I came to the La Mariposa Resort venue as a wedding guest (rehearsal and day-of ceremony). The venue is really beautiful, easy to navigate (especially in heels) with a good amount of parking. Our friends had great wedding coordinators and vendors so everyone we encountered was super friendly. There were two sets of bathrooms readily accessible from where the reception was held. The space is really nice - not too large to where space felt underutilized but not too small where it's claustrophobic. It was a great venue and very beautiful overall. read more

We attended a beautiful wedding over the weekend at the La Mariposa Resort. There was so much attention to detail... from the decor, the ceremony, the reception and so much more! I recently attended a wedding at this venue as a member of the groom's party. It was an outdoor event located on their beautiful grass lawn. The venue is stunning with a beautiful view of the Catalina mountains. The lighting, outdoor tent and dance floor were magnificent and created a stunning day for the bride and groom. The staff were very friendly and the owners Steve and Francesca were fantastic. What Steve is failing to mention is that the beer brought in was non alcoholic, being that the groom doesn't drink alcohol. My groomsmen obliged your request with no hesitation and gave a bottle that he had to the bar. False statement that my wife hugged you is completely in his own mind. Our son & daughter in law recently were married at La Mariposa. Magical memories were made as they celebrated their special day with family & friends. The setting is breathtaking with the gorgeous Mountain View's. We experienced several issues, two of the most frustrating & upsetting were that our guests were told they could only take two tacos at the buffet line. This was announced by the DJ and repeated at the buffet line. We should have been advised that this would be announced, we would have never agreed to this. This was very embarrassing! The other huge issue was that Amanda, the wedding coordinator's day off was on the day of the wedding. The bride & groom weren't advised until they arrived on their wedding day! Such a disappointment! Regardless, the bride & groom will always treasure their beautiful wedding day! John the DJ, our bartender & wait staff were most helpful & professional. Attended a wedding at this gorgeous facility this past Friday. The outdoor ceremony area was hidden within some spectacular tall shady trees (that were home to a pair of Cooper's hawks), a lush rolling grass lawn, a pond that had some adorable ducklings and an outdoor gathering space with a large fireplace. After the ceremony we were treated to a cocktail hour that had the most delicious appetizers offered by friendly and professional waitstaff. We sampled bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms , and a fiesta chicken wrap. All were delish! The bartenders were all so friendly and accommodating. The inside seating reception area was decorated stylishly for the occasion and comfortably seated the 125 or so guests. Our plated dinner choices were Mahi Mahi with a lemon cream sauce or a beef tenderloin with mushroom gravy. Both were tender and flavorful and served with rolls, herb rough-mashed potatoes and buttery roasted broccoli rabe. The dessert bar had a selection of brownies, lemon bars, crème brûlée, and cheesecake. All were tasty. All the guests seemed to be very impressed with this venue and had a wonderful time. They spoke to us and welcomed us as if we were family and made our overall experience one we will never forget. The resort grounds are tucked away from any nearby residences which added for a more intimate feel, and the grounds were very nicely tended to. We looked at several venues before stumbling upon La Mariposa but I couldn't be more happy with the price and location of this place. They even said that we didn't even need a wedding planner because they handled everything the day before and the day of. My husband and I were married at the La Mariposa Resort. It was definitely everything imagined. A day that we'll always remember and deeply cherish. Working with Cynthia and John is easy and they are very accommodating to ones wishes. It felt more than just a consultation, we connected. It made all the difference and the experience even more spectacular. Their entire team is friendly and helpful. They worked with me on details, answered every question and never minded that I showed up to plan things out leading up to event. They even made changes the day before and some minor additions the day of wedding. For those that know me, this is a big deal for me to be able to set the ambiance. The space at La Mariposa is spacious, beautiful trees, plenty greenery, the pond, fountains, and more, make La Mariposa the place for every special event. We had an outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor reception and it was perfect. John, also the DJ put together all the music selected for the ceremony and executed flawlessly. No hiccups, as this was a concern for me and I'm sure for anyone putting a wedding together. Our. family and friends are still talking about our ceremony and setting at venue. It was a year ago in April when we decided to check out La Mariposa for our daughter's quinceañera and we are so glad we did. Venue and staff was great, food wasn't. Had a company holiday party here, I had been here over 10 years ago for the same type of event and the food was good at that time - this time not so much. The steak was worse than a Furrs cafeteria or western sizzler, no seasonings, poor cut and very fatty, all the food except for mashed potatoes was cold and we were one of the first through the line - I'd rather of had McDonald's dollar menu. read more

Got married here a month ago. The outside of the venue is gorgeous, food was good and they were kind enough to give us a complimentary champagne toast. Things that did not go well: -Would have over paid by $1000 if I wasn't keeping track. Venue apologized for mistake and took off $200 charge that appeared to be added anyway after original agreement -Due to Covid changed the wedding day several times. Their house DJ could not do final date. He refused to refund any of the $400 we paid -Wait staff accidentally broke one of our signs -They forget appetizers that we ordered. Said they put the money we spent on appetizers toward bar tab and conveniently our bar tab ended up being exactly that amount . No way our bar tab was that much. Have asked for a print out of tab with no response -Some guests waited a long time for dinner -Flow of wedding was not great. Didn't end up cutting the cake until very late. Some guests already left, leaving us with a bunch of leftover cake Would go somewhere else if I had to do it over again! read more

This venue is straight up PROFESSIONAL, ACCOMMODATING, and BUDGET FRIENDLY. The location has a very private feel as it is tucked away from the rest of the city. Plenty of paved parking for the guests. The outdoor ceremony was in front of the gazebo with mountain views, majestic trees, and a serene pond. Nothing short of BREATHTAKING! It started to rain right after the ceremony and the reception was moved completely indoors. Talk about flexibility. The Mexican food was spectacular! DJ John nailed it with the music and as the MC. The staff was friendly and on top of things throughout the night. Appropriate COVID protocols were in place. The rain disappeared after dinner and we were able to also celebrate outside! Clean-up was easy and efficient. Unfortunately at the end of the night I discovered that a part of a tree had landed on my car after the storm but John was attentive and Steve was responsive with getting the damages repaired. Great venue with a very professional and helpful staff. My brother got married here and It was a great experience. I was genuinely not expecting to see a horse drawn carriage bring the bride up, but it was really neat to see. I know the rest of the family thought it was really special as well. The location itself if near town but secluded enough that there are no outside lights or sounds to distract from the ceremony and there is a fantastic mountain backdrop.
