(Pre-covid time review) Pretty fun experience picking out different seafood on the table in the front when you enter the place. They'll weight the items once you pick them out and you can pay before you go into the seating/dining area. The plate gets passed to the kitchen to have everything cooked for you right there. I recommend trying the clams, razor clams, and octopus! The seafood tasted super fresh and all of the items were really yummy. They cook it pretty fast once your order is in. They'll call out your table number when the food is ready for pickup by the window in the back. Cool experience and one of my favorite meals in Barcelona last time I visited.

This is probably my favorite place in Barcelona because the seafood is so dang fresh!! It's also such a fun unique way of dining because you pick all the fresh seafood you want and tell them how you want it cooked. The shrimp here is so good. They just boil it and it tastes so naturally sweet. They do charge for bread and salad though. As well as the sauces. I guess cocktail sauce is not a thing in Spain tho. Love their entire operation where you get a buzzer and you pick up your food at the counter as it's ready. When you leave, you bring all your dishes and trash to the adjacent counter. Everything is reasonably priced as well.

As they all say, awesome. They have fresh seafood totally down. Pick it off the ice, all fresh, some still moving. Tell em fried/grilled/steamed. Get your ticket, beverage, bread and sauces. Go sit down. Wait for your number to be called, go up to window 1, get it freshly prepared. They'll cross the item off your ticket. Go eat. When all your items have been delivered and consumed, return your dishes to the dish window. Awesome place. There are a couple of locations. I'll be back

I fell in love with this place the moment I saw the seafood options and the price ! I came here a few times in my 3 days stay in Barcelona. This place is a must if you really enjoy seafood. A vast selection and go there early because there is a line before they open. It's either go their early where everything is still available or go there an hour or two before they close and almost everything is sold out. Their seafood is so fresh with very fair prices. The price they weigh you on includes their tax and labor fees to cook them. Their system is simple: 1) choose your seafood, weigh it 2) order a drink or bread at your next counter and pay for everything 3) grab a table and wait for your number to be called

We came to Barcelona as a group of 13 thinking we wouldn't fit into any restaurants, but this space was recommended by a friend and definitely had room for us and many more. Ordering was a bit confusing but basically there's a fresh showcase upon walking in w all sorts of seafood so you choose what you want (or ask for recommendations like us) and they cook it for you their way! After choosing you then order whatever drinks and sauces and then pay at the register prior to eating. We had the: Fried calamari: 5/5 Herb grilled razor clams: 5/5 Steamed mussels: 5/5 Octopus: 4/5 Jumbo shrimp: 5/5 Seafood soup: 3/5 Salad: 4/5 I'm a huge seafood lover and this place was so affordable and fresh. We loved it so much we even went back up and ordered a second round of the razor clams, mussels, and fried calamari. With three bottles of wine and stuffed stomachs our bill ended up only being around $27 a person so it was both delicious and a good deal. I'll be thinking of their food until my next visit!

Line out the door before the 8pm opening. Choose your own seafood and then they cook it for you! We liked the razor clams, scallops, big shrimp with heads. Good value. Highly recommended!

I can't. I just can't. Remembering this place is torture since there's no place like this where I live. It gets busy at this location since it's in the middle of everything. But it's totally worth it. We came to this location twice because we knew this place was a total gem. Also it's ginormous so the lines go quickly. Pick/point to the seafood you'd like, for most items they'll ask if you'd like it steamed/grilled/fried. Get a nice balance of all three cooking methods for maximum consumption.

This local chain was recommended by the front desk staff, when I asked for a "local place". They have fresh/live seafood laid out up front, which you order by the kilo, tell them how you want it cooked, then get your drinks, and go find a table while your food cooks. They call your number, and you pick up your food. Every thing was simply prepared, just steamed, or grilled, with salt and pepper and/ or chimicuri sauce. We had manilla and razor clams grilled with chimicuri, grilled monk fish, grilled giant prawns, and deep friend baby white fish. Since most the seafood were just alive, it was super fresh. The clams were particular ly sweet and tender. Oh, the place was full of 90 percent locals too.

this was such a fun dining experience i would highly recommend. all of the seafood is incredibly fresh, literally on ice for u to choose from. they weigh everything in front of u and cook it to order the way u want. they also have variety of sauces on the side for an extra euro (we chose the salsa rosa especial) and ofc, we couldn't leave spain w/o having sangria one last time

La Paradeta was one of the restaurants I was most excited to visit after reading reviews online. I love the concept of picking out your seafood right there in the restaurant, and having them cook it for you. We arrived a few minutes after it opened and there was already a line. We only had to wait about 15-20 minutes though. Afterwards you pick your drinks, sauces, then find your table. The kitchen will call your number when your items are prepared. We got some lobster, crab, octopus, snails (I think?), and scallops. All of the items were cooked perfectly. I also appreciate that they left all the guts and extras in the crab, lobster, and scallops...something you definitely don't see in America. La Paradeta is an easy five stars for me! I would definitely come back here if I was in Barcelona again!!

Grilled cuttle fish, so tender. Yummm

Fresh Mediterranean seafood on ice. Ordered and grilled or fried to perfection. Loved the parsley and olive oil sauces. Calamari, clams were all done so well.

Daily fresh seafoods. Plenty of selections and sell in front of display counter, prices/€/kg on each item like in traditional market. They cook for you inside back the kitchen and self serve on your table.

Great meal. All this for under $30 US, including a glass of white wine and a bottle of still water. All fish incredibly fresh, simply prepared, and delicious. They save on overhead by having you pick up your food from the kitchen, and busing your own table--a great concept.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We arrived just after lunch opening and were the first customers. The guy at the counter was... efficient. He simply told us to pick what we wanted, tossed it in a bin, and that was that. No explanation of pricing or preparation methods. When we asked how they'd cook it, he casually offered "fried or grilled." Obviously, we chose grilled--why fry fresh seafood? We picked two giant prawns, two octopus tentacles, and two fish (since hubby can't have shellfish). He asked if we wanted salad or soup--reviews hyped the soup, so we went with that. Then he handed us a receipt, told us we were order #3, and sent us to the bar. At the bar, we ordered two sangrias and a water. The bartender asked if we wanted bread and sauce. Sure, why not? We assumed they were included. Surprise! The tiny baguettes cost €0.50 each, and the mystery "house sauce" (a questionable mix of thousand island and horseradish) was an extra €1. We only realized the charge when we saw the total: €73. Oh well, too late now. Then came the food pickup experience--chaotic, to say the least. The server practically barked at us to bring our receipt, aggressively crossed off items, and handed over soups and octopus, crammed onto a greasy tray. No effort at plating, just food haphazardly dumped onto plates. The second round--grilled fish and prawns--was more of the same. Now, the verdict: Soup (5/5) - Delicious and reasonably priced at €6. Would order again. Bread & Sauce (0/5) - Not free, not worth it. Hard pass. Octopus (€31.80 for two tentacles, 1/5) - Overpriced, greasy, and drowning in molten salt. Basically, eating a sodium bomb. Grilled Fish (€10.50 & €8.50, 3/5) - Decent, but unnecessarily oily. Grilled Prawns (€5.59, 0/5) - Mushy, not fresh, and borderline inedible. Final thoughts? Not worth it. With so many incredible food spots in Barcelona, why waste your meal quota here? If you want quality seafood, go to Cervecería Catalana--we spent €5 more, but a meal a thousand times better. Spend wisely and eat like a king.

Two of us picked 5 types of seafood, a salad and a fish soup. We tried the sangria as our drinks. Everything is beyond fantastic! We would highly recommend this seafood gem to all our friends. Here are a few tips for the first timers: 1) The workers at the order area don't understand English well. We pointed at the seafood for ordering. 2) Recommended to have the fish soup over mixed salad as an appetizer. The fish soup is made with lots of fish and ginger; and it carries so much flavor. 3) The mussels are a must-have and are so cheap (Under 10 Euros for huge portions). It's recommended to prepare in two ways: white wine and tomato sauce 4) The La Paradeta sauce (I e. A green basil sauce) goes very well with shrimps and razor clams. 5) The fried calamari was so delicious and perfectly paired with drizzles of lemon juice. Yet, it's so expensive (24 Euros for a very small portion). It doesn't feel as worth it as compared to something like lobsters (29 Euros/single lobster). 6) I noticed many people ordered a bottle of wine instead of Sangria. Will need to try next time!
