My experience with the staff and facility has been nothing but positive. She build amazing friendships with other kids and absolutely loved the staff. Had my daughter attend for 3 days a week & did not go back after the first. She was left crying in a corner for 7 hours for ALL 3 days. I asked them maybe twice if they could comfort her and they got defensive and said they were trying their best and they had to do other things with the other children. All I asked for was for some hugs or for them to reassure her and it was too much. They look overwhelmed and I saw the teacher snap at a child the second day I dropped my daughter off. I do not recommend this place and I think they should offer more support to teachers. How is there 1 teacher for over 8 toddlers? Lets do better! What a missed opportunity to write a good review. Let me tell you, I tried really hard to work with them only to have my son and I let down in the end. Our adventure starts with their scheduling system which is a zoom-style meeting with their director (I didn't even get the director, I got the assistant director) who essentially told me they would not be able to work with us since our son wasn't potty trained. Like, they didn't even meet my son and told me that. The district manager got involved and she was sweet enough, even having their director Wendy call me back and work up a complimentary half day (knowing my son wasn't potty trained) only to have Wendy tell they could not help us out until he is fully potty trained. Kids are potty trained between 2-4 per the US pediatrics association...you want perfect kids? I really wish I hadn't gotten my time wasted by them. Your kid better know algebra and the Roman alphabet before starting here...they're not in the child care business, they're in the teach your kid everything we'll consider having them here business. They forgot to pick up my daughter from kindergarten on her first day. They were rude when I called to ask if they were going to pick her up. They lied to me saying that they were outside the school waiting for her. They were rude to the office staff at the school when they finally showed up almost an hour after dismissal. This place is so crowded, I pulled out my kids from this place because they get sick all the time. The place is unsanitary... They're bathroom is so dirty, one reason kids gets sick so easily.. La Petitte Academy is one of the best childcare facilities in the Riverside/ La Sierra area. My children have been attending the establishment for about 9 years now and I've seen it go though many changes. I wanna say the past 3 years have the most amazing and outstanding changes in the facility due to the director Mrs Wendy. She is a person who loves her job and the people in it. She came in and completely remodeled all the room and updated the facility with new toys, furniture, and added new technology in the classrooms. The whole facility is monitored by security cameras in each classroom and playgrounds. As you walk in the front office you can observe your child before you head off to your busy day knowing that my child is being closely monitored helps give me that peace of mind. Cause I know first hand having to be gone from your child for long periods of time isn't easy. I also receive updates though out the day via Bright Wheel application on my phone of what my girls ate how long they napped and also there activities and sometime pictures which always bring a smile to my face to see my child so comfortable is heartwarming. The teacher and staff all are very helpful and loving people and also love what they do. I'm always greeted with a good morning or have a good night. It just feels like a home away from home for my children they really enjoy being there and that's comforting to a parent. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is unsure . read more

Stopped by LaPetite to tour the school and possibly enroll my son. Director and staff weren't so welcoming. Gave me a quick tour of the school but didn't explain their curriculum or daily activities. Director seemed annoyed with all the questions I had. I had asked the Director if she knew about the negative reviews they had on yelp and what they were doing to fix the problem. She got defensive and said she didn't know what Yelp was nor knew about the bad reviews. Definitely didn't enroll my son here. read more

My son has only been there a month and has already had two incidents of him not being cleaned properly after a bowel movement. I pay a substantial amount a month, and they can't even seem to understand the fundamentals values of cleanliness for a child. I reported it to the facility the first time and never so much as got a call from the director to even apologize, it wasn't until my husband stopped in two days later and confronted her that she even acknowledge it. My son has been attending La Petite for about 6 months now and we are very satisfied with our experience thus far. Being a first time mother, I broke down at I thought of someone else watching my son but the ladies here made the transition easy for me. Everyday is based off curriculum and we've seen an improvement in his day to day interactions. I love the app that gives you daily updates as to when your child checked in, his activities throughout the day and his meals! A plus side, they have the convenience of making your payment online! My daughter is 2 and a half and LOVES her teachers here. At her old school, she used to cry and hold on to me when I dropped her off, and she would come home yelling (copying whatever she had hear that day). Now, when I drop her off, she goes right inside to hug her teachers and then goes to play with her friends. Since she started her, she has been talking a LOT more (everyone in my family noticed!) She regularly sings new songs she learned in class in the car ride home. She learned to count past 20 too! They also work on potty training with her. The place is horrible! My kid screamed every morning for 5 weeks as I dropped him off. I thought he would transition in but the problem is the school not my kid. It needs to be disinfected, vacuumed daily and the care givers need to remember that they work in daycare not juvenile hall. Today at drop off one "teacher" had 13 kids in her room, all under 3 years old. One of the kids was sitting in his chair crying, he had only been there 20 minutes and said that the "teacher" had yelled at him. I will never take my baby back to those bullies. read more

I am soooo happy with my experience here at La Petite. My daughter is 2 1/2 and is very shy so I was extra nervous about her being in a classroom setting. She comes every week for 2 half days and is really enjoying it. Every day when I get home from work I ask about her day and she tells me that she had fun playing with her friends at school. A few days ago she started singing the ABCs at home and I was shocked. She has learned so many things in the few months that she has been attending. Putting her at La Petite was truly one of the best decisions I have made. Every time I call with any questions or concerns, they are always patient with me and I really believe they care about the kids in their classrooms. I enrolled my son at La Petite almost 2 years ago. He is currently attending the before and after school program and he truly enjoys his afternoons with Ms. Jennifer. She has a great attitude and cares about the kids in her class. He enjoys play time- he likes the toys and games, electronic time on Fridays, and he loves the food/snacks. My 4 yr old son has been coming here for about 5 months now and he's doing really well. He's excited to do his homework and he's already learned so much. This school needs to be disinfected. My child stayed sick with colds, viruses, and pink eye. Every time my child would have a knot on his head they never knew what happened. They have too many kids for one teacher. They do not use filter water and only wash toys once a week. read more

I have a 2yr old son that I enrolled into La Petite this past summer, it was close to my house, and he was only going to have to go a few days a week. We checked the school out, it seemed fine enough, I had visited others and this was not much different than some Montessori's I had seen. Everything looked just fine for my little boy to go to. However, after a few weeks of him being there, aside from the pink eye or lice that he caught from there, I noticed he would just cry his eyes out when we would pull up to drop him off for the day. Then he would hold on to me like a leach to not let him go. This struck me as weird because we go to church, and he runs into class on his own with a simple "Bye mom" back at me, no problem going to class there. So with those 2 to compare I started to worry maybe this wasn't the best fit, but didnt have a good reason why... until his last day he was there. I dropped him off, and hung out a minute to make sure he was ok, because he was screaming to not be left, and looked back to see one of the teachers Yelling at a little boy over a dropped banana. She had the very loud typical Mom voice any mom might get with their own child if they really did something bad like punch their sibling or what not... but this was a dropped banana. He didnt throw it at anyone, he wasnt being mean, but she yelled at him in front of the kids, then grabbed his wrist and jsut shy of slamming it on the table yelling "I told you to pick this up, all of it, put this down, and pick this all up, what did I tell you!" I am sorry I might be new at this, but I only talk to my son like that when he has really done something awful. And to put in to perspective, I have already started him at a new church daycare, by day 3 he was telling me "Bye mom" and giving his teachers hugs goodbye. It is like day and night the difference in how he is acting. I know what I pulled him for might not be completely tangible, aside from the banana incident, but he was obviously not connecting with someone at the school, possibly because the teacher I thought he started with isnt even there anymore, I was not introduced to all of the teachers, and it seems they change a little there. For moms that want a very loving, welcoming environment, this might not be the place. I do suppose everyones experience is different, but this was mine, and thought I should share for any other moms that are there and feeling uneasy, or any that might feel like me and maybe decide to just not attend there. my daughter has been attending LPA since the age of 2. she is now 5 and entering kindergarten. in all the years of her attending LPA she has learned a whole lot. She has been going full time since then and thanks to the dedicated staff & management she has been very well prepared for kindergarten. The teachers have been there for years, are friendly, and communicate well with the parents. My daughter, as well as myself, feel at home and consider La Petite Academy like extended family. The teachers and kids share a special bond and you can see it whenever you go in to pick up/drop off your kids. I have friends and close loved ones that are child care providers/teachers and they all say that La Petite Academy stands out on top! If you are looking for a clean environment for your children, a safe environment, caring teachers, and a great learning environment for your children/your loved ones children then La Petite Academy is the place for you!
