Room was super small. Super old building. Bathroom is also small. Only Cable. No streaming. Room cost me $70-$80 for 1 night. I feel it should be $40 a night. It did include $5 off at Dennys and a free drink at the bar but I would have traded those for a more accommodating room. I wouldn't come here again unless in a pinch.

If you like a little bit funky this is the place. Bed was good and bath and linens fine. Clean and doable. It's a very old hotel so think back. Hit was driving in after dark. Felt like arriving at Las Vegas in the 50's. Smoky casino. Long bar. Great parking and super place to get to after all that highway 50. Beautiful murals on the building and all around town.

Very nice rooms. Slots tight. The breakfast included is really a $5 off coupon. Plenty of spacious free parking. This place has the only all night bar.

My friend recommended this as motorcycle travel friendly. The prices are very good, the parking lot is huge, the gambling hall is clean. T I had a queen room. It would be a tight space for two, but was perfect for me. Plenty of are to hang gear and layout my bags. The rooms are fully updated and modernized. Plenty of sockets for recharging. The shower was retiled, but still old plumbing. They offer a breakfast at Denny's gratis and a free drink at the bar (limited choices.) It's a great place to stopover, walk around, and get a casino/museum/old hotel experience

4 stars Hotel Nevada is one of Ely's most prominent feature in the down town area. With 6 floors and various lighting features and murals on the exterior , you can see the changes in advertising through the decades. Parking runs along the sides of the building and a lot directly behind it, but be forewarned that the spots are not symmetrical and at an angle that makes it difficult to park larger vehicles. Entering the hotel you find yourself surrounded by slot machines and remnants of Ely's past. Unfortunately smoking is permitted within casino floors and the residue has sunk into every surface. The front desk is near the front entrance of the building, and the employees there were very helpful in getting us our room keys, Wi-Fi password, and a voucher for a free drink at the hotel bar. I headed up to room 501 in the elevator, which moved quickly but you definitely had to push the "Close Door" button. My room was small, as expected from a hotel that's almost 100 years old, but very clean. Instead of attempting to cram a dresser into the small space, a small wall mounted shelving unit included spots to set clothes, along with a Keurig coffee maker, a bottle of water, mints, and hotel information sheet. I appreciated that the alarm clock had 4 USB ports and 2 outlets, along with a lamp that has a push button. The bathroom was small but complete. If you're claustrophobic, the shower may give you issues. My biggest issue with the small room was the proximity of the a.c. to the bed. I would begin to doze off, but the a.c. would kick on with a loud shudder throughout the night. I ended up not using my drink voucher, so when I turned in my room key the next morning, they commented that I could get 2 bottles of water, and also got me a coupon for the in hotel Denny's. It was a nice stop on a quick work trip.

This historic hotel has been restored nicely. My wife and I booked a king suite online, which ended up being the Ingrid Bergman room on the top (6th) floor. It was uniquely decorated with photos and posters from her career. [There are several themed rooms on that floor with names of old time famous people--didn't get to see the interiors; but it's a fun concept. Not sure whether those people actually stayed in the rooms; but they could have.] Our bed was very comfortable, the employees were friendly, and we very much enjoyed our stay! Bonuses include a free drink at the bar (we got sodas) and a free breakfast at the Denny's that is on-site.

Hotel Nevada and Gambling Hall in Ely was a pleasant little gem in the old part of town. We chose this location because we are traveling with our two pups. After doing a search on the BRINGFIDO App, we ended up picking this location. They are pet friendly and allow 2 dogs for a small fee of $15 total. The only issue pertaining to the dogs is that even though there are several open areas and parks within walking distance, there are no fenced in areas where you can just let your pups wander about freely. However, all of the staff we dealt with were dog friendly! They wanted to give them treats whenever we walked by the check-in counter! The interior of the hotel contains so many unique displays of antique items, historical photos and animal mounts such as elk, deer and ram. They definitely put their own touch in decorating! When you enter, unfortunately, you're greeted by the obnoxious odor of cigarette smoke. If you are non-smokers, like us, this is definitely a negative! Good new though, smoking is not permitted in the rooms, so, once you get to your room, you escape the smoke. (Except the remnants of it on your hair and clothes.) The rooms are smaller than modern hotel rooms, but it was plenty for us. They've kept it pretty original. Wish I had gotten a pic before we made ourselves at home. The four-post bed was a little squeaky but the mattress was comfortable. You get a choice of real flat pillows or real fluffy pillows. It was surprisingly quiet and even though our room looked out onto the main street, we really did not hear any street noise. Nor did we hear any of our neighbors next to or above us. Complimentary items in the room were numerous!(coffee, bottled water, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, facial wipes) Although it is very obvious that it is a really old hotel. It's really run down, but it was clean and smelled fresh. It would be a lot of fun to refurbish the rooms one at a time but still keeping the historical feel. With our booking, we received two free drink tickets for a beer or margarita. We also got two free breakfast vouchers (Original Grand Slam and coffee) for Denny's, which is located inside of the hotel. The Denny's is no longer open 24 hours though. The wait staff advised that it was due to the changes they made during COVID. Could eventually get back to normal when people decide they want to work again! We would stay here again. Lots of friendly people! Lots of character! And the price was reasonable. ($95.34 a night plus the $15 for our pups)

I was only going to be in town for one night so for the price this seemed like a reasonable option. I booked ahead of time online using a card to hold the room with the expectation that the card presented at check in would be the card used to pay for the room per the website. Checking in was not a problem until it was. Clerk was very friendly and even recommended a couple restaurants if we did not want to eat at Denny's, the only restaurant in the hotel. Upon check in I was also given two bar drink tickets and two breakfast vouchers at of course Denny's. This hotel was built in 1929 so certain things are to be expected, smoky casino smell, small elevator, small room and bathroom. I don't think that is an excuse for neglecting basic upgrades. My friend and I didn't even want to take our shoes off in the room due to the carpet being unclean. That bathroom was so old it just looks dirty. And there are two signs in the room warning that the water temperature is erratic. Because of that they should really drop the rate by about $20 a night. It's definitely more motel than hotel. Even though the clerk who checked me in was friendly she screwed up the check in and billing process completely. I was given a receipt that showed the credit card presented at check in with a zero balance but that was not the card that was run. Upon discovering their screw up I called to have it fixed, which they did with no apology, no acknowledgement that they screwed up and no need for me to give them the correct card because they already had it on file. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not. There are other options in town and I imagine they can't be any worse.

On our road trip to Northern Idaho, we searched for a historic place to stay and came across Hotel Nevada. The online photos and location looked intriguing and adventurous. Not disappointed at all! Built in 1929. Exterior is. Not sexy like Las Vegas- this is a small copper mining town but I loved the vintage neon miner on the building. Lobby and small gaming area are decorated with antlers and mounted deer heads. The front desk staff was happy and pleasant. The crowd in the gaming area also has a fun vibe. Our room was a pleasant surprise. Seemed to be freshly renovated, clean, crisp sheets, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig, coffee and a large TV. Our stay included a free cocktail or beer from the fully stocked bar and breakfast for each guest at the adjoining Denny's. We will stay here again if passing through in the future. Oh yes, quite a bargain rate for what you get.

Upon check-in, we were given 2 drink tickets good for 2 Well Drinks from the Prospector Lounge. The room was nice, nicer than I thought it was going to be! It was nice that there was a safe in the room as well as a microwave and a larger mini-fridge. In the room, we were given some candy and earplugs. We didn't need the earplugs. We didn't hear anything going on in the hallway during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well! We stayed here for two nights. If you desire to have some wine in your room, there are two bottle of Wolfgang Puck Wines for purchase. There's an on-site restaurant called Margaritas. It seemed like a cozy place to eat. We saw the steak and decided to give it a try, but we should have opted for a Mexican entrée instead. Maybe it would have been better. The Gambling Hall is the casino. It isn't in a room with a divider or barrier so the smoke is pretty prevalent. I truly felt like I was transported back to before the 1980's when smoking was allowed everywhere! I think smoking is not allowed in the Guest Rooms. I would not hesitate to book another room here again.

It had a king in one room, a queen in the other, and a full pull-out couch in the common area. There was also a kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, sink, counter and cupboard space). The bathroom was roomy and had a spa tub with jets. We were in the "executive rooms" building across the parking lot from the main building (literally only a 30 foot walk). It is two story and did not have elevators. The couch bed, when folded out, partially blocked one bedroom door and made passing to the other side of it impossible without crawling over the bed, which was unfortunate. It was also a really low-quality, lumpy, springy mattress. But at least we had bed space for everyone. There is only one a/c unit (in the common area) , so to cool the bedrooms you have to keep the doors open. The jetted tub was a really nice surprise. The one jet behind the back was pretty weak, unfortunately, but the other four were good and strong and felt great. Breakfast was good: waffles, biscuits and gravy, cheese omelettes, a variety of cereal, toast, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt. The juice was really good: real, fresh orange juice instead of the usual watery stuff, and POG juice! There was also a great selection of 8 different teas, all good brands (no Lipton!) which I really enjoyed. The kids loved the pool, which is heated, and the hot tub. It is a chlorine pool. I`ve been traveling to Ely on and off for the last 20 years and have stayed here and there around town, but decided to try to save a few bucks and stay at Rustin Inn last time. I thought perhaps this was a diamond in the rough. Maybe I have high standards when it comes to a place being "clean". I don`t know. Let's just do a pros and cons list to make this easy. Pros: -Cheap. I paid $55 for a night -Location was on the main road, so it felt relatively safe -Hot shower -Nice owner -Parking right outside your room Cons: -When I arrived, no one was in the office, which is totally fine, but there was a note on the door that had guest names and the rooms they were staying in(directing them to the room number). I don`t love a note with the room I`m staying in to be available for anyone to view -There is a difference between rustic and dingy. I had room 14 and it was okay, definitely had seen better days. My issue was with the cleanliness. The sheets were formerly white but now were a tan color from wear. The pillows were flat and the actual pillows had stains on them. Pillow covers were the same worn color of the sheets. I slept in my hoodie because I didn`t want to lay on the pillows. Random hair(not mine) in the shower and a less than pristine toilet. I know, I know. This is a cheap motel. The front office looks so cute with the lights and homey feel. The motel has a lot of potential, but it needs repair, updated items, and a deep clean. I`ll pass on this place in the future. For $20 you can stay elsewhere that will be cleaner and more comfortable.

The price was right and who doesn't want to save a buck sometimes? I want to come back when this place is in better shape because there is a lot of potential, but yes, it does need work. Let's do two lists for my stay. Pros: Good location Quiet at night(other guests respected an unspoken quiet time after 9 p.m.) Internet is pretty good Streaming services are welcome Exterior is cute Owner Ian is communicative and friendly Best price in town during their revamp Hot water Felt relatively safe as a solo female traveler There was a friendly orange cat who hung out with me for a bit Cons(This is for room 5): The walls are a mess and need repair(holes everywhere) Carpet gave me the ick Lack of outlets Bathroom is in need of...a lot(including better cleaning) Shower handles fell off when I would turn (lol) Curtain rod fell down when I closed the curtain (lol again...) Need more of a lock on the door (keypad and chain lock is OK) Towards the back of the room there is a noticeable dip in the floor I really want to come back and stay in a refurbished room sometime. Some recommendations to the owner( that they didn`t ask for): Gut the carpets and replace with floors, add better top door locks, designate a smoking area so guests who smoke can go there(I am not a smoker and there was a guy who was constantly smoking outside of my room), add short curtains to cover any light that comes through the blinds, hair dryers(even small, cheap ones) would be good. Look, I get it, this is an old motel with decades of repair and grime that is being cleaned up. This is a place that is totally fine for others as is and it was a good price. I can see the direction the owners are going in and the retro vibe they want to achieve, but try to stay in a refurbished room if you are picky about what I have mentioned.

It's a tad run down and has its blemishes, but the room itself is clean and cheap enough for the amenities. Fridge, micro, clean bed, blazing fast WiFi. Easy in/out. Did I Mention clean? Ely is kind of a town that time forgot and I was a little nervous and dismayed when I pulled into this place off the main drag. The outside facade leaves a lot to be desired, but this place is the pillar of the old adage "don't judge a book by its cover"! Though, some of the other guests staying at the hotel were a bit suspect. After a weird interaction w/the front desk clerk (who I could not get to understand that I had already paid for my room through my Orbitz reservation) where I had to call my credit card company to tell her the charge for the room had already been made and who seemed a bit out of it, I finally made it up to my room. Thankfully, I was on the 2nd flr and had no one staying on either side of me, so I had a very quiet experience. Also, parking seemed limited, but there did not appear to be a lot of other guests there when I was, so I never had a problem finding a space, especially right in front of my room. To my very pleasant surprise, the room was spacious, well appointed, clean, had great water pressure in the shower, a big tv, micro and fridge...and the best part (I rarely say this about a hotel) was the bed! It was sooooo comfy, like pillow top mattress comfy and the pillows were plump and plentiful! I was only there for two nights and considering I was sleep deprived due to late night stargazing and the 2hr roundtrip trek to Great Basin NP, it was a welcome relief to come "home" to a warm, clean room, comfy bed, a Law & Order marathon, and a strong wifi connection!
