First I would like to say that it is a beautiful spot and you can't deny the view! That's why my sister and her husband chose it for their wedding December of 2025. But I want to let others know about our experience because I want to make sure it does NOT happen to future brides. I think this will mostly be about things that went wrong. And we did express our complaints to the owner but did not receive a sincere apology. Again, these are OUR issues and hopefully they can be corrected and improved in the future. *The barn door jammed for my sisters first look for her bridesmaids. Ruined moment. *The coordinator was very nice and did help us a lot in the bridal suite. But when it came to having things ready it was not so put together. She did not have ready the "Aras" or "Lazo" which is part of our tradition when getting married. When the time came, we stood there for a good 5-10 min before my mother had to run and go find it to which then the coordinator brought up. No one made an announcement or apologized. Then she pretty much disappeared the rest of the night. *I barely made it to the entrance song because it was not announced for the bridal party to gather. * The DJ RUINED their first dance because he played the wrong song and did not apologize. We gave him a whole set list to play of which NONE of the music was represented. He only played one line dance song where he got out on the dance floor but that was it. And coming from a Hispanic family, he did not play ANY Mexican music. Half the wedding did not dance at all. He did not announce any events so we did not know when cake cutting was happening or if things were placed out. For guests to view. Guests book signing, momentos to take home were not touched because no one knew about. *We had a High school mariachi band come play during dinner but then after they were somehow allowed to go into the bridal room and just "hang out"??? I don't know who said they could go back there but I was shocked when I went to get something and they were all lounging around our personal items!? I mean bras were thrown and everything back there! That was a big issue for me. Not appropriate. *When dinner came we had ok'd all guests to be allowed to have both entrees. I find out later that one side was offered only a choice instead of both! We had so much food leftover because of this! And the food was not as good as at the tasting. *The bar had pre made cocktails in pitchers instead of making them individually, so they were very strong. And if you had a drink, you had to drink it quickly because they'd come around and pick it up even if it was still full! Such a waste of all our bought liquor and beer. *They allowed guests in the ballroom while we were trying to take pictures of the bridal party so we had to have them go back out which was embarrassing. Then when we requested the guests to enter earlier after photos due to the weather it took another hour to make the announcement. *Not enough cocktail hour food! *Wedding party did not receive any snacks for cocktail hour. *The backdrop in the Photo Booth was not even up! It was supposed to be a newspaper setting and it was just a black curtain. *Not enough dessert and they were serving in paper boats that my uncle had provided for his nachos bar. *They had very young people serving who did not know how to serve or plate. *DJ did not announce the last dance!!!! They missed it and by then everyone had gone because the music sucked. AGAIN, just our experience but I hope those who take time to read this will be appreciative and take time to make sure everything goes how they expect it. And have a boss or someone you trust in charge of the little things to stay on top of them because they didn't seem to care much after they were paid. They were given programs to know exactly how we wanted things to go and they did not deliver. read more

We came here for a wedding and couldn't have been more impressed! You first walk into a beautiful courtyard where the surrounding views are spectacular. Some delicious horderves and drinks were being served before the ceremony. The area is at the base of Sombrero Peak so the west setting sun is blocked by the peak so a 5 o'clock wedding is perfect without being under the blazing sun. Indoor dining is served with a table by table help yourself dinner. The space is elegant and comfortable and provides a great dining experience with a variety for the bride and groom speeches and then dancing. Did I mention plenty of parking. Where to start? My daughter's wedding was one of the last ones before the pandemic. Kelly and staff at Star Dance Event Center were so wonderful and so helpful. We ended up with the best wedding ever. The venue is gorgeous and having an indoor/outdoor option was exactly what the kids were looking for. We had a taco bar and that is still talked about today. The DJ listened to exactly what the Bride and Groom wanted. We danced until it was time to go! The location and the theme of the wedding were so perfect that it ended up being published in a wedding magazine: "Rock N Roll Bride". The venue is beautiful. Kelly was easy to work with. However the food for my daughter's wedding was poor. Chicken undercooked and raw. Beef was tough. Last few tables were served cold food. Catering failed to serve one entire food item. Caterer refused to address any concerns. DJ failed to follow the set provided. Staff were hard to track down. For the price we paid, I cannot recommend this venue due to the poor quality our guests experienced. read more

I've been to over a dozen weddings (two of them were mine) and this was by far my favorite wedding that I've attended. The staff is a well-oiled machine and had everything going flawlessly. I'm not sure if they do this for all weddings, but there was a "Beer Burro"...a donkey carrying beer. I liked the venue so much that I looked on their website at prices and saw that their packages are very reasonable priced. Everyone involved from Kelly to the staff at our wedding on May 4th 2021 was/is amazing. The group of services they work with are professional and do phenomenal work. Stardance is a beautiful venue. If no stars were available, that is what this place would get and specifically Kelly, She would not even accommodate the simplest of requests...to supply ice to the grooms' quarters. As other reviews have stated, she was beyond rude. Numerous guests all went to IN-N-OUT after the wedding, because the food was so horrible and virtually inedible, and to quote one guest, "I've never seen so many signs or such tacky decorations in my life-many looked like that had been 'recycled.' My daughter got married at this place on October 30th and we are still in shock with the horror that was this wedding after a solid 14 months of planning and even bringing in a wedding planner. Unfortunately there's not just one thing that made this wedding terrible it was everything from the decorating to the employees who were smoking pot outside the door that I told to get away because they were going to cause my daughters dress to smell. Minor things except no one could decorate the arch to our specification because there were bees everywhere and Kelly could not have cared less. That's when Kayla (her helper) said to the wedding planner the wedding the night previously had been a nightmare too just as our friends Daughters wedding had been at this place two weeks prior. We planned so well down to the second and the DJ did not play The right music from the minute she walked down the aisle we all stood there like what is he doing. After all is said and done we found out he does this at every wedding and plays the same music at every wedding regardless of what you ask for pay for or want! He did not follow the timeline in any way shape or form he rushed the wedding from the beginning and when we went up to talk to him he told us no and ignored us and then he left the venue at 8:30. He did not announce the cake was being cut dances were missed my daughters heart was broken by the time the limo got there they were very few people and he had disappeared. They were also supposed to put out a dessert bar which they didn't start to put out until the end...2 hours early. Everyone was leaving, the food was disgusting and they closed it down 30 minutes prior to when they were supposed to and were very rude to our guests. By the way the food was Mexican do you know of anyone who can mess up Mexican food as a catering company? Kelly's can! We tried to get help to get the staff that Kelly was to control under control but she'd already left and then when I, the mother of the bride was standing outside the kitchen I heard them talking and they said that Kelly had said make this as miserable for that B...h as possible, and do nothing more than they had to. It was recommended that we sue them by a number of people that were at the venue said the same things had happened to them the most recent one having been as I said two weeks prior but we had illness issues and didn't want to waste our time dealing with a place like this. If you want or can just take the barn and use it and keep everybody and any thing that's under their control away it may work out but I would recommend you keep that DJ and photographer far away from this venue as possible if you can't stay away. This venue is a money making scam and does not have the slightest idea what a large, elegant wedding is. They charge extra for everything if you don't want their barnyard picnic tables they charge you for the round ones the pictures you see on their website are gross misrepresentation of what they actually offer. If you want your wedding to look like that you need to bring somebody in from outside and pay a lot of money extra to get it to look like that. My advice is to stay away and find somewhere else but if your daughter wants a barn as the venue I would make a huge contract pushing them out if that will be allowed. We asked for the numbers of the contract and a copy of the contract and it is very vague and she never ever gave us the numbers for what each item cost in this wedding. The unfortunate thing is that this Kelly has been getting away with this for a long time and she'll continue to get away with it. When we called to ask for our money back for the dessert bar and other items we paid for no provided she wrote back one sentence" call my lawyer"So you've been warned she doesn't care who's day she ruins or what she does. I would give her zero stars if I could but that's not a choice! read more

Well as my wife stated we started 14 months or so before said wedding. It was a fight from the beginning. First you take the basic ranch picnic tables or pay extra for the beautiful round ones and that is just the beginning of the add ons. We could never get Kelly and when we did she was full of attitude and not the good kind. This wedding was huge most of the doctors in town, so of course we wanted it beautiful, but our daughter also did. Two weeks prior a physician friend of ours went first and that wedding was a disaster. His daughter was bonkers just like ours of course the same people attended. He said their wedding planner did not show up and everything was a mess and so my wife and daughter began to panic. Since we had a wedding planner I told my wife it would be fine but Kelly was not going to allow that to happen. Her helper Kayla told our wedding planner that the last 3 weddings before ours were a disaster. The DJ now here some advice bring your play list and a big speaker so when he botches your play list you have a backup. This guy ruined everything from the wedding walk to the music during the reception. Apparently he plays the same music at every event. When we realized what was happening we tried to stop it he basically said bugger off. Oh bring bee killer dont forget that. The arch could not be decorated properly because of swarming bees. Me and the groomsmen in our tuxes were out trying to kill bees, Kelly could not care less. then my wife and others heard Kelly state for her crew to make it as miserable as possible, she did! Oh her staff smokes pot before, during and who knows after. We had to get them away because it was drifting into the teenie tiny brides room where the girls get ready. My daughters dress was bigger than the whole second room. The cake cutting was never announced so everyone missed the cake cutting and the cake was huge, and then a dessert bar was to be provided to slow down the drinking but they did not put it out until the wedding was over which was by about 9pm because the DJ rushed everything! The picture's you see with all the beautiful table is false advertising as you better believe you pay extra. Maybe she can hand little weddings, not much fuss or expectorations but if you have a huge event unless you can get the barn without anything else stay clear! It was devastating for us. I wrote Kelly about this and she wrote back three words, Call my lawyer! If that doesn't say it all I dont know what does. A number of us got together to decide whether to bring a lawsuit which is still pending. I am telling you if you have a high profile, wedding do not go here she can not handle it! She has no idea what this type of wedding entails, small no big deal from other reviewers but take your chances, but still bring a speaker and a playlist so you can throw the DJ our when he botches everything,. I would give it zero also but a one is required. read more

This venue is AMAZING, it's been a month since the wedding and I keep getting compliments on how beautiful and perfect the wedding was. I am so thankful that everything went so smoothly, we both had a very stress free day nothing went wrong at all. Kelly was very helpful with planning everything, my husband is very particular of getting things done right; dot every "i" cross every "t" kinda guy. Kelly was able to accommodate everything he asked for and kept us both calm when planning was getting stressful. We hired a firework company to come out and the communication between Kelly and the company was great, I was able to keep them a surprise until the firework show started. John Gibbons market place catered the wedding, I have a million different allergies including gluten, dairy, tomatoes and red meat; they accommodated for me with an amazing chickpea stuffed acorn squash. We had ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf and prickly pear chicken, let me tell you we had managers from 5 star restaurants as guest at our wedding and they were very impressed with the food. With that note we also hired Genevieve to make our cake...AMAZING, again compliments are coming all the way from Iowa STILL. The biggest compliments are coming from my special ordered gluten free dairy free vanilla with raspberry filling cake, it seemed like everyone took a small taste of my special ordered 30 person cake. You can bet I will be calling Genevieve for ALL my event cake needs, especially for that GF DF cake. Mark was our DJ, we share wedding anniversaries now. My sister is getting married in Phoenix September and was asking how to get ahold of Mark to be her dj, I told her he is with Che's dj company. I met with a couple of the DJ's with this company Mark was the best there was to have! He was very lively and fun, played music from my list and didn't try changing my music selection. Shela was our bartender, she made an amazing virgin pomegranate margarita. From what my guest where saying she did an amazing job on the alcoholic drinks as well. She didn't have to cut anyone off. Jona was the BEST investment of ALL when it came to my wedding. She set up my decorations, moved them from the ceremony site to the cocktail hour and reception areas! At the end of the night she took everything down put it away then swept through the place to make sure nothing was missed. Overall we had the perfect wedding, and would HIGHLY recommend anyone to get married here. Kelly was very helpful and answered our one million and one questions promptly. She allowed us to use everything we wanted without hesitation; the florist, string quartet, mariachi and cocktail hour caters had no issues at all. My wedding planning was a breeze with Stardance. Kelly makes you feel like your the only bride she has and really takes on a mom feel. I was never left worrying or felt like i had any dumb questions. This is truly a diamond in the rough in Tucson and i would pick Stardance all over again. The food is wonderful and you have SO many options for food. The DJ, CHe, was a blast and had great ideas. I attended a wedding over Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful venue. The wedding was outdoors just before sunset. The backdrop of the mountains and Sonoran desert was breathtaking. The cocktail hour just outside of the barn-like structure was very nice. The actual structure where dinner was served was a good size and kept at a perfect temperature. The dance floor was set up in the center with dinner tables surrounding. There was plenty of room and everything looked great Cons: The bathroom area was small. Would be better suited if there was an additional bathroom on site The biggest (really the only) disappointment of the evening was one of the bartenders. The only service staff that was a problem was an older woman with blond hair named Sonya. She was extremely snappy and rude. Several times she slammed her hand on the bar to get attention of guests waiting in line. She was also extremely rude when she closed the bar just prior to the wedding party being announced. It was not what she said but how she said it. This beautiful venue would do itself a favor by cutting ties with this shockingly awful personality. read more

The views of the venue are jaw dropping. I thought the bar was charming with a nice range of options. The inside and outside areas were spacious. I did find the food to be nauseating however. It was catered by a place called "Gibson's". They served foods that were uncreative and boring. A Cordon Bleu Chicken that was flavorless and coated with a 1/2" thick breading. Also, a dry over cooked meatloaf with no flavor, reheated frozen vegetables that were over cooked and pale and turned to mush, and scalloped potatoes that needed to be cooked a bit more. I was the fortunate guest who was gluten intolerant so I could not eat most of the items. I could have eaten the vegetables but they were so nasty looking I had to pass. When the server noticed I had nothing on my plate she asked why so I told her. She seemed rather unconcerned and told to go eat more salad, the salad that consisted of spinach and three unripe cherry tomatoes with bottled dressing. Uhh, no thanks. I say I was fortunate because everyone at the table said their food was quite disgusting. My husband, who never normally leaves a thing on his plate, barely touched a thing. I fell in love with Stardance from the first moment. I wanted a wedding in the desert and I definitively got that. Kelly and her team were wonderful to work with. Our wedding on October 13, 2018 was everything. We chose the 2 entree choice meal (hint: order the prickly pear chicken w/ pineapple salsa, it was THE BEST!), brought in our own cake, decorations, florist. photo booth, BYOB worked out perfectly for us (although we brought in way too much alcohol, so go with their recommendations for sure on how much to purchase) and had a taco/hot dog truck set up shop for late night snacking. We used their preferred vendor for DJ, photography and videography. I chose not to go with their floral/decor (Eastland Alley) vendor because communication and price were not up to par. Che doubled as DJ and photographer. He did amazing work and made our day run so smoothly. Our crazy jam packed wedding schedule was a stressful one and he took it so well. Although it rained on our big day, we were able to get our desert shots and not make too much of a mess for my dress. Marcos and his team were super fun to have around. They captured all the fun moments. Location was great for our out of town guests too. Plenty of accommodations off the freeway and also secluded enough for guests to enjoy all that is remarkable about the surrounding Stardance scenery. read more

Stardance is an amazing and beautiful wedding venue! If you want amazing breathtaking scenic pictures in the desert then this is the place to be!!!! I still can not get over how magical the whole evening felt, I didn't want it to end! While the scenery and vibe of the venue is perfect there were a few factors that prevented me from giving it the five-star rating would have preferred to give. The venue offers catering, bartenders, DJ, photography, officiant services, decorator (Theresa) and baker. We paid for the catering, bartenders, DJ, photographer (Wilson & Henry Photography), decorator (Theresa), and baker (Cakes by Genevieve). The best advice I can give brides interested in the venue is to find an outside DJ for reception music. Overall the Dj played good music the whole time and even clarified with me if was okay to play a rap song since we had mentioned that we did not enjoy it. However there was one disappointment that practically negated all of this, and this was that the DJ started playing out wedding song while we were eating our dinner!!!! I literally stopped chewing my food, had to ask my husband to run to the DJ to stop before it was too late. It makes for a memorable moment during the evening...but it is not a positive memory. Also we planned everything with the owner of the DJ company (who also owns the photography company) but then the DJ ended up being a completely different person who we never met. I personally would have felt more comfortable if we had met with the actual DJ before hand... maybe then he would not have played our song wedding song during dinner. The second suggestion I would make is to sit down and really plans things out with the photographer, have a pan A and B (back up plan) - NO MATTER WHO YOU CHOOSE TO DO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY. This is something that mostly occurred through emails for me and the photographer's assistant (who is super nice btw). I say this for two reasons, 1) it will make you and the photographer both feel better and prepared for how the big day will go and 2) on the big day there is a possibility that your perfectly planned out hour-by-hour and minute-by-minute schedule will get behind. This happened to me and I was not ready in time which appeared to really annoy the photographers and they didn't hide very well... My morning was delayed by many different things that were 100% out of my hands. I could have spent the whole day upset about it, pouting, and being angry at the contributing factors, but instead I decided to roll with the punches. As a result I was not ready at 2:30/3:00pm to begin taking pictures with my bridesmaids, instead I was ready closer to 4:00pm and the wedding was beginning at 5:00 - YIKES, I know! The owner of the photography company asked me multiple times if I was ready when my hair wasn't complete and I had no make up on...Needless to say this is not only rude but stressful to do to any bride on their wedding day...It is the one day I feel I should have been allowed to say you're ready when I am ready, and not the other way around. And yes I had tons of picture ideas that I wanted and found on Pinterest and life would have been splendid had my day not being behind, but it was. Plus my thing was that getting ready, staying calm, and making sure I was comfortable, was more important to me on my wedding day. Much more important than getting snapshots of every single picture idea I had found on the internet. With that said, the pictures we received were wonderful and overall we were pleased. However they were not ready in 21 as promised on a card passed out at the wedding... Instead they were ready 30 days after the wedding, which was also disappointing. Also we never met one of the photographers and we would have preferred to have met him prior to the big day. Lastly the owner of the photography company did not stay for the whole wedding, which resulted in the venue team almost forgetting the bouquet toss, garter toss and the photobooth (which only resulting in 39 pictures). Also I was told by friends, that there were some unnecessary comments heard by what sounds like unhappy employees...but I certainly did not experience this at any point. The only other down fall was that it appears our table settings got a bit messed up. The food was decent quality and we loved that it all came from Rincon Market; the owners own Rincon Market, Stardance and Park Avenue. I would definitely recommend working with the Decorator and Cakes by Genevieve. Also Kelly the owner of Stardance was nice to work with, such a sweet person! The decorator, was great and helped us with center pieces and picking out the shabby chic flatware, which I would also recommend! Also Genevieve made us four amazing cakes!!! She even met with us a week before the wedding to sort everything out since we met with her husband at our original food tasting eight months before the wedding. If you're looking for a great place to have a wedding in Tucson this place has to be on your list. My wife and I checked out nearly every place in Southern Arizona after we saw Stardance, but none could match them. Kelly, Shiela, Ron, and Theresa were amazing. Not only does it boast some of the best views in the entire city, but you get the sunset and mountains as well. This place is one of the few venues that allows you to bring your own alcohol for a true open bar, a must have on my list, as well as an wonderful staff that will take care of anything you want. Just wrapped up my daughters wedding at Stardance. It is a beautiful and rustic venue. There were a handful of hiccups along the way, mostly planning/communication issues. But once those were worked out, our entire wedding party and guests fell in love with the night views of the city and Catalina Mountains surrounded by saguaros and the beauty at the base of Twin Peaks. The large converted reception barn gave the perfect ambiance for what my daughter had in mind. Kelly was accommodating and put us at ease in the last days before the event and Che the DJ helped provide exactly the song choices requested and the "Dancing" vibe our kids had hoped for. Kelly and her staff are beyond amazing. Our son and daughter-in-law had their 350-guest wedding at Stardance on April 1. First, the venue is beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the city, surrounded by the terrain around Saguaro National Park West. Then Kelly answered every single email immediately and processed every single request, while her staff kept it all straight during the entire reception. She was unflappable, as we joked about how this was the "Holy Toledo" wedding. The Stardance package is an outstanding value, and the vendors she included were all excellent, including the DJ and the great bartending staff headed by Sonya and Sheila from Bartending101. On the night of the reception, the inside and outside areas came to life with twinkling lights and beautiful decorations and lighting, and the food served for so many guests was tasty and well-prepared. In fact, all 350 guests fit without any problem still leaving room for a good-sized dance floor. Yet the venue is not cavernous and can expand or shrink according to the number of guests. This reception was perfect and beautiful thanks to Kelly and her staff. Couldn't thank her enough for all that they did. read more
