Hate that I love this place. $15.90 after tax for a carne asada burrito, $17.74 for a California burrito -- not too pricey, but definitely not a deal. The burritos aren't massive, but they're the right size for me when I'm actually hungry and want a proper meal. Sonoran-style tortillas are lightly charred, soft, and add real flavor. The carne asada (even though it's pre-prepared) is tender, well-seasoned, and high quality. The beans and rice in the carne asada burrito are surprisingly solid and seasoned just enough to let the meat shine. Salsa roja is excellent with more heat than average. Salsa verde is very mild with a nice touch of acidity -- great on the California burrito. This would be an easy 5 if they cooked the carne asada to order like La Perla #3 in Point Loma. Prices depending on what you get , bread is fresh in morning, produce is a bit high but i thing it's because they are a convenience area for neighborhood / walking customers , service is acceptable, ambience is usually normal for a small store sometimes is busy but you can still get your items in less than 15 to 20 minutes, I tried to pay cash so I don't incur a using a card fee, this is a company owned by Two Brothers the one in Oceanside on North Redondo Drive is owned by one brother and they have a couple of tables outside and they have a small bar like area to eat on the inside there's another one off of mission right by the 5 freeway owned by the other brother items are similar sold on both stores one by the freeway is a lot bigger they have more variety and they also serve alcohol and they have more groceries and tables that you can sit and eat two places two different neighborhoods two different clientele and two different prices but the food is about the same as you would expect from a Mexican restaurant I believe you have to experience it from yourself I am just trying to be as fair as possible because I've been to both places for the last 9 years and I've had different experiences on both but I support small business and that is why I'm sharing my insights read more

No salsa offered with quesadilla. For item that cost maybe $2 to make. This is a walk up counter, you order and they serve up. Where is the overhead costs to charge this much? This place is expensive and the people who work here are beyond rude. I was short two Pennie's and asked if I could just take two bananas off the bananas that I got and she said I had to by the whole thing as is which is not what they do in grocery stores. I literally had 1.69 and the bananas were 1.70 I just wanted like two bananas taken off but instead she made me put the whole thing back. At other stores you're allowed to get as many as you want so for her to make me put the whole thing back is so embarrassing. read more

Always good food here. Try the taquitos. Choose the meat and they'll roll them up right on front of you. The store has a wall full of pastries. You can also get cakes made to order. Around Christmas-time they have tamales. Very tasty especially the one that's made wrapped in a banana leaf and is mole and masa inside. Menu includes two soups and serves tacos and burritos. This location includes a small produce and grocery section. And, the people here are very helpful if you have questions. read more

A Little hidden place behind 7/11 stations with bakery, grocery and food. I the the bakery and burritos and it's tasty.

Really good food but a hit or miss. Even when you order a head you have to wait and most of the times they will still make everyones orders first before your call in and you'll have to wait 20-30 minutes, had this happen to me more then three times. I gave them three starts because a few times they got my order right. I would call and request no beans and certain things on my burrito they still would put everything on it and not put what I requested. Best breakfast I have had in a long time in the City of Oceanside! This was my first visit after the many years living in Oceanside. The 6 dollar egg, ham, and bean burrito I ordered was very flavorful and super fulfilling it jumped started my Saturday; hands down one of the most affordable and authentic Mexican breakfast meals you can have in this city. Partnered with their menudo sopa made for a gold standard to return for more. I also enjoyed the fresh baked pastries and snacks offered in the store. I ordered from this restaurant for delivery and when I got the food, my order was completely wrong! My street tacos should've been one carne asada and two carnitas but was three carne asada instead, my carne asada fries not only looked nothing like the menu description, but included two things I didn't want, sour cream and guacamole (guacamole wasn't included on the menu description) with no pico in sight. The best mangos and watermelon in the area! The cashier is a sweetheart I've went in 5 times within the past 3 weeks and she's NEVER had an attitude. She laughs as I add the extra gummy candies at the register and we joked about the money transfer phone giving matrix vibes :) Even when asking what a fruit was and how it could be prepared she answered from across the market without a problem. I haven't bought anything from the butcher or produce section yet, but I've had a few sweets from the bakery and a California burrito. The tortillas for the burrito are freshly prepared, and the burrito (about $6) is dressed in front of you, Subway style - with the cook asking what condiments you'd like. The meat is tender, and the burrito is enough for two meals. One wall is lined with good from the bakery, including bread rolls and little pastries. All descriptions are in Spanish - I don't know what I had, but it was good! At about $0.50-$1.25 per item, the prices can't be beat. read more

AMAZING FIND. Once again, I went to Yelp to look for delicious Mexican food and I was steered in the right direction. This adorable location is a bakery, market and food/restaurant take-out combined. I walked in and immediately smelled all the fresh pastries - from donuts to cakes to muffin to classic Mexican pastries. They have it all! After drooling over the sweets, I ordered my tacos. I highly recommend the chicken tacos - so tender, fresh and tasty. They ask you what you want on it so you can add whatever traditional topping you want. The place is a market so it's a little different than the typical taco shop I'm used to. A lot of the signage was in Spanish leaving me at a little disadvantage since I don't speak Spanish, but I know enough to get by. Was going to call my order in, but didn't want to miscommunicate it, so decided to just order and shop once I got there. I like to get the ultimate breakfast burrito which usually includes potatoes, ham, bacon, cheese, ect. I was really hoping for a sign that I could point to that listed breakfast burrito options but didn't see anything like that, so I listed the items out when I ordered. They also asked if I wanted salsa (red or green) and if I wanted beans. Got the burritos home and was a big hit! Nice and big. Everything cooked wonderfully. A little less salty than most places, tortilla I'm pretty sure was homemade. Cheese was melted, nothing burnt and chili was quality, not watered down, a little more on the sour side. Hubby told me, I think we found our new breakfast burrito spot. I just love spots like this where people take pride in the quality of there food. Sunday morning, came here for a breakfast burrito chorizo, eggs and potatoes. I decided to try their pork tamal as well. I took away one star for service because they took forever to get me checked out. I took another star away because when I got back home to eat my burrito and discovered there was no salsa in the bag, I speak Spanish, I look Mexican it was not a matter of language barrier but lack of customer service skills. While there, I heard two ladies behind the kitchen area ask other customers what type of salsa they wanted. I guess not me...The quality of food was outstanding, tamal tasted good and it was moist with plenty of pork meat. Not sure if I will eat there again. Their soup, menudo, tamales (except chicken), buche, barbacoa, birria, tortas, burritos, I've had basically everything and man this place is off the chain.
