I tried this place last week and I really like my CA burrito of $13...Today I went back for my second burrito, it still good. However, my dissatisfaction is their scam charging my credit card. The burrito was 13.95, I gave my card for them to charge. Got my card back, left, and forgot to get my receipt copy. However, later when I checked my bank account, it showed that I actually got charged 14.37. This is really bad for business. Everyone, please be more aware, check your receipt and make sure they charged you correctly so you won't get cheated. As for this business, you just lost a client. Although your business cheated $1 extra mean nothing much to me, i hate place doing dishonest business. I don't care how good your burrito is, there is so many other Mexican place to enjoy. Went here because the star rating was high, and the food was completely mid. Frier oil was oil, food was bland, and hot sauce looked like ketchup. Service was good. I wouldn't say there was ambiance l. It's a hole in the wall, and the food was average to not great. Probably won't be returning. read more

I usually would go to the taco shop next door, but decided to try this place after my brother highly recommended. I ordered carne asada fries, carne asada chips and a carne asada burrito over the phone. The man who took my order was friendly. On my way there I called to add another burrito, no problem by the time I arrived everything was ready. The place is small but clean. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Two gentlemen were working and both greeted me and my son. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. The food was delicious, my entire family enjoyed it. This place has recently become my favorite burrito spot in east county! I should be 5 stars but I am bummed to recently find out there is a $.80 charge If you want more then one hot sauce!!! there red sauce is awesome btw!! They do give out larger sauce cups but I honestly could use 2-3 and I'm not paying $1.60 more just for hot sauce. I usually use 6-7 standard little hot sauces. I had to pull out tapatío to finish my burrito which is a horrible last bite :/ I would rather see the burritos go up $.50-60 and limit the sauces to atleast 2 per burrito! I grew up in Casa De Oro going to the taco shop right next door to La Posta. But after a few bad experiences next door I decided to give La Posta a try and I'm glad I did. The cashier is a douche bag. I had to call 2 times since they didn't answer the first time. When he answered, he was giving me this nonchalant attitude. I asked for 2 California burritos, I made a mistake with one of them and he gave me an attitude when I asked to correct it. I go to pick them up and I was confused if I was at the right place because the name doesn't match Apple Maps. I go in there and ask if this is Acapulco and he was like "I don't know why you're talking about, this is La Posta". Then I show him on the map and he still gave me a nonchalant attitude and wasn't helpful. I then said I ordered 2 California burritos and he said yeah I got two California burritos right here. I was kind of fed up because he just wasn't helpful at all. He rung me up and didn't even say thank you. I got home and we ate the burritos. It cost the same as Sarita's next door yet it worse than sarita's. The burritos are too small and they just taste mediocre. I only wanted to try this place cause of the 4.5 star rating. It doesn't match up clearly. You'll get more bang for your buck next door. read more

I tried the rolled tacos and carne asada burro here earlier this year and they were both pretty good. I went with my family a few nights ago, and the food was disgusting! Fat, seasoned fries were used for carne asada fries (GROSS), and the guacamole was some fake, pre-packaged crap. The rolled tacos weren't cooked long enough and were soft and cold mid-way through. We were all so disappointed. The plan was to go to Sarita's a couple of doors down, but the line was out the door so rather than wait, we decided to just go with La Posta. Big mistake!!! The fact that they had no customers should have been a huge hint for us. Took a while for our order, and no customers ever came through the door. So disappointed. What a waste of money (nearly $60)! I will give it one last try in hopes that it was just an off day. I gave 1 star only because the food was good a year ago. read more

They have the best Mexican food around. I wish the places in Spring Valley with a drive thru had better food. The pandemic prep isn't the best though. The main chef forever has his nose uncovered. It drives me nuts. I've made a few comments and they've fallen on deaf ears. We still come here about once a week but I've decided to only tip when the chef has his nose covered. I have not been here in many years so I decided to stop by for dinner on my way home from no where in particular. when I approached, the drunken stupors flashed before my eyes, and as I entered the place; after a few internal giggles, I decided to order the heart burn burrito, "el chorizo burrito." Dang, I haven't had a good CA burrito in awhile!! After moving up to North County, it's like a treasure hunt to find the best taco shop with the best CA burrito. Today, on this rainy day and celebrating 4 more days of the semester at Cuyamaca College, I wanted a burrito. Yes, I did find it on Yelp! But I never tried Sarita's so this is solely reviewing what I ate today. These two shops are literally next door to each other, crazy! First, the workers were friendly. Second, the burrito had everything it needs for a good CA burrito-- guacamole, sour cream, cheese, crunchy fries, and yummy carne. They give you a larger than (taco shop) life hot sauce container and I needed one and a quarter for my burrito! The red sauce wasn't hot though.. This shop places high on my list, but I've had better red sauce. Unfortunately they didn't have green sauce available today. I'm glad I walked in today. I'm full now. Oh my have things changed. Still same guys working there and always friendly and polite (which is rare for a taco shop) Food is still great, but that were ends.. First off, the prices have SOARED, I get it wages went up and cost of meat. But I ordered 2 breakfast burritos and they were little shy of $8 each! That's crazy.. Not to mention the burritos I got were not as I remember from the past. La Posta had great big solid breakfast burritos. I got these tiny breakfast rolled tacos instead of a breakfast burrito. Okay so if you didn't know, there's an ongoing debate as to the best Mexican in Spring Valley.. La Posta or Sarita's are two popular contenders and with them being literally two doors down from each other, it's all out war tearing apart families, lol.. Well my two cents is for La Posta the hot sauce is better lighter, you can use more of it but of course Sarita's has bigger portions and some prefer the taste as well. We ordered a few burritos and some fries. The burritos were okay, however the fries were not. The oil that was used to fry them had to be at least 5 months old. I could tell because the fries had a bitter taste to them. If you plan on stopping by here for food, I would advise against ordering anything fried such as French fries or rolled tacos. They don't seem to care about replacing the oil. read more
