The food was delicious the Pepino water was refreshing, the only thing I would ask if they could make the beans and little more not so dry.

The food, service, and ambiance, all on point! Delicious margaritas, good happy hour deals.

100% recommend this place. It's Mexican food, on another level. We sat on the patio and watched the trains go by. Talk about vibes! This place had excellent customer service. Everyone was incredibly nice from the start. All the food was delicious. Definitely try the churros! They come with chocolate and caramel dipping sauce. We also had the salsa tray (great to share with the table) and the ribeye tacos. They also have a massive tequila and mezcal menu. Their watermelon hibiscus margarita was great. Hannah was our server and she really made the experience top level. The vibes here are fun. This is the perfect place for a date night or a fun lunch out with friends or family. Or take the train and let it be your designated driver and try all the tequila and mezcal flights! It's family friendly too. Even my kid said that we were definitely coming back here again. read more

We had such a great experience here! The food was delicious, everything came out fresh, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The highlight of our visit was definitely our server, Lexi. She was SO friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. She had such a positive attitude and really made our dining experience even better. It's always nice to be served by someone who genuinely cares about their customers. We'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this restaurant! The Mahi Tacos and Shrimp tacos...10/10! read more

Why fid i have high hopes on good food here I have bern yo the one on claremont and I liked it but redlands location dissapointed me. Lets start with no good choices of coffee for breakfast! Chilaquiles were too basic, my sons plate had a small hair and the waiter just said OK when we mentioned it. Beans on my husbands plate tasted bitter like they were going to go bad. The decor and aestetic is there but not worth my money! read more

I've been here twice and both times were equally satisfying. Best chips and salsa! I'm writing this review weeks after I've gone so I can't remember the name of what I ordered... but I can tell you that it was tacos and another time it was the ahi appetizer. Both were delicious. The waitstaff are all so friendly and communicative. I love the modern, clean ambience as well. Classic spot for some good mexican food. I don't recommend the coffee, though. It was watered down. read more

La Popular, a new swanky dining experience downtown Redlands, offers a delightful dining experience. We enjoyed margaritas, salsa flight, and ceviche at the bar during its soft opening. The food was delicious, the service excellent, and we'll definitely return. If you love ceviche, this is the best place in town, with authentic recipes from south of the border. Our bartender, James, made excellent drinks and was a pleasure to speak with. Highly recommended for those seeking a Mexican restaurant. read more

We got the Salsa Flight, Ribeye Tacos, Street Corn Tacos, Mole Enchilada, and the Churros and Butter Cake for dessert. Everything was amazing and the flavor in the salsas was intriguing. read more

Loved everything about this place. The greeter was great and friendly. We sat at a table next to the bar. The ambiance was wonderful. Our server was excellent. Explained menus. We did Taco Tuesday. Which was a great option, as well as scratch guacamole. I had grilled Mahi taco and a chicken taco. The high spot of my visit?!? The bartender named Kimberly!!! She is fabulous!! Explained the bar menu, and featured drinks. They have a fabulous selection of Tequila along with many other options. She made a special drink for me and it was perfect! I highly recommend La Popular Sit next to the bar if you can and ask for beautiful Kimberly! She will treat you well! read more

I stopped by this place to try it out for the first time a couple of weeks ago with my 1 year old. We tried the mole enchiladas and she had the rice and beans off my plate. She really enjoyed watching the train go by every once in a while. I then went with my husband about a week after for Taco Tuesday. Their beef taco was delicious as well as the quesabirria plate. We also had the opportunity to try their house taco made of octopus which was done really well. Again my daughter loved watching the train go by and saying hi to everyone who passed by our table. The reason for only 3 stars out of 5 is because we had mentioned to our server that my daughter would just be sharing the rice and beans side dish with me. As the beans and rice came out first I proceeded to give her some thinking they were the same as the mole plate I had previously. I was VERY Wrong..my daughter started to yell which led me to look further into the food and noticed SERRANO peppers mixed in. I wish the server had mentioned this to me or that their menu states that it is spicy. I understand it's a new restaurant but that's what made me rate it less and then when I mentioned it to the manager they still proceeded to charge me for it. I really wanted to like this place but that's part of the service just did not sit well with me. read more

Great ambiance and supporting members. Food was delicious and drinks were amazing but unfortunately our waiter Elmer was pushy, anxious, aggressive and did not follow simple instructions leading to a nightmare close out when it came to paying the bill. Would definitely return as long as we have a different waiter. read more

We came for the 9pm-11pm happy hour mid week! I felt like the value was great for what we got (an app, 2 tacos each, a marg, and churros for dessert). The food was pretty good and the service was kind! The only thing to note is that it was REALLY loud inside. They had the music turned up to the point where I could barely hear my partner talking across the table. I wouldn't recommend coming here with a large group or anyone harder of hearing because of that: conversations would be stifled by the music. It might've just been because we came at nine pm, so I don't want to speak to what the volume is like all day, but if you're coming for late night happy hour, prepare for it to be quite loud. read more

I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but I also think it's important to share an honest experience. We came here on a Wednesday to celebrate a birthday, expecting it to be a slower evening. Our server was kind and did her best, although it seemed like she was very new. This review is not about her, it was clear she was trying. Things started off well with our drinks, but once the food was ordered, everything went downhill. We waited about an hour and a half for our meals, and when they finally arrived, it seemed like they had been sitting out. Most of the food was cold, several sides were missing, and a few people received the wrong meals. We understood that we were a larger party, so we tried to be patient and accommodating throughout the night. What disappointed me most was the lack of management. Even bussers and other servers encouraged us to speak with a manager because they recognized things weren't going well. We weren't planning to complain, and honestly expected a manager to check on a large party that had clearly experienced multiple issues. After spending nearly three hours there, I finally got up to find the manager myself. She apologized and mentioned they were busier than expected and said she would help with our check, but there wasn't much follow-up. When I mentioned to our server that I had spoken with the manager, she immediately broke down in tears. That was honestly the hardest part of the evening. I felt terrible because my frustration was never directed at her. It highlighted that she wasn't getting the support she needed. A good manager recognizes when a new server is overwhelmed (especially with a large party) and steps in before the situation escalates. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback because the staff deserves better support, and guests deserve a smoother dining experience. For now, I'd probably recommend stopping by for drinks rather than dinner, or waiting a few months to give the restaurant time to work through these issues. I truly hope things improve because the restaurant has potential. read more

Omg! Food, service, ambience, EVERYTHINGGGG was so good! We can't stop thinking about the food we got. We will be back soon!

This was my Moms choice for her birthday and while I thought it looked good, my expectations were exceeded and more. We came early for our reservation, which was no issue and we were seated immediately. Then our server came and made it all wonderful. She was truly so nice. Everyone who came to our table to so much as drop off a food dish was exceptionally friendly. Really we haven't had service this good in awhile. Anyways the food was incredible, the drinks were amazing, and the service was out of this world. Can't say enough good things. read more

First time as Don Orange was closed til 5 PM, so we ventured out and found the this restaurant. There were four of us for lunch, we ordered 2 ice teas as it was a hot day. Tea had little ice I asked for sugar and that took awhile to get by that time no ice. But I can say the server brought me a new tea. 3 of us enjoyed our lunch but my son said the chicken in the mole was very dry. Why didn't you say something and he said it would take another 40 minutes to get a new order. The waiting is longer than most restaurants. My tacos were good except very little meat in the rib eye taco. My son and his wife ordered two margaritas no salt and they get the drinks loaded with salt on the side of the glass which can be messy. It was a yes and no on this restaurant. read more

This was our first time visiting La Popular, and Melissa, our bartender, made it an incredible experience! From the moment we sat down, she was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. She gave great drink recommendations, made sure everything was perfect, and went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were outstanding, and everything exceeded our expectations. Her positive attitude and genuine hospitality truly stood out and made our visit memorable. Our first visit to La Popular was such a wonderful experience! Cheyenne was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. I ordered the chopped salad with steak, and it was absolutely delicious--the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Second time visiting. First time was at the bar. I asked for a Manhattan and the bartender looked at me and said, what's that? I expect response this from chain restaurants or dive bar but not "high end". Second time visiting was seated at a table. Long wait, brought chips and salsa without water. Food was mediocre; my wait on a Tuesday was long. I can only imagine a longer wait closer to the weekend. read more

I returned to La Popular on 8/14 to give it another chance after my first visit, which unfortunately was not the most pleasant experience. I'm very glad I decided to come back because this visit was better than ever! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, Kai. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and even complimented us as we entered, which immediately created a positive atmosphere. Her genuine kindness and hospitality made a great first impression. Our waitress, Jasmine, was equally wonderful. She was very attentive throughout our visit, checked on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her friendly attitude and excellent service really helped make our experience enjoyable. The food was also absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The quality of the food, combined with the excellent service, made this visit a completely different experience from my first one. Overall, I was extremely pleased with this visit. It was a complete turnaround from my first experience, and I'm happy that I gave La Popular another chance. Kai and Jasmine both played a big part in making our visit such a great one. Between the delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service, I'm definitely looking forward to returning again! read more

Mole enchiladas with shredded chicken with beans and rice -- mole was SWEET (why?). Had the mole not been so sweet (or at all), I would have enjoyed it; the delicious cocoa flavor came through and they were very generous with their sauce. The shredded chicken in the dish was moist and delicious, and the tortillas well done; absorbed the rich sauce but not mushy. Margarita flight I didn't care for because though beautifully presented, I couldn't enjoy them after the first sips and couldn't drink the rest fast enough before the ice watered them down (ordered it to get a taste of all of them). The classic margarita was closer to enjoyable; needs the bite that the lime gives to the cocktail. Did NOT enjoy the strawberry at all, I barely touched that one. I would try them separately next time. Their complimentary salsa was DELICIOUS!! Oh my gosh! Loved the complexity in flavor - I could eat buckets of that freshly made sauce! Their butter cake was stellar! Moist, flavorful, buttery rich, served with REAL ice cream! The ambience is sophisticated, modern and calming; we went early evening while in daylight and I bet it's great in evening. Their customer service was terrific; warm, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. I may go back and try another dish and order the cocktails differently. read more

I visited La Popular for the second time on Thursday and was extremely disappointed. My first visit was on a taco Tuesday and the service at the bar was terrible. It took 45 minutes to receive chips and salsa; couldn't even flag them down to ask because we were ignored. The only taco that was decent was the street taco. Now I went on Thursday for my best friend's birthday, the waitress was more attentive in the beginning but after we got our food it seemed she disappeared. My husband and I ordered a salad and 2 meat (chicken and steak) fajitas. Our salad had NO dressing on it and we didn't get our tortillas, beans or rice for our fajitas. I did finally get to ASK for our tortillas about 15 minutes after our food arrived and meanwhile my husband was just eating the meat and peppers. While he said the steak was good tasting, overall it wasn't worth the value of the cost. Chilis honestly does a way better job at what they give you for a fajita meal and it was super disappointing. My friends also said their margaritas they got were terrible. In addition, I had major stomach problems the next day and told a coworker where I had dinner and they said the stomach issues happened to them, too. I will not return to this business, it's just simply not worth it. PS: The manager who responded asked me to email her. When I did, I was ghosted. I wasn't looking for anything but I clearly wasted my time responding in hopes to receive a more intentional response. read more

My friend and I just went here, Tuesday July 28th at 11:00, right when they opened. The service at the bar was fantastic. I wish I had asked for names. My phone was almost dead and the gentleman behind the bar allowed me to use a charger for it. The other bartender was also extremely personable, knowledgeable, and helpful and she was brand new. The food was excellent. We enjoyed everything that we had. They have a great taco Tuesday as well as other daily specials. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try! read more
