Cute little restaurant in downtown Princeton. They only had one waiter and one runner, but they made it work. Service was a bit slow at first because of a very large group, but once our order was taken everything came out quickly. The complimentary bread was warm and delicious, served with some of the best-tasting olive oil I've had in a while. I ordered the chicken Marsala and I must say it was perfect--the chicken was tender, the sauce was flavorful, and the roasted potatoes were just enough so you didn't feel guilty about the carbs. It's a great entrée for someone on a low-carb diet. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. The ricotta cheesecake was the perfect end to the meal--creamy, not too sweet--but I did expect a few more berries. Overall, I can definitely see myself coming back if I'm ever in Princeton again.

Wow! What an amazing restaurant! We went there on a Wednesday night and were seated right away (party of 4). I tried the chicken parm with vodka sauce and it was amazing! The pasta and the sauce were top notch, some parts of the chicken were a little dry but overall it was delicious! I also tried the tiramisu, I wish it had more coffee taste to it but it was a light dessert to end the night. I am visiting the area but would definitely eat here again if I come back!

La Mezzaluna can make great Italian food! It would be nice if their service matched it. The Branzino Fillet over lobster risotto was simply AMAZING! The calamari, meatballs and fresh mozzarella were wonderful starters. We had this nice dinner on a beautiful night at their outside dining, but perhaps service was slow because we were the only table or just not enough servers. I would highly recommend because of the food knowing it may take a while.

10/10! Vodka sauce is to die for, amazing and quick service with the nicest staff. Great date spot, will definitely be back soon.

WOW! I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Started off the dinner with the salad and let me tell you, this was one of the BEST dressings I have EVER had!! We had already put in our order but I could've had the salad with a side of chicken for dinner and would've been satisfied. Another incredible was the Truffle Gnocchi! Very rich and definitely need to share but it's you NEED to order this. We also ordered the Fettuccine pasta and the Chicken Al Vino which were tasty and were very good portions. We were too full to try dessert but will come back here the next time I am in Princeton (SoCal native!). The servers were very friendly. The restaurant itself was very cute and would be perfect for a date night!

This was a small spot with limited décor, but a large picture of pasta, which I found entertaining. There was also outdoor seating in the alley next to the establishment. The service was great, and the food came out in a timely manner. They started the meal off with some bread. It was not too bad. Some pieces were warm, while others were more room temperature. For an entrée, I had the penne ($20). It came with Italian eggplant, sweet red peppers, and shallots in a tomato basil sauce with mozzarella sauce. This was tasty. The pasta was cooked al dente, which I prefer sometimes. Regardless, the sauce was delicious. It was somewhat thick, so it easily coated the pasta. The vegetables appeared fresh and paired nicely with the tomato basil sauce. I also tried the cannelloni vegetariani. It was filled with baby spinach, red peppers, eggplant, onions, and ricotta. It was then topped with fresh mozzarella over pesto cream sauce. Again, another appetizing dish especially the pesto cream sauce. Will I go back? Yes.

AMAZING food! Visited there for the first time tonight and we both had the chicken parm one with vodka sauce and one with marinara. Definitely make a reservation as it gets busy since the space is small! Great service overall 10/10

As soon as we entered La Mezzaluna, an atmosphere of warm welcome greeted us. From that moment on, the staff made it a point to tend to any of our needs. For example, one of them joked about singing Happy Birthday, so I mentioned that it actually was my dad's birthday. Immediately, the staff asked what my dad's name was, then came together to sing Happy Birthday with a lighter serving as the candle! It was such a sweet and memorable gesture. We also enjoyed the olive oil that came with the free bread due to its unique flavor, thus tried asking the staff what brand it was? It was a secret, but since they knew how much we loved the olive oil, they packed some with the leftover bread for us to take home. This was some of the best service I've received at a restaurant, and for that alone, La Mezzaluna is worth a visit! Like I mentioned earlier, the olive oil is unique in flavor, making this free bread a top contender in the free bread battle. The burrata in the salad was delicious, especially with the vinaigrette on top. The rigatoni's sauce was creamy and flavorful, and overall satisfying. The only change I'd personally want is asking for red pepper flakes next time to add some spice! The star of the night was the fruit flambe, which is prepared by the staff by the table. The staff will explain each step of the process and show off some big flames for you to get cool shots of. I've never had a dessert like this, so I highly recommend getting this one!

Normally we stay away from pasta restaurants unless there's something unique to it. However, Pastiamo hit a home run immediately. From Chef Francesca being ever present in the restaurant - from serving to seating - to the homemade focaccia you receive as a starter, it was an impeccable dining experience. Then you add the nice plates and simple, yet warm decor. You just can't go wrong. We split the forza Italia as an appetizer to get more of a focaccia kick. We loved the homemade bread. The three cheeses were a nice and complimentary touch. Also, dousing this with some freshly squeezed orange juice didn't hurt. For the main course, we split a pesto gnocchi and a tagliatelle alla Norma. The pasta was truly homemade. Felt super fresh. The sauces were great and not too oily or salty. It was so good that we decided to bring some home to my parents. We will be back again!

It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.

There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.
