This was our best meal of our two week trip! The fish, the soup, the oysters, the squid, mussels... Each was better than the last. You order at the counter pick out what you want, they weight it out and then they call your number as items are done so our oysters were out quick, fish took the longest of course to cook, got some bread, sangria, beer... This meal was amazing. We tried everything, couldn't walk or breath, and still spend under $100 for the freshest, amazing cooked to perfection, seafood. It is walking distance from Sagrada Familia. We had a 3pm reservation. The line never stopped the whole time we were there. I want to go back to Barcelona just to eat here! Casual atmosphere, no table service, you order at the counter and go up to the window each time they call your number. There were so many more things we wanted to try but just didn't have any room! Come hungry!

Really really fresh seafood! We got the mussels, gambo, octopus, scallops, and salad. All of it was delicious, big servings. I left with a full stomach and happy heart. Highly recommend the scallops and octopus!! Around 1/3 of the mussels were empty, guessing its because they fell out during the cooking process. Relaxing atmosphere, not too formal so perfect for families with children (or families with chatterboxes like mine ). 10/10 would dine again!

You come here for the view - make a reservation get a nice drink and enjoy. This is on top of the hotel and they will stop you at the front desk if you don't have a reservation.

The perfect place to rest your feet and eat yourself into a pleasant food coma after a morning of exploring the Sagrada Familia. We went on a Friday at around 1:30PM and there were only 2 groups in front of us in line. We first chose the seafood and amounts that we wanted from the counter, and then they cooked everything for us. There were two dishes where we had a choice in how it was cooked: squid grilled or fried (I.e. calamari), and mussels steamed or with tomato sauce. We just went with what they recommended (grilled, tomato sauce). Everything was delicious and very fresh. My favorite was the shrimp, which had a nice sweetness. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I had during this trip to Barcelona.

Selfish for shellfish!!! This is definitely one of my favorite place in Barelona. It is a city full of delicious eats, tapas and seafood. But this place knows seafood. Casual atmosphere- yes! Fresh seafood - most alive and kicking/swimming till you order? Check check! Great wine- check! Amazing food? Definitely check! You come in, you pick your seafood, you tell them how to prepare, and viola! Take your number, find a table and wait for all the magical sea creatures to be delivered to your table. What's not to love? Amazing! Tasty! Delicious! Aye! Razor clams~ I got them grilled! Plancha! With green sauce. Delicious, spicy and very fresh. Fresh is the key ingredient here. Seas snails~aka bocconi. simple, fast ,boiled! Salty little slugs. Baby calms/ baby pctopus~ ordered a pound of each. It was probably the smallest portion out of the rest due to shrinkage but octopis are yum. Giant grilled prawns - all charred? Plancha? The best! This is a must order and I do order it on every visit. its simply amazing. Also had a bottle or two of their wine. Spanish wines to be exact. One red and one white per their recommendations. it was great. The hardest part is being in line and picking/deciding what you want to order. Because there are a ton of choices. Also how you want your seafood prepared. Maybe look at the menu ahead to prepare if you cant decide on the spot. Overall, it's easy, casual and super delicious! I love this spot. They have a few locations but I like this one and one other the most.

Want a quick, no frills, fresh seafood meal? This is your spot. Quick tip though, lines get LONG so get here early. We arrived 20 minutes before opening and there was already a line forming. The concept is simple: pick your own seafood (by weight or pieces), choose how you'd like it cooked (for the most part, it's grilled or fried), get yourself a table, and your number will be called as your food is done cooking. We ordered so much and it came out to only about 25 euros a person with a couple drinks... Shocking to be honest. Definitely would come back!

I HATE THIS PLACE BECAUSE I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! Ever since I've been here for my last 4 trips to Barcelona, I am no longer able to enjoy my seafood in Boston anymore. The squid and octopus and clams in Boston tastes like rubber band in comparison to the seafood served here. I cant wait to return to Barcelona just to stuff myself with the simple but wonderful seafood here.

A new lunch favorite. Fresh quick. Great selection. Decent wine and beer menu. No nonsense owner. Pick your food, get it weighed, sit down and wait for your number to be called to pick up at window. Delicious and fresh.

This place was one of our best food decisions in Barcelona. Here, there are tons of fresh (and often live) seafood that you can purchase by the gram/kilogram. And the restaurants cooks it for you! This includes shrimp, squid, and lobster (amongst tons of other choices). They also have wine- so you get good food and sips. We had a feast! All at great prices. Ironically, we met someone from our hometown while here (she could hear our southern accents through our broken Spanish, and asked for help placing her order, as she spoke no Spanish). So, don't feel intimidated when ordering- ask for help if you need to. And maybe you'll make a friend in the process.

Dinner opens from 8:00pm to 1:00am midnight. And you wonder why :) We came in 8:30pm and the store was already 80% full. You shop the seafood on ice, get the ticket number. pay at the cashier, and grab a seat and wait for your number to be called. It's that easy! Raw oysters are not recommended at this quick cook place, but the jumbo shrimps and small clams are highly recommended. Very fresh and sweet seafood here. Waiting line was extended to outdoor by 9:45pm Now I understand why they're open till 1:00 midnight! Store atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. If I have more time to spend in Barcelona, I would visit here again.

Delicious seafood! Super fresh and you get to pick your seafood before they cook it. Very reasonable prices, I had razor clams, a scallop, a huge bowl of mussels and a drink for under $25(USD)!!! Mussels are definitely a must here!

    Little white fish

Food is good and fresh, since our last visit in 2017 the price has really gone up. It's a treat but at over 100 euros I think I'll do Paella and Tapas

If you're a seafood lover, this is the place to go. The seafood doesn't get any fresher than this unless you are on a boat cooking as you catch the seafood. I just love how simple the whole concept is. Pick the quantity and type of seafood that you see, how you want it to be prepared, pay and wait for your food. We picked out a bunch - calamar, razor clams, octopus, prawns, flounder, little necks, and a salad to balance it out. We had everything grilled and drizzled with olive oil-garlic- parsley sauce. Yummmm. Let the freshness and flavor of seafood shine through, and enhanced by the subtle olive oil herby sauce. We had the calamar fried and it was so tender with slight crisp. I wish we had a place like this near us!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We arrived just after lunch opening and were the first customers. The guy at the counter was... efficient. He simply told us to pick what we wanted, tossed it in a bin, and that was that. No explanation of pricing or preparation methods. When we asked how they'd cook it, he casually offered "fried or grilled." Obviously, we chose grilled--why fry fresh seafood? We picked two giant prawns, two octopus tentacles, and two fish (since hubby can't have shellfish). He asked if we wanted salad or soup--reviews hyped the soup, so we went with that. Then he handed us a receipt, told us we were order #3, and sent us to the bar. At the bar, we ordered two sangrias and a water. The bartender asked if we wanted bread and sauce. Sure, why not? We assumed they were included. Surprise! The tiny baguettes cost €0.50 each, and the mystery "house sauce" (a questionable mix of thousand island and horseradish) was an extra €1. We only realized the charge when we saw the total: €73. Oh well, too late now. Then came the food pickup experience--chaotic, to say the least. The server practically barked at us to bring our receipt, aggressively crossed off items, and handed over soups and octopus, crammed onto a greasy tray. No effort at plating, just food haphazardly dumped onto plates. The second round--grilled fish and prawns--was more of the same. Now, the verdict: Soup (5/5) - Delicious and reasonably priced at €6. Would order again. Bread & Sauce (0/5) - Not free, not worth it. Hard pass. Octopus (€31.80 for two tentacles, 1/5) - Overpriced, greasy, and drowning in molten salt. Basically, eating a sodium bomb. Grilled Fish (€10.50 & €8.50, 3/5) - Decent, but unnecessarily oily. Grilled Prawns (€5.59, 0/5) - Mushy, not fresh, and borderline inedible. Final thoughts? Not worth it. With so many incredible food spots in Barcelona, why waste your meal quota here? If you want quality seafood, go to Cervecería Catalana--we spent €5 more, but a meal a thousand times better. Spend wisely and eat like a king.
