The food is consistently excellent from their shrimp parmigiana hero,calamari arrabiata,baked ziti siciliano,salads, and all the pastas cannot be compared to anywhere else they are so good! When i was growing up and we didn't have a lot of money my mother would be forced to serve us 2 day old bread. It was hard like a rock but it was served with love. An Italian restaurant with these prices should be able to include a piece of fresh bread that compliments the meal and not a stale rock that is harder than the the 2 day old bread my mother served. I need my 100 pound lab's teeth to chew what they call bread. Competition is coming. I would up your game. Take out is hit or miss and depends on the evening. We haven't ordered from here in a while due to constant mistakes they make on takeout. After not ordering for months (maybe a year) we decided to order from them. Ordered our food at 5:34. At 6:14 they called me to tell me they were out of the barbecue chicken slice I ordered for my daughter. I was slightly annoyed that they tell me this 40 min later. My daughter is a very picky eater. So I said, "ok I'll order chicken fingers and fries then". The woman who called said, "ok well your entire order is ready so now it will have to wait while the chicken cooks". They should have remade the order, not let it all sit, but I was hungry and annoyed and didn't want to argue so I said fine, please expedite the order because we've already been waiting so long. She said she would. Our food finally arrived at 6:39, with no chicken fingers!!! I called and the woman said they'd send it right away. At 7:10 they still hadn't arrived so I called. I said based on principle, I want a refund for the chicken fingers. They gave me store credit. Which I'm obviously never using!! This is for the La Piazza in Westbury-formally Mama Teresa's-the quality is way down, menu is smaller and staff was so-so. I ordered baked clams and they came out raw-i was so disgusted, but the server took it off the bill and offered something else which I declined. Gave me a diet coke instead of regular. food is average. customer service / communication was really bad. they talk about customers after they leave - criticizing a dad about his parenting and then a teenager about not being an "alpha male" they upsold me to add chicken to a Caesar salad and didn't tell me it would be 30min wait. I saw people behind me in line get their slices, I asked for my money back, as I only had 15min for lunch. they refused to give me my money back and then miraculously the salad was ready immediately. then I had to wait 5min (while the manager argued with me and would not give me my money back) for them to heat the slices that they repeatedly told me were ready. If you only other restaurants can crank out this much good stuff and in these quantities. It seems like these guys literally have the secret sauce! That can be seen in anything they throw that buffalo chicken into either on the roll or the pizza, that mix of blu cheese and heat is just awesome, good thing I have a half roll in the fridge as I am craving as I write this . The star of the show is the various pies, you can't go wrong with even a few plain slices and throwing some pepper flakes and some Parmesan and you are set. The spinach and white pies is a good option as well, but it seems they do a really good job with the tomato sauce base stuff like the grand ma and the margarita. I like the croquettes here as well always good with the marina sauce. This is one of my go to spots when I have been away from the island and I am craving real deal NY pizza. read more

Always a great experience! Salads, pizza, and any entrees have never disappointed. Their house salad dressing is an all time favorite of mine. Not only have they raised their prices, but they have shrunk their portions. I understand inflation, but don't rip me off by trimming the portion size as well. I have been coming to LaP for 25 years. Food is consistently delicious .. I cannot take that away. But the delivery is simply abysmal. Last night, for the second time in a row, we ordered dinner at just before 6:30. I asked for a time frame of delivery and was told "within an hour" .... fine... After 3 phone calls asking where the delivery was.. I told the young lady, if you cannot get here in 15 minutes, I don't want it. I was told it was being packed up and leaving in a few minutes. 35 minutes passes and I give up. Finally, I went down the street, ordered and picked up from Francescos and was eating dinner by 8:15. 8:30 the bell rings and its the delivery guy from LaP. Nice kid. I told him, "forget it, don't want it. This was ordered just over 2 hours ago...." I get its Covid. But come on. Went in during lunch time and it was mobbed. The line moved very fast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place is huge and the restaurant area looked really nice. Came here for lunch with my coworkers and didn't regret a second of it. I have visited La Piazza in Merrick and I've always had the pizza and never really sat down for a meal. This time I did but I'm plainview. I had the pick two lunch menu and it was such a great price. A whole panini and half a personal pizza for 13$! For those who don't want a healthier alternative, there are salads and soups available (probably what I should've done). Pros Buffalo chicken, chicken Marsala are the two best slices here. Hands down can't find better versions at other places. Grandma is also an honorable mention Cons Service and prices. I would never in a gazillion years think of dining in for this fact, but for take-out - perfect spot. The people working the counter are all very friendly, keep the line moving and keep you getting to your carbs quicker. We've gotten the soup (tortellini brodo and the pasta fazool). Pasta fazool = pasta fagioli. My Italian grandparents would likely roll in their graves if I didn't pronounce fazool, ricotta, and mozzarella the appropriate ways. Ahh, i miei nonni. The fazool was just O.K., a little too heavy on the beans and the tortellini soup was good, however not the best I've ever had. The pizza was delish - whole wheat bar pie margherita style. Super yum! And my personal favorite - the penne melanzane. However, I substitute with rigatoni since it is my favorite pasta in lieu of the penne. This dish comes with a generous heaping of eggplant, pasta, a nice plum sauce and a big ol' scoop of ricotta. They were smart enough to put the ricotta in a separate container, since it is cold and would bring down the temperature of the dish on the drive home. I eat this up in about three seconds flat. I don't know why I am on such an eggplant kick lately, but this dish I can't get enough of. I'm sure I'll tire of it and eventually order something new, but for now I can't pass it up. In fact, I'm kinda jonesing for it right now! This is a great place in the area, and definitely a great place for taking out. Call ahead to avoid waiting 30 minutes for your food to be ready, but it seems to be prepared in a quicker time than what you are given. And be sure to pick up a bottle of red, a bottle of white - whatever mood you're in tonight. Liquor/wine is right next door. Buon appetito! read more

I've been coming here ever since it opened. I remember when JT switched from The Gallery to La Piazza. Their pizza is excellent. They have a lot of great choices for lunch. Over the years, they have made a lot of upgrades to the restaurant. They have added seating in the front, they remodeled, they have even changed the menu recently. The food has always been good. It's just consistently tasty, no worries about the quality. Here's the issue. They have never been cheap. They have been convenient but the prices were manageable. Now they have 3 locations, and someone has to pay the bills. Guess who that is? The customer. They have raised prices so much that it's become laughable. Just looking at some of the menu items I said are they kidding? I ordered a bowl of penne oreganata which came with a handful of baby shrimp and some cut up asparagus. I would say it's a dish I would pay $15 for. La Piazza charges $21. Oh do you like Veal Francese? A dish that usually hovers around the $20 area in most places, at La Piazza is a whopping $26.50. Like I said, you can't go wrong with the food but I think there are better places for dinner for this kind of money. If you're going to spend $26 on a dish, go to La Parma II in Huntington, and get it family style for almost the same price! Stick with this place for pizza and lunch. read more

I have been going to La piazza for over 20 years and they honestly never disappoint. I will say this is not where I would for for a regular slice as there are so many places in the area with a better regular slice but their specialty slices are superb. They hands down have the BEST buffalo chicken slice I've ever had. The grandma slice is also amazing. Some other shining stars on the menu are their grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, and croutons that can be added to any salad, Caesar dressing, mozzarella wedged, chicken primavera. I would give zero stars if I could. I went in today to pick up an order for my job that was placed earlier in the day(at 11 when they opened for a 12 pick up) When I got there I was rung up and told my food would be out shortly. 10 minutes into my wait Danielle goes over to the host station and starts asking which took the order for, and starts rambling off some of my order. I asked her if she was talking about my order and produced my receipt for her. She said yes, that the kitchen misplaced my ticket(the food was ready not to worry it just needed to be bagged) fast forward 35 mins and I'm still waiting. I brought it to someone's attention and they told me they were still waiting on an item to finish cooking. So here I am watching people order baked ziti and other various items that need to be cook get their food and leave. Mind you this is not the first instance where there has been a problem. The last time they sent our food via delivery even though we asked for pick up. So I drove there and home in the time it was supposed to be ready and then had to wait an additional 30 mins for my delivery to come. The time before that the delivery guys car broke down and our delivery was over 2 hours late. So now this isn't an isolated incident this is a pattern of not being able to process large orders. My company will be going elsewhere for our lunches going forth. read more

Amazing Restaurant... The Entire Menu Tastes Incredible. 20,000 stars go to the water refill guys who work around lunch time. Those boys don't play NO games. I took 1 sip of water, you guessed it, filled to the top. I was there for about an hour, constantly sipping my water, these guys didn't let my water fall below the HALF WAY mark. Service, Service, Service. You don't get that kind of service anywhere else. This place is great in every single way of the word great, it's not just the water refill guys. Good afternoon folks I wanted to bring this to your attention because I was not aware of what this place was doing till I got hire there. I was hire as a delivery driver I was there only one hour because all the young drivers were so happy to say they had COVID and the owner didn't care for them. They started to cough on each other saying you should join us so we all have COVID. The servers didn't seem happy by the treatment they receive from the owner and I didn't see the cooks wearing a mask. I used to love this place.
