I've been a regular customer at La Parada 2 for a while, but unfortunately, the quality has really gone downhill. The rotisserie chicken, which used to be flavorful and juicy, is now bland and dry. The rice is always served lukewarm, and the beans are watered down with no flavor. It's clear that the overall food quality has significantly dropped. Additionally, the way they package the food is disappointing. They place the salad on top of the hot food container, causing the salad to wilt and become warm by the time I get home. This is unacceptable for something that should be fresh. What makes it worse is the customer service. The women behind the counter are incredibly rude, with no greeting or thanks, and they leave your change on the counter without handing it directly, which feels very dismissive. It's a shame to see this place fall apart, but after my recent experiences, I'm done. This establishment needs new management--goodbye, I'm never ordering here again. The smell was what brought me in to the place, I believe, their rotisserie chicken. So I got a lunch with the chicken, comes with rice (white or yellow), and beans. I thought the yellow rice had a good consistency with a little bit of a flavor. Beans were cooked to a good consistency as well, I don't think it's flavored. Chicken was not bad, the inside was not dry, good flavor, just the right amount. I personally liked the skin, a little crispy, not too hard, tiny parts were a little charred. Meh, nothing special. I grew up in Sunset Park all my life and thus loved Latin food growing up. My family has been to the original La Parada on 4th ave in the Greenwood Cemetery area, and have always loved their rotisserie chicken and plantains, so I figured this new place would prove to be just as good. We had two of the lunch specials - white rice, beans, maduros and 1/4th rotisserie chicken. The rice was a hit hard for our liking (not dry, but that odd shiny look to it, as if it had been waiting around for a while), the beans were just ok (not stewed enough over the pot; still retained a bit of hardness), the maduros a bit too hard, and the chicken a bit too dry for my liking. Everything was just standard and meh - but nothing really stood out to me. However, the one thing I will say is, the chicken had better flavour than some I've had in the area, but all the flavour in the world can't make up for dry chicken. P.S. Pro-tip - if you end up getting chicken from here, ask for their sauce - it's a lime, herb, olive oil dressing that we couldn't resist dipping our meat in. read more

My sister decided to try this place rather than go to her usual spot, down the block, across the street. She bought rotisserie chicken and some pernil. It was pretty good.. One day I decide to get some soup from this place. I was feeling sick and did not feel well enough to make my own chicken soup. I ordered two quart containers of soup, one for me and one for my sis. I saw that she had to lift the hotel pan in order to scoop out the soup from the bottom. To me it meant that it was a big seller. It also came with a small container of rice. When I got home, I saw it was mostly liquids and not much chicken, noodles or veggies. I paid $14 for two quarts of liquids, albeit tasty, it was not worth it. Contrary to many reviews about La Parada 2, I had an excellent Saturday lunch experience here. The lunch special is $6 which includes 1/4 chicken, rice, beans, and plantains. They do not skimp on the food and you will be plenty full afterwards. We had no issue ordering and our food was ready right away. The chicken has great flavor but was a bit on the dry side. The flavor of the dipping sauce was also excellent. It tasted like oil, lime, and parsley. There may have been garlic as well. If I could figure it out I would start making it at home for myself. If you are dining in, just ask for the big bottle of it. It was very tangy and certainly complimented the food well. The white rice was a little on the sticky side. The beans were good and the plantains were average. The food you get for the price you pay is a good deal for the lunch special and the flavors of everything were among my favorite of the local rotisserie restaurants. However, if I were ordering an entire chicken, there are other places that do it more succulently and for less money. read more

Came in here because my other local rotisserie chicken place burned down. This place was new and didn't have any reviews yet, so I deciced to try it out. I ordered take out. The service was fine. They don't speak english, but there was no problem placing an order. I was in and out in under 2 minutes. Maybe I came in at the wrong time, but I wasn't impressed. The flavors were there, but the chicken was very overcooked and dry. It's not that hard of a dish to make, so it's unfortunate that it was not done right. They do cut a fresh avocado for each salad, but that's not enough to make up for the chicken. Someone else may have more luck, but I won't be returning here. read more

When you're hungry and need a quick bite to eat you begin to let your sense of smell lead the way. In this case my sense of smell failed. I came in here after smelling what seemed like a good spot to eat. I order pernil (pork shoulder) and white rice to go. I live 20 mins away from this spot and upon arriving to my apt I was ready to chow it down. As soon as I opened the foil container I got a whiff of something that smelled like burnt chemicals. I come here for lunch a lot. It is a little hole in the wall place that serves really great food. Their lunch specials are awesome, $5.50 for a huge pile of fluffy rice with beans and your choice of meat! The rotisserie chicken is moist and flavorful, all that's missing is the green sauce from pio pio. The pernil is very good too, ask the girls to give you the crispy skin! SOOO good. This is by far the best rotisserie chicken in sunset park. Its moist and not heavy in seasoning. It is finger licking good. There pernil is very so good. There prices you cant beat it. A family of 4 can eat with $ 25 ordering out and still have food left over. read more

I have had the pleasure of this lunch menu several times. Marvin and the ladies always give a warm welcome every single time. There are daily specials. All the food has great flavor profile. I've had the pepper steak, the salmon, the ribs, the baked chicken and the rotisserie chicken. Recently I have had home made macaroni salad. Its a great home made recipe with just enough of each ingredient. Kudos. My favorite is the rotisserie chicken which has a garlic sauce which compliments so well.
