After much thoughts I have to share this as I use to be nail tech. I should have listened to the bad reviews--this was a major regret. I told the technician from the beginning that I hadn't touched my nails in 6 months because they were finally healthy after past damage and fungal issues from improperly applied tips (all of them!) I only stopped here because of their hours, but I truly wish I hadn't. Despite sharing my concerns, including past issues with fungus due to tips not being glued properly, I was completely dismissed. The technician's "solution" was to just add glue after the nails were already done. Does not help! It's careless. There was no accountability, and no effort to truly listen. These nails are not worth $90 (Basic pink full set). I feel ripped off--both in time and money! Now I have to waste even more time getting them removed and hope I don't end up with more damage or another infection. I kept my cool during the appointment, but I walked out feeling completely unheard and taken advantage of. Never again! Got these nails in May and now in the end of July. I decided I wanna take them off and let my nails recover for a while. I have gotten them removed several times at the salon and did some research. So at home I soaked them in acetone with warm water and tried to file them to remove. I soaked them for at least 45 min and attempted to file them down and still could not get them off without ripping my nail from my skin. I am not sure what's wrong but these are very bonded to my nail. Not even worth one star. read more

I had such a great experience at LA Nails today! The manicure was incredible. My technician, Mifa, did an amazing job! She was kind and patient. She took her time to do good quality work while still working quickly. I asked fit a specific design and she delivered. The facilities themselves were very nice and clean. It was bright and airy and relaxing. A woman who was there while I was had her two kids with her and the staff were so kind and warm to them. I will absolutely be back to this place. Apparently there are new owners here and it really seems like they have turned this place around. I love my nails and the people that were working there today. read more

I dont even know where to start. I'm disappointed, disgusted, and in shock at how a simple nail visit has cost me so much grief, money, and time. I am in search of a GOOD nail salon. I had a brunch this past Saturday and after googling some places, went to one establishment..they did poorly...I paid and left ...went to my function and realized I'll just have to go somewhere else to get fixed. So Monday after work, I came here. They went on and on about how bad they looked n how much cheaper they are. They were too thick and not shaped well. So I got a pedicure and a nail polish change. They looked better, I mean they couldnt look any worse, and I paid with a walmart money card. This card is treated like a debit card but apparently this woman doesnt get this simple concept and took as a gift card...so she voided the transaction before letting me agree to that and demanded another form of payment, citing that she cant get tips on gift cards. I explain to her this is NOT a gift card. Now what If I didnt have another 70 to give her?????! She had tied up my money bc it's not instantly replaced. She apologized that she misunderstood and that should be back in my account within 3 days...how Sway? You're not the bank, how do you know this for sure????? I had a credit card but of course I didnt want to use that but had no choice. So I paid and left. In the following days, like1.5, I really started inspecting my nails..they were lumpy, uneven, not smooth, and had started chipping already on 2 nails! This is gel polish, it should not be doing this....cheap and expired color most likely.....so they were closed, so I sent them a facebook message explaining my concern and even sent pictures showing how its already chipping. She apologized and offered to repaint the 2 nails....ummmm ma'am that's not resolving issue....all my nails look like shit! I told her like ALL salons, on nail polish changes, you smooth the nails after drilling off color and then paint. She proceeds to tell me that's not how "They" do nail polish changes. What in the entire hell...I've never heard of such foolishness..have you? Seriously...so whenever you get a nail polish change...they drill off the color and just slap on the new color...no buff or file...that's insane. . . . Furthermore incorrect. I said well can u at least refund half of my money. She refused. Now here it is, Sunday, 6 days later. Not only I was forced to use my cc with high interest rate I'll have to pay, but they still have yet to replace the 66$ they took on my Walmart debit card , it's in limbo... I'm so angry and disappointed with this place. So I've contacted my credit card to dispute and complain and if my monies from the Walmart card are not released by this week, I will be reporting this place to the Better Business Bureau...I may still report them bc they are wrong and did a piss poor job and have caused me so much grief esp on the interest I'm having to pay on my cc bc they forced me to use. Also she attempted to chastise me about my payment and wanting cash or cashapp instead. Ummm ma'am, that's unprofessional as hell. If u only want cash or cashapp you need to have that in clear writing on the window before services are started. Be glad u even have paying clients. How rude and unprofessional. Now I see why...not only bc they don't want to pay processing fees but when bad service happens, theres no recourse. You're stuck! I dont recommend this place at all. I attached pics ...this is literally a day or so after my nails were painted by them, already chipping, smfh.... I ended up going to a reputable place. Elysian nails by Publix, off Sam Ridley, they did PHENOMENAL and she was disgusted as well by what la nails did and said no...nails are ALWAYS made smooth before any nail polish application...always.....finally found my new spot...also attached the pic where elysian fnails had to fix it! This was the worst mistake I could have made on Valentine's day! I have natural long nails and get them dip. I had broken 2 nails. I sat down and Avon immediately starts cutting my other long nails to put tips on all 10 of my fingers! Absolutely NOT! Please just put a tip on the 2 broken ones. The dip she used began to look bumpy and unsmoothed. I told her sooo many times and she just kept saying she would smooth them out! NEVER HAPPENED! I even received a manicure and my cuticles looked even worse afterwards. The worst set of nails I've ever had. I then received the skimmpiest pedicure ever! Didnt even get the hot towels. I'm not sure where to begin...I just relocated to Smyrna from Atlanta, where I've had some of the best pedicures! Never, ever have I paid $40 for a pedicure! At this nail shop (yep, "shop," because it's definitely NOT a salon), your $40 will only get you...a pale bowl of water, a pumice scrub, and cheap polish. They have old regular polish in horrible colors and a small selection of gel polishes. If you want an up-to-date nail salon that's current on colors, types of nail styles and polish...DON'T GO TO THIS SHOP! You'll be totally disappointed!! Trust me! Two teenage boys had come in as I was getting my feet painted. As soon as they heard $40, they pulled their feet from the water and left! Which they should have! $40 for what? I recently moved to the Nashville area and I teach in the same area as the LA Nails shop in Smryna. I went in for a full set and pedicure. The older attendant greeted me and asked what services would I like, so I told her. She then took me to the pedicure area. She attempted to help me with the color choice that matched closely with the limited gel nail colors that they had. An older gentleman came and proceeded to give me a pedicure. Everything was great until it came down to actually painting my toes. The older gentleman did a horrible job! The lady new it but did nothing to fix it. Then they left me sitting in the chair while attending to customers that came in after me. I waited an additional 20 mins after my terrible paint job and it wasn't until I said something that I was told , "please wait an additional 10mins!" I politely paid the $40 ( which I should not have) and I've been disappointed ever since! The main reason I'm disappointed is because the other workers in there didn't even make an effort to get up, speak or even ask what was wrong or extend an opportunity to solve the issue. When I looked up salon's in the area, I saw 2 star reviews, but those never tend to scare me because I know exactly what I want, and I'm not leaving until they're that way. I completely forgot to ask for her name, but the lady that did my nails, did such a good job. I had ombré that I started painting, but picked a light color. She was worried that it wouldn't be dark enough, but I thought it would give dimension and they turned out fantastic! This was my favorite nail salon when I lived in the area. The owner always did a superb job, very meticulous, never in a hurry. I really appreciated that. I could come here and just relax while getting a pedicure. I cant stand how at some places they are super talkative. I just want to put on my headphones and close my eyes. It's small and clean. I don't do gel nails, acrylics, etc., so can't speak to those options. Manicures and pedicures may take awhile because they do a good job. On a recent trip, someone stopped in and asked about waxing services, but they don't offer that here. There's not a large staff, so if several customers are there, be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. When I come back to TN, I still go here. It's worth the drive from Nashville. read more

This is what my nails looked like after my service today. I called before my lunch break 10 minutes before I got there and asked if they would be able to get me in. She said they would and that it would only take 30 minutes for my service. When I got there she asked me if I wanted a manicure as well the manicure consisted of dipping my hands and soapy water and then cutting off my cuticles. I had to remind her several times that I didn't have a lot of time and I told her that she if she needed 45 minutes that would be fine. Close to the 45 minute mark I had to remind her several times that I needed to go to get back to work. If she would've been upfront and honest and told me that she just couldn't do it in less than an hour and that would've been fine but she told me that she could do it in 30 minutes which was false and she did a very sloppy job on top of that she charged me $70 for this. After I got back to work and had a chance to really look at my nails I was so upset. I was going to come back the next day on my lunch break to have her fix one nail but they all need to be fixed so I will not be returning and I did ask her for a partial refund on Venmo since that's the only way she excepts payments. I explained I was searching for a place that did thorough cuticle job like my old place that closed down. This place was a mistake! I went here since my usual nail salon was closed for thanksgiving weekend and my fiancé and I wanted pedicures and I needed to get a chipped nail fixed. The pedicure was mostly fine except the massage chairs were very cheap and half broken and I could've done a neater job painting my own nails! But for my manicure... Usually I get a very thin layer of acrylic over my natural nails since my job is very rough on my nails. I then get gel polish so I only have to go to the salon about twice a month. First off, I don't think the young girl who removed the gel polish from my nails even had a license!! I would be amazed if she did because she certainly did not know what she was doing! She used the wrong tip on the little dremal tool which made the whole process take far longer than it should (almost an hour just to remove my old polish!!!). Plus the tool would get so hot on my nails that it was nearly burning me (which she knew because she would stop every so often and press her thumb against my nail to "cool" it down). Once she was finally done with that she used nail clippers to clip off some of my nail (which, as you might know, if you have acrylic on your nails and try to use nail clippers it's painful!!) she then used the dremal tool to try to shape my nails, which shortened my nails further. She then used an emery board to file my nails. However she couldn't seem to grasp the concept of oval nails. Half my nails were almost square and the other half were lopsided and had rough edges. Finally the middle aged lady who did my pedicure came over and started arguing with the girl in their language. I could tell she was scolding the girl about the shape and horrible job done to my nails. The middle aged lady then filed my nails again and began adding a layer of acrylic. All the while she insulted how I had my nails before in an attempt to build up her store. She kept saying how unnatural and wide and thick my nails were and how the job she did looked so much better. However my nails are now thicker and more unnatural looking that they were before. They also look like they are a week old with a huge gap between the acrylic and my cuticle. They're also uneven and way too short from the amount of times they had to file my nails. Also the polish is very uneven and blotchy in places! Plus they wanted to do a base color since the polish I chose was very thin so they stood five feet from me arguing about which color and when I interjected and told them which color I wanted she refused me!! Saying that it would make my nails too "light colored" and that I needed a darker color and chose one she liked!! Uh pretty sure it's my decision what color to have on my nails! I really wished I would've walked out without paying because they did the worst job I've ever seen in my life! It was also more expensive than my normal nail place. I'll never go to this place again and I hope no one else makes the same mistake I did! read more

Manicure was just alright, but my primary issue is this: I was given a $30 gift certificate four months ago, but had a baby shortly after and haven't been out too much since. Finally go to treat myself, and at the end they point to the text on the gift certificate that says it expires in 90 days. Since when does cash expire?? I could understand if it was "good for one manicure" because prices change over time, but cash was paid for it, it should be good forever. They ended up charging me $40 for a gel manicure. Is it just me or is that a lot? I feel like they overcharged me (their prices aren't listed anywhere) just because of this gift certificate issue. Argued for 15 minutes, with other girls in the shop agreeing with me, before she finally accepted it. When I walked in I was the only person there, and the one lady started on me. She asked if I wanted my nails evened out, even my shortest nail was pretty long so I said yes. She cut three nails before I realized she chopped them super short. No idea why. Also cut them round when all my nails are naturally square. Another woman walks in, and she hands me off to the other girl working there. Didn't see anybody washing their hands. When a third customer walks in, they start hopping between customers instead of just making someone wait. So they're all touching like three different people, no hand washing or sanitizing (makes me think their tools aren't clean, either) I was getting a gel mani, so they just keep hitting the light on mine and the one lady's lamp so we sit through extra rotations. The staff was great. I only encountered the younger girl and a middle aged woman but they were very nice and welcoming. The gripe I have is about the service. I get my nails dipped and when I asked if they did that they told me they did but they dip the base and paint the top coat to make it look "more natural". I was ok with that. When the services were complete, I could tell that some areas had not gotten as much color as the others. I paid anyways because it was not terribly noticeable. When I woke up the next morning to get dressed, one of the nails had started to peel off. Once I'd gotten to work my thumb nail came off completely. today is day 2 ( I got them done on Sunday evening), all of the polish has peeled off. I now only have the base dip and nothing else. I have wasted $60 and now I will have to pay additional to get it fixed somewhere else. One of the worst manicures I've ever had. I got the gel manicure and it barely lasted one week. The lady cut my cuticles on two fingers and made them bleed and resulted in a scab. I even had a couple nails where the polish didn't even cover the whole nail. $35 down the drain and left very unhappy. Today was the first time I have been here and we got there 30 minutes before they were closing. They were very welcoming and assured us they were in no rush. I got a gel manicure and my daughter got a pedicure and I am most happy due to the fantastic customer service more than anything else. I visited this nail spa since I was in the area. This was my very first time and it will definitely be the LAST! I received shellac polish on my acrylic nails, like I always do wherever I visit. The young girl that painted my nails was very sloppy. I had clear gel polish on my skin. I was charged $40 for a fill-in with shellac polish and I gave a $7 tip (which I regret now). Less than one hour after leaving this place my nail chipped. I went back and showed them where it chipped, showed them where parts of my nail on other fingers weren't even polished! ( on the side of my nails you could see the acrylic, where she hadn't put any polish!) They corrected it at no charge. The very next day, (today) I get work and start typing, and my nail polish chips on a different finger. I've never had this happen before right after getting my nails done. I refuse to go back. I'll just go to another nail spa, pay an additional $25 to get my nails repainted. This is ridiculous! Everyone at LA Nails was nice, except the young girl that painted my nails. Worst pedicure I have ever received. The older lady was going to quick that she didn't take more than 15 seconds cutting all my cuticles. She also couldn't understand a single thing so when I asked her to fix it she said she doesn't understand. I totally understand people all come from different walks of life but I want to be able to communicate my unhappiness and I was not able to. Never going back!! Worst customer service! I just left the salon and I am a very unhappy camper! I have been getting my nails done for 10 or more years. I always get pink and white because I work with my hands a lot as a server and they have always held up well. I walked into LA nails about an hour ago and asked for my usual pink and white nails. The lady came over and look at my hands and ask if I wanted tips pink and white was more expensive. I said I know I like it better then acrylic. After another girl started my nails but before she got to using the powder the women came over again asking about another type of nail call a gel nail. The only type of gel nail I have heard of is a thick liquid nail paint, so I ask her if that is what she was asking about. She said no it's like pink and white, better for people who work with their hands,thinner, and looks more natural. Oh and it's cheaper. Sounded pretty good since she made it seem so much better, so I thought I would give it a try. They continued working on my nails and as they start with a clear coat wet powder mix. I started realizing I wasn't get a pink and white gel. I was get acrylic with a paint coat, which will chip in a few days for me. Since I'm a server. I started asking about before they finished my first hand, but they just kept on with what they were doing and then started arguing in their language. They knew they were in the wrong and did nothing about it. Just continued trying to convince me I was wrong, as if I had never had my nails done before. Then to top it off, she forgot to tell me the credit card machine stopped working and there was no other alternative for payment. Then suggested I go to the ATM, I only had a credit card. I should have just said ok, left without paying, and not come back since I was so unhappy with it all. However they are a busy, I couldn't be a bad person and do that even though they weren't helping me on a product I didn't want. I had to argue with her until another guy decided to call the credit card machine just to find out how to manually enter my card. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous, I could have done that myself. If you ask me, it's a shady business trying to only take cash. Would have been nice to know before they started on my nails! I could have gone somewhere else and got what I wanted.
