The other place, I would check the camera and my heart always dropped, he seemed sad just sitting in his bouncer every time. I would usually rush or postpone things at work and go get him. Now I'm more productive at work because I'm feeling confident in his care. I pick up on very subtle things. Today I was told our baby is always happy and will start to whine only when he's getting hungry or needs a change but he never cries. This tells me they're on top of his care as we are at home. They're learning his individual cues. He's always engaged when I walked in. Super blessed to find this place and feel this way. Keep it up! It's appreciated what yall do and thank you so much! The teachers in the infant room are so caring and have truly made such a great impact on our child's development. The child care employees do a wonderful job and are one of the main reasons our family enjoys coming here. However, I do think the YMCA should reconsider advertising the pool as a membership amenity when, in practice, it is rarely available for general use. During the week, only a couple of morning hours are open, and those times are primarily intended for children taking swimming lessons. Everyone else--including children--is limited to a very small portion of a single lane. The pool is also unavailable on Sundays, has limited hours on Saturdays, and on Fridays it is often occupied by camps, making it inaccessible to regular members. While I understand the need to accommodate lessons and programs, the reality is that members have very few opportunities to actually use the pool. It feels misleading to market it as a membership benefit when it is so difficult to access. I hope the YMCA will either expand public pool availability or be more transparent about the limited access so members know what to expect.

The attitude I'd see reflected as love throughout the school It was so great to find a school for toddlers not yet potty trained and all to have all meals and snacks provided My son went through the infant program and it was great for him; so much growth!! He interacted with the other babies but still got the individual infant care he needed, The daily reports are valuable, The love and care of the individual babies was apparent to me with my son amd is everytime I walk by the infant room Now my son is in the toddler program, Again, I am so impressed with the program; they are all engaged,Cool and interesting lesson topics I can see the teachers control the environment and not the kids. My son is typically a very social, happy, and engaged boy and even at our first daycare, which we did not love for similar issues, he at least was very very quick to warm up and happy to be there. This place was a different story altogether and my main and major gripe is with the young ones teacher, Ms. Ryann--cold, detached, minimally engaged. I spent 40 minutes with my son to help him ease in on his first day at this daycare. The whole time I was in the 1 year old room, his teacher did not greet either of us, did not offer to show us where to put things....nothing. I had to go up to her and ask her right as I had to leave. She did barely anything to comfort my son when he burst into tears when I went to leave. All big red flags to me. It continued like that for our whole time there and from the times I was able to check in on the livestreams, it was the same thing from this teacher -- bare minimum greetings or verbal/app updates, no warmth towards my son as he'd walk around crying by himself throughout the mornings, no attempts to get him to join the other babies as she sat in the corner with them like a lazy lump doing no activities any time I looked in. Wouldn't know if she ever did since she never sent a single update picture the entire time we stayed there. Every day when I dropped him off and picked him up, he would totally melt down and cling to me--very different from his typical personality and even very different from his quick and easy adjustment period at his last daycare. The only day he seemed happy at pickup AND the only day we got a single picture update was a day another teacher covered. That teacher actually led art activities and I saw her smiling and engaging with him and the other babies each time I checked the livestream. The difference in his demeanor was night and day, after just one day On top of all that, he was being offered hardly any water while he was there with the normal teacher, as evidenced by a sudden and notable change in his BMs, his desire to guzzle the water I offered him at pick up and from me beginning to monitor the water level of his cup at drop off and pick up (which didn't change at all on multiple days) When we toured, one of my main concerns was that his last daycare wasn't actually taking the babies outside to play at all and we were assured these kiddos went out practically every single morning. I did tend to bring him at the tail end of the time the babies were supposed to be outside most mornings, but there was never any sign of the others being outside. Yet, when I would check the cameras to see if my baby was having a better time later in the AM (about an hour or so after drop off and the time they were meant to be outside), the kids wouldn't be visible on cameras as it seemed they were outside.... I asked about this and was told they werent actually outside at this time, just "watching the other kids play from the door"....because why?? Sounds kind of mean to not let them get their own play time, but make them watch others play...probably just because the teachers themselves wanted to socialize. That's an assumption, to be fair, but not far fetched imo To be transparent, we were only there for about 2 weeks/7 actual days. I let the director know concerns at disenrollment but didn't wait around for her to address them--time is short and everything in my gut was saying this situation sucked for him. The director didn't seem bad, and the rest of the staff was at least friendly on surface level so 2 stars instead of 1 SO happy we switched places, as it was an immediate change in his happiness and demeanor on day 1 and every single day since. We're greeted warmly and he gets right into playing happily. Hes all smiles at pickup, and we get tons of activity photos all day long. They go outside every morning and sometimes in PM and his poo is magically back to normal! Who would have thought warm energy and offering water could make such an immediate and drastic difference

The rates are acceptable and they work with me when I've had child support issues. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. They say it takes a village and I definitely count Kid's First as a part of my village. AND they are open Saturdays!

This teacher didn't care and has been rude since my kids started 1 week ago. It's not ok the rudeness she provided for a concerned parent to bring up an issue. I will be following up with corporate since she seems to have an issue with me and my family.

I could not recommend this before/after school program any higher. At the Mesa Verde PAL Miss Tammy offers excellent science experiments all year round and we could not adore her more! My child is excited about the projects they do and the fun games they get to play. It is much more than just a place to go. The teachers who work here are committed and caring. It makes me happy to know my child has a safe and wonderful place to go to while his parents finish up work for the day. Pro-tip: for those considering STEMazzzing camp for your child, be sure to register for classes as soon as you can! The LEGO, Sharks, and Minecraft classes go quickly. They also offer Physical Education during camp including things like Crossfit for Kids, Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer.

The lady I talked to said they might not have space, asked whether I required financial aid and then "magically" found space. Roll with me for a moment. When we showed up, I asked the teacher how full they were and she said they had 8 slots left to fill. I cannot overstate how irritating it is to be profiled and have someone assume you require financial aid; but probably more importantly, though I'm reserving final judgment for drop-off tomorrow, this screening will result in little to no diversity in the classroom. I did not see any when we were there. If this matters to you as it does to me, know that I've not had bad experiences with the site director, the teachers, or even the CEP corporate employees. It's just a nasty feeling that something is not right. Though I cannot fault our interactions, I wonder would they be so compassionate to someone working in the (upper middle class) area who required financial aid to enroll their child... I'm just not so sure how I feel about this and I wanted to pen this review honestly immediately after the fact. I hope that was not their intent, and I will update the review later if anything changes about my perceptions but I think this is something to be considered. My older two were in elementary and used CEP for after-care and the experience was phenomenal. I haven't had a bad thing to say about the program or how it is run, but this really rubbed me the wrong way.
