My girls love coming to La michoacana! The customer service is amazing! We come at least once a week!

Been to this place a few times and have never encounter such rude customer service as today. Employee by the name of Reyna not sure if she gave me her real name since she hesitated should not be dealing with customers. Ordered esquite she put no mayo so my daughter told her she did not want it she complained and was very rude with her response. Losing a customer and risking a bad review over an esquite & a scoop of mayo is crazy to me. I understand we all have bad days but when at work you have to learn how to control your emotions especially if your name ain't out on that sign in front. read more

I have to say is the best Michoacana in the area of Riverside . I like how the ice cream is fresh and good... the paletas tamarindo is my favorite they are amazing, such creative sweets and spicy delicious snacks ! Located on Chicago Ave & University Ave in the Dollar Tree Shopping Center with plenty of parking. We stopped here on Wednesday night after dinner looking for an appetizing dessert, so we were glad to see this Michoacana still open as it was shortly before 9 PM. I couldn't decide between a scoop of ice cream or a "Fresas con Crema," so I ordered both lol. I tried their "Chicle" flavored Ice-Cream which translates to bubble gum, it tasted exactly like it. Their "Fresas con Crema" (which is a cup filled with fresh cut Strawberries with sweet cream) were just as good! Both desserts were fresh, delicious, and very satisfying. They have such a huge variety of treats, such as Tostilocos, Aguas Frescas, Bionicos, Mangoneadas, Nachos, Paletas, Milkshakes, Tejuino, Elotes, Churros and so much more depending on your cravings. Service was friendly and efficient. The lobby is not spot clean, but it was acceptable during our visit. Overall, we had a good experience at this location. read more

Located at the plaza on University Ave/Chicago Ave, this is hands down our favorite spot for Mexican ice cream! We typically go for their popsicles (paletas) rather than ordering customized items like their fruit platters (sandia loca), or milkshakes (malteadas). The place can get pretty busy, and the lines can be a bit confusing. The popsicle line is near the entrance, while orders for other items need to be placed at the back of the store. The speed of service can be on the slower side, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They offer a great variety, and almost every flavor we've tried (and we've tried almost all of them!) tastes fantastic. The ambiance is a bit basic, so we typically take our items to-go and enjoy them later. In short, no day at the pool is complete without a stop here for their amazing ice cream. We went in first time at this location, the woman helping us was very stand off ish we asked a question for the difference of Oreo and Cookie Monster ice cream reply was "they are just different" although it's just a question we expected the real difference . no smile no nothing she seemed irritated more then anything. My favorite Mexican ice cream place in Riverside. Some of my favorites are the pistachio and bubble gum in a waffle cone. The mangonadas with mango ice cream are delicious! They have the perfect about of chamoy and chili. Make sure to get fresh mango on top! Lastly, I really love the frozen bananas dipped in chocolate with peanuts on them. I usually come here while I'm doing laundry next door. Usually it's okay service and good Ice cream. Normally would give this overall 3 or 4 stars, But today the service was okay and the "fresh fruit" was alright but the watermelon had gone bad/old . My mom wouldn't eat it and I was ready to toss it, but $10 is $10. I was hoping I'd go back and they would replace the rotten watermelon with the pineapple or cucumber maybe mango, since 80% of the fruit is the watermelon that she kept throwing out. So I went back But the girl at the counter justified it by going to the back and grabbing a fresh piece, eating it and saying it tasted fine. I didn't want to argue with her, I asked her if she was going to do anything to help, but said if it (her piece) had been rotten she would. I wouldn't have came back if it (mine) tasted good. I didn't even eat over half the serving as she claimed, Very disappointed she wasn't willing to replace the bad tasting fruit. The drinks were placed in a cardboard drink carrier that obviously had a handle to carry them easy... as soon as my dad got off the car the handle ripped.. he did not want to call because my dad does not like to cause any inconvenience but he called; a worker picked up and clearly told him "that was your fault and not our fault because you did not drop them at the store" and then automatically hung up like no please do not disrespect my father like that when it was not his fault. That was the absolute worst customer service anyone has ever given him/us. There was absolutely no reason to disrespect my father like that. One particular young lady who helped us was extremely slow to bring out our orders and still made them terribly. We had ordered a bionico which normally comes with mixed fruits but it was just cantaloupe and like three strawberries. Savory- they have all kinds of yummy savory snacks, hot chettos with the works, tostilocos, traditional mexican street corn on the cob or in a cup. Nachos and other snacks. Definitely a great place to stop by if your trying to beat the Riverside heat! I usually only come here for their paletas as their cheap, delicious and refreshing! Pro tip: you can skip the main line if you're only there to get paletas/popsicles which is what I always do since the line during hot days are usually a long one. I actually really enjoy their water/juice-based paletas as they're the ones that come in fruit flavors and they may even have some frozen fruit in them! They also have very interesting ice cream flavors that maybe one day I'll get to try. Additionally, they serve a variety of other Mexican desserts and snacks as well. One particularly popular one is their mangonada. I've never really like them from other places but theirs is the perfect balance that I actually enjoyed! Came here last Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday my boyfriend and I got a scoop of the snickers ice cream and the Starbucks ice cream. Snickers ice cream was good but it was definitely very sweet. It's consistency is very creamy. The Starbucks ice cream tasted basically like bits of coffee grinds mixed in it. It wasn't bad because it was sweet enough to counter the bitter but it was just interesting feeling the little pieces when you ate it lol On Sunday I got a mangonada with lime and mango water based ice cream. Very yummy but I wish they had added just a little bit more of the chamoy. Overall the ice cream was good so no complaints on my end. I'm just surprised that there's a huge rave about their selection because so far there hasn't been anything that has stood out to me about them. Found this place on yelp for a quick after-lunch dessert and wow! Thought I was coming for the cream paletas but when I entered, I smelled ...CORN!! Could it be elotes? Yes! Was pleasantly surprised as I thought this was just a dessert place. Had to get me one and even though I was so full from lunch, and it did not disappoint. Also, this place needs more lighting; brightening up the place will probably make guests want to eat their dessert here. And the "line begins here" sign is placed inconspicuously near the back wall, which you'll only notice as the line moves up. It actually needs to be closer to the door, IMO. PRICE I think the reason why this place is packed is because the prices are great compared to franchise ice cream locations. PRODUCTS Savory and sweet treats... you'll just have to come and see for yourself! I really love the fruity paletas and ice cream, especially anything with pineapple! I stumbled in here on a hot and sticky Riverside day. I was surprised by the large and clean space awaiting me inside. So rich in flavor and so smoothly creamy. However, I go crazy for the watermelon popsicle. It tastes like fresh watermelon and is so refreshing. I also love how it looks like a watermelon! The green part on the bottom is actually lime. An interesting combo when you take a bite of that and the watermelon. There is plenty of seating and napkin dispensers everywhere! A large scoop of ice cream and a popsicle came out to $3 something! So affordable and so worth it. This place makes the ice cream feel like a steal. I have tried the soursop which was surprisingly a nice complement to the mango. But again, I prefer just mango. Which has a very strong sweet mango flavor and the texture of the sorbet is just so smooth. I have had some that are on the icy side, but this sorbet is the right amount of creamy. Their mangoneada is drizzled with chamoy all around cup and on top. They also give a nice squeeze of lime on top and add a tamarind stick to finish off the perfect dessert. The original is in Moreno Valley, which is where all of their ingredients are made. This one is located in the same plaza as Rite Aid. While it was cool to pick my own flavors, I probably should've gone mango all the way because the lime/salt + strawberry was not working for me. The mango was much sweeter and balanced out a lot better! For about $4, this is a hefty dessert with a ton of sugar--share with a friend! Watermelon water pop: below $2. I love watermelon, not that fake flavor stuff, but the real deal. The pop was cute with a layer of white and green to look like the outer layer. I would've preferred a plain red pop... but I ordered this anyway. My brother and I agreed that maybe this freezer was kept a bit too cold? It was over 90 degrees that day, but we were still biting into HARD FROZEN ICE 5+ minutes later. I'd pass on this. Strawberry kiwi water pop: below $2. Another miss. Definitely not bad, but really icy. Real strawberry chunks were pleasant! So why am I rating this four stars? Because this place is convenient, super affordable, and there are tons of amazing options! I may have a knack for picking out wacky flavors, but I love that I could easily afford to try almost everything here if I lived in the area.
