My partner and I went here for lunch as it's close to his job. He's been here once before and said the food was wonderful. They have an extensive menu, everything looks clean and beautiful, and the service is friendly. You can choose to order from the trays of hot food behind the counter. While that was very tempting, I ended up ordering pupusa's rancheros and they delivered! It was the largest pupusa I've ever eaten before, and it had a gooey and tasty ratio of beans to cheese. The sunny side eggs on top were cooked just right so that there was a runny yoke without having that gross white film that sometimes happens when eggs are not cooked well. My partner had the shrimp burrito as he enjoys their shrimp and he says they're tasty and fresh. He was not wrong! In fact, be prepared to wait just a little bit as they make their food to order. I came to this place several times over the years but sadly today was the last. I ordered pupusas and I don't know what I got. I have never eaten anything like this before. They shouldn't sell them if they don't know how to make them. Maybe the chef has changed. It was very disappointing. Left a bad taste in my mouth I'm sorry to say. I have had them there in the past and they were good but today there was like ground meat in them and all the flavors were off. The pupusa dough was not right it was like fluffy not masa and the fillings weren't right the sauce was definitely not right and the curtido way off. So sad. read more

First time trying it out. We wanted to try something different and were looking for a Filipino spot in nassau. Staff was great, from the guy who took our order and helped with the menu options to the gentleman who brought out the food. Great selection and you honestly feel like you get your money's worth. The pork, ribs, chicken were all awesome. Well seasoned and you can selection what you prefer. Empanadas and sides and sauces were delicious as well. Very happy we came across this gem. You don't walk out hungry or feeling ripped off. The plates are full of rice and plantains and your choices of meat. Will most definitely be going back regularly. Unreal! You want authentic Spanish food, this is the place. My wife and I are big fans of Spanish food, and we are adventurous. If you want quality, this is the place. Big portions, made to order. This isn't one to pass up. While stuck inside during this COVID mess, we had an itch for Spanish food and found La Mesa on Grubhub. Among other things, we ordered the Filipino pork adobo. That's all it took. Everything was good but the pork adobo blew us away. The order wasn't perfect because they forgot the chicharron and tostones. I called and they delivered it immediately! The tostones were thin style but perfectly cooked. Anyone who has ever made tostones, knows that's a skill, especially the thin style. We were full but ate them anyway. My son has been ordering ever since. I also recommend their empanadas. The only two we've tried are the pork and the spinach. Both were delicious so my guess is the others are too. This week, I stopped by their eatery. Let's describe it as bodega style with posh and charm. The place was very clean and stylish. It offered a small shop with ethnic condiments and seasonings. The people were very friendly and as always the food was delicious. Went here on recommendation from people I spoke with in the area. First time here and this will be my last. Do not know how this place has 4.5 stars bc the food is not very good. I ordered Mar y Tierra and the steak was tougher than a tire. It def wasn't sirloin as advertised and the chicken was too dry as well. In addition, I walked in and was told food would be ready in 20 min. It took them 1 hour 15 minutes. I literally sat there without a concern from the staff. Management seems poor and disorganized along with terrible customer service. I can understand if you're busy just say so. If it's 40 - 60 minutes say so. But the food wasn't very good and add in bad service ... that's a wrap. I don't like writing these reviews but wasting my time doesn't make me happy along with paying a decent amount for a poor meal. read more

The place is extremely clean, and the dishes are fresh and natural. The display of available dishes include a varied selection of Meats- Vegetables, and other authentic cooked foods. We ordered the BBQ Beef Short Ribs, cooked to perfection, and Plantains, (Baked Sweet Banana) which were excellent. I do think that in addition to the reg. menu, they need to make it clear that you can order (3) different size dishes- to choose from. They do not post this info, I feel that the owner needs to have a sign, so people know they can order this way as well. Nice decor, they offer a selection of authentic Hot Sauces and items for retail. I feel with a little tweaking, ie: prices on products, and a simplified way to order-display a sign- Size $6/8/10 "select whatever size you wish for your dish" Containers are nice, eco friendly. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is has AMAZING food! I had a Queso Pupusa and it was the best pupusa I have ever eaten! Great service and the people there were sooooo friendly. When we walked in, a very friendly man showed us some menus and kindly told us what everything was. We could chose a size bowl that we wanted and they filled it up so we got our money's worth. Damn, this place is GOOD. I mean really really good. Authentic, flavorful and fresh! The man behind the counter was really nice and helpful in explaining the various dishes and options. I had a medium platter with yellow rice, ground beans, pernil (pork), plantains and tomato. It was amazing, and a good portion too. Wow wow wow this place is amazing. Judging from the outside you wouldn't think much, but it's gorgeous inside and the food is even better. You can chose from made to order food from a menu or pre-cooked dishes that are displayed behind the counter. I did both and everything tasted amazing. All the dishes I had here have a nice homemade taste that is missing from most other restaurants today. And to top it off, everything here is more than reasonably priced. I had a meal that was fit for Kings and spent 20 dollars for two people ( that's including drinks and appetizers) I couldn't recommend this place enough. This restaurant is a great little spot and offers some really unique dishes you won't find anywhere else in the area so I feel compelled to leave a great review for them so more people can discover them. We've been working our way through the menu and everything is delicious. That includes the Salvadoran and Asian influenced dishes, they're all great. Some highlights are the pernil roast pork platter, the pork skewers, the huevos rancheros, the chicken enchiladas and the Baleada Mesa. The only hiccup for us were the empanadas. Perhaps it's because they make them a little differently in El Salvador rather than Mexico. Who knows? For whatever reason we just didn't love them.
