Husband and I stayed here for 1 night. We got a non-smoking room with a king size bed and sofa in the room. Room was spacious. Bed is very comfortable with plenty of pillows. There is a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, iron, iron board, and hairdryer. You also get a packet of complementary chocolate chip cookies and 2 water bottles. How thoughtful, it's the little things that count :) Casino is small but this would have been perfect had my mother in law joined us for this trip. Wouldn't have to worry about her getting lost. She loves to gamble but husband and I aren't into that so we didn't play. Pool and jacuzzi are inside. Gives me 70s vibe but I think it's groovy. Didn't use it though, forgot my swimsuit. There is a restaurant on site that is open 4pm-9pm. We didn't eat there but that is convenient so you don't have to leave the property. However there is a couple other restaurants that are walking distance from here. They have a grab and go breakfast bag but we didn't get it. Gym is not on the property. It's about 3 blocks away. You will be given a pass to Anytime Fitness. Dog friendly!!! And as of 5/6/23 free of charge for your fur baby. Only con is there isn't a designated spot for your doggie to do their business. However, this wasn't a problem for me since I like to walk my dog for at least a mile so I just walked around the area...I saw some deers !!! The price was worth it for us. We paid $136 for a Saturday. The room was clean, lots of amenities, friendly staff at the front desk, and my favorite it is dog friendly. We would stay here again if we return to Ely :) read more

Booked two nights here to visit the area. It turned out to be a good deal. When we arrived, the front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. We got in around 2pm and took a chance that we could check in. Luckily, there were rooms ready for us and we put into a ground floor room at the "annex' which is diagonally across the street. I'm sure it was another motel at one time and was taken over by Ramada for an expansion. The room we got was a ground floor and in the corner. The room showed some signs of wear, but it was very clean and comfortable. It was spacious enough for us and our 2 dogs. It came with two bottles of water in the fridge and cookies, both were complimentary. Breakfast was pre-packaged at the front desk and it had a breakfast sandwich, juice, breakfast bar and fruit, all in paper bag for you to take with you either back to your room or on the road. There is no fitness center at the property, but you sign out a fob and go a short distance up the street to Anytime Fitness, which beats any hotel fitness center. Like it's been pointed out in other reviews here on Yelp and other sites, the swimming pool and hot tub are in the lobby, just past the slot machines. I've never seen that before! Overall, it was a great experience staying here and will again whenever we are back in the area. read more

Here in the Fall during Covid. The staff we interacted with wore masks, and most others generally did. The locals using the slots or sitting around a table smoking and visiting were not in our area. Ely is not a town that generally lives like Covid exists. The room was nice. It was well priced and located. I'd come back. They were small dog friendly. I can honestly say this was a 5 star stay. Check in was super easy. The ladies at the front desk were lovely. My room was clean and tidy and the bed was incredibly squishy. Despite smoking being allowed, it didn't smell super smokey. Due to covid, the continental breakfast was a grab and go. It had string cheese, piece of fruit, juice, and a jimmy dean breakfast sandwich inside. As an archaeologist, we stay in several small towns and this was one of our best stays. read more

When leaving for the day we found a note on the door that said maintenance will be entering room to install new curtains. Our room did not have a safe, thus we were uncomfortable with allowing someone into our room. We were scheduled to check-out the next day and asked the property to delay the curtain install by one day. Their response amazed me! We will not delay! Either the install occurs today or you have to leave now! When I refused they called the owner of the property who threatened with calling the sheriff to have us removed. To make the situation worse, this Ramada has many other problems. Three examples: the beds are so soft that sleep is difficult. The air conditioner was unable to keep our room cool. The shower head was not functional. The breakfast is so bad we ate breakfast elsewhere. read more

Cons... Room was filthy upon checkin. Musty, dank odor throughout room. Carpets were stained and definitely in need of a thorough deep cleaning. Walls were filthy with stains from unknown substances. Room reeked of smoke although we requested a non-smoking room. Pool and slots were feet from our door and the noise and smoke coming from these areas into the hotel space was unbearable. We slept in our clothes and didn't even bring up our luggage due to the uncleanliness. Pros... Front office staff was friendly. Terrible motel casino to stay at. It shouldn't have the Ramada name on it. Made reservation for non-smoking room but whole Casino is smoking & you can't get away from it. Checked in at desk & it reeked of cigarettes. Room was across a very busy street, in the dark, in 11 degree weather. Key cards didn't work so had to go back for new ones & it didn't work either, had to do 2x. Ate at Italian Restaurant upstairs & again cigarette smell spoiled an already lousy spaghetti & meatballs that tasted like Chef Boyardee in a can. Will pass on free breakfast since it's in this restaurant too. Place just Sucks & I will pass on all Ramada's from here on out. read more

Expecting alot more from Ramada INN as l have stayed in many of them. This one was a terrible disappointment. Asked for non smoking room and it had a awful smell of cigarette smoke and cleaning fluid. I already have a head ache from it. One of my kids have been coughing since we walked in. They do get s star for as good bed. The gal at the front office is was nice and helpful with checking in. We all woke up with sore throats from the smoking room.... there was a used dirty towel on the back of the door, that was not ours. Decent normal continental breakfast. Not for families traveling with children. Reserved on hotels.com and no mention of the casino or smoking. If you are sensitive to the smoke dont stay here. Also if you dont want to hear the casino noises all night, this isn't the place for you. I also found it confusing where to go to check in because you pretty much walk into a casino. The restaurant is non smoking, however all the smoke goes into the open area. The shower didnt want to drain and almost pulled the knob out of the wall to turn the water on as it is not secured. I stayed here just overnight about a week ago. My room was in the main building. It was excellent. The room was clean ;the bed was comfy; everything was great! The staff at the desk check-in, that evening, and the next morning at check-out were great. They were very friendly, very helpful and accommodating, and extremely nice. I was in the main building. I have since talked to a couple of people who have stayed there recently but were in the Annex , which is across the street. Apparently the Annex is not a place to be! So BEWARE OF THE ANNEX! I did stay at a different location on my return trip, mainly because of the price and the possibility that I would have to be in the Annex. read more

We stayed at the Ramada-Stockmans in Elko, and the staff was very conscientious about wearing masks. Here, however, housekeeping workers were not wearing masks at all while we were there. The toilet was child size--never seen one like it in a hotel. The brown bag breakfast was also targeted toward children--Fruit Loops or Lucky Charms. It was ok for a night while traveling, but we won't return. read more

I'm sorry I can't give this hotel ZERO STARS. Worst management and customer service I have ever dealt with for a Wyndham chain hotel. Checked into our room in the annex and checked the bedding - found a dirty comforter on one bed and dirty linen on the 2d bed. Called and ask the staff for clean linens, volunteered to change the linen myself and my husband walked across the street to get the linens because they didn't want to change them. Was asked to move didn't want to move into the main part of the hotel due to cigarette smoke - I have a smoke allergy. Was called back and ask to move again because they COULDNT FIND any clean linens. Said no and they said they were going to call their manager to figure out what to do. He called - VERY ANGRY AND AGGRESSIVE on the phone and informed me we had to leave because I was abusive to his staff - Because I ask them to give me clean linen in a supposedly clean room I was PAYING almost $100 to stay in - and that's with a military discount. Yes my husband and I are both Vets. This is totally unacceptable and if I had my way this hotel would NOT be associated with Wyndham in any way shape or form. Will be boycotting this place and hope ALL other veterans will as well. Totally rude staff. Totally rude Management. Unclean room read more

Friendly staff here with a small casino. Stayed 2 nights and the people at the front desk were helpful. There's a casino and a pool / jacuzzi. There's a lil bar with beer, Wine and spirits.Evahs Italian restaurant located inside Ramada has good food. They also do Bingo at night. Hotel itself was nice enough (pretty standard Ramada accommodations). Clean, comfy beds, but a little outdated. We actually stayed twice on a road trip from Phoenix to Tri Cities, WA and then back. Staff was what really made this place great... we have twin infants and were exhausted by the time we checked in both nights. Staff made check-in and out quick and easy. They also provided us with a room that would cause the least disturbance for neighbors (as requested by us... no one wants to hear two babies crying all hours of the night!). Then, about an hour after checking out from our second stay (on 11/27), I panicked when I realized I had forgotten a few jewelry items which hold huge sentimental value (in memory of our son who passed away in 2014). I called scared that they were gone forever... the desk staff (so sorry I didn't catch her name) was friendly and understanding. She took my information and agreed to mail the items, if found. She also called a little later to put my mind at ease that the items were in fact found, in the mail, and when to expect them by. I am so so thankful for this person, and happy to recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Ely. Thank you again! read more

Bad experience on all levels. I was escorting my elderly parents on a sightseeing trip across the Great Basin. Already a bleak adventure, Ely shows up as a stopping point. Booked a night at the Ramada. Luckily, placed at the building across the street away from the dark, cigarette smoked main building, which is a frumpy has-been casino of the past. Grossly overpriced exceeding $100 per night. Outdated, non-smoking room smelled of cover-up cleaning chemicals. Tiny bathroom. The only thing going here was the reasonable sleep on a satisfactory bed. Returned to the main building across the street upstairs for the free breakfast the next morning. Dim, smoke stink, depressing dining area above the ancient casino. Several young men came out of nowhere, loading up their plates to the limit, and quickly left. Obviously, outsiders sneaking out food. There was no staff to stop them. Not that I'll ever see Ely, NV again, but farewell to the Ramada for sure! read more

When I checked in,, I mentioned to the clerk I requested a smoke free room, but some how it reserved a smoking room. She very rudely said that's because we don't have any smoke free rooms. I said but I even messaged asking for a smoke free room and got a message back saying all rooms are smoke free at this facility. She than replied that's because you book through booking.com it's the worse third party site to book through. Well seeing it was none refundable, I took the room thinking it can't be that bad.. The room was so thick in smoke smell it was like a camp fire was burning in our room. So bad my eyes were burning. I wore a mask and still could smell it through it. We had Lysol spray which didn't even help with the smell.. We were just going to eat the cost of the room and go somewhere else, when my sister thought of putting peppermint oil in our mask to cover the smell. Thankfully it worked. Woke at 4am showered and left. Stay away from this place unless you are a smoker. read more

Nice family operated motel, restaurant and casino. No live gaming with no coin operated slots. Smoke isn't bad. Indoor pool and jacuzzi that have been updated in the last year. Rooms have been updated with some mini-suites, 48-inch flat screens too. Four channels of HBO. Rates vary season season between about $70 to $95 a room. Pets are welcome. Restaurant is italian themed, favorites are oven-baked pastas. Very good sandwiches, big salads, paninis, and the best pizza in Ely. Little bar with five micro-brews on tap and lots of bottled beer. Staff efforts and compassion make this place worth the stop. Not your normal hotel entrance, the customer (patient? client? guest?) must plod through a lobby lined with one-armed bandits to find the desk--which resembles a casino cashier's desk more than a hotel m'aitre d's. And it smells like ... well it IS a casino. Keep that in mind. My husband booked this room for me... and he's pretty sharp, pays attention to detail. After a 12-hour driving day I arrived tired and ready for some sleep. I was given the room he booked, one facing the road, a SMOKING room ... across the five-lane road. Did I mention that I am NOT a smoker? I had no choice; it was paid for (I doubt my hubby would book me a smoking room but we'll take that on later.) I was given the key to check it out ...my first decision was "is it crazy to drive myself across the street to check out a hotel room? Or should I just risk it? ..." I was thinking about instead driving into the desert somewhere, emptying my fully-loaded car and sleeping in the back of it, whether the room was paid for or not. I was glad I'd brought my sleeping bag. When I returned to the desk, having decided that the room was dreadful but maybe since I'd left the fan running it would get better, I tried to be cheerful. "Maybe I'll become a smoker and it won't seem so bad," I told the busy staff. Secretly I was thinking I'd take a hot shower then head for the hills with my sleeping bag, even though the temperature outside was now in the 20s. The two ladies on duty said they didn't want to turn me into a smoker and shuffled some things around. I'm not sure what magic they conjured but I ended up in a crisply clean room on the west side of the road that smelled of cookies and mints. My sense of it is that the owners of this place are working their staff hard and that those ladies at the front (is it the front?) desk deserve some raises. read more

Clean room. NICE bed. We stayed at the annex. There are easily 2 parking spots for each room unless you're driving a pickup. There are extra parking spots at one end of the building. Thankfully, when we asked about pets, they understood that we have a dog and they put us on the first floor with a door directly outside. It isn't new by any means but it is clean, quiet and very comfy. They go a bit beyond some places with added in-room amenities including makeup remover, shower cap and salon quality grooming products. My favorite thing? The curtains dont cover the hvac unit so the air from it actually blows INTO the room instead of out the window like half (or more) of the places I've stayed. Hard to be comfy when you're freezing or sweating. If I come through Ely again, this place will be on the short list. read more

Would give this hotel a negative 5 star if at all possible. The biggest reason is that the employees are RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. We stayed for two nights the welcome was fine and friendly at the beginning. The second night turned bad and when I say bad I seriously mean bad. One lady at the front desk was completely unfriendly and was not helpful at all. My players card for the casino would not work. I was dismissed multiple times and told it should work just try a different machine. After about the fourth trip to the front desk and a different employee to print me a new card. To beat all the owner will be completely inhospitable and belittle you. If you have any kind of complaint he will tell you you dont have to be there. Which is true, and trust me I will not be back and will not recommend this hotel at all. read more

We arrived an hour and a half before the indicated checkin and were told not rooms were available and that check in was actually not until 3:00 but she maybe would have something at 2:30pm. (I could have made a point to tell her that my email confirmation stated checkin was actually a 2 but I let that go) After getting lunch we headed back. We were directed to a building across the street. I noticed upon pulling up in front of the new building that the access to the rooms are located on the outside of buildings and I actually make it a point to stay in hotels that do not have this! This is very misleading I feel and should announced when the room is assigned. I let this go as well and went up to the second story (no elevator with this building either) The door was very difficult to open and the handle seemed to get stuck very easily. I noticed once inside the door did not completely shut all the way either, barely able to lock the deadbolt. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The heat/cooling unit under the window worked well, keeping the room comfortable. Another bummer I could have complained about was the fact that there was a sofa bed listed with the room description, which was not actually included with the room. There was barley room for a lounge chair next the window. There was also a desk area, mini fridge, microwave and a one cup coffee maker. The bathroom remained cold the whole stay and the toilet was pretty low the ground which I think would be challenging to someone who had a hard time getting up and down. The shower head was also pretty low on the wall which makes me think this room would be perfect for someone no taller than 5 feet but certainly not the average size person. You had to bend down or backwards to get your hair wet. If I had to stay here for longer than the one night that I had planned for I probably would have asked for a refund and switched hotels. The only positive was the beds were comfortable and plush and I was able to get some sleep. I'd like to say I know better for next time, but I seriously doubt I'll ever venture back to Ely Nevada. read more

Did not realize this was a motel (maybe that was my fault). Somewhat annoyed that the check-in desk is by the casino/restaurant but the motel rooms are across the street. This makes choosing where to park annoying. Plus, there's not enough parking near the motel to accommodate all rooms. Breakfast was underwhelming - but no one else was there but me/the boyfriend, so it seemed ok. Eggs and potatoes + all the normal cold items. read more

Due to my job I am at this establishment somewhat regularly, so they know "us" and they treat us nice even though our company is not liked up here. The copper flat bar located here has a good dinner menu compared to other locations in this town, but the breakfast are pretty bad. I can't eat any of the warm/hot food, it's just plain bad. The rooms are nice and clean and they have great TV's. If you use the pool you feel like you are a zoo animal as it is in the middle of the "casino". There does seem to be allot of tweakers (as expected in a town this size) hanging around. read more

Unless you're absolutely desperate for a room (which we were not), do not let them pawn off room 305 on you. Why? Because the non-annex rooms are located in the "casino", and room 305 on the ground floor, has a bank of video slot machine sitting right in front of it... a few feet from the door. When I inquired about the potential noise level after the room was booked, and the location pointed to by the desk (the machines and the room door is visible from the check in desk), they lied through their teeth saying " it shouldn't be a problem, I shouldn't hear anything"... yeah, right. True, as long as no one plays the machines at the end of the row, near the room door, and I learned that truth around 2AM. As for the free "continental breakfast", served in the "restaurant" on the 2nd floor... I've had institutional cafeteria food that was better. No breakfast meats available... no bacon or sausage to go with the sad excuse for scrambled eggs offering. Unlike most other Hotel/Motel chains, no waffle maker, just rubber pancakes made and dispensed by a machine of some sort. The room (2 queen beds, non-smoking) was vastly overpriced for the underwhelming "experience". And speaking of non-smoking, only the room was, the rest of the property is smoking, which added to the already sad restaurant experience, as it is an open loft arrangement on the 2nd floor overlooking the gaming area.... smoke rises, cough. read more

Ugh this hotel. First of all, you should know there are two buildings to this hotel. One is connected to the casino, pool, restaurant,etc. The other is across the freaking street. Which is where we ended up. The whole reason we stayed there was for the indoor pool and free breakfast. There. In the hotel. NOT across the street. And it was snowing! I didn't feel like running across the Main Street in my swimsuit in the snow with my child. Anyways breakfast was pretty bad. My kid or husband wouldn't even eat the donuts and they eat anything sugar. Everything just seemed bland and off. Maybe old? Maybe I was still mad, because I was across the street!!! Really sub-par hotel. First you have to go into the casino to check into the hotel, so be prepared to come out smelling like an ashtray. Like many others who've commented here I reserved a non-smoking room, but was told when I arrived that I'd reserved a smoking room. The woman checking me in did me a "favor" and changed me to a non-smoking room in the annex across the street. Got over there and had a very difficult time getting the door open. We finally got in then quickly discovered we couldn't get out once the door was closed! We had to call to the front desk (which took me several tries as no one was answering) to get someone to come and get us out. They were able to slam the door open from the outside. Moved us to a new room next door. The room itself was ok and didn't smell of smoke as others have mentioned. My two stars is generous and only given because they acted quickly to get us out of the broken door room and into another one. Won't be staying here my next trip through Nevada. read more

We came in late at night and the lady at the front desk was so freaking nice she quickly gave us a room showed it to us and left the bedding the comforters the sheets the pillows were so comfortable so soft like pillows everything felt great the room was nice and big and had everything you can ask for water bottles snacks coffee lotion shampoo soap towels I didn't have to need for anything in the morning when I got up and talk to the front desk about how good the room was they gave us more stuff for hygiene I was all around the best room I've ever had!!
