Went for a birthday meal to La Pizzaria with no expectations. I've never heard of this place before. It is an event center with dining during the day . The surroundings were nice, seating was in a medium sized room with assorted table sizes. It wasn't crowded. Think wedding reception room half full. The temperature was cold, everyone felt it even the help. Seating was slow, ordering drinks was slow, ordering food was slow. Getting your food was slow, as were refills. Not sure why. Food was subpar. Lasagne, Tortellini, sausage and peppers, vodka sauced rigatoni, salmon. No one finished their meal, but it was edible. Not great, but ok. It wasn't to my liking, not horrible, just not that good. All four of us were of the mindset to pass on this place in the future. I didn't take any pictures. read more

You cannot do better than what La Pizzeria has to offer! Our Daughter-in-law baby shower was a family affair and total success thanks to the traditional and contemporary service we experienced. While the ladies enjoyed their party in the beautiful atrium room, the guys enjoyed equally amazing service out at the bar which had a sports bar vibe that they created just for us. We were served the meals that were ordered for the gals but couldn't make it at the last minute. For me it was a new twist on an event the guys just didn't normally experience. Terri and Nella are incredibly gracious hosts who span this generational restaurant from its roots to the present and beyond. Food and service were beyond what you typically get these days. Came for a party the other night. Food was good (family style meal), service was attentive, but the interior looked so dated. The furnishings were high end about 25 years ago. and the bathrooms made the whole restaurant smell of sewage. I would not have been comfortable in the front room, but luckily our party was seated in a backroom that was cozier and the smell was faint. read more

The salad was not even defrosted when it got to the table, but you could tell it's been sitting for a while because the beets had bled into the salad. I had the Parmesan chicken with garlic masked potatoes and my husband had the veal Parmesan. The Parmesan chicken was FABULOUS. Perfectly cooked & seasoned. A+. The mashed potatoes were fine. The veal was wonderful, but the sauce was watery and very sweet. They also forgot the meat in the sauce. Then he decided to work with it and sprinkle Parmesan in the sauce with the hopes of thickening the sauce, but that was not successful. He tasted the cheese by itself and it was found to be either stale or plain old expired. Our server, Wendy, was outstanding. Attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, it was not enough to save the food and we definitely will not return nor recommend this to friends. We would've done better to go to Olive Garden. read more

I was "laid off" (fired) from la pizzaria for no VALID reason. I've been an employee here for the last 4 years The last couple years I've been the guy they call on when people don't show up or call off... I'm the one who picked up all of the slack. Still treated like crap. I recently mentioned being compensated for the extra shifts and extra work i do when others don't show up. And magically I'm out of work all of a sudden. They treat all employees of color differently... the schedule is unfair to the dependable workers (my self and a couple others) Louisa (the owner) is behind all of this mess. Very poor people to work for. I don't recommend eating there due to improper (FIFO) none of the cooks are trained properly. Cross contamination. Dating food. The list goes on. This is not to bash this business but I've kept quiet long enough. Just want to spread some awareness in stark county. I do not recommend!!! read more

We hosted a 35-person funeral luncheon and spent over $1,200. After leftovers were packed up for us to take home, I asked for one extra take-home container to separate out a plate for our house sitter. The server refused, saying it was "against the contract." Being denied a 73-cent container after a large, prepaid event--especially with gratuity already included--was disappointing and unprofessional. A good friend of mine recommended coming here specifically for their chicken Marsala. We had been talking about our experiences at various places in the area and that my husband still had not found something he loved here. She highly recommended La Pizzaria and said her wedding receptions was here because of the chicken Marsala. We had a date night and decided to try it out. If my husband could have a review of just his dinner, he'd give it five stars. However, there were a lot of other things going on that caused the two stars. First... the service was lousy. When I asked our server for recommendations, as we'd never been here, she said "oh I don't know... the seafood is good, and so are the steaks... and the pasta." Like completely generic and not helpful all. We started with the bruschetta bc of fellow Yelpers saying its good and it was just ok. Not the best I've ever had but not the worse either. I got the French Onion soup to start and it was completely bland. With a $3 up charge to have it instead of salad, it was overpriced, underwhelming, and not worth it. Our dinners were good. My husband LOVED his Marsala but my lasagne was just ok. Not too flavorful and a ginormous portion. I had enough to have again for dinner a few nights later. As soon as we were done we asked for boxes and the check and we then sat for over 20 minutes waiting for our waitress to return. My husband had to hunt her down bc we needed to leave and had wasted a half hour just waiting for boxes and our check. Overall my husband would go back, but I'm not sure if I will. It's too expats take kids ($8 kids meals that don't include a drink) and it was a rather expensive dinner for what we got. read more

Very good meal. Haven't been here in many years. Went for a family jiday meal and it was very good. The fettuccine Alfredo with parmesan crusted chicken was big enough for 3 meals. I ordered a baked potato instead of a salad and received 2 potatoes. My sons got the gnocchi with spinach and artichoke sauce and the egg plant parmesan. My wife her usual angel hair pasta with meat sauce. Very attentive staff and all of the food was prepared amazingly. Will be back again soon. read more

This restaurant is set in a large very pretty building that is meant to accommodate parties with multiple guests. They also had a large open dining area with tables for smaller parties as well. We wanted to try pizza from somewhere new and picked this place. When I entered in to pick it up (no drive thru or curbside is offered), it was very quiet and peaceful. Just a few families were inside the restaurant and there wasn't a lot of hustle and bustle. This was on a Wednesday, not a weekend. One pizza was cheese, the other had onions and peppers on it. The crust is a bit of a thicker hand tossed type crust. The sauce that was used was very good, and had just a hare of sweetness to it. The pizza was cooked well, although was not cut at all. That wasn't a big deal to me...we can cut pizza without a problem. I'm just not sure if that was normal or if it accidentally came out to us and should have been cut. It was my first time here. We started with calamari for an appetizer. My son and I, both ordered the eggplant Parmesan with meat sauce. I was impressed. My son is a very picky and loved his food as well. It was phenomenal all the flavors were there for me. I'd order it again. My husband ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with Parmesan crusted chicken and antipasto salads both were just as good. The house dressing is great. My daughter had the mushroom medley, it was yummy. She and I switched plates half way through our meal so we could try each other's food. We ended the meal with tiramisu. It was so full of flavor. I'm getting that first next time. We all took half of our meals home. The serving sizes are very large. This restaurant is great, I'll definitely be back. I really want to try everything on the menu. Food was okay. Was not able to enjoy my entree due to having to wait so long for it. I indulged in the bread because of being so hungry, filled up on that and the salad. Once the entree came out 50 mins later, I had it boxed up because of filling up on bread and the salad. I was with a party of nine (including myself) . We had one sever on the party ,which is usually standard. He was great getting our beverage orders out in a timely fashion. Took appetizer orders (only a couple were ordered) those came out in a timely fashion. Then, Took our dinner orders. Most of us had salads coming out. Well- this is when things slowed way up( the place was dead). We waited for about 25 mins for the salad . Then our entrees were brought out about 45 mins later. Like I mentioned above, we were all full before the entrees came out. Most of us had them boxed up, to take home. Now, it was time to pay. Most of us were paying by card. Was there last Saturday. Have eaten there a few times but it had been awhile. Sadly it was the worst meal I have eaten there. The place was packed so not sure if that was the problem or not. Ordered blackened shrimp over pasta with oil and garlic. They brought out blackened salmon. When someone not our waiter brought the wrong food he seemed annoyed that he had to take it back. This place is just ok. People were very nice. We ordered pasta and Stromboli. Prices are reasonable. The bread is good. The side salad was full of veggies but no cheese and it's not there fault that I don't like the veggies they used but the dressing was just horrible. It was hhe house. Just nothing but oil. No flavor. The pasta was a huge portion!! However they do not put enough sauce on it. I saw other reviews w the same complaint. Sauce was just ok. The Stromboli was huge and my husband said it was the worst one he has ever had. Maybe other dishes are better bc my mother lives this place so I went. The wait was horrible. There were only two of us, yet it took 90 minutes to get our food after ordering. Pasta was way over cooked and mushy. Red skin potatoes with herbs was just chopped up russet potatoes with pepper. This place is a gem! Stumbled upon this place on yelp and I'm so happy u did! My new favorite restaurant. By far the best Italian food ive had In this city. The potion sizes are great. My appetizer was so large I had to hold off eating the entree. The decor in the restaurant and is beautiful. If you have not been to this restaurant, do yourself a favor . We were there last Saturday. We have eaten here a number of times, but this was the worst meal ever. My husband ordered a cup of minestrone soup. What he got was a small cup of tomato sauce with a handful of shell pasta mixed in. Awful. His entree was lasagna. Again, the same awful tomato sauce poured over a very small piece of lasagna. I had a dinner salad, which was OK, and my entree was cranberry crusted salmon. This huge plate was 3/4 full of risotto and this tiny piece of salmon with a couple of dried cranberries thrown on. I could not eat anything on this plate because it so overly salted. Normally when we dine here I request veal piccata even though it is not on the menu, but not this time. I was told they were too busy to make it tonight and the other diners may not like it if they see someone with a meal not on the menu. What horse pucky. On the other hand, maybe I dodged a bullet considering how lousy our meals were. When we were finished, our waitress had disappeared and we never saw her again. Another server handled our check. Went here on a whim one night when all the other restaraunts had a large wait time, we got in with no problem. We were highly under dressed, this is more of a "fancy" place by the way everyone else was dressed. Our waiter was awesome, i wish i could remember his name, maybe Matt? But he was busting his butt he had several tables, and was bartending (which i thought was odd for a friday night that you would do both) but he didn't miss a beat! We had homemade sangria, it was delicious, we ordered the calamari appetizer and both had dinner portions, we took a large amount of it home, it was so much food!! Just had a family dinner special they put together during the pandemic. We got the parmesan crusted chicken, comes with salad, penne pasta in marinara sauce, flat green beans, roasted potatoes and bread. We ordered for 3 (3 adults and a 5yo) and were delighted. The food was fabulous and we will be enjoying leftovers over the weekend. (Always a plus) The salad is fresh and beautiful accompanied by their dressing. The chicken is breaded just enough and it's still very juicy. The flat green beans may be the highlight! The potatoes and pasta, both heavenly. And the bread isn't to be overlooked; hearty enough to get the extra marinara sauce and their butter takes it to another level. Over 15 main selections on the hot food buffet including the best Lamb and Chicken you have ever had. Veggies, noodles, pasta and on and on... An enormous salad and fruit bar was accompanied by a dessert sampler table with mini desserts for every tastebud! Service is as always perfect and kind! The staff will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. Clean and tasteful traditional Italian decor makes the whole experience just that... An experience! We went for the Easter Family Style meal. From the moment we walked it, the staff was rude to each other. Hostesses snapping at the other hostesses, servers yelling at one another from across the place about tables and food. We were not given dinner plates, so we ate our entree off of our salad plates. Who doesn't want to pile their ham and pasta on top of salad dressing remnants from the overdressed salad? No one cleared tables, so our table was full of dirty dishes from the salad course on. No one voluntarily refilled our drinks. No one offered to bring us more food, even though that was supposed to be refilled as well. The self serve coffee was out. The bathrooms were never tidied up so paper towels were overflowing from the trash can, and there was a roll of half wet paper towels on the bathroom counter to use since the paper towel dispenser was out. All in all, this experience was not worth the cost. We won't go back. read more

My boyfriend and I went here the other day for my birthday, and to sum up my feelings on the place, I would truly just say "Meh." The outside of the place was a bit ostentatious, but perhaps that was due to the fact that it has banquet halls in addition to the restaurant in the building. There was a TV embedded into the brick outside as we walked into the restaurant, and inside it had an expensive-looking light fixtures, tile work and a grandfather clock with a gold pendulum. Despite the expensive appearance, the interior looked rather dated. We sat in one of the booths, which were floral print with mauve trim. The wall next to us was covered with a giant mirror with a design in the middle and surrounded by pink-marble effect plates. My boyfriend even agreed that the place looked like it had been designed by someone's grandmother. Also, our table was right next to the bar and the entrance to the kitchen. We don't drink so we didn't really care about the bar, but being so close to the kitchen allowed us to hear the workers shouting conversations at each other. It was 8:00 PM on a Wednesday but the place wasn't busy at all, so I don't know exactly why they put us in such an unpleasant spot. Perhaps so the waitress didn't have to carry our food as far? The good: the service was fantastic and the salad with their house dressing was delicious. My meal wasn't exactly bad, but not great either. It was not nearly as good as I was expecting it to be from another review. I ordered the "Italian medley" entree, which was a sample of 3 different dishes: lasagna, shells in alfredo, and gnocchi in pesto. They were all put together on the same plate... Personally, I don't like different types of sauces mixing together, and it certainly wasn't visually appealing, but it wasn't bad. The pesto was oddly creamy and the other 2 sauces tasted similar to store bought sauces. It was $14, but it was a huge amount of food. I have a big appetite and was only able to eat half of it. My boyfriend, however, had an awful experience with his meal. He got the eggplant parmesan, which came with some pasta on the side. The pasta was apparently acceptable since he ate all of it, but the eggplant itself was heavily breaded and then deep-fried, much to his displeasure. He ate a little over a quarter of it before he was too disgusted to eat any more. He said it reminded him of fair food and he even felt a slightly sick later because of how oily it was. Overall; not bad, not good. If it had been a couple bucks cheaper and from a place that was more casual, I probably would have walked away feeling quite pleased with the food. The appearance of the place and the quality of the food just didn't mesh, and I probably won't bother going to La Pizzaria again. If you do decide to give it a try, I'd recommend wearing nicer clothes, as my boyfriend felt out of place wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and sandals. read more

Wow.. pretty disapointed. This used to be one of my favorite italian spots. Unfortunately, the food tonight was unedible. And the experience was piss poor. First off, my dinner companion ordered scallops and they brought her scrod?!?!?! The waitress took it back and 25 minutes later she brought her scallops laying on the exact same bed of hard pasta!?!?!? Instantly, we qere overwhelmed by thought extra ripe fish smell. We told the waitress it was unedible, she agreed, and took it to the kitchen. By this time I was done with my chicken marsala which was equally not good. It tasted as if it were microwaved. You know when you over cook something in the microwave and it is super hot and rubbery? Thats what the chicken tasted like. My companion agreed to try the lasagna since the waitress said it was quick. .. 20 minutes later out came the microwaved lasagna. We received our bill and her meal was not comped... I asked why.. the waitress said let me see what I can do. She said the manager or owner (whoever it was) said no she had 3 choices and liked none. I went and "talked" to the manager/owner and agreed to accept I $15 gift card since my credit card was already proccessed. There are too many restaurants in the area to poorly manage one.. poor management will lead closure.. the gift card I received will be a gift in somebodies bday or xmas card because I will not return. .. and that sucks because this used to be my "goto" italian spot.. not no more back to napolis. read more

This is my favorite Italian food (outside my Nanna's kitchen) by far. My wife and I had dinner her the night they opened and have been hooked ever since. We find ourselves here often even though we;ve moved 40 minutes North. The Fresh Cut Veal Parm is my favorite dish here - although I've never had anything I didn't like - it's breaded well, a great cut of veal, and the house red sauce here is perfect. La Pizzaria has been consistent whether its my wife, son and I, a wedding reception for 300, or a holiday brunch for 3000. I'll never pass up a chance dine here. read more

I am going to give this one more star than it may deserve, especially for the service we had, because I thought a couple things were so good that it made the mediocre things a little less important. First let me say this place is huge. Like absolutely enormous. Great for large parties, weddings, etc. We had the appetizer medley to start and the the 'cheese stix' they list on there are out of this world. This is not your average cheese stick at all, this is fresh mozz in a ball with maybe some kind of beer batter? I don't know but it was the best cheese stick or ball or whatever I have ever had. Next, we tried the wedding soup and I really enjoyed it, very flavorful although I wouldn't say I'm an expert at wedding soup. So then I got the blackened shrimp and scallops with a Parmesan cream sauce and it was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was fantastic. So now for the mediocre part of the meal...the calamari app was OK, cooked well enough but nothing special. My husband got some kind of salad with strawberries and a maple dressing and it was pretty bad. It was so sweet from the maple dressing that it just made it not very enjoyable. My brother got a seafood pasta dish as well but his shrimp was overcooked by quite a bit. As for the service, it was bad. Not just bad, pretty awful. I understand she was busy and we had 6 adults and 2 kids but let me give you an example. She came by while I was in the bathroom and asked my husband if I wanted another glass of wine, of course he said yes, while he had an empty glass of beer in front of him but she never asked him if he wanted another one. She was very very slow as well. So I would absolutely be back, and would actually be excited to go back bc the menu was huge, with a lot of things I would like to try! read more
