Where do I begin? I ordered a small La Nova Classic Pizza, and a single order of all flats hot Wings (extra crispy and extra saucy). Got to La Nova's west side Buffalo location cation some 45 minutes later, and no order had been processed! Wake up So, I placed the order, and ran a few errands while I waited. Picked up the order 30 minutes later, got it home, and that's where my disappointment heightened. The pizza had globs of mozzarella cheese on it, and tasted doughy, as though its cooking had been rushed. I have never had a more disgusting tasting pizza pie, in my life. Moreover, the wings, though crispy, were not extra saucy, they were dry. I tried to contact a manager, to complain, but was placed on extended hold periods twice, and none arrived to the phone. Love me some greasy pizza. I usually get the family pack and eat it for days but this time I went with the mini pack. The mini pack has a large cheese + 1 topping pizza and 20 wings (boneless or bone-in). The family pack has a large cheese + 1 topping pizza and a bucket of wings. I wished there was a pack in between because 20 wings is never enough and 50 is too much. The packs are pricy. You'll be paying 60 dollars for the mini pack and $100 for the family pack. The pizza was cooked to perfection. Usually with La Nova, I like their wings better than their pizza but today and last few times, their pizza has been gettting better while their wings have been getting worse. I went with bbq pit style. It wasn't as crispy or charcoal-ly as I was hoping. Blue cheese is always lit and if you get ranch, you need to get your taste buds checked out. Waiting area is simple. Just a couple of seats by the window. They have enough space for 10 people ish. Service was quick and effortless. They are always working hard and so it was a quick and pleasant exchange. Parking is decent. They are in a mini plaza and have 20 or so spots between them and the other few businesses there. They have a ton of other things on their menu including chicken finger subs, fries, salads, tacos etc. Never had of those. I strictly go for the pizza. So why only 3 stars? I think their pizza is getting better and I was extremely happy with my last order but their wings are starting to get bad. I've been disappointed the last 3 times and so I'm starting to think that maybe my love affair with La Nova might need to end. Or if you want a slice and a couple of wings, or if its your first time to Buffalo and want a place to get chicken and pizza, this might be a the place to go. Wrong pizza was delivered, when I called they seemed like "how dare I make a complaint". Seemed like they were reluctant to fix the problem. We eventually came up with a solution. Pizza is one of the best in town. I'd recommend asking for it "well done" but otherwise, highly recommended. BTW - La Nova has a pretty low swore here on Yelp but I noticed that most of the complaints are about messing up orders or delivery issues. Ordered their biggest pizza a Big Joe 30" for a big party & it fed everyone! It was actually super delicious & made perfectly. The pizza was even delicious when it was cold. The only issue we ran into was figuring out how to get the pizza inside the car, so make sure you have a big SUV with seats that go down otherwise you'll be stuck. I grew up across from the W Ferry location in the 80s and having lived in cities around the world I can say I always compare restaurants to those found in Western NY. IMO, La Nova on W. Ferry still to this day has the number one BBQ wings found anywhere and decent hot wings as well (but I prefer Duffs). Their classic Buffalo style pizza is very good but I prefer "Just Pizza". La Nova subs (particularly their Turkey sub) are also very good but be sure to tell them what condiments you want on it or you may get a dry sub which is not good eats. Their beef soft tacos are also surprisingly good for a pizzeria but only if the meat is hot when you eat it. (Don't let it get cold or let the lettuce get soggy sitting with the hot meat). The Williamsville location is a very sorry excuse for a restaurant bearing the La Nova name, very inconsistent quality, lack of attention to detail. Drive the extra 20m to the W Ferry location on the West Side, it's well worth it. read more

You typically can not go wrong ordering from this place. They always have been consistently good with decent Buffalo style pizza. Very convenient location right off of I-290 makes it easy to order and pick up food on the way home or heading out. I've never had an issue with service, quality or my order. It was one of those late night moments when the unstoppable craving for pizza really hits hard. I wasn't thinking clearly and my partner was in the "your wish is my command" mode. Unfortunately, the place where I wanted a NY style slice had already closed. La Nova was on our way and was not only open, but also extremely busy. They offer slices which is what we wanted. Our cheese and pepperoni slices were big, covered with a massive amount of cheese and plenty of grease. It scared me a little, but that's what I wanted. Maybe not exactly, but it's still pizza, right? I was wrong. Eating it, I felt like I was biting into a loaf of bread with bacon grease. The sauce was also vividly sweet which didn't help. I was never a fan of La Nova. After last night, I wouldn't go back for more. On the other hand, my partner enjoyed it. He prefers Buffalo style pizza like this. By definition Buffalo style is "a thick, airy undercarriage with little structural integrity that's topped by sweet sauce and enough cheese to guarantee a stringy pull". Let's not forget about Cup-and-Char pepperoni. La Nova must be a hungry crowd pleaser. On Friday and Saturday, it's open until midnight, which is very convenient. read more

When I lived in Williamsville, I used to frequent La Nova on Saturday nights for a small pie and since I've moved out of the area, I went to new places that were closer and easier to get to. I read a few recent reviews and was worried that their quality had gone done while the prices went up. While yes, their prices did go up, like almost every other pizza shop's prices in the area did, their quality did not go down. It was the Saturday before Easter Sunday 2022 and I was looking for just a couple slices for a later dinner. I was going to go to another pizza place near UB that serves NY-style slices, but they had to close for the weekend due to short staff. The last time I came to La Nova for slices, I was put off, albeit I do like their pizza as I used to order a small pizza on Saturdays from here quite a bit. It was almost 6:45pm and so I decided to give La Nova's slices another chance. I was able to grab a spot right in front of their entrance and walked in and started browsing their slices. Almost immediately, a courteous young woman came up and asked me what I would like to order. I picked out two slices, that she boxed up without heating, per my request, and cashed me out in less than four minutes. There was another woman working next to her and they were both very friendly and nice! For the slices, I got a chicken finger slice on sesame seed crust and a Mr. Food slice on their regular crust. These slices were heavy, dense with toppings but the dough held it all together without a problem! I warmed them up in my oven, at 400 degrees, for about 10 minutes and pulled them out to the perfect temperature! Both slices were phenomenal! I've always thought of La Nova's chicken finger pizza as one of the better ones in Buffalo and that sentiment remains true after that slice. The Mr. Food slice was one that I don't think I've ordered before, because of the fresh garlic (a small pizza with all that fresh garlic would've been a bit rough for my breath... haha), but was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too pungent. I loved the toppings and appreciated the swap out of the sweet peppers for jalapeños. Their crust is more Buffalo-style but still not the doughiest I've had in WNY, and was also cooked perfectly with the right amount of chew to it while keeping the crust crispy but not burnt/charred. Their red sauce is on the sweeter side too, very much in-line with Buffalo, which I enjoy, though I thought the garlic added a slight spice, or extra punch to it, so that was really nice! I paid less than $10 for two good-size, and loaded, slices that filled me up without sending me over. La Nova has a fairly big reputation in Buffalo with many liking them, and just as many not liking them. While I hate to see prices increase, I can't be too upset since pretty much every restaurant around has had to do the same. I've not really had a bad experience with La Nova and this last experience reaffirmed them being on my list of favorite pizza shops around Buffalo! read more

This place hasn't changed. I keep hoping they'll improve but the carry out service is still substandard. I came in tonight to pick up dinner for my husband and myself. He likes their tacos and I wanted some pizza-by-the-slice. Upon arrival there was a line almost out the door. It's a Saturday at nearly 6pm so no surprise there. I sat in the car and watched to see if it was just a little rush and it might make sense to just wait for the line to go down, or if it was going to be a steady stream of customers. Fortunately I didn't have to wait long. The line died down so I went in. The pizza case was almost empty. All that was left were a few slices of cheese, a few slices of pepperoni, and a white pizza with one piece missing. None of it looked enticing but I figured the line *was* just pretty long and who knows how long they've been this busy so it's not unimaginable as to why they were low on pizza. So I decided to wait and see what comes out, which had to have been coming soon. So I waited. And waited. And waited a little longer. You'd think management would anticipate a dinner rush at 6pm on a Saturday night, but that's just me. So I say down at the counter and started playing on my phone to pass the time. While I was waiting, a woman came in to pick up an order she said she'd phoned in about 25 minutes earlier. Problem was they didn't have her order ready. In fact they didn't have the order at all. They didn't even know what it was supposed to be for. I couldn't quite hear everything that was going on but somehow they were aware they'd lost a phone order about a half an hour prior but they didn't know whose, so they weren't able to contact her. They retook her order and she angrily went out to her car to wait. Before I knew it half an hour had gone by and they finally started putting more out. A new 1/2 Pepperoni 1/2 Cheese, a Chicken & Broccoli, a Chicken Finger, a Super Steak, and a Pepperoni & Sausage. So I got up from my seat at the window and went over to the counter. I went straight to the pizza case instead of the register because the cashier seemed confused about everything and I didn't have much confidence in her. The young woman at the pizza case took my order for a large taco, hot, with double meat, no lettuce, no tomato. She said once it's done I could choose my slices. While I was waiting for the taco to be done a man came in with an order he'd picked up a few minutes prior. He asked to speak with a manager. Apparently he'd ordered pierogis and received jalapeño poppers instead. The manager offered to make the pierogis, and the man politely declined. He said he'd just prefer his money back as he had to go and couldn't wait. The manager became insistent and said he could drop them (in the fryer, I'm guessing) right now if the man could just give him 10 minutes and they'd be right up. The man responded that he'd already given him 20 minutes and didn't want to wait any more. The manager went on to insist again. He said he'd give the man back his money if that's what he really wanted but again, if the man could just give him a few minutes they'd be right up. In frustration the man relented and agreed to wait. My taco came up, and the young woman who took my order waved me over. I selected the slices I wanted and she boxed them up. I signed the credit card slip, pointed to it and asked "who gets this tip?" and she replied "I do" so I filled in a nice one. As I turned to leave, I stopped next to the man who was waiting for his pierogis and with my hands full of my order I asked, "Did that manager even offer you a discount for all the trouble?" Nope. The man just shook his head. I shook my head and he said "Hey, it happens." and I replied, "Yes it does-- but so does good customer service, but not here." and he raised his eyebrows and pointed at me as if to say, "You got it". In fairness I left before the mans replacement order came out so I don't know if he got a discount or not. I hope he did. It seems pretty clear to me that this place has poor management. The service is consistently disappointing. That speaks to training, which is the job of management. It's about time for you to get it together, La Nova. I'd be in there a lot more if I wasn't so consistently disappointed. read more

Came here on a recommendation by a friend. There are two locations for la nova - one that is dine in and one that's delivery with a few seats around. This location is not a dine in location. There are a few seats against the window if you'd like to sit and eat or two picnic tables outside. When you first come in, you get a hit of amazing pizza aromas. The menu is a takeout menu, double sided. Don't be overwhelmed. There's a lot of things on the menu, but remember you're at a pizzeria... get some pizza! I ordered the grandma t's, small... not thinking how large the small is. You can comfortably feed 2-3 with a small pizza. They don't cut it up in slices but squares. The grandma t has Italian sausage, banana peppers, tomato sauce and very little cheese. The dough is good. I would have preferred it to be saucier and cheesier, but it may have just been me overlooking the actual menu. A friend ordered the meat lovers and it was cheesy, greasy and saucy... Pizza was alright. I think this is a pizza preference. I prefer to focus on the ingredients on top of the pizza, so my choice of pizza wasn't the best fit for me. I also ordered the bourbon wings. Nice sized wings that looked fried and finished on the grill, topped with tons of sauce. Sweet, sticky and a real good kick to it. I loved the wings. Overall, it was about a 20 min wait to get food. Very very busy place for delivery. Friends thought it was a great place. Just not my preferred pizza joint. People were super nice though! If I could give it one star I would. This is the worst pizza ever and I wonder how they stay in business. The last time I ordered was 4 yrs ago saying I'd never order again. But, it's Sunday and a lot of better options are closed so I thought I'd give them a try. The pizza like in the past is basically raw. Def too much sauce but that's a personally preference. Non of the toppings are cooked thru, onions, pepperoni, you name it, barely touched by heat. In the past, 3 out of 5 times the order would be wrong. At least this time it was right. I start this review by reminding everyone that three stars is an "a-okay" review. This is not a bad review, and I'm not discouraging anyone from going here. I heard recently that the key to knowing if you've had a good food in New York is whether or not you need to take a shower when you're done. I can't say whether or not that is true, but I can say that the pizza here fits the bill. I was thinking about a block away at the Wyndham and looking for something for lunch. La Nova had been recommended by several people, so I decided to walk over and give it a try. They offer Pizza both by the pie and by the slice, and they also have burgers, tacos, wings, and more. Admittedly, it's a strange combination of items on the menu, but this seems to be a pretty popular place to the locals. This place is pretty small on the inside, with just a few bar stools available. for most people, I would assume we should plan on getting it to go unless there's a hidden dining area that I didn't see. They have a display case right up front with all the places that have available for individual sale good as far as I can tell, it rotates out, but they try to keep a few basics always available. As luck would have it, I wanted pepperoni and sausage, which they were within about 10 minutes of putting out fresh out of the oven when I got there. I decided to wait for it. I got my slices and drink (they serve Pepsi products) and walked back to my room. The pizza was super hot, and it was impossible to pick up a slice without all the toppings falling off. That was a little frustrating, not to mention messy. The flavors were good, but by no means the best pizza I've had. The crust was on the thinner side, but falls somewhere in the hand-tossed thickness range. Make sure you grab a bunch of napkins if you're planning to eat one of these pizzas, haha. Overall, the food is decent, and the location is very convenient. it wasn't too difficult getting in and out, though I did go at what is probably a non peak time around 2:30 in the afternoon.
