Heaters malfunction and melt the plastic. This will catch fire at some point.

Terrible hotel. There's issues getting hot water for showers. Seriously?! This hotel isn't even that old. Staff say customers have complained about this for years and management does nothing. On top of that, the heater units are failing and in my room it gets hot but isn't blowing the hot air, so it melted the unit. THIS IS A FIRE AND SAFETY HAZARD! It created a strong amount of fumes. Had to get my wife and child out while I gathered our things so they wouldn't breathe any more of it. Clearly management and maintenance are not doing anything about these issues. BE CAREFUL

I've gotten so lucky with Holiday Inn's across the country, and I've stayed in so many (Platinum Elite status). I rarely leave reviews for them because in the end, they're just all the same. However, this location in this lil town blew them all out of the water! I know, how unexpected! Here are some highlights about this particular location: NON-SMOKING: I rarely travel to Nevada because I have no interest in smoke-filled casinos and bars. My nose and lungs totally appreciate this hotel's "no smoking" policy. CHEAP BUT GOOD: For two nights, book two days before arrival, we only paid about $360.00. The building seems pretty new. The entire room was huge and spotless. Comfy bed, great water pressure from the shower and amazing offering for breakfast. BREAKFAST: Phenomenal spread. You get it all. Bagels, toast, pancakes, cereal, juices, sweet treats, hot food including eggs, omelets, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy along with all the condiments you may need. And it's damn tasty. This is your best option for a clean, quiet and comfortable stay in Ely.

Being a Holiday Inn IHG Platinum member I get early check in if available and a free room upgrade. This hotel is one of the better Holiday Inn's I've stayed at, and I've stayed at a lot! The hotel is nice and well maintained and the staff is friendly. The prices thought, I guess out here in Ely, prices are just high due to location. Room was about $170 a night. Here for a couple of night is all, and it's all expensed out, so no biggie. The room was nice and everything worked fine and I didn't find any hairs another color than mine. WiFi was fine too. Free breakfast is included. It's pretty much the same as all the rest of the Holiday Inns with all the same selections. I do love those cinnamon rolls! The coffee is out 24/7 so that's a good thing. This was probably the best choice out here in Ely to stay.

This hotel seems to be very new and is probably one of the best places to stay in Ely. I found everything to be very well maintained and especially clean. The breakfast is included and I also thought it was much better than what is typically offered at other places.

Beautiful hotel in Ely, NV. I am a Holiday Inn Express fan. I think they are the cleanest, nicest, most affordable hotels you can find in their respective price range. And this location is no exception. This is a new, very nice hotel in Ely, NV. If we stop on our trips to/from Idaho/California Ely is the closest thing to "halfway" so it's nice that there is a Holiday Inn Express here now. They are pet friendly at this location which is a HUGE plus! There is a $10 additional fee per pet, but it's well worth it. The rooms are large, and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel, as I said, is new so all of the features are updated. Our room had a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in it as well. They have their standard Holiday Inn Express Breakfast which is the best hotel breakfast in my opinion, and it's included in the price of the room. This location also has an indoor pool and fitness center. We didn't use either, but they looked nice. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The only note I have, is there was some kind of sensor (smoke detector, CO2?) directly over our bed which blinked ALL night, and BRIGHTLY! It kept my wife and I both awake. I eventually had to cover it up so we could get some sleep.

Warm oatmeal and pancakes for breakfast! Plus coffee.

Holiday inn Ely This was the cleanest hotel we visited on our entire trip! There was no dust anywhere! We all were very impressed how everything was clean. The breakfast was not a takeout bag, for a change, but they had two ladies who served people whatever they wanted (hot and cold choices). People stayed 6-feet apart. I was able to bring the food up to the room for my kids which was great as I didn't want them among others during Covid. There was coffee downstairs but also in the room. The hotel has a hot tub and a pool which were also very clean. Everyone had masks. View from our room was great. Highly recommended!

Small town. Called to work at William Bee Ririe Hospital; a 44 bed hospital! Cool little spot, however being an avid Hilton and Marriott guest, Holliday Inn Express was my only choice. $184 a night during the week which is a little too absurd for this property. Rooms were "semi" clean, but the toilet had several urination stains on it not once, but twice when I stayed at this property (was here back to back weeks); housekeeping does not throughly clean the bathroom, can't expect it at this type of property. Three stars because these properties allow pets of all sorts and the dander/pet hair from previous guests still linger, not cool if you have allergies. Cool view though, especially the junk yard out back that has some interesting messages, lol. First trip here I flew in and out of Vegas (3 hour drive each way). Second trip flew into Vegas and out of Salt Lake City (3 hour drive to SL), which I would highly recommend the latter; beautiful drive.

I love the view even though its a garage yard. The snow on the back hills with a light snow are beautiful..

We were free to walk around anywhere (with the assistance of a nice lady working there at the time) including the main floor, the hand-painted Curtin, the balcony (including the media room), backstage, and all the performer signatures down the stairs and out. I'd love to come back when the place is happily full, and watching a great performance.

My initial and only reason for heading inside this unique Opera House was to have my Loneliest Road "Survival Guide" booklet stamped identifying that I had passed through Eureka navigating along the 400 mile trek through Nevada. What I didn't realize.....upon having my survival guide stamped....the owner of this Opera House....a genuinely nice and friendly woman offered me a free tour throughout the grounds of this place. Wow....what an added bonus. I mean....I gave no thought into any of the incredible history and legacies that had been bestowed upon this site. I figured it was a small time joint. Yeah, literally it is.....but the amount of musical groups and performances that have played and passed through here was awakening. Eureka Opera House is quite famous in and of itself. The lady here was so generous and courteous with her time....showing me around and giving me a true history lesson about this locale. And incredible.....overall, the town of Eureka is so small and located sort of in the middle of nowhere....it's impossible to think how this Opera House could ever book any musical acts. But they have. The owner deserves recognition for keeping the lights burning brightly and maintaining the integrity of this landmark. Yeah...she gave me a private, free tour.....I walked up on stage and ventured behind the scenes. In the back, musical groups had signed their names all over the walls (think how the celebs do it on the James Corden Show). There are pictures and frames hung from all the famous bands, performers and guests that have played. This was a real treat to wander around and explore. Before leaving, there was a small donation box near the door and of course I was happy to put a few dollars in to help support this venue. Overall, this is not your typical "opera house". It's really an entertainment performance house for not just small up and coming acts, but from time to time legendary musicians and groups as well. And to be situated so secluded here in Eureka.....(if anyone's ever been to Eureka) this Opera House was a great roadside stop for anyone navigating along the Loneliest Road In America.

Upon check-in, we were given 2 drink tickets good for 2 Well Drinks from the Prospector Lounge. The room was nice, nicer than I thought it was going to be! It was nice that there was a safe in the room as well as a microwave and a larger mini-fridge. In the room, we were given some candy and earplugs. We didn't need the earplugs. We didn't hear anything going on in the hallway during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well! We stayed here for two nights. If you desire to have some wine in your room, there are two bottle of Wolfgang Puck Wines for purchase. There's an on-site restaurant called Margaritas. It seemed like a cozy place to eat. We saw the steak and decided to give it a try, but we should have opted for a Mexican entrée instead. Maybe it would have been better. The Gambling Hall is the casino. It isn't in a room with a divider or barrier so the smoke is pretty prevalent. I truly felt like I was transported back to before the 1980's when smoking was allowed everywhere! I think smoking is not allowed in the Guest Rooms. I would not hesitate to book another room here again.

I`ve been traveling to Ely on and off for the last 20 years and have stayed here and there around town, but decided to try to save a few bucks and stay at Rustin Inn last time. I thought perhaps this was a diamond in the rough. Maybe I have high standards when it comes to a place being "clean". I don`t know. Let's just do a pros and cons list to make this easy. Pros: -Cheap. I paid $55 for a night -Location was on the main road, so it felt relatively safe -Hot shower -Nice owner -Parking right outside your room Cons: -When I arrived, no one was in the office, which is totally fine, but there was a note on the door that had guest names and the rooms they were staying in(directing them to the room number). I don`t love a note with the room I`m staying in to be available for anyone to view -There is a difference between rustic and dingy. I had room 14 and it was okay, definitely had seen better days. My issue was with the cleanliness. The sheets were formerly white but now were a tan color from wear. The pillows were flat and the actual pillows had stains on them. Pillow covers were the same worn color of the sheets. I slept in my hoodie because I didn`t want to lay on the pillows. Random hair(not mine) in the shower and a less than pristine toilet. I know, I know. This is a cheap motel. The front office looks so cute with the lights and homey feel. The motel has a lot of potential, but it needs repair, updated items, and a deep clean. I`ll pass on this place in the future. For $20 you can stay elsewhere that will be cleaner and more comfortable.

It had a king in one room, a queen in the other, and a full pull-out couch in the common area. There was also a kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, sink, counter and cupboard space). The bathroom was roomy and had a spa tub with jets. We were in the "executive rooms" building across the parking lot from the main building (literally only a 30 foot walk). It is two story and did not have elevators. The couch bed, when folded out, partially blocked one bedroom door and made passing to the other side of it impossible without crawling over the bed, which was unfortunate. It was also a really low-quality, lumpy, springy mattress. But at least we had bed space for everyone. There is only one a/c unit (in the common area) , so to cool the bedrooms you have to keep the doors open. The jetted tub was a really nice surprise. The one jet behind the back was pretty weak, unfortunately, but the other four were good and strong and felt great. Breakfast was good: waffles, biscuits and gravy, cheese omelettes, a variety of cereal, toast, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt. The juice was really good: real, fresh orange juice instead of the usual watery stuff, and POG juice! There was also a great selection of 8 different teas, all good brands (no Lipton!) which I really enjoyed. The kids loved the pool, which is heated, and the hot tub. It is a chlorine pool. If you have to stay in Ely, this is the place to do it.

I have been traveling to Ely on and off for about 20 years, so I`ve stayed at a lot of the hotels around town, but decided to gamble on a motel in town for the first time. The price was right and who doesn't want to save a buck sometimes? I want to come back when this place is in better shape because there is a lot of potential, but yes, it does need work. Let's do two lists for my stay. Pros: Good location Quiet at night(other guests respected an unspoken quiet time after 9 p.m.) Internet is pretty good Streaming services are welcome Exterior is cute Owner Ian is communicative and friendly Best price in town during their revamp Hot water Felt relatively safe as a solo female traveler There was a friendly orange cat who hung out with me for a bit Cons(This is for room 5): The walls are a mess and need repair(holes everywhere) Carpet gave me the ick Lack of outlets Bathroom is in need of...a lot(including better cleaning) Shower handles fell off when I would turn (lol) Curtain rod fell down when I closed the curtain (lol again...) Need more of a lock on the door (keypad and chain lock is OK) Towards the back of the room there is a noticeable dip in the floor I really want to come back and stay in a refurbished room sometime. Some recommendations to the owner( that they didn`t ask for): Gut the carpets and replace with floors, add better top door locks, designate a smoking area so guests who smoke can go there(I am not a smoker and there was a guy who was constantly smoking outside of my room), add short curtains to cover any light that comes through the blinds, hair dryers(even small, cheap ones) would be good. Look, I get it, this is an old motel with decades of repair and grime that is being cleaned up. This is a place that is totally fine for others as is and it was a good price. I can see the direction the owners are going in and the retro vibe they want to achieve, but try to stay in a refurbished room if you are picky about what I have mentioned.
