I had a La Parisienne boulangerie nearby to the hotel I was staying at and stopping by in the morning for an espresso and baked goods became a ritual. Walking in, the atmosphere and chatter of employees and customers immerses you into a local experience. You run into parents stopping by to buy bread for the family, workers coming in for a quick bite or for lunch, and locals just grabbing a shot of espresso. Next, you'll be hit by the smell of fresh baked goods. From breads like baguettes and sourdough to buttery creations like croissants and pain au chocolats. The smell wafts it way across the store and directly into your senses. Due to their aforementioned proximity to my hotel, I ended up grabbing several different items from here and I'm happy to report they were all deliciously made with love. The bakers were very friendly and extremely accommodating of my weak grasp of the French language as I often used phrases with broken grammar and English. Overall, La Parisienne was a delicious and charming experience.

I've been to this bakery over the years, and the quality has definitely gone down. (See the photo of the messed up pain au raisin--was also soggy). There are burnt viennoiseries that haven't been pulled off the shelf/counter. They must think tourists are dumb and will eat anything.

Oo la la! Where to go for the famous baguette that won awards and accolades across Paris? Our recent visit had us walking and exploring various arondissments but famished for a snack so a quick Yelp search brought up this location so we stopped in. This location is not as large as the other store located along the main Saint-Germain vein but the breads and pastries are still top notch. There is something about bread in Europe that surpasses breads in the US. Maybe it is the water or the type of flour but baguettes here are untouchable. The textures, chewiness, and crust crunch that cannot be duplicated and their croissants? OMG. Just layers and layers of unadultered buttery assault on all six senses. They also have a great selection of baguette sandwiches (mostly ham and Brie), pastries and decadent little cakes, and on the other end, beautiful and dense stone hearth round breads and of course, baguettes and loafs of amazing rising techniques. Staff here are quick so be ready with your order but friendly as well. Remember to say hello (bonjour) and afterwards, thank you (merci). Common etiquette will grant you exemptions from other typical rude tourists! Seating is only counter space available along a window but when I France, do as the locals do and sample the amazingness that is so Paris.

Loved this place! We came on a Thursday morning around 8am and were quickly served. We tried their delicious ham and cheese sandwich, pan au chocolate, and capuchino. Everything was delicious! We were able to eat inside with our health passes. Staff was very friendly and one of them spoke English. Will come again to try their award winning breads.

Are you kidding me? The croques here are like grilled cheese on steroids. It's bread with melted cheese on top and in between the bread is ham. Sounds simple, but the caramelized cheese on top is just amazing. If you love cheese, this place is a must-try. We also got a baguette with tomatoes, cheese, olive oil, and sun dried tomatoes but it was only okay in our opinion. The fillings tasted fresh, but it wasn't very flavorful. We've noticed that the baguettes in France are typically super crunchy so prepare the roof of your mouth for being in a little pain. Otherwise, the bread is nice and crunchy on the outside while being airy on the inside.

Best croissant ever. Loved their baggett as well. Excellent customer service. They even had a small seating area for about 4 people to sit and eat. Pastries and sandwiches ready to eat. The croissant had the perfect crisp on the outside and the perfect fluff on the inside. There was no extra dough as it was nothing but fluffy and crispy goodness. We loved this place so much, we visited their other location that was actually closer to our hotel.

One of the best croissant on my trip to Paris! Definitely recommend hitting up this spot.

If you are near this area I recommend you to buy lunch here and eat it at Jardin du Luxembourg if the weather is nice. They have "combos" with one baguette/quiche/salad+ drink+ dessert for less than 10 euros. The vegetarian quiche, the chocolate eclair and a tart with berries were delicious! In fact, everything look great so I would love to go back one day.

All three desserts tasted different and were all delicious. The berry tart was sweet and tart and just excellent.

Another great boulangerie. This place is slightly larger than the one down the street with a…read moreslightly wider selection. It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.
