hard to find something wrong with this place. I recommend to definitely stay here if your passing through this area of NV. read more

This was a perfect overnight travel stop. It was very clean, modern, moderately priced and the room was spacious. Staff was courteous. There was a full breakfast buffet, not just a "continental" breakfast. Couldn't have asked for more. read more

Stayed a few days and had super comfortable beds. Room was clean, hotel fairly quiet and good breakfast. Had to get extra towels and wash clothes but not a big deal. The suite rooms are in a separate building with no elevator. That was a challenge for a family member with us and we didn't know prior. The hotel is also next door to a grocery store and dollar store, so super convenient there. I'd definitely stay there again. read more

Nice hotel with no casino in it, one of the few around here without one it seems. The room was fairly large in size, clean, no issues except for a view of the front awning. read more

La Quinta by Wyndham Ely - Quite possibly the worst view I've ever had in a hotel. This is architecture at its dumbest. - Hotels Near Me - Ely, Nevada

The place is clean with comfortable beds and is quiet. The breakfast that they offer is ok I guess. The usual cereal, packaged oatmeal, cheese/ omellette, with no meat offered. For the price you would expect more. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. We booked three rooms and when we arrived they had one. They stated that they could not give us a refund for the other two because of the third-party booking. I have worked with Priceline for a refund, but again a big no-go. I paid $660 for one room in Ely, Nevada without anyone making any effort to provide basic customer service. Appalling. Do not stay here or use Priceline! read more

The room smelled like cigarette smoke so I called downstairs to see if it was in fact a nonsmoking room. She didn't offer to move us. Instead she said the air conditioners bring in smoking from the smoking patio outside and it's the same in every room. read more

This is your typical chain motel/hotel. It was very clean and neat. Rooms were fairly big with all the usual amenities. Staff was pleasant and professional. They allowed us to park our motorcycles out front under the canopy. I do think they are way overpriced for where they are located. WE were there in the summer of 2017 on a motorcycle trip. I'll probably will look elsewhere when in Ely due to the overpriced rooms. read more

We have always stayed at this La Quinta on our way to AZ. This time we were disappointed as the floors were extremely dirty in the hall ways and entry way. The beds were fairly comfortable except I wish they would use cotton sheet covers. The bathroom was not nearly as clean as before. I had to wipe some white crusty(looked like toothpaste)off the bathroom counter. The bathroom side boards and floors looked dirty. The bathroom next to the kitchen area was also dirty. It just isn't keep up like it used to be. Would be nice to have hot cooked oatmeal(like in a crock pot). read more

Stayed there last night for the first time. My room didn't have any heat. When I called down to front desk, they instructed me to try something. It didn't work and by then, I was chilled to the bone. He came up & couldn't get it to work, so finally moved me to another room. The new room wasn't clean, was missing a box of Kleenex, & the laundry bag full of holes They seemed very annoyed with me, so just let it go. After several days of posting this, no one commented or attempted to reach out. Actions speak leaps & bounds. It's pretty evident they don't care. They have def proved that. read more

Had the worst experience with this location and will not be using it for the next trip. Staff was extremely offensive and rude, and it was just overall a bad experience. Too bad they don't know how to just be polite read more

We enjoyed that they offered two bedrooms for a hotel room. However, we weren't too pleased when we had to go to another building and pick up extra pillows and beading for our son who was sleeping on the pull out couch. Also the bathtub was dirty so I had to clean it before kiddos took showers. read more

La Quinta has become my go-to choice for lodging. They consistently offer a quality, clean room with extra perks that are very comforting while away from home... and this location is no exception. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. You are well insulated from the noises of your neighbors. There is an indoor pool and hot tub to help you unwind and relax after a day behind the wheel, and a fitness center in case you need to work out some road rage. The included breakfast offers cook-it-yourself waffles, sausages, scrambled eggs, plus the usual cereal, muffins, fresh fruit, and juice. As an added bonus, this location is right next to a Ridley's grocery store. This can come in handy if you realize you failed to pack something for your trip. In my case, I was craving a Mountain Dew but the La Quinta vending machines did not offer it, so I took the 10-second hike to go get one. Please note: the store's price for a 20-oz bottle of soda was higher than the machines in the hotel! $1.65 + tax verses only $1.50 at the vending machine. Score another point for La Quinta. Yes, there are cheaper options in town. If you're willing to give up a number of conveniences and some cleanliness, they might be enticing to you. But for a worry-free, relaxing stay, this La Quinta represents an excellent value. read more

Hooray!! Finally a decent hotel in Ely. I have been coming here for the past several years in my work with BLM. The hotel is convenient, close to restaurants and the grocery store. New, clean, and fresh. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. The only thing that could make it better would be a fitness room. read more

We traveled to Ely to pick up a travel trailer. Stayed at La Quinta the night before picking it up. Seems like a newer facility. It was the first day for the desk clerk (Chamie, I think), and she did an excellent job. Maybe one of the very best check-ins I've had. Friendly and professional. Milk and cookies were available for all guests. Our room was huge. Two queen beds, a sofa sitting area, and a chair with footstool on the other side. Mini fridge, microwave. Very quiet place. All non-smoking. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Clean, big breakfast room with a view. Outdoor seating available, too. Had omelet, biscuits and gravy, waffles, toasted bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juices, etc. Very reasonably priced. Wish we could find a place as nice as this other places we travel!! read more

This place was the best thing in this town... Clean and reasonably priced especially considering the free breakfast that you get in the morning. However it is a diamond in a cat turd.... I will never return to this town. In an otherwise beautiful part of this country this town is a blight by comparison... "Clean it up people!" read more

Best la quinta we have stayed in ever! After driving on the loneliest road in America it is a wonderful surprise to find such a great place to spend the night. Rooms are bigger than ever, pets are welcome, and the place is so clean. I was actually surprised!! If you are choosing where to stay, it is a ok brainier. Stay here. read more

We stayed here when passing through Ely last weekend. It is very nice, clean and the staff is very nice. The breakfast is decent with plenty of variety for whatever you feel like having. The rooms are spacious and no pet fee! We stayed on the first floor since we had a small dog and the rooms were clean and it wasn't noisy with the other dogs in the surrounding rooms. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a king bed and had to settle with a room with two queen beds, but it was still comfortable. read more

More like a Laquinta...not an inns and suites furniture very outdated, Internet very slow however the staff is very very friendly and accommodating! Room was very clean but certainly not worth $160 a night! Hot tub out of order!!! read more

Outstanding customer service. Although a mistake was made in my end in booking dates, and I never checked it, they waived the cost of the night for me even though they were booked and lost money for it. I would absolutely choose this La Quinta to stay at in the future. read more

No meal grab and go here! The breakfast area was open with all the trimmings! We stayed April 8-9, 2021 and we're quite impressed by the breakfast staff at La Quinta. I recently took a motorcycle trip around central NV and had occasion to stay at this facility. It was lovely, clean and the personnel were most helpful. I could recommend this location to anyone traveling. The breakfast gets you on your way without having to take the time to catch a bite elsewhere. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way from Colorado to Lake Tahoe. The rooms were clean, checkout was late (at noon), and breakfast was good. What made me give 5 stars, though, is the staff. Thank you, La Quinta in Ely, you're doing a great job! read more

After looking trip expenses I see I was lied to about "the military rate being cheaper." Total for the Government Rate was $105.56, while the Military rate was $111.87. Thanks for your service indeed. Management needs to address lying by front desk staff. read more

Would give 5 stars but our fridge was broken in our room and we lost ice cream and leftovers. What a great find in the middle of nowhere! This is by far the nicest La Quinta we have ever stayed at. Huge rooms with queen size beds, nice size bathroom, better than average hotel room towels, and the breakfast...wow! Two waffle makers, eggs, juices, milk, cereal, side dish, fruit, breads, oatmeal, and 16 different types of tea most of which are herbal! The breakfast room is HUGE with plenty of tables. Cookies and milk are served nightly from 6pm - 8pm and you can get hot drinks all day/night. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The laundry room has two washers and dryers, but the dryers are slow. On our last night the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm and the hotel was evacuated. Once the fire department arrived and gave the all clear we were brought back inside. We weren't told what happened but we're grateful to be back in the warm hotel! When traveling to Ely we will stay here again. read more

Ely is our halfway point for our travels to CO and this hotel is our favorite place to stay. It's clean, the staff is friendly, they provide a decent breakfast. This will continue to be our go to place to stay when we travel. read more

The best and only place to stay in Ely Nevada! Rooms are clean and large, dog friendly, they have a small gym/pool. Free breakfast/food in the morning. I arrive pretty late some times 11pm thru 1am. Front desk staff is always there and ready to check me in. I'm there almost every week and they know me by name and are very friendly. Ive stayed at some of the other hotels in Ely Nevada and would rather sleep in my rental car than sleep in any hotel other than La quinta. La quinta is the only hotel that doesn't smell like a 50 year old ash tray and by far the newest and cleanest. It's the best place to stay in Ely and sells out quickly, so book early. read more

It would be 4 & a half maybe even going on 5 if not for one issue...... Let me start with the good. Staying in Ely for a overnight rest stop. Exhausted from driving. Pull into our pre booked accommodation @La Quinta & are pleasantly surprised. Check in was easy, staff friendly & we arrive in our very clean, spacious room. I realise after a short time that we can hear a loud thumping. We were placed right next to the "Fitness Centre" & we can hear someone pounding away on the treadmill. It's approx 5:30pm so no big deal. But it made me think to ask front desk what the hours are for the gym. I am informed by a nice staff member at the front desk that the "Fitness Centre" hours are 9am-10pm. Those are acceptable hours so i leave it at that. 6AM!!!!!!!! Following morning. We wake up to THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! Seriously! We were told 9am?!?! After 15 mins i get up & go to the front desk. The staff member at the front desk...... NOT helpful at all. But she does agree that it is normally 9am for the gym. We listen to that Thump thump thump for the next 40 mins. Well needless to say we do not get back to sleep & we have a very long drive ahead. Breakfast is decent. When i check out i of course i am asked "Did i enjoy my stay?" i inform the front desk staff of this issue. I am informed by this staff member that the "Fitness Centre" does actually open @ 6am! Well Damn!!!!! I would have requested another room if i had been informed of this when i 1st asked! Please get your act together staff! The girl at the front desk does say that if i had not pre paid my room through another site she could offer me a discount. Lot of help that is.... ( Not her fault). If not staying in room #107 you will probably have a great stay. read more

Good staff. Clean rooms and hotel. Decent prices. We love La Quinta and this one didn't stop they love affair.

We have been coming here for over 6 years and the staff here is the best. My wife is handicapped and everyone goes out of their way to help her. Spent Friday night at La Quinta in Ely, Nv. The staff were friendly and helpful. The king bed room was large. The bed sunk towards the middle. The room was clean and the bathroom towels were big and fluffy. It was a warm evening, so we kept the air conditioner on all night. Every time it cycled on it mad a loud buzzing noise that woke my wife and I up frequently during the night. We were on the 4th floor, which we were told was pet -free. I have experienced "Pet Friendly" hotels that were infested with flees (not this one). I was assured when I made the reservation and when I checked in that no pets were allowed on the 4th floor. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and 2 doors down a lady was walking her 2 Labrador Retrievers down the hall as she left her room. When I mentioned the dogs at check out, the clerk shrugged her shoulders and was not surprised. It was a smoke free hotel which was nice, since most hotels in Ely are connected to a smoky casino. It was OK...but at $150.00 a night with a military discount...I felt grossly overcharged. read more
