My Uncle Dan is straight out of a movie. The most Italian man you could ever think of. Straight out…read moreof the Goodfellas, thick accent, wife beater, gold chains, etc. He has more money from his construction business than he knows what to do with. He's in his twilight years of working so these days he mostly spends his time making his own red wine from scratch, hunting turkeys, and growing vegetables in his garden. He clears the vibe check. I'm yapping now, but all this to say he picked Il Gatto E La Volpe for dinner so I knew this food was gonna SMACK. We started with margherita pizzas for the table, arrancini, calamari, and a couple bottles of red wine picked by Uncle Dan. My Mom got the gnocchi bolognese, which I knew I would get 80% of as she eats like a mouse, so I went with the Florentine steak. I hate to be corny and say "everything was sensational," but everything was sensational so Imma leave it at that. My favorites were the gnocchi bolognese and arrancini though, as I had never seen gnocchi bolognese on a menu. It honestly should be a more common dish. I'm making a prediction that by 2029, gnocchi bolognese will be a standard item on all Italian menus. Service was great, vibes were up, and this was just a great place to enjoy some much needed family time over some red wine. These haters got me stressed. SHOUTOUT TO UNCLE DAN! The standout items for me really were the Margherita pizza (not pictured) and Burrata -- wow is the bread chewy and delicious! But really, everything I had was tasty, including the pastas and risottos. Portion sizes are quite generous too. On top of everything, our server was outstanding. She went above and beyond to make our group and event feel special. She thoughtfully brought us sharing plates, swapped our dirty plates for new ones, promptly refilled our water glasses, brought us additional utensils and napkins -- all unprompted! I rarely talk about service, but I was so impressed with her. Wish I knew her name so I can give her a better shout out! Ambiance was inviting and bright. The restaurant is spacious and well-lit. All in all, excellent food and service. Definitely recommend.

What a beautiful experience!…read more First time in Klinburg and I was surprised at how cute it was! We had reservations for 6pm and were promptly seated and attended too. Our server was very kind, and not overwhelming at all. We started with the mushrooms and bread and it was served with this really good chili sauce. He wait until we were ready to put the order for our mains in. Our pasta was delicious! I loved how perfectly cooked the rabbit was!

Our waiter Andre was amazing. Love his spirit and jokes. The place was very elegantly designed, with bulb lights above and comfortable seatings around. Wall glass windows to see the beautiful lights outside of kleinburg town. Food: the appetizer : mussels in tomato sauce (I think) that was exquisite, cooked to perfection. The tuna , lightly seared topped with capers and olives, perfect combination. Calabrese pizza, nice and spicy on a thin crust with sauce (my favourite). The calamari, you can never go wrong with calamari's. The main : two of us had the lobster/crab pasta. Gnocchi potatoes, seafood pasta, mussels pasta , penne alla vodka and the salmon wellington. Let me tell you how we left no crumbs behind. It was beyond our expectations and now one of our favourite spot. Oh, and asked for Andre, he has the best recommendation for wine.

Professional and courteous service was provided throughout the meal... Both still (not tap) and sparkling water was served, and even the bottles were sealed! Our group ordered a polenta stick and fried calamari as an appetizer to share. The calamari was fried with minimal flour so you will not feel super heavy, yet it still has a crunch to every bite. The polenta stick was new to me as I have never had polenta before, yet I won't turn down the offer. It was crispy on the outside, and soft inside, adding the marinara sauce gave more flavor to the blend polenta. Both appetizers would have tasted better if a little salt or more flavour was added. I have ordered the "tonnarelli zucca e porcini", aka mushroom pasta with butternut squash puree topped with burrata cheese. The pasta was made in-house and cooked to al dente, it has that doughy and chewy texture hence you could tell it's not the supermarket ones. The puree was light so it counteracted the heaviness of the pasta, yet it was little flavour, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any flavour.

The servers are always checking the table if all is well and checking if your drinking glasses are full. The appetizers (aka the antipasti on their menu) are lovely. One has got to try their Calamari Fritti because the serving is plentiful with a lovely crunch to the batter used. My main which was the $35.00 Pollo seemed very 'piccolo' but was somewhat satisfying to the tastebuds. When we arrived there at around 11:30 AM, parking was plentiful. When we left at 1:30 PM, the parking was full to the point where vehicles were parked illegally. We almost had issues leaving the premises. That is the drawback. The lot isn't that big and this restaurant is very popular in the area.
