It went great…read more The event coordinator, Jo, was gracious, helpful and collaborative, providing everything we needed and helping us even to hang a piñata (which we cleared beforehand). Honestly, I had so much trouble getting other venues to call me back - she was such a relief and a help. When I went to see the place in person a few days before, she showed me all around and everyone I met was warm and welcoming. The Y has all the things you could need - tables, chairs, etc. and you can bring all your own decor and food. Costs were so reasonable. The Historic Y has a great mission of its own which made hosting there even more meaningful for me and my family. Thanks and respect!

The property is beautiful and well-maintained. Our guests in particular loved the desert views and taking pictures on the rooftop during cocktail hour. We also appreciated the pricing and flexibility of their packages, and the wide availability of linens, napkins, and other decor items included in the price of the package. Our venue coordinator Cecilia was easy to work with. She was always responsive when we had questions and made the process a lot less stressful. The day of the wedding went incredibly smoothly! Everything was set up as expected, and any minor logistical issues that arose were handled fast and professionally. We chose the Sonoran BBQ menu, and our guests really seemed to like it. Overall, we had a great experience throughout the process and would definitely recommend Saguaro Buttes to anyone getting married in Tucson.

If you rent the venue for a Saturday event, you only have access from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Those hours are very inconvenient, especially when you are hosting an event that requires decorating and setup. It would be much more accommodating if they allowed renters to decorate earlier in the day, or even the day before when there isn't another event scheduled. The required bartending service was also a major disappointment. Unfortunately, I would give that service 0 stars. The service did not meet our expectations at all. Another issue was that there was something in the venue that was broken and something we were relying on for our event. Unfortunately, it was not replaced or properly addressed, which was very frustrating. We also were not allowed to dim the lights once the DJ started. While this wasn't the biggest issue of the night, it definitely would have helped create a better atmosphere for the event. Overall, the venue is nice and the staff are kind, but when you're paying for an event, you expect to be able to fully utilize the space and have the services you've paid for meet reasonable expectations. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this venue to others looking to host an event.
